mellymooks · 01/04/2010 13:45

Oh yeah 16 wks today

MammyG · 01/04/2010 22:40

Happy Birthday Banana! My cousin is celebrating being 30 today too! Thirties rock - your 20s are an adventure but you are so green! You find your feet in your 30's and learning to be comfortable in your own skin is the coolest part. I dont make as many excuses for myself anymore!

Cravings shifting from sweet to savoury now. Made the Easter chocolate nests etc and wasnt nearly as carried away on choc as last week. Meanwhile just had a spring roll with sweet chilli sauce yum! also picked on balsamic pickled onions and anchovies today - big change!

Tackling the wardrobe this weekend. Packing away all clothes I wont get into til december. Leaving out a few things that I may be a bit overly optimistic about but hey! two family members dropping me bags of mat clothes on sat - a whole new free wardrobe!

bellabelly · 02/04/2010 13:45

Happy birthday, Bananastew - hope you had a good one!
Raining like mad here and we have friends coming to stay. Hope the sun will come out for at least some of the time they are here!
mellymooks - am of you having 3 days away, how lovely!

babyshoes · 02/04/2010 16:24

I felt movement last night and it definitely wasn't wind! Again, a warm drink but with an added kit kat (think it was the kit kat that did it)

Happy Birthday Bananstew but please, 30 is NOT old! I turned 40 this year and feel better than ever (until i got pregnant of course and now i actually feel 50 as i'm so tired and creaky but i'm sure it will pass again once i've given birth)! Remember,
30 is the new 20's but with knowledge and experience...!

Have a happy Easter everyone and fingers crossed for a sunny Sunday or there will be lots of soggy eggs and kids in the garden

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2010 14:48

Hi Everyone,

My baby is due 31st August so 18+4, hoping for a September baby so it's not the youngest in the school year! This is my second and my son will be 3 on 27th April. I don't have a bump yet

Just stopped feeling sick at the sight of anything sweet just in time for Easter! Haven't read the whole thread yet but read first and last page. Wasn't on an antenatal thread with my first but would be nice to join.

watersprite · 03/04/2010 16:19

Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to this site. I'm 14 weeks plus 5 and I'm due 27 September. I already have a 7 year old and I'm lucky to be pregnanat as I have endometriosis.

x x

MudandRoses · 03/04/2010 20:01

Hi and welcome cinnamongreyhound and watersprite.
And hi everyone else.
I've been having a weird week. On the one hand I have a proper bump and I definitely look pregnant. And i feel much better and no major complaints...
but I haven't felt much movement - just occasional 'flicks' that could be bubbles(im sure i felt more at this stage with DS1) and i know I'm probably being paranoid but i can't help worrying and worrying. I KNOW it's daft since there's no reason to worry but I can't seem to stop! It's flipping AGES til my 20wk scan at the end of april. I have a midwife's appt on tues - do you think she has a Doppler and could check for a heartbeat? Or am i being totally silly??

cinnamongreyhound · 03/04/2010 20:27

I had consultant appointment at 16wks due to high BMI. I asked if we could listen to the heartbeat, she said they don't usually because you can't always find it at 16wks but tried and found it. I had a midwife appointment at 14wks and she tried without asking and we heard it no probs, so I guess it depends on midwife?

I am feeling this one everyday at the moment but definately didn't feel DS that often at this stage so perhaps it depends on the baby, I don't think you should worry about not feeling baby lots at this stage. I don't know how far along you are but guess if your scan is end of April you can't be far behind me as mine is 21st April.

ooosabeauta · 03/04/2010 20:30

Welcome cinnamongreyhound and watersprite and congratulations!

My ds1 is an August baby, and I remember begging the midwife not to book me in for an induction for 31st and to leave it a extra day! As it is, I've been reassured by lots of August birthday people who were fine. Understand your feelings though!

MudandRoses I don't think you need to worry about not feeling movement, as I'm a week behind you and haven't felt any, but had a scan a couple of days ago which showed that all is fine at the moment. However, hopefully the midwife's doppler can reassure you (I'm pretty sure she'd have one), or if you're really desperate (like I was) you can book a private reassurance scan to see that everything's ok. Mine was £55 from a company called A4d baby, and was worth every penny as I couldn't have lasted 'til my 20 week one in May. Anyway, if you're getting a proper bump then that's wonderful and must mean things are growing as they should . Apparently the baby doubles in weight from week 14-15 and again at 15-16, so it sounds like your bump must tally with this if that's any reassurance!

Sorry for the really long post, am in a 'talking baby' mood! Just found out today that my brother and sister-I-L are expecting a baby exactly 9 weeks after ours, all being well, which is weird because their dc1 is exactly 9 weeks younger than our dc1

Anyway, had to share that, however random it sounds. Hope you all have fab weekends!

scooby16 · 03/04/2010 20:44

due 19th september with first, so excited feeling good now had terrible headaches but acupuncture has sorted that out hopefully, i am just starting to get a bump now i never stop eating, im craving nachos all the time, good luck everyone

MudandRoses · 03/04/2010 21:17

Nachos? That's one that hadn't occurred...
I am finally over the snickers cravings...eating more or less normally again now, hurrah! I did almost have an orgasm over crispy bacon the other day. But that's not totally out of character for me, anyway

mellymooks · 03/04/2010 21:24

Hello folks, welcome newbies. I just had 16 week app. and my MW listened to and found heartbeat with no difficulty so I would def. ask for it, if it isn't offered, is very reassuring to hear it as my little one has very intermittent movement so far.

Am really achy round my bump and lower back anyone else feeling like this? I don't remember feeling this so much with the first, the MW says it's cause I've stretched once already and I'm heaving a toddler around!

Gonna crash now sooo tired today. Hope you're all having lovely Easter wknds.

Swordfishtrombones · 04/04/2010 12:14

Happy easter everyone! Not much to report here. The rain has held off whilst the DDs had their egg hunt and now DH has taken them out to run off all the sugar!

I noticed there have been quite a few newbies since the last list, so here goes....apologies if I've missed anyone.

Oh, and 18+3

Happy Easter to everyone.

My 20 week scan is due 7th May, cant wait. Iv'e been feeling flutters from 9 weeks and little Kicks from 12 weeks. I felt them much later in my first pregnancy, loving the feeling though.

15 weeks tomorrow and I'm quite big already, looks funny as I'm quite slim lol

Dont know what's wrong with me today can't stop cleaning at the moment, got loads done today so I'm happy.

comixminx · 04/04/2010 19:34

Hello everyone and welcome to the new people!

Definitely get the MW to play you the doppler - my MW does it at each visit (even the first one quite a while ago, though she didn't guarantee being able to hear it at the time - she could though so definitely worth the try, and so reassuring).

I've not felt much movement - more 'flicks' or flutters, like you, MudandRoses - though I'm 19 + 2 now - I just put it down to individual differences. Am still growing my bump nicely and my boobs are definitely getting to look more like pregnancy-boobs, so I'm getting my reassurance elsewhere! Looking forward to feeling movement sometime soon though.

Watersprite, I've had loads of energy to do cleaning & tidying today too - I put it down to finally having both good weather and time to sort stuff out in! Some more to be done tomorrow so I hope the weather stays at least reasonable for then. Yesterday was yuk, I had no energy at all after coming back home from shopping.

lifeas3plus1 · 04/04/2010 20:56

Hi everyone.

Well biggest news is that up until today I had only felt little flutters from the baby however I have just eaten a massive bag of cheesy doritos and the baby is going absolutely crazy in there.

Our tenancy for the new place starts tomorrow and am really looking forward to getting in there now. If anyone wants to come help unpack it will be most appreciated. lol.

Finding lifting my (suddenly) clingy 1yr old in 5 day's ds a real battle as I keep pulling/twisting the muscles in my lower abdomen. It hurts, A lot.

I have noticed a little bump appearing which I am very excited about, Need to make the most of my favourite jeans now before I have to get into Maternity clothes.

Hope you all had a good easter sunday and you're all well.

17+2 (I think)

Hello ladies,

wow this thread has grown. I really missed so much!! I've included myself in the list below. EDD 25/09/10

Haven't had a good ride so far, sick as a dog with nausea, then a stomach bug, then food poisoning. In hospital on drip and bed rest for a week each time. I am exhausted and still have to look after my first child..gah!

I still fit into my skinny jeans...yay! But I cannot fasten them at the top. Mainly wearing dresses anyway as it's starting to get hot here. I'm already dreading the desert summer which is like max oven heat + sauna combined...yuck.

Wish I was back in Blighty. Happy Easter to all of you!!

Hi all! Had a fantastic weekend in London! Took in all the sights. On foot! I keep forgetting I'm pregnant & so did everyone with me! I'm suffering today. Me & my friend were very impressed with ourselves. We got a bus & everything! How embarrassing to admit I never do that!!

Anyway. Bump definately growing fast. No normal clothes here. just maternity trousers & stretchy or loose tops! 20 week scan on the 15th. Can't wait, then moving on the 16th! (hopefully)

Pleased all is going well for everyone

cinnamongreyhound · 05/04/2010 19:30

I'm so jealous of those of you with bumps! I know I will probably wish mine away when it comes but I wish I had a little one I could rub. Not to mention the usual comments from unthinking people, I thought you were pregnant, where are you hiding your baby, etc.

We bought paint today as my stepson is moving in with my son so that the baby can have its own room and not disturb either of them. Also have a terribly tatty hallway that we got paint for too Waiting for the 21st April until we get paint for the babies room.

Feeling very sick this evening but have a had a bit of easter egg over the weekend.

babyshoes · 05/04/2010 20:28

Hi everyone. Hey cinnamongreyhound i'm due on 29th August but reckon it will be Sept so in the same boat. 20 week scan on the 14th so fingers crossed, taking DS as he is convinced he has a sister in my tummy, want to manage expectations. wonder what he'll make of it...
Great everyone is starting to feel something, i'm getting the odd flutter here and there but nothing constant, about to eat a green curry tho so maybe that will help kick things off .
Hey mudandroses i ask every time i have an appointment at the hospital and they always oblige with a quick listen to the heartbeat, always very low down, much lower than i'd imagine it would be!
Is everyone else having restless nights? i seem to wake up about 5 or 6 times a night and not always to have a wee.....

MudandRoses · 05/04/2010 21:03

Hi everyone
Thanks for all the reassurance on the movement front. I am feeling less worried - have definitely felt something that wasn't wind, since it was persistently flicking or kicking my waistband!
babyshoes my DS is convinced he's having a sister too, he seems very pleased about it despite being a very boy-y boy. Think he reckons there's less chance it'll steal his Lego! Mind you everyone else thinks im having a girl too. I am definitely going to find out - I can't wait!

Not having very restless nights, just needing to wee once - and having VERY vivid dreams...

cinnamongreyhound · 05/04/2010 21:12

My husband has been joking saying that it will be a boy and telling DS he wants a boy, now he has decided he won't like a girl and it can stay in if it's a girl! Hoping he'll enjoy seeing the baby and then he'll have time to get used to it, if we are having a girl.

Needing a wee upto 3 times and have had a poorly little boy who has been up several times a night so not pregnancy related! Me too with the dreams!

comixminx · 05/04/2010 21:17

Oooh, restless nights, that's me babyshoes! Miriam Stoppard reckons that the baby's metabolism being high all the time means that your own metabolism doesn't get much of a chance of downtime. I find it gets me at around 4 or 5 ish in the morning - and if I do manage to get back to sleep a) I can only manage it a couple of hours later and b) I am zonked when I do finally wake up. Fun fun fun!

MammyG · 05/04/2010 22:15

Hi all and welcome newbies

Am out of my own clothes now - intersting what was said about baby size doubling between weeks 14-15 and again 15-16. I have literally come out of my clothes in one week. Delighted with all the lovely clothes my v generous cousin sent on! huge bag so am sorted!

Am not sleeping well at all. Up to pee a lot and then just waking for the fun of it! Havent felt any movement but to be honest if i lie flat Im asleep in less than a minute- must try to stay awake this eve and see.
DH had nasty stomach bug all over the weekend so was very busy with the boys. Am shattered. DS1 had it last week. So waiting to see who falls first now DS2 or me? Fingers crossed neither of us will.

Dont have 20 week til May 4th and no other appointments in between - torture!!!
Glad to hear everyone is well - night night.
