Hello all & welcome to newcomers - can't believe how many us there are now - it's mad!

Haven't posted for a while as have been mega busy with family visiting... all gone now though and looking forward to friends visiting for Easter weekend which will be much more civilised and much less stressful! I have a very complicated family

There definitely seems to be a much less sicky vibe to the thread which is good! I must admit I'm only feeling sick now when I spend any time in the car or don't eat breakfast quickly enough. And it feels great - who would have thought it would feel like such a miracle just to get through a day feeling 'normal' - it's amazing what you take for granted
Cue hormonal outbursts though - Jaysfourth I'm totally on that rollercoaster with you. My poor DH is in a right spin, one minute i'm in floods over the tiniest thing, completely unable to explain to him why I'm so upset, the next I'm laughing and feeling like life couldn't be better, then I'm snappy and unreasonable before suddenly being all romantic and leading him off to the bedroom. I'm not sure who's more confused - me or him!
I mean, I used to get PMT reasonably badly but this is a whole new level!!

I'm very envious of all of your non-bumps or tummy's tight enough to feel definite contacted womb. My addiction to Monstermunch has gone to epic proportions now and it's not helping my rapidly expanding waistline. I think i look almost as pregnant from behind as i do from the front - it's a pretty even tyre all round!!
Fingers crossed that the weather breaks soon, I'm holding out that I'll be more inclined to exercise a bit more once the sun makes an appearance

Still haven't felt baby move I don't think - thought i did the other night when lying on the sofa - felt like little spasms deep inside - but haven't felt anything similar since. Really can't wait for the 20wk scan, just to reassure myself that the little one is still moving about more than anything.
Only 2 wks to go - very excited! Hoping it will fly by what with Easter in between. Definitely gonna find out the sex if we can - really not bothered either way I just can't stand the suspense!!

Goodness, gonna have to sign off - what an essay. Sorry folks! Can you tell DH is away on business? ;)

Hi, Thanks everyone for the London advice! babyshoes when you say about parking, do you mean for driving into town from the park plaza or parking at the park plaza in general!?

I was speaking to someone today who drank 2 glasses of wine a night for the 1st 15 weeks of her pregnancy! so I'm sure the odd small glass is fine!

My lastest dilema is do I eat Ds easter eggs or let him have a tiny bit each day so they last until next easter?!

Love2Dance · 30/03/2010 20:32

Eat 'em. Mine forgets after a bit even if I do save stuff and give a bit out for a few days.

Babyshoes you are not alone. Asked DH to bring me a Cadbury's Fruit & Nut on Sunday. They only had the giant bars (special offer). I ate the whole thing in one sitting.

Hi everyone
sorry been away a while...literally and metaphorically. a trip to Switzerland and then back to the real world; but i've been feeling tired again (thught that was meant to pass!).

But realised the other day as I sipped a hot choc with whipped cream how GLAD i was the 1st trimester's over! I feel SO much better! Hurrah!

Whoever was talking about that weird phenomenon of your womb going hard after an orgasm - I got that last time, definitely, I remember it!! Haven't noticed this time (maybe i'm not big enough yet, maybe I'm just not having enough orgasms. Or the wrong kind of orgasms. Or something!)

OOh...just realised One Born Every Minute is on tonight. I can't wait! How sad am i? ANyone else into it?

Jaysfourth · 30/03/2010 21:06

just about to watch it now!

comixminx · 30/03/2010 22:03

hah hah! Fantastic to hear that others also have this weird womb-going-hard thing (MudandRoses, that was me who originally said about it - interesting to see Jaysfourth has also experienced it).

18 + 3 I think

Love2Dance · 31/03/2010 06:46

I loved One Born Every Minute, but I was surprised how many still laboured lying on their backs on a bed.

OhFuck · 31/03/2010 07:06

Hi girls, remember me?

Lost track of the old thread and I'd just have been moaning about having sore guts and feeling sick and being exhausted etc etc etc so I saved you all that!

Due 26th and all systems go for a VBAC we hope!

Feeling much less wabbit these days, although still slobbering like a hungry St Bernard. And really, really fat

Hope you lot are all tickety boo?

BooStar · 31/03/2010 10:48

I love one born every minute! Really look forward to it every week. DH hates, finds it all a bit too traumatic I think.

It's weird watching it though as that's where we're down to give birth - gonna be a bit freaky recognising all the staff when we go in!

Really sad that it was the last one last night although Heston's new series starts same time next week so that will definitely make up for it!!

babyshoes · 31/03/2010 11:17

Hi Bananastew, i meant parking around Victoria/west end, i can't remember about the actual hotel but if you call them they'll be able to tell you, i think they have something round the back for guests but i'm not 100% certain. since i mentioned the restaurant i can't stop thinking about their black cod!

I can't bring myself to watch one born every minute! With DS1 i watched every maternity show i could find on TV but as i've already done it once i don't want to be reminded thank you very much! Also, too many heartwrenching bits - i tuned in once i think and saw the most poorly tiny prem baby and it made me cry - now i'll only watch comedy, hard core dramas and vampire series (with the exception of brothers and sisters however sad it might be, Rob Lowe cannot be missed)!

Re. Easter eggs - EAT THEM....! i've also become addicted to salt and vinegar square crips but thankfully not every shop sells them and no other brand will do!

For those who haven't felt their baby yet (me included this time), a good trick i used to do was have a very warm/hot but not too hot milky drink late at night and sip slowly and lie back, DS used to really wriggle (probably because i was scolding him) and it's the first time i felt him move whilst doing this.

Hi all, Thought I'd pop on and see how everyone is doing?

I'm very of all your baby bumps. I'm still fitting in my normal jeans.

Can't win though, I was having to wear maternity clothes from 8weeks with Ds and it did my head in lol.

Been looking into birthing pools recently as am really interested in having a homebirth.

Ds was 10day's early and had a very easy labour and birth but a really crappy pregnancy, This time pregnancy has been a breeze so I just know that I am doomed for a less than ideal labour and birth and tbh I am shitting myself.

Anyway off to see my new flat this afternoon. We're in temp accomodation at the moment so to have somwhere I can officially call home will be wonderful.

Hope your all well.

So will be back in a week or two. hope you all have a good one.

Jaysfourth · 31/03/2010 19:18

evening all!

someone who i hadnt seen for well over a month said to me today ( knowing i was pregnant) yes you look like you have put on some weight.....i mean was that meant in a good or bad way.... i said well yes i am almost 20 weeks pregnant... shes a think as a stick, after three kids ( admittedly all grown up now) and i think she reckons on people being more like her....although, she did tell me she used to prop up her babies bottle with towels and let them feed themselves, from as early as 8 weeks old i took it with a pinch of salt and carried on.....

welcomeback ohfuck, hope you are feeling better now

enjoy your time away patio

and lifeas3plus1....wow at you still wearing normal clothes, sometimes i wish i was... despite what insensitive woman said to me, i have put on weight and have been in maternity since about 14 weeks.....can't win with pregnancy can you!

oh and re babymovments, i used to drink something fizzy, within ten mins i would feel jumps, moves and turns...who knows its worth a try

DH away tonight, so i have the whole bed to take over !!

Jaysfourth · 31/03/2010 19:19

*as thin as a stick.........

Bessie123 · 31/03/2010 20:01

ooooh, I think I just felt the baby move for the first time. Do you think it's too soon? I'm sure it was about this time with dd. Could be wind, I suppose...

ooosabeauta · 31/03/2010 21:11

Evening all!

How did looking at your new flat go, lifeas3plus1? Sounds exciting. I'm in the mood for moving, but I think that's a bit of early nesting syndrome going on, and I haven't got the energy to put my clean clothes away at the moment, let alone move house!

Have a lovely trip to Yorkshire patito. I love it up there. Brr!

Went for a reassurance scan today, and so glad I did as I feel much better having seen the baby kicking and waving, and sucking its thumb! So sweet! Am gearing up to telling people in RL that I'm pregnant now. Seeing my brother and sister in law at the weekend, and I know they're going to think I've just got really really fat and it'll be getting a bit embarrassing if I don't admit why. No real bump tbh, but a double chin, podgy cheeks, terrible skin (dry patches that I've never had before - anyone else got weird skin at the moment?) and a general paunchiness about me. Great!

No movements here yet, been driving myself potty with the 'Summer' baby listener device that I used last time - I know it's too early but keep trying! Has anyone else been using one of these?

Hope you're all well

ooosabeauta · 31/03/2010 21:11

Forgot again - 14+6.

lifeas3plus1 · 31/03/2010 22:06

Hi ooosabeauta, Flat was gorgeous. Lovely private suntrap garden too which will be perfect for summer. Should get key's tomorrow. YAYYYYYY.

I've still got to tell my mum about the pregnancy, don't know why we've left it so long. She was fantastic the 1st time. Feeling a bit more nervous this time though (at 23yrs old, lol)

I used one of those summer monitors with Ds. I never found his heartbeat on it ever.

Movements- well 1st time I first felt him move at 20ish weeks and a can of coke and lying on my left side was alway's guarenteed to get him practising gymnastics.

Felt a few things already this time. Nothing massive though.

All in good time.

Hellew

welcome lifeas3plus1, Im crying at everything these days! Was away for 2 days and listening to radio in car was blubbing like a baby! Could see other drivers wondering what was going on!

Monster - We have had crazy weather here too! on monday I drove thru sunshine, hail, snow and rain. Today we actually had every kind of weather as well! Totally freaky.

Bump wise. I can still fit in my own pants etc but more comfy in mat wear in the evenings. Biggest prob is tops stretching over my Ginormous!! boobs. They are so heavy! Want a bump tho for comfort and reassurance. When I say Im pregnant its like people look at me thinking Im a bit mad!
When I was pregnant with DS2 tho one woman said to me 'oh your like me, you wont look pregnant just fat!' Charming!

Re; Drinking. My friend goes to a lady doc near hear and when she asked about drink and pregnancy she said - "trust me, there will be points during your pregnancy when you will desperately need a drink! If it makes you feel sane and normal have it!" think like everything else moderation etc

Spending tomorrow making crunchy easter nests and easter cupcakes! Joy!!! Martha Stewart and all her crew have a lot to answer for!

Oh my goodness! Not a good day here! Its my birthday! I'm 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats old. I'm old! I think I might just hide away and wallow in my oldness!!

Bessie123 Its very possible you felt movement. I didn't feel Ds till 16 weeks but felt this one around 13 weeks. I think if I'd known what it felt like with Ds I would have felt him earlier! Another tip to try is to drink a pint of Iced water then lay still! If you can after all that fluid without wetting yourself!

Lifeas3plus1 How exciting about your flat. We're moving in a couple of weeks. I can't wait! I'm very sad at leaving ds 1st home tho. All his 1sts are here. It makes me cry just thinking about it!

Clothes wise, I'm just about out of normal jeans. Can get away with 1 pair but they're very low hipsters. Normal tops are still fine but I tend to wear leggings and long tops/dresses anyway so they're pretty good for an expanding bump!

lenga01 · 01/04/2010 10:06

Hi,

I thought i'd pop by and say hello. I'm due on the 20/09/2010 and me and my oh are so excited! I already have a 4 year old daughter who cannot wait to be be a big sister!

Swordfishtrombones · 01/04/2010 10:37

Happy birthday Bananastew 30 is not old! How very dare you! My early 30s have been my best years so far. By a long way. And women are supposed to be at their sexual peak at 30 (though not sure about the ones who are up the duff, so to speak ).

I gave up on my jeans a few weeks ago. they were okay until they went in the wash, and then they were just too tight and uncomfortable, and I didn't fancy wearing them until they stretched again. With all this bad weather it's easy to wear lots of layers anyway so there could be anything under all my jumpers! I have a very definite baby bump though.

Hello lenga01 and welcome to all the other newcomers. Do you want to add yourselves to the list? I'll do it later if not but I think there have been quite a few since the last time we wheeled it out.

Right, I need to go and draw a map of the garden and plan an Easter egg treasure hunt for the DDs on sunday. fingers crossed it doesn't rain. And that I don't eat all the mini eggs beforehand...

Swordfishtrombones · 01/04/2010 11:40

How many is 'too many' chocolate eggs do you think?

Swordfishtrombones · 01/04/2010 11:41

aw sweet! I was hoping to get the rabbit!

mellymooks · 01/04/2010 13:43

Yeah banana 30 is def. NOT old!! Happy Birthday by the way

I am still ok in my jeans when I'm standing up but as soon as I sit down they are cutting in and I have to undo them - ok at home but not so appropriate when amongst company

I really must get up the loft and get down all mat clothes and all the baby clothes - ahh will be really lovely to see all the teeny tiny clothes again, we got given some lovely things, mostly unisex so will be able to use whatever the sex.

Talking of which my other half really wanted to know the sex when we have 20 wk scan so I said we could but only if we keep to ourselves and don't tell DD in case it is wrong. He says there's no way he can keep it quiet so says lets not bother, just when I was getting used to the idea of finding out!!
Do you think he's trying reverse psychology on me?

Weather still pants here, it's cause I'm off work for two wks you know, it's all my fault sorry everyone!

Going away on my own for 3 days end of next week will be the longest I have ever left my LO, I feel excited but a guilty all once.
