0h I'm 28 btw!

gingertoo · 09/03/2010 11:29

Wow - It's going to be a busy thread! Lots of newbies since I looked - Hi to you all

Can sympathise with everyone who is suffering with morning sickness. I feel terrible this morning. I've only actually been sick once but I've felt sick all morning. That said, sitting here with mn and a coffee I'm starting to feel a bit better.

Ms never started this early or this full on in my last pregnancies so can't help wondering whether this one is a girl (the other 3 are boys)??? Would be so shocked if it is a girl - have sort of programmed myself to think that I only have boys (and my boys are so lovely )

addictedtomn · 09/03/2010 11:53

libra i'm a chake decorator and the inspection went great right now back to stressing about the baby!

hi talkingback

i've not actually been sick with ms yet, but really feel it in the morning when i first wake up (at 5am like clockwork ) and in the evening from around 6pm

floweringcurrant · 09/03/2010 13:15

Hello to everyone, got my BFP yesterday. Its very early days. Am very nervous after mmc at 12 weeks last April. So this will be my first child if everything goes to plan. I am 39 and EDD is 17th November.
So looking forward to everything and to getting to know everyone.

VodkaGirl77 · 09/03/2010 14:41

Hello All

Energumene - so sorry to hear your news.

Welcome to the newbies.

Have had my first midwife appointment today. It's been nearly four years since dd2 was born so I was a bit fuzzy on what would happen. She filled in all my maternity notes and discussed my previous births. We also talked about screening tests, so have some decisions to make there - more talking with dp I think.

I was hoping to have a home birth, but she seems to think that it wouldn't be advisable after having shoulder dystocia with dd2, so I think I will plan to go into hospital for the shortest time possible.

Am booked in to have my bloods taken in five weeks and will hopefully get my scan date through in the next couple of weeks.

Hope all are well and not too much ms about

fromheretomaternity · 09/03/2010 20:36

I know this is really trivial but anyone worried about having a winter baby? My last was born in late March so I had a whole summer of mooching round the park, sitting in outdoor cafes, etc... think I would have gone berserk if I was stuck inside!

hmmSleep · 09/03/2010 20:51

fhtm My dd was a winter baby (Feb), ds summer (Aug), personally I found winter easier, I just got so damn hot in the summer, especially at night! The only problem with being heavily pregnant in winter is finding a coat that fits, I resorted to a poncho.

Welcome floweringcurrant and Mibby!

hmmSleep · 09/03/2010 20:54

Ha, fhtm just realised you meant after baby born! In which case summer definitely easier!!

fromheretomaternity · 09/03/2010 20:58

ooooh dear! well I guess the most important thing is that the baby is happy, healthy etc... anyone had a good winter baby experience, tell me how lovely it is to be snuggled up warm with a newborn when it's cold outside!

LadyBee · 09/03/2010 21:35

evening all,

energumene, I was very sorry to read of your loss, I hope you're taking good care of yourself.

I'm still freezing, starting to get a little queasy every so often and quite tired, especially after work, but that's about it so far.

I called my GP practice to find out whether I need to see the GP or go straight to midwife and it turns out I need to go to the GP - can't get appointments further than a week in advance and the appoints for the week are all gone, except for emergencies. I don't suppose this qualifies . Oh well, will call tomorrow for an appointment the week after, at least it's on my day off.

Somehow it feels like until I've told a medical professional, it's not real.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 10/03/2010 08:22

Is anyone else watching One Born Every Minute, fantastic stuff and I want a McD after labour next time.

DS woke me at 5:30am thankfully with application of dummy (before all you first-time mummies start judging just wait...) he went back to sleep until 6:30am but I just lay awake feeling sick. Ugh.

It's odd that we have to go to GPs first when they don't actually test for anything would make much more sense just to go straight to midwife.

I had a summer baby and tbh (if DH wasn't worried about the whole school thing) I would probably prefer summer baby, getting up in the middle of the night to breast-feed is warmer!

addicted glad the inspection went well.

cluelessnchaos · 10/03/2010 09:19

The only thing I am worried about is doing my dhs 40th birthday two weeks after baby is born I was planning a big ceilidh not so sure now, I am in Aberdeenshire and it's been flipping freezing for months I can't imagine it ever being warm again

mumcha · 10/03/2010 09:20

Hi all ,could u add me to the list aswell my edd is the 5th nov even tho i was induced with my 3 boys 5-3 weeks early so this could be an october baby . Im also very nervous as i had a mc last august so every we cramp or bit of back pain i think its happening again but trying not to worry to much.sending lots of love to every1 x

fifisboys · 10/03/2010 11:07

Just a quick update to let you know...ive been for my scan.....everythings fine
I have such a weight lifted off my shoulders i might actually start enjoying this pregnancy now.

Scan showed tiny baby at 6 weeks with lovely strong heartbeat and everything looked fine so far

Threelittleducks · 10/03/2010 11:24

Hello! I found out yesterday - think I am 4 weeks. Off to docs this noon to get my folic acid (didn't expect an appointment for about 2 weeks, but they had a cancellation).

This will be number 2 for us and we are pretty excited - though haven't told anyone yet!

Going through a lot of personal stuff at the moment, so shall be needing a lot of support. Congrats everyone - fingers crossed!xxx

gingertoo · 10/03/2010 12:14

fifisboys

Thrilled for you x

floweringcurrant · 10/03/2010 12:53

aw fifisboys thats a great relief, have got first scan next Thursday am guaranteed to be paranoid wreck by then.

Can I ask those of you who have already had a baby... do you think that symptoms come sooner and stronger in subsequent pregnancies?

cluelessnchaos · 10/03/2010 13:32

floweringcurrant, I found the symptoms stronger in pg 2 and 3 but so far I am getting off quite lightly, I think partly because I have enough going on to keep my brain occupied, on my days off like today I feel tired headachy and sick, on days I am working, like yesterday, I felt full of energy and no problems, my thing is sleep, if I dont get enough of it I am a horror.

BayeauxT · 10/03/2010 13:59

Hello, could I add my name to the list too - due 1st November. I've booked a private scan at 8 weeks (after a MMC at 12 weeks last year)... it still seems like AGES away (especially as I found out I was pg 5 days before my due date!) I'm not going to arrange my booking-in appointment until after the scan, as otherwise I feel like I'm tempting fate or something!

Womblegarten · 10/03/2010 15:47

Hello everyone and welcome to all the newcomers! Has anyone suddenly been struck down with terrible MS in the last couple of days? I'm now at 6 weeks and suddenly feel really terrible! I haven't actually been sick but fighting nausea most of the day. Also got a headache too. Part of me is really happy that I'm having strong symptoms after previous mcs but the other half just wants to crawl into bed and hibernate!

hmmSleep · 10/03/2010 15:59

Welcome BayeauxT

floweringcurrant, I found both my previous pregnancies pretty much the same, and this one seems to be heading the same way too.

Fantastic news fifisboys, glad all is well!

I hate pregnancy, good job I know it's all worth it in the end! Feeling very sorry for myself today, still feeling seriously sick, threw up 5 times this morning and the thought of weeks and weeks of this is getting me down, remind me it's all worth it, think it's the fact we still have to go about our day to day lives pretending we feel great doesn't help, dreading having to cook the kids dinner in half an hour, just know it's going to make me want to throw up again!

Finally booked my GP appointment, week tomorrow, should be 7 weeks by then so hopefully booking in, scan etc will follow shortly after.

hmmSleep · 10/03/2010 16:01

xpost Womblegarten

This is going to sound awful, but I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling so ill now we've hit the 6 week mark, quite incredible the difference between how I felt Sunday to how I've been feeling past 3 days!! Let me know if you find anything that helps!

Womblegarten · 10/03/2010 16:14

hmmSleep That's exactly it - was feeling fairly ok over the weekend with just occasional waves of sickness but now it's pretty constant!!
So far the only thing that seems to help is eating regularly but I think I need to get some ginger things in to survive the next few weeks!
