Same for me!
Step daughter (16) said to me last night 'are you not having any wine tonight?' I mumbled something about trying to lose weight and how many calories there are in a glass of wine - not sure I fooled her either

ChryedFan · 07/03/2010 09:39

Morning all, I see some of you have had your first GP appointments - mine is tomorrow. This is my first, can anyone tell me what to expect?

ChryedFan · 07/03/2010 09:43

Addictedtomn are we not even allowed Mayo? Blimey I need to check the rules. Been good on the no alcohol/soft/blue cheese thing, but had loads of mayo

Romilly70 · 07/03/2010 10:58

Hi Everyone,

It is great to be "in the club" and in the Nov2010 antenatal club!

I was majorly naughty before I got my BFP. (Had already had a BFN when I was 3 days late,) so went skiing for the day (first time in 20 years, however only fell over twice.) Also stuffed my face with blue cheese and brie (oops!)

Am being good now though. Although trying not to pig out as i was already 12 stone when i conceived, and am terrified of putting on about 3 stone and my legs giving way....

By the way, has anyone else had really bad insomnia? I've been wide awake at 4am and the only thing which seems to still all the crazy thoughts running through my head is my pregancy yoga DVD (just the breathing and relaxation session, not the 70 mins practise!!)

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 07/03/2010 11:43

You are allowed shop bought jar mayo, what they do not recommend is freshly made mayonaise as that can contain raw egg.

Ebb · 07/03/2010 12:18

Hello everyone. Feeling better today, thankyou, although still exhausted and nauseous. Not sure if it's bug related or pregnancy related though!

I'm quite good re. Eating things. The one thing I miss is runny eggs. I know you can get eggs from salmonella vaccinated chickens but not sure if it's worth the risk. I'm veggie so a lot of things don't apply to me anyway.

Chryedfan I saw the doctor on Friday and she just got her little date calculator out, asked me the first day of my last period, checked I was taking colic acid and that was about it. She signed my maternity exemption form and I made a booking in appointment with the midwife. I think in my last ( unsuccessful ) pregnancy the Dr checked my bp and my weight.

I have only told my ex boss I'm pregnant. She's a GP and has had 2 mc's herself and was so supportive when I mc'd. I doubt I'll tell anyone til my scan mainly because I can't get excited due to my previous mc. Does that make sense?

Still hormones must be fairly strong as I noticed I was leaking a bit of milk when I was in the shower! I stopped bf ds a year ago.

addictedtomn · 07/03/2010 13:50

you can have shop bought mayo but not the home made stuff, my mil makes loads of the stuff and i forget i cant eat it!

ChryedFan · 07/03/2010 13:53

Hi Ebb thanks for you post, it sounds like the first appt is trauma free . I still haven't told anyone yet as most of my mates waited until their 12 week scan before they went public, and I still don't feel in any way pregnant (I hope that's not a bad sign!). Think I'll see how tomorrow goes, then if all seems OK, tell my mam next weekend. LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune thanks for the mayo clarification. I can breathe a sigh of relief!

Babybean1 · 07/03/2010 14:17

Ebb that def makes sense about being worried. I'm worried and this is only my first time of getting pregnant! Think we've waited so long I feel extra cautious!

Have been really good so far with the 'rules', although was strange that on the day I got my BFP I reaaally wanted a runny boiled egg, even though I very rarely eat eggs! Steered clear though as don't want to risk anything!

I'm getting my hair dyed on friday and have heard the dye could be damaging if it's on the scalp, has anyone heard this??

Womblegarten · 07/03/2010 17:14

Hi everyone! Can I join too? I have been lurking for a little while but decided to join you all. I'm due on the 4th November with baby no. 1 after having had 2 mcs previously. Feeling quite nervous but can't help getting excited and starting to plan.... just hope this one works out! Symptoms so far are really sore boobs, mild cramping which has now eased a bit, occasional waves of nausea, extreme tiredness and constant hunger. I'm going to the doctor on Thursday to book the pregnancy in and hopefully should get an early scan after having had the 2 mcs.
Wishing everyone lots of good wishes and so glad we're all in it together!

Hi all, just popping in to see what you're all up to. Am due DC4 on 30th October so, maybe October, maybe November. Will spend some time on each bus if that's okay with you and not too trolloppy!

I saw you Libra - we were on July 2008. I had DS3 on 12 July. He's gonna be over the moon to be a big brother. Maybe.

VodkaGirl77 · 07/03/2010 18:09

Hello

Just been reading through the posts - welcome to all the newly BFP'd and congratulations!

Honeymoo - so glad to hear your scan news - sounds like all is going ok.

It was my dp's 40th birthday on Friday so have had a few days of celebrations - started on Wednesday with a tea party with my dds, then went to the only Michelin starred restaurant in Yorkshire on Thursday for a special meal, Friday was surprise drinks with all his friends and last night was a surprise meal with his family! He didn't have a clue about any of the surprises, and was very very pleased. I, however, have had a few days of having to watch people getting drunk while I have stayed sober - not totally fun, but worthwhile of course. And my friend guessed immediately that I was pg as soon as she saw me with a soft drink - maybe I drank too much before

Hope everyone's well

mumcha · 07/03/2010 19:50

congrats all i to am due in november bout the 5th. very very worried and praying this baby sticks .

LadyBee · 07/03/2010 20:00

Ok I'm going to throw caution to the winds and join in this club . I got my BFP last Wednesday, and tested again yesterday (just for reassurance!) I've got a rubbish cold so can't quite be sure whether I feel tired because of that or if it's a symptom - it's my only one at this stage if it is. I'm hoping for some more tbh, as I've had a previous early miscarriage and would feel slightly less anxious if I felt sicker , still I know my queasiness didn't kick in until week 7 last time, so I'm just trying to be patient. Haven't made a GP appointment yet, guess that's a job for this week, and haven't told anyone although I'll probably tell a couple of close girlfriends soon. I've got a DS, just about 2, and we were trying for about 5 months.

This still doesn't feel quite real. But I'm trying not let my fears about MC stop me from enjoying these early weeks.

oh I'm also very crampy every evening about this time...it makes me very jumpy each evening dashing upstairs to knicker-check, but so far it's just aches and no spotting thank goodness.

rollerbaby · 07/03/2010 20:21

Evening everyone.

Vodka sounds like you've had a lovely weekend, although agree watching everyone get pissed not so much fun.

I had a girls night on Friday and was basically falling asleep at the table by 1030... was so tired it was painful.

Ebb I didn't know you could get milk so early! I guess only if you've already had a little one... the thought of having milky boobs is something I have not quite come to terms with!

Romilly my insomnia/weeing from 4am is now well established. It's like an internal alarm clock every night and it's bloody annoying considering I could really do with the kip right now.

As for me had a really nice sunday lunch and dog walk in the sunshine and then went home for an afternoon nap. Bliss.

Off to meet our consultant at C&W tomorrow afternoon. Not sure if this is a booking in or just an initial appt, but have lots of questions so looking forward to it. In case anyone wonders, yes we've decided to spend our life savings and go privately given the many many horror nhs stories from friends.

By the way - whats the final story on prawns? And crab? They are cooked seafood right?

Hi ladybee I've had some cramping too which has scared me a bit, but after reading lots I'm taking it as a good sign as it means my bodys getting ready for the new arrival! Let's just hope it stays that way!

Have just read a really sad story on baby centre about a lady who had an eptopic pg at 7 weeks which has worried me! Really wish I didn't read it now! Fingers crossed for all of us and spreading lots of baby dust!! Sorry to lot be positive.......just still scared as it's early days!!

Has everyone got MS?? I have only been feeling sick but not actually been sick yet! In a very odd way j would kind of like to be sick!!!!

cluelessnchaos · 07/03/2010 20:34

noticed LLJ4 and I were missing from list so adding us on, I was always major insomniac in previous pregnacies, it was usually my first symptom but sleeping like a log and the odd nap in the day as well, not sick yet, boobs are very tender and dh says i am really bad tempered.

Clueless I have been a total witch to my husband this weekend. And at the other end, crying at anything and everything. Feel like a nut.

Dh is used to it and is laughing which really infuriates me and then makes me laugh

LadyBee · 07/03/2010 21:32

that would infuriate me for sure!

I've been waking at 4 the last few nights - hadn't thought about it being a symptom, just thought another cold thing, or the heating going on and being thirsty.

rollerbaby · 07/03/2010 21:49

Definitely very thirsty all the time... and FREEZING. Apparently its because all the blood is in my uterus so makes you feel cold.
