Congratulations mychelle!
Is it true about the eternity ring? Great news, I'll have to mention it to DH (it'll have to be on the arrival of no. 2 though, coz we've missed the boat with DD)
Sorry I haven't been on here for a while - everything is happening this month. I'm doing a degree part time through the OU and two of the courses end this month, one with an exam, one with a residential school, so busy revising. This, in conjunction with a close friend's wedding, the launch of Harry Potter (I work in the book industry), working full time, looking after DD and being pregnant in this heat, is knackering me out!
Still, thought I could include this as revision as DQ and Nemo were discussing blood pressure, and I'm studying human biology. So here we go:
Blood pressure includes two values. As you know, the heart contracts and relaxes when beating. The higher number (systolic) is recorded just after your heart has contracted, and pushed blood out of your heart, meaning it will be moving at quite high pressure (hence the figure is higher). The diastolic pressure (the lower one) is recorded when the heart is relaxed and filling with blood.
There isn't a fixed threshold for high blood pressure (that's why they monitor you over a period of time and establish what's normal for you, then any major deviation from that is considered worthy of investigation), but if you are under 40, anything below 140/90mmHg is considered normal. If you are over 40, you can do 100 + your age for average systolic which gives you a little more leeway.
Does this make any sense?
On the baby front, I'm determined to get started on TP tuesdays, but haven't got round to it. Next week, I promise. Had a midwife appt yesterday and heard baby's heartbeat. V. reassuring. And have finally felt him / her move, although not regularly yet (I was lying on my stomach doing some revision - obviously baby objected to the lack of space available!)
Anyway, keep posting! I don't get to post much but love reading about what's going on...
