OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MINNIE1 · 03/08/2005 11:13

We did that on Sat night, had a lovely dinner lit the fire and watched a movie. It was nice cause we havent done that in a while. went to bed and the mood was fine and the sex was fine. Topped it off with a lovely nights sleep. I felt more relaxed and was in the mood.

MINNIE1 · 03/08/2005 11:15

LOL SH have alot of that but the bras and knickers dont fit!!!! what does fit looks silly with the bump lol...

sweetheart · 03/08/2005 11:19

They should market a range of maternity stuff - god they'd make millions!!!!!!!

Ummmm, perhaps I'll have to start my own company

MINNIE1 · 03/08/2005 11:32

There is a gap in the market for it!!

starrynight · 03/08/2005 13:54

Hi hereshoping - I thought you had an 18 yo and a 26 yo for a while there!

Stretchmarks - In my 1st pg I creamed my tum 6 or 7 times a day (without fail) and got a load of stretchmarks at about 38 wk mark. And with each pg, as I said, got them in different places. Once you have the baby they seem so inconsequential though - god you would do far more than bear stretchmarks for them!

Sex- weeeellllll, I've been knackered for years really but when I talk to friends about how much we 'do it' they seem to think its loads and loads (only 2-3 times a week!) and if I can't be bothered I tell him to go and get the tissues out (why would you be worried about that???).

I think that your sex life will be different for a while especially after the birth when you have to renegotiate your relationship on loads of different levels - so its a good idea to think about that now! (about 20% of couples haven't had sex a year after the birth of their first baby - its a major life change!!) Hope you feel better about that soon Minnie.

Good luck with your appt Sh.

I dreamt that my baby died again last night -eugh horrible dream.

MINNIE1 · 03/08/2005 14:33

I think i have a abcess in a back tooth now!!!! Its just not my day!!! Have the dentist at 4.00 so at least thats somthing!!! Why me!!

Thomcat · 03/08/2005 15:50

hi girls, how's it gpoing today?
i feel huge as have drink so much water and cranberry juice.
i have cystitis and it's awful. Just painful and have been to the loo which is on the next floor down, about 18 times.
Still the holiday was great iykwim, nudge, nudge,

starrynight · 03/08/2005 16:02

Hence the cystitis

sweetheart · 03/08/2005 16:07

yeah

Been to mw and heard little beans heartbeat!!! He was kicking about lots, I don't think he likes being poked by the midwife

TC - you saucy little minx you!!!

Just for general info, it looks like the pain I've been getting may be my sciatic nerve. The baby has been more active on one side and my mw thinks that he may be sitting on a nerve. It would fit in as the baby tends to keep to my right which is where all my pain has been.

starrynight · 03/08/2005 16:13

Oh great, Sciatica thats all you need! :-(

Did she have any advice?

sweetheart · 03/08/2005 16:15

oh dear, is that bad then??? She didn't seem to worried about it.

She said to try and sit or lay to the opposite side to try and encourage the baby to move over. Also not to sit in one position for too long and to move around.

starrynight · 03/08/2005 16:49

I don't know - if its just the baby sitting on that nerve prob easy to deal with and Ok. I've heard sciatica is more difficult (I think its when that nerve is trapped) not uncommon in pg. I bet swimming would help.

sweetheart · 03/08/2005 16:51

lol swimming!!!

dh and I took dd swimming a couple of weeks ago and I had alot of trouble. Swimming on my front I kept getting dragged down and on my back my bum/tummy area kept sinking.

I'm so huge I don't even float anymore!!!! sob sob....

ei23mummy · 03/08/2005 22:29

sweetheart · 04/08/2005 09:44

Morning everyone,

Wow, quiet over last night!!!

Well it's time to say WOOHOO As of today I officially have only 4 months left to go

Welcome to the thread ei, it's lovely here. Congrats on your 1st bubba!!!!

MINNIE1 · 04/08/2005 09:53

ei23mummy,
Welcome, This is my first too and i have to say i have learned loads from this thread. The ladies here are just fab i am 19 weeks today.

SH,
A girl i work with had a sciatic nerve, she was in pain with it as the baby was sitting right on the nerve. But she has a fine healthy little girl now. It will be painfull but no harm to bubs. I also find i am carring bubs on the right side.

Went to the dentist yesterday and all he could do was to burst the abcess!! i have to keep washing my mouth out with salt and water (yuk) but it feels alot better.

How are you all this morning?

bonkerz · 04/08/2005 09:54

morning girls, not much to say really. Didnt get very much sleep last night as fred decided to do hokey cokey on my bladder and play with my lowest rib!! SO UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!!!
Have been arguing with DH again about his lack of excitement and general input into plans for fred etc. Is it just my dh or do you lot have unhelpful and unemotional daddies too??
Week off next week and really need a break! Working with kids is so tireing!! Have no enthusiasm at all!! Am being a c##p childminder at present!!

MINNIE1 · 04/08/2005 09:55

sweetheart
YIPPPPEEEEE O i cant wait

MINNIE1 · 04/08/2005 09:58

bonkerz,

Dont get me started on DP cause i would take the whole thread down!! Mine is driving me mad at the mo, I was worried about our sex life yesterday, Today i could swing for him!!!
Does your read books and take an interest?

sweetheart · 04/08/2005 10:15

Minnie - yuk Your story about your abcess made me gag!!!!!

As for dh/dp's - I've learn that the best way not to get annoyed with mine is to expect nothing!!! He's not entusiastic about anything and maons when I read books about pregnancy. He didn't even ask me how my mw appt went yesterday. When I mentioned it he said "you didn't come home crying so I knew everything was OK"

Also when I told him about the sciatica he said I was moaning about nothing!!!!!!

I wouldn't mind - but he played golf the other week, put his back out and spent the rest of the week moaning about how much it hurt!!!

Bloomin men - don't you just love em

bonkerz · 04/08/2005 10:15

Mine is distant! When i get out my doppler he mumbles about me being paranoid, i try and explain i love listening to fred but he doesnt undertsand. I have a pile of things i have bought in the spare room and he hasnt once looked at them! When i asked him to touch my belly the other night he got cross with me and said that fred wasnt here yet!! That made me mad cos if he isnt here yet HWY is he kicking me etc...
He has a dughter from another relationship and keeps mentioning that he didnt talk to ex belly etc so why should he do it for me!!
When i had ds my exp was unsupportive and uninvolved too and i just cant help feeling deja vue!(sp)
Also i would have thought that it being OUR first baby and losing 2 before this one that he would feel the same as me but im SOOO wrong! and if he does he doesnt tell me!

scully · 04/08/2005 10:21

Last time my dp read books and was interested in decisions etc. This time he has less time but I still keep him involved by emailing him a link each week for the development changes happening to me and bump which I copy off the net. Figure he's unlikely to look it up himself, but he is always interested and excited to read how it's all developing.
Only other planning we've managed is to think about when we'll go into the loft to sort through what we stored when dd was a baby! We're thinking September sometime we should do this! I'm not in denial but doesn't seem real most of the time that we will have a 2nd child with us in 4 mths
At the moment we're both too pre-occupied with finishing the major renovations before October, when the weather changes and his study begins. I'm much more obsessive about that than the baby at the moment!

MINNIE1 · 04/08/2005 10:35

S/H,
sorry hun it was way TMI!!! but its all better now.

Bonk,
Are you sure your DH isnt my DP!! Bloody men

sweetheart · 04/08/2005 11:26

My dd is far more interested than my dh is whats happening with this bubba. She's even asked me to get her a book with week by week diagrams of how the baby is growing - does anyone know of one of these. I popped into our local book shop but all they had was story book, I was a factual book for her.

Dh has tried to feel kicking occasionally but he normally maons that it's taking too long or that he's sitting uncomfortably!!

Although he did paint the nursery and put the furniture together so thats something at least!!

I just don't think men have the same perception of the bump as us. They can't feel everything we can. I feel sorry for them in that aspect!!

scully · 04/08/2005 11:35

yep, men prefer to do practical things I think - most guys I know are very excited when their partner is expecting, but just don't want to talk about it constantly! guess it impacts their lives more afterwards, whereas we are dealing with it from the start.
mind you, my hormones have been impacting dh's life this week, I reached new levels of grumpiness and being impatient
