HELLO!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sweetheart · 14/07/2005 14:36

on the subject of rings.......

Your supposed to get your eternity ring after the birth of your 1st child aren't you!!! Well, we weren't married when I had dd - we got engaged when I was about 4 months pregnant. So I didn't get my eternity ring after the birth (what with planning a wedding and all!!!)

So, I've been dropping massive massive hints for my ring after this ones been born!!! I think after 5 years it's only fair

goldenoldie · 14/07/2005 14:39

Drama - No: 4 - you go girl! Are you gonna call it a day after this one? Or are you gonna ask the hossie to put a zip in for you!

kangel · 14/07/2005 14:40

goldenoldie - I am convinced this is a boy but am so desperate for a girl - I should just be glad i've got one on the way, but I'm so not doing this again to try for a girl if this is a boy, of which I am 99% sure it is.

Sh- I could just do with a paddling pool under my desk, am currently walking round in bear feet, they are burning hot at the moment!

dramaqueen72 · 14/07/2005 14:42

LOL golden, yes I really think this one is 'it' altho I said that last time (see post about having no baby equipment whatsoever- I gave it away!) so am now 'wise' enough to never say never!
s/h yes i belive its trad. after baby number one.....so I'm owed!! big time!

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 14:44

For everyone feeling too hot in their offices - sit near a fan and also go and buy something called Magicool.

here

You can get it at Boots or Superdrug. Its a spray can thing - sprays a fine and cooling mist over you - we use it at home for me and dd and it's fab stuff!!!!

goldenoldie · 14/07/2005 14:44

Boss away today so will sneak off home a bit early.

Bump measuring 41 inches now. Finding it hard to balance in the shower when washing hair, and even harder to blow-dry afterwards - might just have to go to hairdresser from now on! At least till babies arrive then I won't care what hair looks like anyway.

dramaqueen72 · 14/07/2005 14:46

mychelle i live in southampton too....woohoo, someone nearby!
kangel- my first was ds, and he was the sweetest most loving baby ever. promise whatever you feel you 'want' will be replaced by absolute love for whatever you have.
also have two dd's. dd1 is moody and hard work (just about to turn 11, thinks shes 21.......) and dd2 is cute but stroppy........they arent all sugar and spice, despite what the nursery rhyme says

kangel · 14/07/2005 14:54

DQ - Have always wanted my little girl ever since I was old enough to think about it. I live with my DP who has a 5 year old dd and believe me she has never got out of her terrible 2's. I've got it into my head that coz he already has a dd that this is a ds. Like you said I am hoping that if it is a ds the feelings will come flooding through and I wont care! I wish the feelings I have would go now though as I am getting quite worried and am too busy worrying about it to enjoy being pregnant!

I should just be grateful.

dramaqueen72 · 14/07/2005 15:00

actually kangel -I'll let you into a secret; every single pg woman has a preference, even if she doesnt say so. its really normal, its just havinghad three preferences (and not always getting what i 'wanted') before now I can really say those 'love'feelings WILL come flooding in after birth, TBH this time I think boy also and feel tiny twange of disappointment -my two dd's are the only ones in both our families for YEARS and so extra special fuss made when they were born. but i hang on to the thought I KNOW i wont mind if it is a boy once he arrives. try to stay positive about having either -there are pros and cons about both you know!- and enjoy this bump!

Nemo1977 · 14/07/2005 15:07

hello all tons of messages again

mychelle congrates on ur little girl and engagement

kangel i can understand the wanting a DD i would like a girl this time although if its a boy dh has conceded we can have one more go so to say..lol

SH glad u felt baby a bit just do mars bar n can of something sugary and u will feel the baby bouncing

DQ after no.4 u deffo need ur ring i got one after having ds but only because i went on and on and on about it..lol

George when i was working i bought leg cooling spray which was fab for legs n feet althought that magicool spray looks good especially if u can use it on kids too so may go to boots tommorow for a nose.

not a lot to report here have cut the grass, tidied garden, bathed dog and been for some shopping. Am now shattered and dont want to move. Nothing to do now apart from keep ds entertained and to make tea..i could do with hoovering but dh has left hoover upstairs and i dont like to carry it when pg as its quite heavy and i am very very accident prone...or is thatr just an excuse

kangel · 14/07/2005 15:07

Thanks DQ i'll try and hold onto those thoughts. At the moment I feel heartbroken at having a boy (and so guilty for saying it, at the end of the day its innocent and didn't ask to be brought into this world).
I think of not having my girl and just cry.

Anyway I'll stop putting a dampner on this site and will let you girls carry on.

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 15:16

DQ - sorry to play devils advocate but can I just disagree!!!

After what happened I can honestly say I don't care what this baby is - so long as it's healthy.

george32 · 14/07/2005 15:22

I know I shouldn't have a preference, with everytihg that has happened, but I can't help wanting a girl what with having so many boys in the house already!!
I need to decorate something in pink

I'd forgotten about the magicool spray. Trouble is it is too hot to get to boots now!! I have just doused myself in water & am dreaming of a paddling pool. I'll have to let DP loose with the hose tonight.

Nemo - OMG!! Has someone found some energy or what. Sit down please!! You are making me tired

mychelle · 14/07/2005 15:23

Its healthy, its all good - thats what i reckon!

I'm glad you mentioned about the sugar. Each lunch i have my one bit of caffine - can of coke at lunch. Sure enough after lunch i get loadsa movement.

Ladies tomorrow i'm off to ITALY for a well deserved holiday for a week. If you hear reports of a beached whale in Italy - thats me. I just hope they dont call the coast guard. Feeling weird about bikinis.

However, went swimming as this is suppose to be good and boyf came with me. I had the giggles the whole time. Cheated a bit tho as it was rapid time, so swimming wasnt such a chore!

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 15:38

I'm sooo jelous - I need a holiday

Have a lovely time mich - you wear your bikini with pregnant pride

starrynight · 14/07/2005 15:43

Hand on heart I don't have any preferences either. And since my nephew was born with DS I have stopped saying 'as long as its healthy' too. I just don't say anything now!

starrynight · 14/07/2005 15:44

Bikinis not with my flabby belly (avid bikini fan when non-pg though)

mychelle · 14/07/2005 15:46

Bikinis are easy to put on at least. Dresses from last summer can fir, but me be put on over the head in order to get around the hips difficulty.

Can i just say my ankles have disappeared - SWOOOOLLLENN!

We decided in Italy for clean and tidy restaurants, no worry about the water or food giving dodgy stomachs and the health service should be good. Also with clotting more prone whilst in the air whilst preggers i didnt want a long flight.

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 15:52

I would noramlly avoid bikini's coz of my wobbly bits but they seem to have firmed up a bit since being preg - perhaps pregnancy is the only time I would wear a bikini!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 14/07/2005 15:54

okay okay, MOST pg ladies have at least a slight preference
tho i have to say this time round its very low on my list -what sex it is- things like obviously healthy/ on time/getting to hospital before giving birth/ no complications with delivery are nearer the top!
LOL at thought of me in bikini. stretch marks and bikini dont go, trust me, today have tight fitting vest top on and am getting much looking from passers by......... but am brazen it out anyway!

scully · 14/07/2005 15:56

I agree dq, I think most people have a small preference at some point during the pregnancy. I did last time, but did kept it to myself as I didn't want the world knowing.
This time around I don't mind, as we have dd now. ds might be nice though, as I come from a family of 3 girls and I would rather not have single sex siblings. But I'll guess I'll know in around 22 wks and will cope with what we're blessed with!
Congrats Mychelle, lovely story about your dp and your dd

scully · 14/07/2005 15:58

i'm with you sh, pregnancy also the only time I would contemplate a bikini.......she says having just eaten a piece of chocolate cake from thorntons

kangel · 14/07/2005 16:06

ooooh 22 weeks sounds so soon, I'm scared!! - yet Christmas sound ages away!!!

Would just like to let you all know that I bought my first Christmas Present today - am trying to be organised, and trying to spread the cost!

scully · 14/07/2005 16:08

I like it even better that I finish work in 18wks tomorrow, all going well

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 16:10

ohhhhhh scully!!!!

Thorntons choc cake is just the nicest cake in the whole world !!!!

I'm so jelous!!!!!!
