HELLO!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sweetheart · 14/07/2005 11:02

now I wish I'd brought a doppler!!!

Thomcat · 14/07/2005 11:12

Hmmmmm, well my midwife is a one to one and she was away for a bit and this was her 1st opportunity to see me. Have you all been seen loads by yours and your GP etc. i've had 5 nerve wrecking awfully scary scans and now I'm waiting for my first 'nice' appt tomorrow.

Feel a bit, like I'm massively missing out.

And I want some movement now.

goldenoldie · 14/07/2005 11:17

Sweet - both my placenta's are at the front which means I don't feel half the movement I did with my last pregnancy when placenta was at the back.

At this stage last time (19/20 weeks)I was getting very firm pushes and prods. This time all I feel is very gentle strokes, and I if I put my hand over the spot I can just feel something moving underneath - but it is slight.

Doppler def. puts my mind at rest tho. If I were worried, and did not have doppler I would pop down to hossie or GP and get them to have a listen.

I'm sure everything is OK.

Thomcat · 14/07/2005 11:25

Sweet, I'm worried agian too baes, feels never ending, it so wasn't like this with Lottie.
I feel fine, totall okay. Went to a wedding on Saturday and danced loads again and legs felt a bit more tired than usual and I was deffo tired on Sunday but nothing major. had no movements or anything at all even slightly. not seen a midwife yet, all appts have been terrifying ordeals!

Ist time pregnancies are so much easier all round than the first, well in my experience anyway.

Thank God I'm seeing someone tomorrow as I feel all jittery and newrvous agina today and I was so relaxed before.

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 11:44

I've spoken to the hospital - they said to pop over but I just can't bring myself to - not after last time.

She said I could ring my sugery at 1.30 when the mw will be available. She might sqeeze me in. She said all the usual, sit quietly, have a drink. I've tried all that.

MINNIE1 · 14/07/2005 11:47

Thomcat
Best wishes tomor, The nerves are awful. I even had them going to the doctor..

sweetheart,
Have you rang the MW? I am sure everything is fine, but if your worried i would ring MW.

MINNIE1 · 14/07/2005 11:57

S/H ,
Go to your MW at 1.30 try and relax (easier said then done) It could be the plencta in the way.
Roll on 1.30!!!
Are you at work ?

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 11:58

TC, it's horrible isn't it. I felt such a pain for ringing the hospital. When she said come over I really paniced and said it was a bit difficult. I'm sure she thinks I'm a right fraud now. I just don't want to go there after last time.

I'll ring my sugery again at 1.30 if I've still felt nothing.

Just want to go home and cry!!

george32 · 14/07/2005 12:14

Oh SH, I so sorry you are so worried. Go to see your midwife at 1.30pm and she should be able to help. I'm sure everything will be fine but it must be a terrible worry for you.

dramaqueen72 · 14/07/2005 12:25

s/h hope you can fit in a visit to the midwife, I am sure its nothing, such an early stage to be feeling movement, (midwifes 'worry' after 24wks if no movement) everyones very right , its prob asleep/turned round/etc. my babys have always been active in the evenings, and at night. oj is a good sugary 'active' drink to try and see if baby moves.
thomcat, youre not missing anything much! had very uneventful, quick, and almost boring appointemtn yesterday with my midwife. i wait for ages to see her, and then it was in and out!

bonkerz · 14/07/2005 12:31

sh, keep calm, you and bean will be fine. Go midwife at 1.30 and explain exactly how oyu feel. Im sure all is well. It is just awful how none of us can completely relax about these babies isnt it. Thinking of you.

Im feeling good today, no bleeding etc and feel calm thanks to having week off work, am using doppler a few times a day to help with niggles of doubt. Have midwife at 1.30 just to check on possible thrush! At 4pm i am throwing a party for my 5 year old and 30 of his friends! Have been pottering around all morning preparing food and stuff, luckily i have a group of amazing friends who are meeting me at the hall to do all the heavy lifting and stuff!! Am going to get changed now into a tight top to make me look even more pregnant!!

kangel · 14/07/2005 13:17

SH - try to keep calm, mine is pretty quiet today, hardly felt it at all - we all have those lazy days and i'm sure its the same for our beans!

Go to your appointment and have your mind put at ease. I'm sure your bean is fast asleep dreaming of the real world.

Fingers crossed for you - let us know how you get on.xxx

mychelle · 14/07/2005 13:31

hello all - thought i'd get my bum in gear and post.

Last week had some cramps on wednesday through out the day - felt no movement so went to hospital to get them to check. They were great. I didnt have a heart beat they could find. They did a scan and all was ok - i was told to take it easy.

I had my 20 week scan today and all was good - scratching its back and fidgeting loads. Feeling lots too!

We were told the sex today too, but i dont know if you girlies wanted to know?

kangel · 14/07/2005 13:33

ooohhhh tell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 13:46

I've decided not to go to the mw. I went home at lunch time and had a lay down. Think I felt a few small movements so I've decided to take it easy today and see what happens this evening.

Dh was home and he said to lay down on the sofa this evening and ust wait and see. Hopefully I'll feel something by tomorrow. If not then I will be at the surgery beating the door down.

Mychelle - so, what are you having???

mychelle · 14/07/2005 14:05

Sweetheart - taking it easy is the best spesh it this hot weather. Temptation is to do lots, but take little breaks thats what i'm doing. I didnt feel baby flutter around until sunday - agonising from Wednesday. 5 days of worry, but all was ok. I hope that helps to put your mind at ease a little.

Its a little girl. No doubt she will be daddies little girl!

We have 3 names we like for girls. we cant make up our minds and we have plenty of time, so I have made a decision to confirm the name when born.

At the weekend I bought my boyf a fliying lession over the solent. I sat in the back and enjoyed the view. On the way back he handed over the controls to the pilot and got our a ring and proposed. After being dumb struck i remember that i should say yes out loud. So we are engaged! No wedding until end of July next year, dont think the stress would do me any favours AND that means i can hit the sales once i start getting back to normal size!

MINNIE1 · 14/07/2005 14:09

mychelle,

Congrads OMG that is so sweet. what a way to do it, and a little flower girl too..

george32 · 14/07/2005 14:12

Mychelle, huge congratulations to you. How romantic And so pleased for you having a little girl.

Sh, I'm glad you have felt some movements, how reassuring for you.

Anyone else too too hot today? Just been out shopping at lunchtime (Formes sale so credit card taking another beating!) and am now soooooo hot. Really want to jump into a pool of icy water but unfortunately stuck at my desk for another 3 & 1/4 hours. Help me, how do I cool down?

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 14:13

Mych - congrats on your baby girl news. I have a daddies girl - but she's a mummies girl too

How come you had your 20 wk scan so early?? Are you still due on the 18th?? I'm due on the 4th and am not 20 wks until Sunday!!!

Well the bubba has moved a few times since last post so panic over. I guess it is the heat - and probably the fact I've spent the whole morning poking it. It's probably in a mood with me!!!

mychelle · 14/07/2005 14:24

sorry should have updated you all - midwife said 18th dec but scan now says around the 12th. I hoping to have the baby and make a guest appearance at our xmas work party, because i'm organising it and its going to be cool.

The theme this year (themes never been done before) is at the movies. I have already started taking film posters from sites and putting members of staffs faces in them. Mine is Kill Bill vol1.

Yes Minnie1 a flower girl, i cant wait. My family are all so very pleased. I was a bridesmaid 7 times and i thihnk they thought i was never gonna get hitched.

kangel · 14/07/2005 14:24

Congratulations on your baby girl!!!! I'm desperate for my little girl so I hope I have the same luck as you!

dramaqueen72 · 14/07/2005 14:32

s/h -phew, glad baby moving now:0
mychelle, wow how lovely- a baby girl and an egagement ring! perfect!! tell me AGAIN where are you from/ as i think you must of flown over our house dh has a helicopter flying lesson soon, a gift from me, tho theres no way i am getting in it!, and think another diamond ring is the last thing on his mind. (have mentioned 'need' one after birth of fourth baby tho!!)
george, run freezing water over inside of your wrists...blood close to surface there and cools it down or something, anyhow, feels v nice. and the best you can get if youre not allowed a sneaky paddling pool under desk! (can just picture you now with feet in one!)

kangel · 14/07/2005 14:32

I'm also due on the 12th!! Fingers crossed for 2 girls! Am so jealous now and want to know what mine is.

goldenoldie · 14/07/2005 14:35

Mychelle - how romantic.

Kangel - I was convinced I was having two girls, till last scan, when I found out it was two boys!

Over the halfway mark already - 19 weeks, as term is only 37 weeks for twinnies.

mychelle · 14/07/2005 14:36

Dramaqueen i live in southampton, but lesson was at Bournemouth airport. It was cool flew over soton, christchurch, Isle of wight, Poole and Weymouth - its mad it take 2 minutes to get around. I reckon its the way forward to beat traffic and one way systems.

By my reckoning you should get a diamond if this is your fourth - WOW!
