OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Nemo1977 · 13/07/2005 16:50

symphis pubis dysfunction
basically when bones in pelvis n hips soften sometimes it can cause a lot of pain and discomfort. I had to see physio last time and was told to wear these weird support shorts which seemed just like cycling shorts to me...it can be as extreme as needing a wheelchair

george32 · 13/07/2005 16:54

It sounds dreadful, I hope you don't get it again this time Nemo.

Right, I now need a glamerous fact about pregnancy please?

sweetheart · 13/07/2005 16:54

george - don't freek out. Most women get pelvic pain in pregnancy which is just down to the weight of the baby. In most cases it is not spd and most cases of spd are not anywhere near as severe as needing crutches or wheel chairs!!!!!!

I guess compaired with a long commute into London my journey is bliss!!! I'm useually home by 5.05pm.

sweetheart · 13/07/2005 16:55

glamourous fact - uummmmmm, well my skin has cleared up. I don't look like a spotty teenager any more

Nemo1977 · 13/07/2005 16:56

mmmmmm glamarous fact
ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm being able to eat what u wont and not worry about weight gain just yet

Nemo1977 · 13/07/2005 16:57

sweetheart · 13/07/2005 16:59

right - thats me done for the day, thank goodness.

Take care all, see you tomorrow!!!

george32 · 13/07/2005 17:00

Thanks guys - not all bad then!!
Nemo, what a pain. I bet he wishes he had painted or wallpapered straight over what was there already.

Has anyone found any nice summer tops that a maternity bra will fit underneath? Had a quick look in the shops today & I can't find anything.

george32 · 13/07/2005 17:01

Have a safe journey home SH (Grrrr!! )

Nemo1977 · 13/07/2005 17:04

george we couldnt cos it was the dreaded wood chip why o why did people use that stuff???????

george32 · 13/07/2005 17:05

because they had dodgy plaster to cover up!!!

Nemo1977 · 13/07/2005 17:06

pmsl very very true..although why i am surprised when these are the people who used duct tape to cover a huge crack in the wall and then paint over it

george32 · 13/07/2005 17:09

When I stripped the paper off our sitting room I found a big hole filled with newspaper!!! A stunning repair job!!

dramaqueen72 · 13/07/2005 19:23

evening ladies. at least nemo, if its a whole 'new plaster' of the room you have plenty of time to get it done. and it will be lovely after! I get spd, got it fairly badly with dd2 and am already clicking and creaking as i climb stairs and such such a horrible pain I couldnt even roll over in bed last time without crying.
saw my midwife today, abit uneventful, aside from low blood pressure (hence dizzy spells) anyone know anything about bloody pressure? whats the top number for? cause this is what cause some concern......tho like they then pointed out you cant 'fix low blood pressure anyhow. had to tell midwife where to find belly beans heartbeat she just didnt have the doppler where i have mine.....LOL (and sweetheart, my bean is 9times outa 10 low down too)
dh has depressed me, he commented how much more pg I was looking than actually am....gee they really know how to say the right thing dont they?
16wks and abit here george and not a kick from this guy either, abit dissappointed as i felt dd2 at 16wks, but midwife not even slightly bothered. she said to tell her if around 18-20wks i havent felt anything.
ninah hope ds is not too poorly?

Nemo1977 · 13/07/2005 19:31

ok i reall should spend less time on mn as am getting wound up by the scans thread...

DQ glad the midwife appointment was non eventful [in a good way of course]my bp is high apparently think its 120/90 at the min but thats better than last time which was 140/90

dramaqueen72 · 13/07/2005 19:45

thanks nemo, must go research blood pressure as i have no clue at all about what the numbers mean/stand for.
re the scan thread, I do actually get her point, alittle part of me doesnt want my 19wk scan as we wouldnt do anything if they foudn something out -iyswim, altho the sensible side of me agrees better to be prepared for anything 'wrong'.the early scans were essential to me however. i just didnt join in, people- like that- who have never had a m/c or a missed m/c can never understand us who have, however we put it across IMO, no wonder youre pressure is high hon, take it easy!

vicdubya · 13/07/2005 20:41

MINNIE1 · 14/07/2005 08:55

Can anyone tell me what its like to feel buba moving? I am feeling little thumps in my side and i dont kno wheather this is buba or what! .

Also have a pain in my side hip area when i get up in the mornings, Does anyone eles have this??

expatinscotland · 14/07/2005 09:22

Minnie
First, it feels like squirming around in your belly. Then, you'll start feeling a few random kicks.

I'm 17 weeks and feeling both squirming and random kicks.

Some babies tend to be more active at certain times of the day.

Mine are always more active after 4PM.

MINNIE1 · 14/07/2005 09:27

It feels like little thumps at the side of my belly, and i also can pick up the heatbeat there. O i relly hope this is little kicks. Do you think it is possible for this as this is my first buba and i am only 16wks today!!

bonkerz · 14/07/2005 10:29

definately possible minnie! Only you know what you are feeling but as this thread proves, all women are different, im only 15+4 but am definatley feeling kicks and have been feeling movement for 2 weeks now! With my first i felt butterflies at 14 weeks!
Fred seems to be kicking most at night but all day i get a flutter in my tum and its the strangest feeling.
Im getting stitch like pains in my hips and just below, think im just loosening up though!

MINNIE1 · 14/07/2005 10:37

bonkerz
the stich like pain is what i get and in the mornings i feel sore around the hip and lower bump, Even when i turn in the bed.

I will be waiting for the next little flutter of kicks, thumps. I am lovin this.

How are you feeling now B?

sweetheart · 14/07/2005 10:45

Someone please reassure me - I'm really panicing.

Had hardly any movements last night and not sure if I've had any today. Should I ring the mw??? I really frightened!!!

expatinscotland · 14/07/2005 10:54

Sweet
Mine went quiet for 2 days and then roared back into action. MW said baby at this stage still has a lot of room to move about. It's possible he/she is exploring a posterior part of the uterus and it isn't as easy for mummy to feel him/her.

george32 · 14/07/2005 10:55

Sh, ring if you are feeling stressed about it. That is what they are there for and it will put your mind at rest.
