MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 14:38

LOL why not you are being paid for it as am i!! PMSL...
Will check them out, am debating wheather to go home (will have to ask boss) I am shattered and have shit loads to do.

sweetheart · 12/07/2005 14:42

I popped off early yesterday with a headache - it makes such a difference.

I'd try and wangle an early finish if I were you - although your the only person here at the moment so...
please stay and talk to me !!!!!!

sweetheart · 12/07/2005 14:43

where's ninah when you need her - Don't tell me she's actually doing some work

And DQ - where are you!!!!!

sweetheart · 12/07/2005 14:43

And Nemo - she's been off msn all day too!!!

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 15:01

OMG i'm having a baby and i can get all them nice things. I know what you mean by getting carried away, there all so nice, the bedroom suites. Never really though about the bedroom. We dont have alot of room in the babys room as we have a double bed in there and a chest of drawers, will havr to work around them.
O look at all the nice things..
Do you have a special outfit for bubs when he/she is born. Like one your DD was in??

ninah · 12/07/2005 15:10

HELLOOO! yes work reared it's ugly head but not for long
I am buying blinds for ds new room downstairs, any recommendations for that? an odd window size 105 x 160 cm or at least that's what fits. May have to get some made. They need to be thick, or maybe I can just paint the windows black!
Before I do nursery I want to know gender so I am waiting til 20 week scan on 10th August then I will plan like mad. Decorater doesn't start downstairs til end August but ds will have a bit of time to settle in and not feel ousted. He's got a fab room tho, or it will be when the floor goes down and the walls are plastered. And it's near the loo, so must embark on night time training ..

I know - there is so much nice stuff, and it doesn't have to cost the earth either.

I haven't got a special outfit yet but I will get one. We had a white tracksuit for dd as we didn't know what she was.

We should find out the sex of this one next week though

ninah · 12/07/2005 15:13

no writing on the bum I hope!
Are you going to find out sh? brilliant! I hope to get a hint as well (not s'posed to tell us here tho) I know some people like a surprise but I get more excited anticipating a son/daughter, the surprise is what they actually look like (in fact everything is such a surprise at the end)

george32 · 12/07/2005 15:13

I'm glad it's not just me who ducks out of work early (or just doesn't turn up!!)

Special outfit, whats this about a special outfit???

Knowing me, I'll buy one & then forget to take it!!

ninah · 12/07/2005 15:14

I got one with dalmation markings and a matching hat but forgot to pack it

OP posts:
sweetheart · 12/07/2005 15:17

ninah - yeah your back!!! Forget work, come on here instead!!!

I'd say either have a blind made or Argos and B&Q do black out blinds that you can cut to size (I think) Have you had a look for one of those???

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 15:17

My sister did it with hers it was her DH first baby grow. All of hers had there feet out the end lol..

I would love to find out the sex but DP wont, I have been looking up the web to see if there are ways to find!! And if its a girl you should be able to see 3 white lines at her rear end.. Or somthing to that affect.

All the funiture for a babys room will be used again if not sell on. It is defo worth investing cause its all sooo nice.

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 15:20

ninah,
Are you going to have curtains in his room aswell, If you are you could get argos cut to size blinds and have the curtains black out. (my sister bough on for her bathroom cut to size)

Does that even make sense!!

sweetheart · 12/07/2005 15:21

I've brought a cot bed set of furniture and dd (who's 5) tested the cot out last night. She fits so at least I know the furniture will do us for a good few years.

My SIL had a private scan and the sonographer told her to look for a burger - which symbolizes a girl - similar to the 3 white lines theory.

George, I think the going home outfit is just an excuse to buy something nice for the baby to wear. We've kept dd's coming home outfit and it's in her box of memories. She'll be able to see how tiny she was when she grows up!!! It's a sentimental thing really

ninah · 12/07/2005 15:21

oh good, thanks sh
We have one in another room left by tenant who worked in B&Q, right size and he got it from there, but when dp went to look he couldn't find more. If they do blackout that's great, I'll go myself, bound to be more productive!
I don't think there's any point looking for sex yourself minnie. Deciphering those scans is misleading unless you've a trained eye. I think they look for bollocks ...

OP posts:
ninah · 12/07/2005 15:23

good idea too, minnie
what's this about white lines and burgers, I don't understand?

OP posts:
sweetheart · 12/07/2005 15:25

ninah, would this do????

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 15:25

We'll all be looking for burgers in our scan lol.. mine isnt til aug and bubs will have gotten so big!

Thats a nice idea about the box of memories. I have a book going at the mo of what is going on. DP kept all hers and there nice to look over.

sweetheart · 12/07/2005 15:25

They have other colours too!!!!

sweetheart · 12/07/2005 15:28

I got my memories box from here

I thought the burger thing was a bit odd too but apparently if you look at a burger side on you can see the bun, the burger, then the bun. Aparently that is what a girls bit's look like on a scan!!!! two white lips with a dark bit in the middle

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 15:30

They looks really good, thats perfect for bubas room. S/H your as handy.. You'll have my credit card maxed up lol..

The Three white lines are the genital of a girl, they shape like a burger. So watch out for burgers lol. You could guess the sex at your scan and then ask.

dramaqueen72 · 12/07/2005 15:31

either i have grown, or eaten alot of stuff....... lets go with the former:0

MINNIE1 · 12/07/2005 15:32

Love the boxes,

ninah · 12/07/2005 15:33

Thanks, they're good only I don't think you can cut to size
