HELLO!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sweetheart · 29/07/2005 16:38

my mc was at 17 week - I had to give birth which is why they gave me the anti D.

my assistant went through a similar thing when she had her baby last year - she doesn't intend on having any more children so refussed the jab.

Me personally I'd never like to say never again so I'll have the jab just incase - I know it hurts like hell but labours gotta be worse!!!!!

Nemo1977 · 29/07/2005 16:42

nobody has said anything about the injection to me this time and i dont remember it with ds..

Papillon · 29/07/2005 16:42

Starrynight I am 21 weeks - I think! Due 9 December. Its no. 2 baby, we have a dd who is 22 months today

Had a home birth last time and am planning another.

I have not even heard of anti d !!! probably because I have home visits from the midwife and so the medical side of pregnancy checkups is miniscule.

sweetheart · 29/07/2005 16:59

do either of you have a reahus negative blood group. Only women who have need anti d

starrynight · 29/07/2005 19:38

Yes, I think you would remember the jab! Its very painful. you're right though - labour is worse (clearly).

DH said the other day that he would be Ok with labour and birth as he has a higher pain threshold than me (we'll soon find out with comments like that!!!)

starrynight · 29/07/2005 19:40

Papillon what are you planning to do with DD? I was planning a hb this time (no.4) but as am due on 20th Dec was finding it hard to know what to do with the children as friends are away/have relatives staying and our nearest family is 1.5 hrs away so would be awful for the kids to be taken to their house. We have decided to opt for our local birth centre (stand alone mw unit) which is fab and we are relieved its sorted now.

bonkerz · 30/07/2005 08:58

morning all, caught up last night but not much to say really! Totally echo sweethearts post about positivity on this thread! You girls have got me through a otugh 4 months and im now looking forward to holding my bean, something i couldnt imagine 4 months ago!!

My boobs are now
oficially HUGE, and really really sore, took my bra off last night to discover i had leaked everywhere! Have had to wear a crop top thing all night with breast pads in!!Am so sore and they are really hot as well.
Am eating better and these anti biotics are not making me sick! DQ: what ones have you got?
Am off to town today cos its just me and ds all day which hardly ever happens!! Am gonna spoil my likle boy and maybe my bean again too!!

Papillon · 30/07/2005 09:27

Fair enough with 3 kids already Starrynight. Dd will be at home with us. Have no family here in Switzerland that I can rely on. Dh and the midwives can look after her. She knows the word push now... so she can help too

There was a thread about hb and kids recently I recall.

Thomcat · 31/07/2005 22:05

Hi girls, wow you've all been busy while I've been on my hols. Off camping on Thursday until Monday at the Big Chill but in-between hello to you all.
Holiday was fab, felt Mole move which is great, other than that I feel remarkably unpregnant. My boobs look bigger, and my bump is coming along nicely. 20 wk scen is on Tuesday.
TC x

dramaqueen72 · 01/08/2005 00:02

welcome back tc! good lcuk tuesday- my scan is on wednesday, will be 19.5wks. nervous rather than excited. i still just cant believe all is okay and normal. think you know maybe when they actually hadn me the baby I will believe it!

Toothache · 01/08/2005 09:11

TC - Goodluck for Tuesday!!!

scully · 01/08/2005 10:03

good luck with everyone and their scans this week - mine is next Monday!
have had an annoying headache since yesterday and can't shake it, not helping my mood, I must say.....
can think of other places I would rather be than at my desk right now

sweetheart · 01/08/2005 11:13

Morning everyone,

So exciting to see that lots of you have scans coming up this week - good luck to you all!!

We had a very busy weekend with decorating, I was in agony yesterday so dh let me take it easy - bless him. He's been very ethusiastic about decorating recently so I'm taking full advantage while it lasts - at this rate I may even have the house finished by the time bubba arrives

I'm hating being at work at the moment - can't believe I've got another 15 weeks before I can finish. I've just done next years holiday chart so I can paste my maternity leave all over it in a couple of weeks

22 weeks here - times starting to drag again!!!!

sweetheart · 01/08/2005 11:14

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH

Just seen the Due in April 06 thread has appeared - thats made me feel better !!!!!

Nemo1977 · 01/08/2005 11:16

oooooooooo due in april...i just had a bit of a panic cos i realised ds is 2 in 2 ths which means 4mths till baby...

Good luck to all with scans mine is a week tommorow and seems to have been a lifetime coming

scully · 01/08/2005 11:18

wish my dh would catch some of your dh's enthusiasm for diy, SH......he has good intentions during the week, but come the weekend, things seem to happen at snailspace. I've given him 2 mths to get the major jobs finished, as I don't want to be looking at several half done rooms come October!
don't think things are helped by me being hormonal and impatient thogh

sweetheart · 01/08/2005 11:52

My dh's sudden lust for DIY is down to the fact that a couple of months ago he got a digger and demolished our back garden!!!!

Now he doesn't know what to do - so he's diverting my attention by doing all the indoor stuff!!!!!!!!!!

scully · 01/08/2005 12:25

a digger
that would make me very nervous
some mcvites choc chip biscuits have helped my headache, much more effective than paracetemol

sweetheart · 01/08/2005 13:35

I had a go in it - I nearly tipped myslef over sideways

It isn't half as easy as it looks!!!!! Hence the reason my back garden currently resembles something you'd see on one of those DIY SOS type programmes

scully · 01/08/2005 14:58

it must look even better after all the rain we've had
police everywhere in the City again, not quite as bad as last Thurs, but definitely wanting their presence felt.....

goldenoldie · 01/08/2005 15:36

Just been to Ikea - big mistake, shop was very quiet but staff were incredably unhelpful. When I asked for help at the till - unloading trolley and packing (I am clearly very pregnant) guy on the till said no! He could not even be bothered to call for assistance - I had to walk off and find a supervisor.

About to send off complaint e-mail.

Doctor signed me off work for six weeks, and I'm supposed to be resting! Been struggling with travel/rush-hour and work in general for a while now. Doubt I will go back to work till the babies are about 6 months.

scully · 01/08/2005 15:44

We've found that at Ikea as well golden, complaining didn't achieve anything either, but better to tell them, than not.
Hope you get a chance to rest then, over the next month or so. Can well understand struggling with commuting etc, and I'm carrying just one baby!

sweetheart · 01/08/2005 15:55

GO,

It's great to hear you managed to get signed off work. I bet that must be a big relief - I only work 2 mins away from home and am already wishing I could be at home.

starrynight · 01/08/2005 16:10

have a look at this guys!

sweetheart · 01/08/2005 16:12

I have this picture as my screen saver - I think it's AMAZING!!!!!

Dh and I are going to try and re-create it when I'm much further along.

How fab would it be to have your own pic like that!!!!
