HELLO!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
starrynight · 01/08/2005 16:19

My DH thinks its a computer special effect not real. Have to say - I've never seen a foot outlined like that before. Normally just a lump though you can feel that its a foot with your hands. Be interesting to try and recreate it!

I have got the number of a birth photographer! A friend had a load of studio shots when she was 8 months pg or so - then photographer was on call and photographed the birth - then at 6 wks postnatally did another shoot with mum and baby. She has a lovely album and all photos on a disc - i'm sooo going to do it too!!

goldenoldie · 01/08/2005 16:46

Can photographer do hair and make-up, and advise of clothes too?

I've already started my decent into bad hair, skin, clothes and not sure I want the mess I look recorded for posterity. However - if he/she can make me look glam I'm all for it!

sweetheart · 01/08/2005 16:49

Yes, I wonderd if it was a "real" photo.

I found this lady near to me that does nude pregnancy photos - tastefull of course. I quite fancied having a portrait done.

Also liked the idea of doing this sort of thing

Not sure where we'd hang it though

bonkerz · 01/08/2005 17:34

Hi all, really want my scan but im not having it till 22 weeks so another 23 days to go!!
Went to mothercare today and got a moses basket, bottles, bibs, muslins and some nik naks for fred!! Am desparate to put cot up but will hold out till next week after i have painted the nursery!!
Am really tired still! On a plus side, all symptoms of water infection have gone so maybe these anti biotics have worked this time! fingers crossed!!
4 more days left of work then i have a week off, am visiting bubblerock in blackpool and meeting with nemo too so will be a mumsnet filled 3 days!! Really need a break now!!
Went cinema yesterday and fred was kicking and wriggling big style! He must have loved the new oompah loompah songs!!

george32 · 01/08/2005 20:03

Hi everyone, sorry I've been away so much over the last few days. The weekend flew by & work is just manic - aren't I supposed to be winding down soon???
GoldenOldie, I'm so jealous of you having some time off work and away from the horrible commute. 8 stops on the tube tonight before I got a seat. I know I'm not massive but surely I don't just look fat anymore!!
DQ, I'm worried about my scan too. I know I shouldn't be but i just wish I hadn't left it so long since the last one. Keep thinking it might not have grown properly & they will give me bad news. I'm a week on Tuesday too so busy time I think!
I love the idea of having a photo of my pregnant belly done. Might have to see if there is anywhere near me that does it.
Bonkerz, what did you think of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory?

george32 · 01/08/2005 20:09

Sorry, I've come back & can't stop moaning!! Promise I'll be more chirpy on my next post!

goldenoldie · 01/08/2005 21:04

DS and I loved Charlie and choc factory, but DS said that the fab. four? - some other film just out was better.

dramaqueen72 · 01/08/2005 22:25

welcome back george! my scan is wednesday and i am getting to the paranoid stakes now. desperately trying not to focus on it. also have worries its not grown properly. think we'll ever get over it? ah well........
I have taken three photography courses now so think I should take my own photos this pregnancy. will give ti a shot, took one at 12wks to celebrate getting that far think now 19wks+ its certainly time again! (and that foot one was certainly 'helped' by a computer....but lovely tho!)
s/h YES this pg really want a belly casting done...tho can see several 'sit com' type moments whilst sitting waiting for it to set.....LOL
have got real urge to sort out, change round, paint, alter etc, things in the house...... sort of mad artistic version of spring cleaning ...! am sure it will wear off.
hows everyone else? i have noticed how short tempered i am these days to call me cranky is to put it mildly!!
and how are we all doing on baby names? just when i feel settled on tow in my head dh comes along and starts hummng and hawing about changing them..........just who do these men think they are anyway?!!!

goldenoldie · 02/08/2005 07:41

Drama - names sorted DH has chosen them both. Keeping quite till they boys are here tho.

george32 · 02/08/2005 09:16

Morning everyone. The sun is finally out again after all that rain so it must be a good day today.

We are struggling with names at the moment but still a long way to go I guess. The 2 on the shortlist at the moment are Poppy and Jake but they could change at any time.

sweetheart · 02/08/2005 09:36

Morning all!!!

Bonkerz, I have resisted buying bottles as I want to give bf'ing a go again this time. I might go and buy a couple just in case!!!

DQ - I'm glad you like the idea of belly casting - my dh thinks it's a stupid idea . I had a rather embarresing moment with my boss a few week ago. He's just taken up photography as a hobby (brought lots of very expensive equipment) We were talking about it one day and I mentioned I'd like the photographs done. He asked if perhaps he could give it a go to progress his photography skills. I had to explain to him that they were nude piccies - at which point we both agreed it wasn't on of his best ideas

George, I love you names. Poppy was on my girls list. We have chosen our boys name and forgotten about girls now so I hope they don't change their mind on the sex So unless I have a hormone fit in the next 4 months and decide I hate the name our little boy will be Lucas Benjamin

MINNIE1 · 02/08/2005 09:57

Morning all,

Trying to catch up with you all and i can tell ya its not easy cause i have forgotten what i have just read!!!

All is well here bump is getting bigger, I defo have passed 7.5 SQ for TP tues.. Going to measure later on.

Have been eating alot!! OMG i can not get enough food!!!

ALot have scans coming up so best wishes to you all.. My sis had hers last Thurs and they wouldnt tell her the sex.. She is glad now but deep down she is really hoping for a girl. I really hope she gets her dream as she is a good mummy and it would be nice to have a little princess.

Hope your all well and happy..

starrynight · 02/08/2005 10:24

Oh I forgot its TP Tuesday...should I? Shouldn't I? I don't know after the disappointment of last week maybe i'll leave it a week...

The photos of my friend were brilliant - very artistic and a mix of black and white/colour. As this should be the last time I would like it recorded for prosperity I guess - won't get the chance again!

As for moodiness - my poor children said the other day that mummies get really grumpy when they have a baby inside them Felt really guilty - not a good first impression about their new brother or sister.

apart from that i'm feeling more cheery and energetic at the moment - must be starting to 'bloom'.

starrynight · 02/08/2005 10:26

Golden - how old is your DS? I fancy taking the kids to see Fab 4 but they are 4 & 5 so don't know if too young. They lurve star wars so if its similar then we will go.

sweetheart · 02/08/2005 10:29

Ohhh had forgotten about TP Tuesday - don't think I will have grown again!!

Starry, I have been feeling great on the whole but I had a bad day on Friday. I was really fed up with work and faced the prospect of a whole weekend of DIY. I was absolutly exhausted by the time I got home from work and so I sat on the sofa, wrapped up in a blanket and cried my eyes out.

Dh gave me a cuddle and asked if I was having a "hormonal moment"!!!!!!

starrynight · 02/08/2005 10:31

And did you promptly punch him? (sign of a true hormonal moment lol)

sweetheart · 02/08/2005 10:34

lol

No I didn't, it was actually quite sweet of him. Normally when I cry he leaves the room coz he gets embaressed and doesn't know what to do!!!

The fact he gave me a cuddle was so sweet it actually made me cry even more!! Then dd came and climed on the pile laughing which cheered me up!!!

starrynight · 02/08/2005 10:54

Well, of course I couldn't resist and.... i've gone up to 9 squares!!! yay - 3/4 of a square in one week. woohoo (when would I ever cheer an event like that!? lol)

starrynight · 02/08/2005 11:56

Great, back to my old thread-killing days.

mychelle · 02/08/2005 12:43

Afternoon Ladies!

I hope you are all well and I didnt miss too whilst on hols for the past 2 weeks.

I am going to measure myself in loo roll squares later today, so will update according.

I would like to recomend Sorrento, italy as a holiday destination especially the Hotel Capodimonte 4*s. There were 5 other preggers ladies there too. I did the volcano trek and walk arounf pompeii, which in honest was far too much for me. I would suggest however going when the temperature is a little lower as it did make for hard going at times!

Cornwall - WET WET WET WET WET! Soden WET! good company tho!

The Lake District - beautiful - however because of being preggers the walks tired me out and i couldnt rock climb or canoe. Next time!

I am now working on getting a venue for the planned wedding this time next year and the reception place - what a palaaaarvour!

Any tips welcomed.... xx

dramaqueen72 · 02/08/2005 13:24

hey ladies! tp tuesday{grin] am NINE squares! woohoo! you and me both starry! how exciting, felt sure I hadnt grown and thats a nice reassurance that belly bean must also be growing too.
BEYOND nervous for tomorrow, and its a t 10.40 too, so most of morning sat chewing fingernails!eek!
s/h LOL at thought of boss and your nudey photos...bet he just died when he realised!
intend to do mine in tight black clothing,.....to cover bits i dont like but to show off bump! and dont want my face in it either....will try and find you a link to something like i mean.
best photo session is with newborn, they are so flexible, sleepy and tiny you can do all the 'anne gedes' type shots. I finally took some of my three children together this weekend and it took over thirty shots to get three good oens. two yr old do NOT make good models.esp the minute they realise you want them to do one thing.....because they purposely do another!

dramaqueen72 · 02/08/2005 13:25

you know, I love tp tuesday!

MINNIE1 · 02/08/2005 13:53
