Thanks for the nice welcomes fellow Peshes

iggypiggy · 09/03/2010 10:28

cossie yours might be differnt and like gasps

forgot to welcome cokie - so welcome, fanks for chocs - have a gin on me.

ski she was a vision in white linen - head all wrapped up in sort of scarf effect. But she was very nice.

Cosmosis · 09/03/2010 10:29

yay for boys, much easier to name. I'll hold you to that ski and bring it up as a boy even if it turns out to have no winkie.

pandora69 · 09/03/2010 10:33

I may be adding to all the boys here. We had a private scan at 13 weeks, and the sonographer said she had such a clear picture that she was 80% sure we had a boy. OH is ecstatic (someone else in the house he will be able to talk to about cricket,) and very proud his little baby has such a big willy it is visible at the first scan! When we go for the NHS 20 weeks scan we'll have to see what they say then. Could get very confusing if they reckon it's a girl. Having said that, I'm amazed they can see anything at all on the scan they do - the difference in quality between the private and NHS scans we had at 13 weeks was unbelievable.

So, for all the PESHes having boys, here's a little bit of good news for you all!

iggypiggy · 09/03/2010 10:43

pandy yay for that link and also yay for having a boy!

givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 11:33

Hurrah pandy that's my kinda link! Yes I remember when I had a private with LC it was really clear. Good news on the boy!

cokie how old is your boy? I've been having a few days of "I WANNA GIRL" crap but I'm over it now after lovely convo with YOB last night, where he said he's not totally averse to having another go in a coupla years - whereupon I immediately (and contrarily) decided I think I want to stick with just 2 in total.

I'd honestly not know what to do with a girl. I just feel that I'd like to have the experience. But I'm so looking forward to meeting this little guy now!

It is true that girlie clothes are much cuter, but really, who notices the clothes when there's an adorable tiny baby inside them. And of course they only puke and poo on them.

Is anyone else going to fess up then?

I'm thinking of a sweepstake or competition of some kind, prize a MAC item. Any ideas?

iggypiggy · 09/03/2010 11:38

Am worried about self... seriously considered writing an AIBU just now... cos am fed up of people writing Knob or Knobhead - when clearly the correct way is Nob, nobhead, nobber etc...

It's not a fucking door knob.

salander · 09/03/2010 11:50

lol iggs
go for it, we'll all back you up!

salander · 09/03/2010 11:51

rots thats fabbo to hear, glad you've sorted some fings aht

hi cokie how are ya? nice to see ya (to see you nice) fanks for the gin

hmmm, yoga. sounds v lovely but was not aware hard work involved?
rethinking rapidly

skihorse · 09/03/2010 11:58

Congrats pandora! I thought all the oestrogens in the water were making us all give birth to girls eh? Curly's little girl is going to need to beat away the cock with a shitty stick come 2027!

iggy You do know the all-encompassing answer to any question posed in AIBU right? I find your views on nobbing repulsive.

Can I have a soppy moment? Yesterday was undoubtedly one of the best days of my life - finding out I'm having a healthy little boy is just astoundingly wonderful and I'm so glad I've been able to share it with all of you.

I haz just received next delivery and despite the fucking palava last week where I almost commited hari-kari over the changing of my postcode they've put my old postcode on the parcel. I remember one of you was thinking about the tankini? Well it's absolutely bloody heuge haha but considering the way my tummy has grown over the last few weeks it'll be needed. I will report back after my mini fashion show this afternoon.

Cokie · 09/03/2010 12:06

My boss is a nob, I think calling him a knob would in fact be somewhat complementary and that is indeed not intended.

Carrots he is 15 months. I would be more than happy with 2 boys as boys are ace and I am not sure I will remember the wiping the front to back thing one must do with girls! However, one is each would mean there would be no way I would need to go for a 3rd. As long as it's healthy, I will take what I am given! (just had scary thought, what if there is 2 growing in my tum tum!!??? Ahhhh!)

iggypiggy · 09/03/2010 12:08

I put it in pedants corner and kind of lost... but I stand by my assertion that Nob is the BESTEST way of spelling it. Even if both are technically right...

GrumpyGasper · 09/03/2010 12:23

And here I thought the origins of (k)nob was that piece of protruding door furniture which is mildy useful at times, but could generally be replaced with something more effective... .

soooooo bored.

I'm trying to write something lengthy and scientific.

By lunchtime.

Not started

Cosmosis · 09/03/2010 12:26

I always spell it Knob. A Nob is an aristocrat.

skihorse · 09/03/2010 12:30

Oooh I'm with curly/cossie on both their statements. iggy YABUGAFG! Who has been offending you anyway? Can't you simply retaliate with bumsex?

OP posts:
Ponymum · 09/03/2010 12:31

Oooo, iggy I was just going to suggest Pedants' Corner. One of my favourite places on Mumsnet!

I am thinking of posting a question there concerning the correct verb to use when I remove a bone from a joint of meat. Is it:
a) to bone
b) to de-bone?
Both seem correct, but they can't be. One must be WRONG.

Ha, ha, ski has gone soppy on us! I was actually thinking yesterday that the erm, tone of this thread is deviating somewhat from the BESH culture which spawned it. Have we all gone soft and maternal or somefink?

givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 13:10

Can you de-bone a nob?

cokie 15 months??? ARE YOU MAD??? My son is 5 1/2 and I'm only just thinking number 2 is feasible!!! Mind you my husband's younger brother was 10.5 months younger than him. Yes, you read that right. His mum was pregnant when my hub was 6 WEEKS OLD.

Yes, I agree that 2 boys will be loads of fun although I'm now stuck with a houseful of bloody Yorkshiremen . The loos will never be the same again. Oh that's another problem. We have 3 loos in our house. I'll either need to ensure that the kids are only allowed to use one between them or I'll have to install another one...

I am trying to teach LC some stuff that his wife will appreciate though. This morning I went into his room after I got up, and he was up, dressed, had had his breakfast and bless him, had made his bed with his pjs under the pillow and his teddy all tucked into the covers. Very cute. Now I just need him to learn how to aim in the bathroom and to remember to flush the toilet, especially when we go to someone else's house . MIL complained that she'd gone into her guest bathroom, last used by LC 3 weeks ago, to find it, let's say, in an unsavoury condition.

AND YOU WONDER WHY I WANT A GIRL????!!

LOL @ wipe thing. TBH that was one of my concerns about a girl but I didn't dare voice it .

"just had scary thought, what if there is 2 growing in my tum tum!!??? Ahhhh!"

Yes, we've all been through that

givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 13:12

ski bless ya . Nothing wrong with being soppy from time to time.

I was looking at my scan picture and just falling in love with my little one. Sooooo lovely!

GrumpyGasper · 09/03/2010 13:17

finally got a section of the DVD onto FB.

Um, I have just been told that girls can also pee in your face - can anyone please clarify?

Cosmosis · 09/03/2010 13:19

I think you bone it?

skihorse · 09/03/2010 13:26

grumpy My "madame" days recall a 70 quid fee for that.

pony said boner.

Gas my daughter peed everywhere every time you took her nappy off. OH never did get the hang of sliding a fresh nappy under her bum before removing the old one. Actually that's just reminded me of one of the funniest moments of my life - OH's first go a changing a nappy. He threw away the used nappy, turned to get a fresh one, and DD had pooed all over the cot. (This was while we were still in hospital.) So he took of the sheet to the cot, turned to put it in the wash basket, and DD had pooed again! So he picked up up in a state of panic, as he now had a pooey nappy, pooey sheet, pooey cot and pooey baby, and had nowhere to put her. I was laughing so hard I was crying, and then she pooed again, all over the ward floor. I had to ask him to stop it because my wound was hurting I was laughing so much! It was all that sticky poo, too.

Rots, my cousin had twins born at 7 months, and didn't think you could get pregnant before you had had a period after giving birth. 10 months later the next one was born! If she wasn't mad already, this would have tipped her over the edge. My top tip is to keep your bloke flipping miles away until you feel you could cope with another one!

iggypiggy · 09/03/2010 13:41

I find ALL of your view on NOB vs KNOB repulsive.

givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 13:49

Oh my good god pony. LOL @ poo story!!

I recall the first time I used a real nappy on LC. I did it all wrong, and used the wrong nappies anyway (prefolds, utterly useless). To be fair, it was a full-on-breastfed-liquid-poo which I suspect no nappy would have held onto (and a properly fitted cloth will keep more in than a sposie anyway). So he was in the bouncy chair and when I looked back there was poo in his hair, down the back of the chair, down his front, on the floor...

cassie you have all that to teach your little girl - "you can't get pregnant on your period/if you stand up/if you've not started your periods" etc. Whereas all we have to do is say, "here's a bag of condoms, son. Make sure you use them"

Ahhh I'm feeling better and better all the time.

givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 13:56

iggy kno problem. I'll nob say anything again.
