Carrots if you believe everything you read in the Daily Mail then from next month I will be barren anyway due to being on the wrong side of 35 so gotta get them out while I still have "youth" on my side. TBH, I thought it would take ages to concieve as with the first it took nearly 2 years. I am still slightly in shock that I am in fact updiffed

skihorse · 09/03/2010 14:04

pandora I love your wee story. As for your cousin, now ladies with baybies, stop me if I speak out of turn - but surely after laying a baybee the only thing I'll want anywhere near my nether regions for "some time" is a warm, damp flannel?

Tankini updatee: Really impressed, the cups are very generous - often they can come out a bit wee. The top is actually very long in the body, I was a bit worried it'd be short and there would be a lot of riding up.

Cokie If it helps I got pregnant at 35 (low risk), but will give birth at 36 (high risk). I find this most sniggersome. I'm very happy to hear about your speedy diffing with the second - that's very encouraging!

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 14:24

cokie how fast was it with second then?

I'm 36 - ski I find your being younger than me repulsive . Take a poke in the boobs.

Actually, cold flannel would be better.

It took MIL 3 1/2 years to get YOB, and 6 weeks to get his brother. So it seems that second baybees are easier to get??? Obviously a very scientific experiment.

Me #1 - 7 months, #2 - first month
Pony's friend #1+2 did you say? #3 1 month
MIL #1 3.5 years, #2 6 weeks.

pony how long were you trying for each?

We're all very Daily Mail anyway because AFAIK we were all actively trying. I don't think there's anyone here who "fell"? (Not that that makes you more or less repulsive )

skihorse · 09/03/2010 14:36

Oi carrots, I am 36, tsk. I turned 36 during the week/s I should've had my NF scan as my risk increased exponentially at aged 36. I wondered how the foetus knew...

jailbait's mum took 5 years to get him - course no doctor would take her seriously because she was 20 when she started trying. She ended up with 3 under 5 though...

People who "drop the butterdish" are featured in The Mail too - c.f., today's example of a girl whose docs told her it was IBS and lo and behold she had a poo-baybee. I still don't "get" how you can't know you're pregnant. Julian does somersaults using my umbilical cord as monkey bars and when he gets bored he pulls it like it's a fucking train horn and goes "DING DING mummy!".

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 14:42

Yes ski but I was 36 before you...

Mine is pretty chilled in there . I get a wriggle or two a day, and the odd little nudge-kick but little more. Hope it picks up but then I know how uncomfortable it is... oh the worry!!!

The World Has Gone Mad.

Now I see some pretty dodgy stuff in the press I get through for my baby company, but this is probably the worst and most stupid thing I've ever seen other than those helmets for babies and toddlers "in case they bump their head".

skihorse · 09/03/2010 14:51

You mean you've not got a cotton-wool suit for LC? What if he stumbles?

Julian is leaping around from dawn until dusk - right now he's not waking me up in the night, but it'll come. He's very active. Sonographer said my placenta was at the back - probably why I feel him all the time.

OP posts:
Cokie · 09/03/2010 14:52

It took 3 months. Although MrC is delighted his swimmers are fighting fit I think he was looking forward to lots of practice and is worried now the tap has been well and truly turned off

givecarrotsachance · 09/03/2010 14:54

Can yer bloke feel him kicking?

LC climbs trees! Really well!

Ponymum · 09/03/2010 16:57

I find you people in your 30s repulsive.

Tried 18 mths for the foal. Then 2 mths of active trying for the second one. There will be 21 mths between them.

Girls do the "stealth wee" on the changing table while giving you angelic looks. You think it's all going so well and then you realise they have weed all over the change mat and hence all of their clothes are soaked in it.

pandora69 · 09/03/2010 17:38

Ah, yes, the stealth wee! Really, there is no escaping it - whether you have a girl or a boy there will be wee involved.

Anyway - back to poo again, since it seems to be a favourite topic here . Just wait till you get the 'poo everywhere' poo. Everyone has one of these at least once in their life. My DD was in her car seat clipped onto the pram base and I went to pick her up out of it and she had it up to the back of her neck. Remind me - why am I doing this again?

GrumpyGasper · 09/03/2010 19:35

I love the way you second time mums are keeping us grounded. Who needs violence when you can get poo into just about every conversation?!

Ponymum · 09/03/2010 20:24

Dog poo, horse poo, baby poo, pregnant woman poo... we've got it all!

SilverSky · 09/03/2010 21:55

I've even got cat poo as well as all the other poo (except baybee poop, course).

Had mad couple of days at work. Feel tired as usual and my hooters are Hay----yuge..... hope noone spies them. Also my waist is also disappearing and I am only 8 weeks, 9 on Thursday (heaven help me). Shocking. My flat tum now is no longer flat and is slightly odd. Can't even suck the blighter in, never needed to before, perhaps its cos tummy muscles are knackered?! Though due to be an 'orse rider, surely I should have stomach muscles of steel?

Was reading a Spring recipe book today and every bloody recipe had either runny eggs, nuts or blue cheese in. Man I could so eat all that.

Tonight I had sausage, mash with a whole can of beans. Better make sure that the bedroom window is open for sure tonight. Hopefully the beans will help shift the constipation.

Feel a bit icky tonight, not sure why. Could be due to tiredness. I've eaten enough, trust me. I've eaten Licorice Allsorts, plums, toast, chicken and coleslaw sarnies, crisps, peaches, drunk two glasses of fruit juice, an everton mint. I daren't even look at the scales, I bet I have stacked on some weight, the new (k)norks alone must weight 3lb!!!!

Hope all you second timers are not gloating too much at having been there done it already. Cos I am not jealous. Honest. (Shitting hell Sherlock, wish I knew what I was letting myself in for. Not just the birth but the whole being responsible for a small person for the rest of their lives!!!)

SkaterGrrrrl · 09/03/2010 22:11

Wow you lot have been busy, must catch up on all posts...

Congrats on the boys, carrots, pony and ski, and grumpy on your girl!

Snap, SilverSky I have always been vain about my small waist, but it is vanishing by the day. How much cheese & yoghurt can one woman inhale eat?

Honeymoo and salander I am so glad babies are fine, its incredible when they find the heartbeat and you can breathe a sigh of relief Consultant sounds good, honeymoo.

Welcome pandora, Im 14 weeks too, when is your due date? I'm 1 Sep. And welcome Witty, congrats on the updiffing! Cokie I'd welcome you but my mouth is too full of Booja Booja chocolate, you know the door to a pregnant woman's heart!

Mememe: going maternity clothes shopping with sister on Saturday and coming out the pregnancy closet at work next week. Hey if VAG can come out the closet, so can I! Who have you told, VAG? Oh and have doctors booked for next Tues as am still spotting (TMI) and need a person in a white coat to tell me its all fine. (I know it is, but still).

I am nearly 34, career obsessed PESH that I am. Ooh, has everyone read the MN 10th birthday party love in thread?

pandora69 · 09/03/2010 22:22

There's a whole lot of poo out there! It's a very important thing.

Silversky I'll be steering clear of you tonight! That's a lot of beans, on top of everything else. As someone who could have been renamed 'Mrs Heifer' in my first pregnancy I sympathise. Wrt to the horsey riding muscles - I was distressed to discover the wrong ones in me were like sheets of steel. My do-dah was far too tight to let a baby out but my stomach collapsed at the first hurdle. Sigh!

BTW small people are no trouble at all. If you are horsey my top tip is to strap it to a pony's back and take it wherever you go.

Skater the MN calendar says 6th Sep, the scan says the 1st. If we have a sweepstake I'll be plumping for the 12th Sep though - I won't be disappointed about the extra preggie week then.

Sodding computer. Why does it tell me it failed to post my reply? Is it trying to make me look stupid by letting me post twice?

CUNextTuesday · 09/03/2010 22:52

Dogs, horses, pooh. Dogs, horses, pooh. Dogs, horses, pooh.

skihorse · 10/03/2010 08:00

silver Despite being a hippo my stomach muscles appear to be holding up well - I put this down to the riding & skiing. Don't ask me in 3 months time how my tummy muscles are doing because I'll probably eat your head. Btw, congrats on your first food "mistake" as per The Daily Mail. Licquorice will give your baybee ADHD (?) - they've not informed Dutch women yet - here liquorice is a food group in itself. As for over-eating, I ate like a demon in the first 10 weeks or so... then down a pound, up a pound, down two pounds etc., until about week 14/15 so my weight ended up being exactly where it was supposed to be at that time. But we try not to talk about weight around here else cunty will bash us around the head and tells us to stop being so stupid, get over ourselves and enjoy our bodies giving us baybees.

Speaking of which - got a stupid ass email from whattoexpect.com this morning - apparently although Cherry Garcia contains lots of calcium you should make a pot last more than an hour. Twats. What fucking planet are they on?

Skater - you think a spot of blood is TMI? Have you thread the last few pages? We're in poo central!

Where is cheggers?

I still cackle at the story from the BESH who was in the swimming pool changing rooms and heard the ever memorable "but how did you manage to get it in your goggles?"

OP posts:
pandora69 · 10/03/2010 08:28

Ski, do the Dutch have those sweeties made of licorice that you think are covered in lovely sugar crystals and then you discover as you pop it in your mouth that they are, in fact, covered in salt? Or is that just Scandinavia. I know the Dutch eat some weird things. My brother had a Dutch girlfriend once and her favourite food was called Frigging Dellas, or something like that.

skihorse · 10/03/2010 08:45

pandora No, the freaky-deaky clog-wearers eat salted liquorice. Frikandel - it looks like a saveloy, but is actually 95% horses cock. Viandelle are better - they're frikandel battered and deep-fried. Nom nom!

GrumpyGasper · 10/03/2010 08:57

Morning. Well, after yoga last night, where I am earliest into my pregnancy, I no longer feel huge. They are all huge. In that room I feel like a fraud. Was a good sesh though - all about labour positions and which noises are the most effective. High pitched screaming = waste of time.

Watched OBEM last night. At the end SFF asked "Are you scared?".
Me: "no, not really. Well, not yet anyway".
SFF: "Just, because it looks fucking horrific".

Thanks, darling

skihorse · 10/03/2010 09:09

curly Does he know it'll be his hand you'll be squeezing, him you'll be shouting at and him who's going to get the blame?

OOooh how big were they?

For all of you with shit mums - ponymum and someone else I think (can't remember). AIBU to have expected some form of response from my parents when I emailed them 4 scan pics of their FIRST grandchild 48 hours ago? Bear in mindn they're both retired and have bags of time

OP posts:
GrumpyGasper · 10/03/2010 09:28

ski - but did you include pix of Jailbait and the pram? I'd give them another couple of days. Mine don't check theirs often enough for me to get a quick response and they are very enthusiastic about it all.

The other wimmiz were all just bigger and more rounded than me. Some double the size I'd say. But most of them are in the late 20/30s in week terms. One girl though, is about three weeks ahead of me and AFAIC is not showing at all.

Oh yeah, I did laugh when the young lad last night was telling his girlfriend to bite his hand at the ring of fire stage. Don't think SFF would be that brave!. I told him I will probably scream, shout and let loose all manner of Hell when it comes to it. But for now I am relaxed and focussed on doing all I can to get through it with the least damage to my body. (and with a healthy baby of course!)

iggypiggy · 10/03/2010 09:46

Being diffed has turned me into a fucking wuss. I am v. emotional about my dog at the moment - and how much I love him.

These hormones have alot to answer for..
