Diege · 03/03/2010 11:53

KAYZ, the not wanting him to go is entirely to be expected; I wouldn't rely on it (personally)being a reason not to try some time apart. All you're suggesting is some time apart to think things through, not necessarily permanent. Maybe think of things in baby steps rather than that you are necessarily ending things?

NatalieJane · 03/03/2010 11:58

Can you carry on as you were?

I don't want to talk you into giving up on your marriage, but you have to make the right decision right here, right now. If you don't send him away today, you never will, and that trapped feeling you had will just get bigger and bigger. Read through you last thread and our emails.

If you think you can forget it all then by all means let him stay, but don't become his doormat, if he stays you make damn sure he works for it. You will both have to work at it.

This is it Kay, this is the reality, what you do today can and will effect your life forever, I know you are hurting, and I know you're scared, terrified even, but right now you have to be strong and know that the decision you make is one you can live with.

Kayzr · 03/03/2010 12:16

I have asked him to stay. I don't care what people think anymore. I love him and the thought of him leaving was terrifying. We are going to have to do loads of work but I want him to stay so much.

NatalieJane · 03/03/2010 12:25

Sweetie, it's not about what anyone else thinks at all, all anyone would have wanted was to make sure that you are happy again, or at least that you're on the way to being.

I am so pleased you've made the right decision for you both. You can get through all of this y'know, you're right it will be hard work, but it is doable as long as you still love each other.

Why don't you get a bottle of wine/DVD/good food in, it will take a lot more than a cosy night in, but at least it's a start, and you can have a celebrationary nice evening together.

Kayzr · 03/03/2010 12:30

I do have some wine that I had got for myself. So we'll share that. Might get a take away too as I got some tea for me and the boys and there isn't enough for DH.

NatalieJane · 03/03/2010 13:53

Sound's good to me - hope you have a lovely night together

Diege, picking up where we left off, I don't know if I'll get a student card, I haven't had anything about it and it's not mentioned on the website, I don't know if your entitled to one on a home study course? I've no idea. Couldn't care less either today! The first assignment is just simple questions and answers - Name three paint manufactuers. - Name as many different floor coverings as you can. etc. etc. etc. Finishing off with the "What are your long term aims, and how is this course going to help you achieve them? Or something like that!

Best bit, it says "If you have not received your course pack within 14 days of returning your registration documents, please ring....." so with any luck, I should be up and running in 2 weeks time-ish! Which gives me two weeks to turn our un-used dining room into a study (need some furniture, probably about £300), get the rest of the text books (another £210) get the equipment pack (£175) and I'll need some different types of paper and card on top of that, and things like box files and other paper storage stuff..... oh my giddy aunt, DH is going to be working his arse off, all while I'm sat on my student arse watching the box and trying to get drunk on cheap cider. I LOVE being a student!!

maxxymoosmummy · 03/03/2010 14:00

gingerbreadlatte · 03/03/2010 15:11

Hi everyone

Kay- glad you are ok and have made the right decision for you.

Thanks for get well wishes Nat, feels like ages since i've "seen" you on here properly. Helps now you are nat again somehow

Again this is a quick one, will catch up more tomorrow/friday when Im having to take 2 days leave as DD is now sick.

Really not sure whats wrong with her. She is really chesty, pukey, no temperature but not her self at all. Seems like nothing but my instincts are telling me to get her checked out.

Really missing you all!

gingerbreadlatte · 03/03/2010 15:29

Hi- can anyone help here?

here in next 30mins?

Rugbylovingmum · 03/03/2010 16:26

Hi all,

Kayz - so sorry you and DH are going through this . It sounds like you are very sure you don't want him to leave so at least that is one decision made - I really really hope you are able to talk about things tonight and come to some agreement about how you are going to make this work.

Nat - hooray for your course pack arriving ! Have you started filling it in yet or are you waiting for peace once DCs are in bed?

GBL - no advice sorry but I hope DD is better soon.

MMM - have a lovely afternoon with your friend.

Diege - I haven't fully sorted out the night sleeping issues but I've found a solution that works for now. I was putting her to bed between 7-7.30 and she cried for a feed at 2ish then woke up at 5.30 ready to start her day. I was shattered. Then she started screaming at 12 and 4 as well and it was taking me 45min to settle her. Now I'm giving her a dream feed at 10.30 when I go up and she sleeps till 4.30 then has a 10min feed and sleeps until 7.30. I feel much more rested so happy to keep up those feeds for now.

Gruff - glad your mum is getting a break from the chemo. How many more sessions does she have?

Hi to everyone else

Well DD has just turned 5 months and she is doing really well, she is such a jolly baby . She has started rolling on to her side to play and has rolled right over a couple of times. If I turn my back on her for a moment she manages to turn around under her activity gym and usually wedges her head under the rattle on the side . She is very 'chatty' now too - constantly babbling and squealing (can't think where she gets that from ). The down side is she is now very very loud when she is unhappy - mum called the other day and DD was overtired and objecting to a nap and mum said she sounds like a toddler she screams so loudly!

She has been grabbing at our food for a few weeks so we've decided to let her have some bits to gnaw on. We were planning to wait until 6 months but I figure so little ends up being swallowed it won't really matter. Last night she had a stick of carrot, a broccoli floret and a piece of squash. She can get them to her mouth no problem and happily chewed on them but most of it (or all of it) fell back out. Then she chewed on a spoon for a while. This lunchtime she had a big slice of pear and some banana and loved it but she finished up covered in banana! It was in her hair, her ears and her neck folds and she smeared a fair amount on me too.

NatalieJane · 03/03/2010 16:55

MMM, sound's like you had fun this morning, hope this afternoon is going well too

GBL, hope the doctor has put your mind at rest. FWIW, DS1 was a sickly one (more toddler than baby time though) and I never left the house without spare clothes/towels/bags - seriously, having said that he got me into good habits from when he was a baby baby, everytime I took him to get weighed (every bloody two weeks PFB) as soon as I'd take his nappy off to put him on the scales he'd wee, every time without fail, even the HV's wouldn't stand anywhere near after the first couple of times! Anyway, hope you see some improvement soon, they don't tend to last too long these sickness bugs.

Rugby, wow, 5 months already, I know we always say it but it has gone so quickly! Sound's like you've found a good sleeping routine . Deffo waiting for kids to be in bed to fill it all in! Am planning on a good old fashioned chippy tea because we haven't had one for yonks, get kids bathed and bedded, and then sitting down and doing it properly, in peace, concentrating, and probably telling DH to shut up every 2 minutes because if I'm busy, you can be sure he'll have Top Gear/football/some crappity crap on that he'll feel the need to tell me allllll about...!

Had the text books delivered that I'd ordered They are HUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGE, it'd take me 5 years to read one of them, and I've got to get 11 altogether, am hoping there are at least some that are smaller! Suddenly feeling all very real!

Kayzr · 03/03/2010 18:15

Nat, hide in another room. England are playing tonight.

We are going out for a meal. My brother is coming round and we are going to go out. Not sure where yet. Just where they have room for us.

NatalieJane · 03/03/2010 18:19

Are they?

Enjoy your meal, hope you have a lovely time together

Right, DH is home so we're off out to Preston (they've got the best chippy in the world!) Mmmmm I can almost smell them, 'orrible fatty chips in a roll, with scampi and curry sauce Mmmmmmm!!

Busy day here. Wednesdays and Sundays are my only full days off work and we certainly packed a lot into today:
10am - meet up with post natal friends and babies
11.45am - Jo Jingles
12.45am - packed lunch with Jo Jingles babies
2pm - Church group (story, music and play)
5pm - visit from my cousin

And breathe!!!

Kay - I'm glad you sound positive about DH staying. Hope you've managed to have a good chat over dinner and that you manage to work together in the coming weeks and months to make it work for you.

Nat - yay for being a student!!!

Sorry for not name checking further but I've got a headache. My own fault as I should be switching off but I'm trying to get sorted in my head everything I need to get done at work over the next couple of days. I've done all I can at home this evening so I'm going to head off to bed to watch the end of the football and then (hopefully) get some sleep.

Hello tink, Diege, Star, GBL, LaTour, Gruff, MMM, Cant and anyone else I've missed.

Rugbylovingmum · 03/03/2010 22:31

I meant to mention earlier (in that giant post ) that I am back on a diet. It all got put on hold when DD wasn't sleeping and I was too tired to care but I weighed myself at the weekend and I am a whopping 4 stone over my ideal weight. I'd love to blame it all on DD but most of it is left over from the 3 years I practically lived in the lab trying to finish my PhD when I survived on vending machine food and takeouts . I'm following a low fat GI diet and hoping long walks and the wii fit will do for exercise. Please shout at me if I even mention the words takeout, chocolate muffin or caramel slice over the next few weeks !

Ses - your day off sounds fun. Hope the headache goes.

gingerbreadlatte · 03/03/2010 22:35

Evening everyone

Thanks for your comments about the sickeness thread. Nat- your suggestions were helpful Sorry for missing the obvious, but what are you studying?

Rugby- your DD sounds lovely. I cant believe she is 5mths. BLW rocks too- we continually say how thrilled we are that we did it for DD. She now eats independently with spoon and bowl and will eat anything

Kay- hope you had a nice evening with DH and you got on ok.

Ses- wow, what a busy day. Its good that you can cram so much into your days off. Great news to be the one picked for the meeting too.

Cant- hope you are feeling better

Star- hope you got more sleep

Gruff- good to hear an update on your mum. Did you hear about the doctorate.

Tink- im loving the constant boden shopping chat

Diege 6lbs is fab, well done. Are you planning to lose much more?

I've missed loads of people so apologies.

Turns out that DD now has my chest infection. Poor thing has been so phlemgy that she keeps puking up. Dr told me to give her small amounts to eat, regularly. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in sooon.

I've taken two days of leave to look after her and Im so excited. Its like being a SAHM mum again! I cant wait to be with her for two days

Better go as its quite late for me

Byeee

maxxymoosmummy · 04/03/2010 07:44

GBL hope DD is better today. and not as bad. and that the antibiotics kick in soon.

NatalieJane · 04/03/2010 08:35

Good morning campers

Kayz, hope you had a lovely time last night, and managed to come up with a plan of how to move forward

Ses, hope your head is better? Bet it's almost nice to go to work for a break after a day like yesterday!

Rugby, good luck with the diet, you'll have to let us know how you get on

GBL, bless her, I too hope the AB's kick in soon and she'll start feeling better. Enjoy your days off

MMM, sorry you're not sleeping well, it's a bugger isn't it?

So I started reading the first text book last night, I am on pg.9 of 1376 pages, and I was reading for a good half an hour/45 mins, I'm not a slow reader, it is just huge with tiny text, it'll take me longer than 6 months to read 1 of them, let alone 11, though must admit, it seems the other one is more of a reference book than a read all the way through book, so hopefully there will be many more like that! Also filled all the forms and the first assignment thing in, I need to ring them though, they're asking for proof of ID, but it doesn't say whether it needs to be the real thing or a photocopy, and the way it is phrased, I'm not sure if you only need to provide ID if you're on benefits etc. (so basically if you're asking for the course to be funded) figured I'd best ring and find out before I send it all in.

Gonna be one of those days methinks, DS1 arguing over brushing his teeth (TBF he'd done them four times before he kicked off, but not well enough) and DS2 is sitting on his naughty seat thing due to melt down over wanting a bag of crisps.

Chips were yum though! (But the chippy I was on about is in Leyland, not Preston, tell I'm not very good at remembering anything locations!)

maxxymoosmummy · 04/03/2010 08:58

jus noticed that DS has cut his 4th tooth last night, and i didnt even know haha.
book oes sound huge NJ hope it doesnt take as long as you think, especially with them all.
