Come in, come in to the new haven for diffed BESHies. I think a group effort is needed here (and I'm being a lazy preggo), so please add to the deli whatever you crave/love/can stomach.

Nominations are also open for sexy fathers we can hijack to serve our mouldy cheese and cured ham

And the best mocktail recipe wins...well, bugger all to be honest

casper I forgot the important person was going to be near milk. Well maybe you should get the top which reads, "my milk comes from my mum, not just any old cow" for when you take littlecasper in to be cood over.

givecarrotsachance · 20/01/2010 16:12

twink what nasty letter?????

TwinkleToes76 · 20/01/2010 17:59

thanks CurlyWurly. I had my booking-in and 12 week scan appointment letter arrive today, Rots. Was particularly irksome as the consultant who performed the ERPC last week promised to cancel all antenatal appointments for me

Cosmosis · 20/01/2010 20:22

had my first pg related dream last night and it was horrible. I dreamed we lived next door to another couple who were preggo and they went for the 12wk scan, and then it was all over the papers that they were only the 5th couple in the world to have managed to conceive an artichoke instead of a baybee - but all the papers were reporting it like it was good news! and then another friend of a friend had their scan, found they were having a tin of cabbage instead of a baybee so the scan lady opened a cupboard and handed them a tin of cabbage to take away.

I know it sounds funny but it was horrible. I was laughing and crying at the same time when telling TGO this morning.

Do you think perchance I am worrying about my scan??

ginhag · 20/01/2010 23:56

err know I never normally come here, was looking for cunty innnit...

But while I'm here, just wanted to try n get cossie to be chilled re scan...I have some statistics on such things and judging by that it's all gonna be good my luvver.

Other reason for being here is this fuck-off-big cheeese cheese cheese MASSIVE cheese n cracker plate I've brought round for ski's birthday. Smooches to ya.

Am off again now. Smooches as always xx

Things you don't expect a differ to say:

Ah fuck, I've laddered my fishnets and now there's a gaping hole between top of high-heeled boot and suede skirt.

(If the skirt were leather it'd be much more whorey wouldn't it? )

Where is our VAG? I was very worried about her earlier in the week but I gather she is now accepting.her.fate.

CurlyCasper · 21/01/2010 08:43

sorry about the dreams cos, although I am impressed with your imagination. An artichoke????????

In my dream last night I was to hosp for a check up and they diagnosed cancer of my foot right away, but wouldn't let me phone anyone (husband/boss) to say that they were keeping me in hospital. Vey, vey weird.

ski hope you somehow managed to have a good birthday anyway. More cheese?

skihorse · 21/01/2010 08:52

curly Don't mind if I do. Jailbait has started getting all in a tizz about me eating pasteurised cheese - I feel it's only fair I lie to him when necessary. He doesn't eat it (the freak) so his cheese knowledge is below average.

Strange dreams everybody!

iggypiggy · 21/01/2010 09:30

ski the nice man at Neal's Yard told me it isn't about pasturized/ unpasteurized anyway - tell Jailbait that! There is info online:

Taken from this website:

Unpasteurised cheeses imported from abroad or made by small producers are also safe to eat in pregnancy provided they are made from cow's milk and are not mould-ripened or blue-veined.

I am obsessed wiwth cheese....

skihorse · 21/01/2010 09:35

iggy But mould-ripened/blue-veined are the very best. I like my cheese like my men... fnar fnar. Doesn't work does it?

I dunno... maybe I'm just one of life's dare-devils but I'm going to eat the buggery stuffy anyway - I just don't get dicky tummies. I have a constitution of steel. Blood infections though? Bring 'em on.

I'm having 'oss problems - it'll shortly be in the Tack Room.

givecarrotsachance · 21/01/2010 09:39

I'm wondering if the strange dreams have anything to do with the consumption of cheese???

cosmo I'm thinking that the only way you've conceived a vegetable is if you implanted a veggie seed - like, I don't know, a carrot seed or something. Oh.

ski I DO hope cosmo doesn't get San Pel on tap as it's EVIL NESTLE, don't you know. A fact that I was gutted to find out as it's my absolute fav sparkly water.

twink that's utterly shit. I'm so sorry to hear that Don't they have any idea of how not doing a simple job can have such a bad effect? Idiots

iggypiggy · 21/01/2010 10:10

Am really wanting blue brie I love it....

cos the artichoke thing is just odd!

I have had some wierd dreams - but mainly last night I was dreaming about clearing up dog sick why????!!!!!

skihorse · 21/01/2010 10:12

iggy A searing vision of your future? Baby is sick, whilst you're cleaning up baby, dog eats sick, dog is sick, iggy on hands and knees cleaning up sick dry-heaving.

iggypiggy · 21/01/2010 10:13

I hate clearing up dog sick... it is RANK.

Apparently the dog was scraping around in the night tho... so maybe that is why I dreamt it...

CurlyCasper · 21/01/2010 10:22

My dog was sick a couple of nights ago. Crawled back into her crate to do it and made a right mess. SFF tried to pull shotgun on not cleaning it up. But I said "I'm not doing it, I'm pregnant, it will make me sick. And imagine all the sick I'll be cleaning up come July". Amazingly, it worked.

ewwww to blue cheese, coffee and any cups of tea beyond the one I have first thing. I too am noticing an aversion to hot drinks. But I have never liked veiny, stinky cheese.

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 21/01/2010 12:08

Blue cheese is just wrong. It's clearly gone off and mouldy. I know I've mentioned this before but it's worth saying again.

Blue Cheese Is Wrong.

Made a delish chicken risotto for dinner and of course had to open a bottle of white for the base and it would have been daft to have not had a glass out of it with the meal, obviously.

But Blue Cheese Is Wrong.

skihorse · 21/01/2010 12:18

Yeh but yeh but yeh but carrots isn't wine just mouldy grape juice?

givecarrotsachance · 21/01/2010 13:07

Remembering LC being sick (very, with reflux poor mite). He ended up in hopsital aged 13 days old with projectile vomiting. 'Course every time the conultant paed came round he didn't do it. I was in for 3 days after which (despite him puking on the nurses all day) I started to get comments from the doc about "over-worrying mothers"... until on day 3 he walked into the room with a bunch of students and LC vommed about 4 feet across the room clearing a path through the students and splashing all over the floor. The doc then referred to him as "a very unwell little boy". at being called an "over-worrying mother". But mixed feelings about him then being called "very unwell"!

Anyway, he was fine, it was just reflux and it was easily treated.

skihorse · 22/01/2010 08:07

We had dog sick this morning. New carpets on 28th (?) December. Since then, 1 dog pee and both dogs have puked on them. Still, we're not precious and a little person is coming...

Any news from dear VAG? I'm wondering if you're feeling it kick in yet? Falling asleep face down in your dinner yet? Bursting in to tears? Out of breath climbing the stairs? Massive boobs?

I have outgrown the bra I bought just a few weeks ago. I said to jailbait "my tits are ridiculous" and he just grinned and said he knew.

I got revenge on him though. He was making my packed lunch/breakfast and as part of that he chops half a banana for my yoghurt and I get to eat the other half so I don't drive to work on an empty stomach. He was teasing me and for some reason he bent over and mooned me and spread his cheeks. I stood open-mouthed for about a second before instinct took over and I jammed said banana betwixt his tight little buttocks. The look on his face was priceless!

n.b., I didn't finish the nana.

PMSL @ Ski - swift work!

I am lurking around hereabouts. Still no symptoms of note. Boobs def bigger but not outgrowing bras etc. Bit tired, but am waking in the night and not getting back to sleep so not really surprising. No nausea (thank goodness). No kicking (though not really surprising since boc has not yet developed limbs). Going for early scan the first week Feb when will be 7+6, hopefully will show heartbeat and force us to believe it is happening. We are cautiously beginning to consider the future but really with no symptoms except no period it is hard to believe anything is happening.

Why am I making such a hooha about this? Who knows? Suspect am still in denial and/or wanting to protect self if scan shows a gaping nothing.

skihorse · 22/01/2010 09:52

VAG Both Cossie and I had the waking at 3:30 am thing the first few weeks - combined with ravenous hunger. I'd get up, have some Weetabix and watch a bit of telly then back to bed.

If scan shows gaping nothing then at least you'll know you're proper menkul and you've just turned in to one of those women who pretends they're pregnant, then 11 months later steals a baby from a maternity ward and your husband will say "I thought it was a bit odd but I love 'er".

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 22/01/2010 09:54

Fanks, ski, very reassuring.

iggypiggy · 22/01/2010 09:57

vag good choice of date for scan - mine was 7 + 6 this time too

Am liking your style ski
