ninah · 06/07/2005 12:26

congratulations goldenoldie! wow, two little boys!
good luck for today sweetheart
I have to decide soon how to cut down ds's nursery sessions when I'm on mat leave. Just had an arsey convo with dp (in Uncle Quentin mode) who says he should go full-time still as he needs to be educated (?) he's 3 ffs. I think this is part of a cunning manoevre to get me back to work. I'm thinking if ds goes for 2 days a week I'll have the best of both worlds, time with both children and the chance to prove I can do sahm-dom, but with a midweek break ...
Trouble is it's hard to decide so far ahead, esp when you don't know what kind of baby you're going to get
Geroge I'm getting the most dreadful headaches too, do you think it's a pregnancy thing? I thought it was stress or I need an eye test ..

Its really quiet here today, I am trying to find as much info on gardianship for my partner when buba arrives. I hate the though of him not having the gardianship rights. So we have to fill forms and get the court to sign when bubs is born. (well thats alli have found so far) It would be easier to get married!! lol

Was anyone watching cutting it(i think thats the name of it) the hairdresser one. Abi dies and i only got the funeral bit. OMG i cried like a baby it was so sad. I'm never like that or one to cry at sad endings, but that got me!! Hormones are working as DP said! he he Anyone eles this teary??

starrynight · 06/07/2005 16:34

Minnie - we looked into all that - and I have to say it was easier to get married! (but I wanted to anyway, so its all good).

Ninah, man what a load of crud - poor you! Sometimes it is so difficult to live with another adult isn't it? I have had extensive fantasies about us living next door to each other with a joined up upstairs...oh here I go again!

ninah · 06/07/2005 16:43

thanks starry, voice of reason, couldn't have put it better myself!
he seem to be panicking about me looking after the children, it's more than the cash, cos after all full time nursery care while I'm on mat leave will COST .. I think he maybe had a hard time with his mum ... tho he was mainly at boarding school couldn't you guess
I'll try and talk reasonably tonight tho he is staying away (last response was 'oh do what you like' so if all else fails - i WILL haha)
Doesn't make you feel confident tho, I'm not a natural 'mum' I'm a bit forgetful and disorganised ...
We'll see ..

"I'm not a natural 'mum' I'm a bit forgetful and disorganised ... "

Yep, sounds like a natural mum to me either that or I am a most unnatural mum! hehe. 'Do what you like' is not a response that is conducive to doing what you like, as you always feel they aren't happy about it. Hmph, men, drive you mad don't they!?

Nemo1977 · 06/07/2005 17:08

i am completely forgetful and disorganised..dont think anyone is a natural mum as such hun it takes practice then u learn it and it becomes out of date cos kids have moved on to something else..lol

starrynight · 06/07/2005 17:49

ooh, I was just fantasising about being able to employ someone to work for me for 2hrs a day just cleaning/cooking. hmmm drool.

dramaqueen72 · 06/07/2005 18:10

minnie - i am teary, over absolutely silly things. and also cranky....ooooooh even get road rage now..
george sorry its been a rough day for you, me too, I ache all over, my back hurts like I'm 37 wks not 15+. felt very OLD and tired today. sigh, poor me huh?
s/h cant wait to hear how today went, have all crossed for you.
a friend of mine online has just discovered at ehr 14wk scan its twins - at her 10wk scan it looked like only one. am now incrediabley nervous about thought of large bump being due to a baby hiding behind baby!!!!!!!!!!! midwife next wed so she can hopefully reassure me its all kitkats and not 2+ babies in here!!!

starrynight · 06/07/2005 18:43

Funny you should say that DQ - I am very achy and tired already & feel like I am in the last weeks rather than less than half way. I wonder if its anything to do with being no.4? I have got increasingly decrepit with each pg - but then I am comparing to pg no.1 when I was 18 - those days are sooo over. lol.

dramaqueen72 · 06/07/2005 20:12

I was 19 when i had ds, and yep -so beyond that now!!!! we are falling apart starry!!!

starrynight · 06/07/2005 20:34

Totally DQ - we got a trampoline earlier this year and needless to say I couldn't do more than about 4 bounces without having to rush to the loo the shame

starrynight · 06/07/2005 20:35

Man, mumsnet is soooo addictive - I need to get my ass off here!

Nemo1977 · 06/07/2005 20:55

pmsl starry at the trampoline

Minnie u r not alone with the weepiness..i cried today wehn london got the olympics...i hate sports so it was deffo hormones..pmsl

Bonkerz ur presence is requiered on the beanies ordered awaiting delivery thread under pregnancy..

MINNIE1 · 07/07/2005 08:29

SH,
Hope all is ok, how was the scan?

Nemo,
Tears over the olympics lol i thought i was bad.. I now have reason to cry when i like, eat what i like!!! ITs great!

MINNIE1 · 07/07/2005 08:35

starrynight,
It would be easier to get married but im not into all that just yet, (dont know why) But i do want to marry b4 the bubs goes to school. Just have to sort out the gardianship and get wills drawn up and select gardians if we die and bla bla bla!! But getting it done now so i wont have to do it when bubs arrives!

what surname would i give the child does anyone have experiance of this??? Cause i dont know what surname! would i use mine and his or just his or just mine!!!

O what am i like !!

ninah · 07/07/2005 09:13

MINNIE1 · 07/07/2005 09:23

ninah
Thanks for your help, Going to go for his name. Our surnames are long, and i think it will be a nice thing for DP..

ninah · 07/07/2005 09:25

oh, great! (my surname is v short)
And if you're getting married anyway at some stage it saves changing later on

dramaqueen72 · 07/07/2005 09:35

ninah · 07/07/2005 09:39

hello dq,
yes I'm wondering how the scan went

OP posts:
sweetheart · 07/07/2005 09:41

Hello everyone.

Well, had a throughly terrible morning yesterday - didn't get any sleep (surprise, surprise) and felt totally sick and dizzy all morning. Didn't help that dh had me walking all over London (and to the wrong bloody hospital!!!!)

Anyway, thank you so much for all your thoughts and positive vibes - it must have worked because.....

we got the all clear !!!!!!!

I cannot tell you how happy I am!!! We have decided to order all the nursery furniture and stuff and we are decorating the nursery this weekend in celebration!!!

We told dd last night too - she was a bit confussed bless her and she asked things about this baby dying. I said I could promise it wouldn't but that the Dr's have said it's a healthy baby and the last one wasn't. She is very excited now and keep coming to kiss my belly - even gave the baby a kiss goodnight last night

Sod's law though - have felt hardly any movements so far but since we got the all clear yesterday it's been bumping around like mad. I even managed to feel a kick on my hand last night

Dh got impatient after 20mins of waiting and moved - then the little bugger started kicking again typical isn't it!!!!

Anyway, sorry for the long post - just so chuffed!!!!!!

Golden - congrats on the 2 boys btw.

P.s. also been getting loads of really bad headaches - it's quite common - something to do with your increased blood flow. You have something like 3 times as much blood during pregnancy!!!!

Lots of love to you all!!!!!!

sweetheart · 07/07/2005 09:43

I'M HAVING A BABY YYEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 07/07/2005 09:43

woohoo!!!!!!!!! how fabulous s/h! we're all getting the okay, its such a lovely lovely thread!
