We're even getting a donated cot - only 2 years old, though. Just need to buy a new mattress and new bedding. I saved everything. I'd love to shop but haven't much cash and w/the baby expected around Xmas and a child who will actually fully understand what Xmas is, it's hand me downs for this one - with a lot of love attached.

ninah · 04/07/2005 16:42

yup, just pram for me and it will be 2nd hand or v cheap one
maybe a few dresses for a girl

Oooooh, more shopping!!
My neighbours hate me as I'm never in when anything gets delivered

I'll have to check out tax credits, thanks Nemo.

Nemo1977 · 04/07/2005 16:44

i dont mind the used stuff just the not going to splurge like we did when having ds...but then i had money adn was working then..lol

ninah · 04/07/2005 16:46

all the buying's not really for the baby anyway, a baby hasn't a clue! ds still sleeps in our cot bed at grandparents, I like that continuity. baby will have ds's cot, mattress and all, and a Moses basket we still have on loan. and ds's clothes of course.
God, I'd forgotten there will be all the Xmas expense too!

I'm the opposite to you lot. We had everything handed down with my dd because we were skint so this time round we are buying everything from new and pushing the boat out a bit!!!!

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 04/07/2005 16:52

yes, dd1 is called georgia and always referred to as georgie

sweetheart · 04/07/2005 16:52

really like georgie ninah. I tend to sway towards any girls names ending in either ie or y

Ruby
Poppy
Lilly
Charlie
Daisy

etc etc etc

ninah · 04/07/2005 16:54

good cos it was one of dp's more inspired suggestions, I becoming quite keen. Depends on how baby looks tho.

At least we get to finish early on Fridays.

Nemo1977 · 04/07/2005 17:15

nightmare george poor u
when i was pg i used to always skive off work early n go in late but then i was in charge of my own worklload and noboday ever knew where i was cos i was a outreach worker..lol

george32 · 04/07/2005 17:21

It's great when I go & see my customers as I can usually get home a bit earlier.

I'm hoping they will agree to me working from home for a day a week as I keep getting to the stage when I'm exhausted & take a day off sick.

Roll on October, skint or not at least I'll be able to have a lie in!!

bonkerz · 04/07/2005 18:16

Hi girls, crikey you lot can talk cant you!
Just spent a good 20 minutes catching up with this thread!

Im alot better today but am just SO tired, really wish i could afford to take some time off but if i dont work i dont get paid!! Have been looking into maternity pay for self employed and it looks like i will be taking a drastic drop in income (only get 1/3 of my wage!) Am thinking of finishing last friday in november and starting again first monday in feb.

Dont really have to buy anything for this baby although will indulge in a few things, have already started getting a little pile in what will be the nursery!

Have lost another 4lbs since last tuesday. Am now lighter than i have been in a very long time! Not sure if i should be worried about it or not. I am a large lady so losing weight in general is good and baby seems to be growing fine!
