Sorry i posted that and dashed ladies!! so glad some of you remeber me! its hard to find time to get laptop out with lil one around so will update you now!!
I have a gorgeous DS!! he is called alfie, born 17/10/09 11.26pm by emergency c section, and after all the guff about gestational diabetes making him big he was only 7lb 3.5ozs! I was induced at 38+1 due to gest diabetes, was due to go in 15th got in on the 16th in the morning had two internals (OH MY GODDDD hurt like hell!! hopnestly i know how a cow feels!!) by a really unsympathetic midwife, and a pessary. around 9pm i started having pains but because i was told first pessary would defo not work, i thought i had apendicitus until a nice lady next bed said i was having contrACTIONS!!
managed to get some sleep then at 8.30 a lovely midwife called lorraine came took me down and examined me, as i was so nervous and scared of the pain she let me have gas and air - once i got on that i bloody loved every minute!!! DP arrived at 9am and at 10 she managed to break my waters, My mum came up and they were both there the whole day. cos of the the GD i had to have two drips one in each hand one with insulin and glucose, one with oxcytocin.
I was dilating well until 3pm, from then till 10pm i was 4cm, and they couldnt put up the oxcytocin because (luckily unbeknownst to me) it was affecting babys heartbeat. at half ten lady came in and saidc section time, i was thrilled DP was scared!!
alfie james timothy musson was born at 11.26pm! i lost 600ml of blood but was sooo happy! we didnt knoqw we were having a boy so that was a lush surprise even tho dp had said boy all along! he cut the cord and in recovery i was so drugged i offered alfie some of my toffee crisp!!!
i had to stay in hospital two nights and they were frigging awful due to the GD alfie had to have heel prick blood tests hourly, and because he didnt want to eat his sugars didnt go up as they expected so the hospital were threatening to put a tube in his tummy that really was a low point for me as some of the staff were really really insensitive in the way they treated you.
I had a lovely student midwife, and she really saved me as a lady with sleep apnoea (cant spell it) was on my ward, and seriosuly she moo'd in her sleep so i couldnt actually sleep and was knackered after labour, it was so bad that the lady next to me in ante natal actually discharged herself dispite having epilepsy as the lack of sleep was aggravating her epilepsy!!
eventually after crying my heart out and threatening to smother her(!!) they moved me to a different ward!! it was annoying tho that it took that much as there was space on the other ward and two separate midwives had recommended i be moved!
i stuck at trying to breast feed till the second night and then gave in to bottle feeding, thanks to some very sound advice, i can honestly say it was the best decision i have ever made!! we went home the next day thank god i couldnt get out of there quick enough!!
I had the baby blues and honestly was so so scared i was depressed but at day four it just went (as my mum had said it would!!) so that was a great relief
inlaws have not been at all nice but that is whole other thread!!
anyway thatsd the story of how my gorgeous boy came into the world!! ironically he is twelve weeks today and smiling and everything!!
will try and catch up now but if anyone is feeling charitable a quick synopsis would be great?? for example does anyone know where diege, la tour, gruff and natalie jane are?? what have i missed?
