Ali - well you know they say a good tummy clear out is sign of everything starting!!!!

Sockmonkey - hugs sent your way.

Bethoo - 9 pages of brand new thread already, no wonder you and others are having trouble keeping up!!

Feeling ok this end, if a little tired and also (TMI) swollen in the general fanjo area and as though bub wants to fall out! Hmmmmm

Another half pack of jaffa cakes down

sockmonkey it is difficult with a toddler I thought ds was being a royal pain until I realised I was giving him less full on attention because I have been so tired - poor boy have made a real effort over the last week and his behaviour is getting much better.

I am doing the strange vomitting in the middle of the night with itchy feet, strangely and this is tmi it was flourescent yellow. Very bizarre.

whensmydayoff · 08/12/2009 14:16

OMG. Ive only read back pages 20 & 21 but I don't have time for any more. Hope I haven't missed any births !

alibobins _ my DS has had runny tummy for weeks now and Ive just started today. It's hell isn't it. I don't have his virus/chest Inf YET but id imagine you will be feeling really awful with both..

Im putting fingers in ears with everyone else's suggestion that the runny tummy means birth > la la laaa laa la la la!

Have midwife appointment on Thursday and am anxious to see where she thinks the baby is now! It was back to back but it feels very weird now. Can't feel the head in pelbis area anymore so bit worried.
Any breech experience of what it feels like appreciated!

Off to loo again !

bethoo · 08/12/2009 14:26

sockmonkey i know how you feel as my ds is 2 and a half and dd is 14 months so the chances of me having a siesta are way out hte window! would love ot sleep when put them to bed at half 6 but washing. ironing and tidying up the mess they leave takes more time then there is my needs such as a bath!!! so i dont usually get to bed til 10 then up at half six!!! i swear i look like shit!

alibobins · 08/12/2009 14:52

wish I could rest in the day but it just seems to fly by and don't seem to get enough time inbetween school runs to get every day stuff done let alone sleeping lol

Glad (in a strange way) that other ladies are having same symptoms it reasures in a strange way.

People are ringing me already saying have you had that baby yet and I've still got over 3 weeks left I keep telling them santa is coming first!! especially as I've brought my christmas day outfit in maternity.

mistletoekisses · 08/12/2009 15:54

Ali - feel better!!!

CTFN - I love the fact that you are sure Ali is going to be the next delivery. Someone else is bound to surprise us.

Londonlottie - if you are reading, how are you doing?

Crumpette - are you still working? If so, hope that your work are being ok.

Shiny - you know what, I was having the same conversation today with my mum. I got loads of stuff finished last week. And am way more relaxed this week. As a result, DS has been an absolute dream child. Makes me realise that I have been a bit of a stresshead in the last few months.

Sockmonkey - re you DC. And at your DH. DS was delivered as my DH was closing one of the biggest deals he had ever worked on. Paternity leave was delayed for a few weeks, but I didnt mind. Bubs dont always arrive at the most convenient of times!

Whensmydayoff - when DS was breech, it got mighty uncomfortable under my right rib. His head was wedged right in there. And when he delivered a belter of a kick, it would stop me in my tracks! He was obviously hitting a nerve near the base of my spine. This pregnancy (touchwood) is far more comfy because bub is head down.

Hello to everyone else! . Just realised there are only 17 days left until christmas! December is flying by!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 08/12/2009 16:22

3 weeks today and my baby will be delivered - if it doesn't come naturally (highly unlikely) before - woohoo!!!!

Mistletoe - well you know about Alibobins - I had a DREAM that she delivered - although that was probably about 2 weeks ago now so doesn't count!!! I will remain convinced that she is next to pop until we get a MissMarjorieBanks style surprise

Shiny - presume you are talking about your vomit being flourescent yellow? If so, ditto. I seem to be frequently vomitting, mainly first thing in the morning just before the BH's kick in - and it's yellow too - but I know that it's because it's bile and there is nothing in my stomach other than water at that stage - probably the same for you being middle of the night, do you think? Did you get the itching checked out before? I can't remember...

I'm now getting oodles of comments on the school run about how my walk into the gates is getting slower by the day and that I'm walking as though baby is falling through - oops, so much for ladylike behaviour .

quirkychick · 08/12/2009 16:23

We too have had problems with dd, and she's 4. I have made a real effort to give her lots of attention and it does make a difference. Easier said than done when you feel shitty really tired and hormonal. Also balancing all the stuff that needs doing with giving her some time too.

We are having our downstairs loo repainted at the moment, so I know what everyone means about decorating in late pg. It is the nesting instinct.

alibobins · 08/12/2009 16:30

Please don't count on me being next lol lol he will be 2 weeks late

My bets are that londonlottie has had her little twinnie bobs and then ctofn will be next

CantThinkofFunnyName · 08/12/2009 16:37

Nah Ali - I'm sending you lots of cyber PRESSURE to be the next so I don't appear a loony!!!

OP posts:
alibobins · 08/12/2009 16:46

He he he at least wait until my cold has gone lol lol

MrsVik · 08/12/2009 16:55

Hi everyone!

I'm a bit late in joining the club, but I didn't know it existed until about 2 mins ago!

I am expecting my first baby - a girl - on the 15th Jan. I live in Stuttgart, Germany.

We have already chosen a name - Lucia Rowan.

No proper problems so far, although this last week I have been a bit down - lots of crying and feeling sorry for myself really! I'm blaming the hormones.

We're also building a house right now - due to move in in two weeks, so we're not bored!

That's about it really - just wanted to introduce myself, and also to wish everyone good luck. Hope all of you deliver a nice healthy baby (or two!!).

MrsVik · 08/12/2009 17:18

I still haven't sorted his clothes or changing unit got to get the base for the car seat and nappies then think I'm done.

alibobins · 08/12/2009 18:20

I'm a twin and we were born 2 months early on the bathroom floor he he.
I love having a twin sister she's also my best friend hope your girls have the same bond

whensmydayoff · 08/12/2009 18:53

My money is on the twins too Londonlottie!

mistletoekisses · 08/12/2009 19:02

Ohhh, mnet virtual sweepstake......

crumpette · 08/12/2009 19:44

just dropping in, alas I am still at work [waaaa!]

my money's definitely on londonlottie and alibobins

shiny bit worried about your symptoms, itchy feet at night is classic Obstetric Cholestasis symptom and bright yellow vomit can occur due to bile/deteriorating liver function, please get bile acids and liver function checked?

Hello to all my fellow preggoes. It's so great to be able to do some symptom-sharing for reassurance / companionship!

Congrats to MMB, crossing my fingers for you AliBobbins, and Bethoo, I sympathise with your soon-to-be-3 under 3 - I thought I had it bad being pregnant with a toddler, but now I see that's nothing!

I'm really glad to hear that others have the decorating bug as well... I've owned this flat for nearly four years and yet it's only now that things are really happening to it.

In the last few weeks I've installed carpets in the bedrooms, bought a new dishwasher, changed all the handles on the (disgusting) kitchen cabinets, spent a third of my life savings on a new sofa, and tomorrow we're painting the skirting boards and on Friday we're having carpets put in the rest of the flat.

And then it MUST end! I have no money and am just spending my savings... still, that's what they're there for, right?

I keep buying silly stuff as well, bath towels and new chopping boards and mugs and just anything that I think will make life easier / cosier.

I think it's because I don't really need to buy that much for the new baby because I already have stuff from DS, plus I know it'll all be cheaper in the sales if I wait.

But I just want her to be born into this perfect house! Which is obviously never going to happen but if I can get it just a bit nice then I will be so much happier!

flyingma · 08/12/2009 21:00

Yikes perhaps I should be getting my skates on re furniture etc. I am hoping bubs will hang on till after the Jan sales . Have done my research into stuff I want so if bubs drops out tomorrow, I can sent DH to Mothercare/ JL with a list of stuff we still need.

Made some headway into the car seat problems so once I have stopped by the dealership to check if I have ISOfix fittings, I can buy that.

shinybaubles I considered the list outside the freezer but decided it was OTT. But it is now getting to the stage where I don't know what I already have in there; beats digging everything back up again to find out what was at the bottom of the drawer!

DH was being a cheeky bugger about the whole labelling thing - he came home one day to find all the store cupboard stuff arranged into sections with labels (even the chicken had a label on it he said - in my defence, it was a date label) - and said he could not find the teabags to make me a cuppa as that was not labelled. Might make him a label saying "Cheeky bugger" and put it onto his coat

MMB thanks for the info re the birth... thing is with all the rest of the aches and pains it's hard to know what's what. My BHs are getting more intense and also starting the feel that lightening business... and this being a first baby, I would not be surprised if I could not tell a contraction apart. Fingers crossed that he is home for Xmas - not to be blase but you can buy one of those Baby's First Xmas outfits now

devotion At least broccoli soup is healthy... does not matter if you have loads of that. I have two words to sum up my meal this evening: Dominos Tuesday - worse still, there are some organic carrots and swede sitting in the sink making me feel all guilty.

P/s good luck with driving test: you have a long way to go before you break my record so no worries. I'll let you know when you get even close to it!

Liskey I find I am more likely to cramp after having done more physical activity in a day too. Unfortunately tho I have gone off bananas this pregnancy. Why can't Ben & Jerry's ice-cream come with infused potassium FFS

bethoo What is it about dragons working on GP receptions (sorry if anyone here is one but that's been my experience generally except for my last surgery)? When I phoned to book in for mine, I got a really snappy have you received your invitation letter (no) but she soon sounded slightly apologetic when I said that I was 35 weeks pregnant.

Fraoch, Biccy, saz, MrsVik and ampster Good luck with the work being done. We had most of ours done a few years back as we thought we might sell this place. Now I just need blackout curtains, flooring for the bathroom and doors to be rehung. When DH last tried to fill a hole in the wall, he used the serrated edge of a butter knife so a professional will be coming in to finish that up for us, thankfully. At the moment the work going on is external - extending the drive so I can park on it too. Good thing about renovations now is that you will be more realistic with storage space. I spend my days now grappling with what stuff should be sold/ Freecycled/ donated/ dumped... it's desperately difficult as I want to try and flog most things but that takes time which I am fast running out of!!

whensmydayoff · 08/12/2009 21:25

I just managed to have a proper look and catch up.
Thanks Mistletoekisses, I dont feel that uncomfortable so maybe not
(well, ha apart from - wonky hips, painful pelvis, my new stomach bug and the purple/black swollen little toe I cracked off the door frame yesterday when I misjudged width due to huge bump)
apart from that, Im pretty comfortable!

I can't rememeber who else had a stomach bug/dodgy tum today (possibly alibobbins) but i was advised to eat boiled potatoes and it worked, it's managed to stay put!

This is of great surprise as the advice came from a turkish labourer my DH somehow got chatting to today about his wife having the shits (his words)!

After a busy day in the tinkletorium, I lay on the sofa with DS watching c-beebies (a familier scene in this house lately) and I fell asleep....wait for it, for an hour!!
Luckily when I woke up my 2 yr old DS was still in the same spot staring at tv and he hadn't pulled the xmas tree on him or burnt the house down while I lay snoring so that was a wee bonus . Anyone who feels guilty about their DC's not getting as much attention at the moment, can now feel like Mary Poppins and supernanny rolled into one compared to my efforts of late!

MissMarjoribanks · 09/12/2009 00:03

Ali et al - I expected a runny tummy before labour as well, however it was quite the opposite, I was utterly constipated. I suspect the midwives had to deal with it all later. I did have a stinking cold the day before though, with a bit of a fever. I place my bets on Ali being next.

I don't envy any of you being in the middle of decorating - we just finished our projects a couple of weeks ago, though we desperately need a new kitchen, but it'll have to wait.

My mum has turned up today and has done all the ironing, cleaned the kitchen and sorted the washing out whilst DH and I went to see Thomas this evening. She's an absolute star. MIL hasn't offered any help at all, but her youngest son is ill, so I'll let her off. Apart from the fact this youngest son is in fact 35 and a doctor.

And I've now managed to master expressing and typing at the same time.

shinybaubles · 09/12/2009 07:50

crumpette will ask gynaecologist on Friday I have an appointment then.

We are also living in a building site my kitchen is from the 1950's and is cream, green and chrome - we moved in and parked the american fridge freezer and range cooker in and it looks very odd now. Every room is partially decorated - but dh works for himself and has to put all the hours into making money at the moment - so it's all on hold.

flyingma the list is a bit ott but I feel better knowing the freezer is full as dh can cook toast and porridge and that's it.
