missmarjorybanks Im so impressed with your expressing and typing!!
How is wee Thomas? Any idea when he will be home roughly?

Did that mysterious cold just vanish next day after you had him then?
OOh another possible weird labour sign.

I was paranoid last night as was getting Braxton Hicks a lot along with the runny tummy. MN'rs put thought in my head but It was just that. Phew, not organised enough!

DS seems even worse today. Now the runny nose is baaaaad and made him throw up his weetabix across the breakfast table, Nice!
Im so waiting to get this as while he was screaming and being cuddled by me he shoved one of his snotty hands over my mouth. YUCK.
Maybe I should just go and chew on his toothbrush, get it over before xmas !

How are you today alibobins?

Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 09/12/2009 08:59

Hi all

Not been on for a while, and trying to catch up. Started mat leave on Monday Yah!!, but also started with cold, snotty nose head full of cotton wool etc. so feel like crap.

Have managed to wash baby clothes, and am going to get them from the dryer in a mo (honest!) On the bowel front, I go from one extreme to another, sometimes in the same day?? Right now though think its due to feeling unwell.

I really have a strong feeling this baby will come early, but have no rational for that. I can imagine it just as we sit down to xmas dinner. Or later when everyone had a drink and I'll end up driving myself.

ali glad your holding on.

I'm with the masses and think that it will be london next then cant

Oh well back to thesofa the washing.

sockmonkey · 09/12/2009 09:37

Welcome mrsvik

I can't believe all of you nesters! I think DH would love it if I got the nesting instinct, but it just never happens.
I tried to be a bit more organised yesterday, do some extra washing, actually put it all away, bit of vac-ing, tidying, shopping etc and ended up with terrible back ache, so I think I will go back to being a lazy mare.

It's DS1's nativity today (he is narrator number 4 hahaha) so will have to pack the tissues. I cry at the drop of a hat, so will no doubt make a fool of myself.

Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 09/12/2009 09:52

Hi sock I'm with you on the lazy mare front, I told dh on Sunday that just because I won't be in work don't expect the house to be spotless, I just don't have the energy at nearly 35wks and feeling like crap.
I am getting through the washing its just the ironing and putting away I can't muster.

Don't you just love nativity, good luck for ds today, my dd's is on tuesday and I can't wait (she is a narrator as well). And why do they know everyone elses lines??

Hope those of you not feeling great start to get better soon.

34+4

alibobins · 09/12/2009 11:09

bethoo · 09/12/2009 11:11

had SF jab yesterday and general concensus is that it is a must really according to the lady who did me. and apparatnly contrary to what the media says it is safe nad has bene thoroughly tested etc. we had a good chat as originally my mw was a bit blase saying it was up to me but now appratnly she is all for it and would encourage it. the lady who gave me the injection (dont know technical term!!!) said to tell all my preggy friends to get it done. anyway i think most of us here have had it done now so i am prob talking ot myself
anyway my arm is agony and could not bring dogs to work as it meant my left arm would have been wrenched around by unruly disobedient young dog who thinks he is pit bull in cavalier clothing!
i am getitng cramps almost constantly now and if i sit down for long periods when i get up and walk i waddle like john wayne as i feel tighteinings all over my arse and thighs and pelvic area. anyoen feel the same?
i am so damm unconfortable.
ref tummy probs, i dare not go as have severe piles!! though i did get the runs just before labour.
anyway enough of my raving like a mad woman which is all i seem ot do these days hope everyone is well and how is Alibobins today?

CantThinkofFunnyName · 09/12/2009 11:23

Hey hey hey - what's all this about me being next after LondonLottie? Ali - I blame you for starting that sweepstake!

I am 35+6 and due to have c/s in 2 weeks 6 days (woohoo) but went 10 and 9 days late with previous two so don't put money on me lovely ladies . Although, have to say would be really quite pleased if the bub decided to put in an early appearance, all over and done with etc. But like SixMincePies, I keep getting a feeling/worry that something will happen with those all around me are sloshed, even though I keep issuing warnings about too much alcohol, just in case! Judging by state of DH when he arrived home from a night out last night, my "warnings" are falling on deaf ears!!!

My DS (10) junior nativity tonight. He is playing Joseph and has a whole song to sing solo. V proud and will deffo have to take the tissues. Will spend entire service in tears no doubt. DD (6) has her infant nativity tomorrow and is Narrator #1. Like other DCs here, she knows EVERYONE's lines!!!!

I have to confess that unlike some of you here, I have been sleeping really really well. I do, of course wake up for loo trips a couple of times a night and have to take a little time to turn over, repositioning pillows etc - but my typical night is 9.30pm to 7am with maybe 2 loo trips, Gaviscon sips and pillow repositions! So I think I've been very lucky - certainly from my recollection of previous pg's at this stage.

Not so for last night. I did my usual loo trip around 2am and then was totally wide awake until just before 6am. Kept thinking about food (was starving) but didn't want to get up as knew I had a bit of a busy day today and would be shattered. So I just tossed and turned to finally fall into a deep sleep just before 6 with the alarm going off at 7!!

Confession...... drove the kids to school in PJs and big fluffy lilac dressing gown with flip flops on feet! Stayed in car and hoped and prayed that didn't get into an accident or anything else that would have necessitated me getting out of car ! When I got home, went straight back to bed but of course couldn't sleep

Oh well - off to do my Wednesday jobs before DDs horse-riding this afternoon and DS nativity.

Happy Wednesday all

Hi all! Thanks for the welcome :D

34+5 today and got my second-to-last ante-natal class this evening. I definitely feel like something's changed in these last couple of days - my pelvis is killing me!

Has everyone had the SW jab? I haven't - my doctor told me not to bother. Bit worried now though.

I wish I was in a cleaning/organising frenzy like some of you! The place could really do with it.

Have a good day everyone!

FakePlasticChristmasTrees · 09/12/2009 11:47

hi all, and welcome MrsVik!

So yesterday was my last day at work - feels very odd - not going to be doing the commute until 2011... I've never left a job I was happy in before, it's always been to go to something better and it just feels odd to have nothing to do now... well I say that, the house looks like a student slum - just need to find the energy to get the hoover out.

Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 09/12/2009 11:51

cant aren't you both due to have a section on that loveliest of days 29th december, my birthday in case any one forgot, i think i have mentioned it (a few times. It could all come down to the time of your op. ooohhh exciting, although do think ali might beat you both to it.

Hope everything goes well with dd ali bethoo my dh commented on my waddling the other day, never said anything before so I am definately putting on weight now.

OMG!!! I have just put a load of washing in the dryer and refilled the washer, and got an almighty pain across my lower abdo, with tightening and pains in fanjo. Had to have a sit down . No pressure or anything underneath though.

cant at you sleeping well, although I don't have to get up to pee (bladder like a camel) I am tossing ang turning/repositioning most of the night due to heartburn, and pain in hip when lie on one side to long.

Oh the joys, we'd put any one off, lucky that its all forgotten the minute we get to snuggle our LO's.

Fraochsmum · 09/12/2009 12:13

I am with you on the work front Fake, mine is going great at the moment, although feel I really need to stop it as getting pretty tired. Officially I am part time (only doing my second job for the next couple of weeks) but still have a day to do tomorrow and more handover. My mat cover started last week, but it was particularly busy and she had a really bad throat and chest infection...
Cantthink - I too am sleeping well still at 36 + 2 - usually wake for the toilet once, but no need for extra pillows etc.
Still no bh's at all but I'm getting pelvis pain after sitting a while Bethoo. Hope the piles clear up though, was talking to friend the other day who said they were the worst after having ds (5 months ago). In her case they run in the family but she refuses to get the op.
I had my sf jab MrsVik a couple of weeks ago - no side effects apart from a sore arm for several days but was not worried at all the last time I had to do work in a school
Windows got finished yesterday!!! Absolutely delighted, taking 1 day instead of the 2 1/2 they thought, and the difference is immediate. Need to turn the heaters down now
Have an afternoon off today so will spend it packing my bag and washing baby clothes - didn't know this was necessary, but seeing as mostly everyone has said that's what they do...when in Rome etc!

Bethoo, meant to say that if you are having problems with your dogs pulling, I have Halti's for both my labradors and they are brilliant! I honestly don't think I could walk them on the lead without them now - well obviously I don't have them on a lead at this stage of pg! Only problem is that people think they are muzzles

somewhathorrified · 09/12/2009 12:28

Omg how fast is this thread moving now!

Have to say I appear to have a virus too, dodgy tummy, snotty nose and sore throat. Am seeing a day in front of the TV being waited on by DH who is also not feeling great, but I'm pregnant so I win on the pampering front.

I can't believe you guys with all the nesting, please send some vibes my way on that front as I'm really struggling to get anything done, half expect MW to turn up and refuse me a HB based on the fact that my place looks like an old single guys lives here (dust and piles of stuff everywhere).

Hope you all enjoy nativity plays...don't give away the plot to everyone else though.

Liskey · 09/12/2009 12:33

I keep chasing my Gp's surgery for the swine flu jab - and have now been told that pregnant women are considered only the second "at risk" group and they will let me know when to come in!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 09/12/2009 12:34

SixMincePies - yes, both LondonLottie and I are scheduled for your birthday - apologies if we don't get on to wish you happy birthday for a few days !! BUT BUT BUT Shiny is scheduled for her c/s on 24th Dec so she theoretically should be the next.... however, I still think Alibobins will pop naturally before then

London - I had SPD post natally with DC2. Wasn't aware that I had it during the pg, but probably did. However, I'm afraid it really did kick in about 2 days after the birth. Probably something to do with the way my legs were positioned during the push.... which you DON'T have to worry about with a c/s .
Like you, I'm praying that all other pg ailments disappear fairly pronto. With other 2, I was literally right as rain within hours of giving birth so, fingers crossed for all of us! Might take a week or so though for our hormones to settle down - particularly those of us with c/s as the body won't have started it's natural hormone cleansing for want of a better description!

Oh just read that your a twin as well alibobins i'm an identical twin - and yes we were 2 months early! (And my parents only had 2 weeks notice of twins - this was the 70s)

Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 09/12/2009 13:25

cant I am well and truly disappointed at your lack of enthusiasum in wishing me a happy birthday when the time comes, being in hospital having a c section does not in my book count as a plausable excuse. lol
I shall of course expect wishes in advance.

london I was very lucky in that my parents always made my birthday a separate event from christmas. When I got older and wanted more expensive presents I did sometimes have to compromise on my birthday but we always had a tea party/cake etc to make it special.

I had spd with dc4 and again with this one but I didn't even notice it once in labour and didn't suffer afterwards, I'm hoping for the same this time.

Does any one know if I go into labour early before 40wks whether I'll still be able to have a waterbirth. At what gest. do they not let you have one either early or late.

shinybaubles · 09/12/2009 13:26

Hi everyone 2 weeks tomorrow till the little one arrives, and have spent the morning spring cleaning the kitchen including the oven and doing the laundry - fascinating stuff .

Am having a hellish time sleeping, loads of peeing, reflux and being awake - oh well good prep for a newborn.

Also still don't have the sf jab, partially avoiding it, not wanting to make a decision and thinking but the babys will be here in 2 weeks it's not so long - all really scientific reasons .

bethoo · 09/12/2009 13:37

Fraochsmum my boxer wears a halti and is as good as gold but i heard gentle leaders were better so got one for my cavalier, but though it stated it was the correct size for him it is too tight as leaves marks on his nose and i end up either dragging him with his front legs wrapped around his nose or he drags his face across the ground. so for now he does not wear it and just yanks me everywhere as he goes for everything and if he sees another dog he literally screams as if he is being poked with hot pokers it is that bad and attention drawing! then obviously he sets my other dog off who joins in with the abusive barking! the cavalier can literally pull my buggy off course so i career onto the road. i have been tempted to rehome him as he has alot of issues in that he is the most greediesst ignorant little dog i have ever come across though i have started to train him with treats as all he lives for is food. anyhoo i do love him but at the moment he is just extra hard work. i am getting him a halti when i next get the opportunity ie a pet shop!

somewhathorrified · 09/12/2009 13:42

sixmincepies I would have thought that waterbirth and HB would be treated the same so from 37 weeks (36 in some places I've heard). Don't know about if your late.

Liskey · 09/12/2009 13:42

My Parents always did the same thing Sixmincepiessoontobeseven - as my birthday is on the 15th Dec. Plus children get very over excited at having all the presents all at once! Apparently we did that when we were about 3 and ended up having a fit.

Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 09/12/2009 14:03

Thanks somewhat I not sure if I am late but go spontaneously I can still have one, but if have to be induced not. I will ask mw next week.

Omg liskey I've never been so excited I had a fit, but as it was inbetween xmas and NY the house was always still decorated and I secretly loved it although my dh says I moan about it, but thats only when ignorant people forget to even send me a card.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 09/12/2009 14:21

Can I just add another topic of conversation..... does anyone else suffer from the same mid-day eating affliction I seem to have? From about 11am through to 3pm I want to eat constantly - mainly rubbish. Then I'm full pretty much for the rest of the day!

I have, rather ashamedly, just cut into my beautifully decorated homemade Xmas cake because I couldn't find anything else naughty to eat !

Yes me too I had bought 3 chocolate oranges and put them in the basement for Christmas - they no longer exist - . Although I have only gained 5 kilos so I guess I should enjoy it while it lasts.
