Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

desperatehousewife · 14/07/2005 09:56

just had my first appointment with doc (for some reason i was really worked up about it and therefore blood pressure high...humph). They receptionist wanted to give me my first midwife appointment at 10 weeks - I was very assertive and insisted it was earlier as I want the nuchal scan at 12 weeks and was worried this wouldn't leave enough time to book me in - so have first midwife appointment next monday (when I'll be in my 7th week)!

Feel really chuffed with my assertiveness. I am determined not to be ignored/forgotton about this time round.

morning all, still nothing from my M/W who's ment to ring me sometime this week - do u think I should call her i'm 6 weeks exactly tomorrow. according to the dr.

desperatehousewife · 14/07/2005 10:18

no harm in ringing i guess...

munz · 14/07/2005 10:21

that's what i'm thinking cos I really want to get in for an early scan nexst week if I can to make sure everything's OK.

oneofeach · 14/07/2005 12:53

Desperate - I had a MacDonalds craving with my DS - I hate McD and never go there but I just had to have it. I think it was the saltiness I liked.

I felt much more sick when I had my DD than with my DS, but I suppose having DS to look after whilst pregnant made me more tired and therefore I felt worse. This time I feel a bit funny about food, never sure what I fancy to eat, but I just feel so tired all the time. This heat doesn't help.
Rang doc's this morning (we have to book appt the day you want to see them) and I couldn't get the time I wanted so will try again tomorrow.
Like you Desperate Housewife I want to make sure I get my appointment for the nuchal scan in plenty of time, I go on hols when I'm almost 13 weeks.
Hope everyone is feeling good and knocking back the ginger ale.

munz · 14/07/2005 13:10

rang the m/w they don't start till 1.30 so ahve left a message for her to ring me hope she'll be quick.

munz · 14/07/2005 13:26

had a call back, my actual midwife's not there this week so i'll be havin a call early part next week then first apt the week after when i'm 8 weeks hopefully she'll book me straigh in for a scan apparently it's normal in our pratice not to be seen by the m/w b4 then and not have an early scan hope beanie stays OK.

Jackstini · 14/07/2005 16:30

Don't worry Munz. I had my first docs appointment today and they said same thing. Usual is to see midwife at 10-12 weeks and they book you in for a scan for just a few days later. Feel bit more confident now too as my doc did a double dip test from my urine this morning and I saw 2 matching positive results!

RosiePosie · 14/07/2005 16:54

Hi everyone. Welcome Jackstini . I will attempt to update the stats list in the next couple of days. My mother has been staying for the last two nights and has gone home this afternoon - I chickened out and didn't tell her so I shall have to next time. I don't know why I found it so hard, I don't think she would react well, she's recently started on anti depressants and I guess I don't want to upset her. So, I've had to pretend to not feel sick which has been hard! She did wonder why I was taking packets of biscuits up to bed with me, but she just thought I was being a greedy pig! Anyhow, now she is gone I can go back to letting it all hang out and lying on the sofa.

marne · 14/07/2005 21:08

Hi all,
found out im pg this morning, felt a bit sick so i took a test. Soi think im due in march. Im so pleased. i have a dd who is 17 months, wanted them close together (am i mad?).

Frizbe · 14/07/2005 22:30

Hi all, glad your all having a good day, me to so far, hardly any nausea!!

Hi to Marne and welcome, no your not mad having them close together, my dd is only 3 mths older than yours and I have friends who have two with less than a year gap now that is brave in my book!

Cadmum · 15/07/2005 18:52

Welcome marne! congratulations. There is 23 months between our first two and I love that age gap! I found it more challenging to have 3 years between the 2nd and 3rd and I am (hopefully) about to discover what a 4 year gap is like with this baby. (sounds like I should write an article about age gaps with all of this experience...)

I am glad to see that you have been a talkative bunch. It is nice to have people to share all of the 1st trimester with. I fluctuate between thinking that I am not sick enough and running to be sick. I was convinced that my boobs were not sore enough until yesterday and now I am thinking that I should be careful what I wish for...

Oh how I would LOVE to have twins... No, really I would just love to have a baby at all actually. Feel like my odds are 50/50 at best since I have had 3 babies and three second trimester miscarriages. Wish I could hit fast forward and find myself in January with only 2 months to go...

Did I mention that DH is working in New York at the moment (Until July31)? Well, the exciting part is that he will be finding out about a permanent position he has applied for shortly. Could mean that we have one American peanut... We had our first in Canada and then spent a year in the UK. Came home expecting our second who was also born in Canada and then our third was born in London.

Cadmum · 15/07/2005 19:03

Jackstini: Conratulations! Hope you love it here and become an addict!

Rosie-Posie: I also haven't mustered up the courage to tell our family that I am expecting again. Think I shall wait until 10 weeks or so and by then we should know about New York as well so then nobody will be overly worried about us. IYKWIM. I had to laugh about the biscuits. You don't think that your mum suspected something?

Oneofeach: I also ate at McDo's yesterday for the first time in AGES! How strange. I just needed a 1/4 pounder with cheese! Remind me when I complain about the weight gain that there is likely a connection with grease!

Ags: Interesting about the sickness! I was the exact opposite. I could bear the sick feeling with my DSs but I actually took medication with DD because I was sick all of the time and actually managed to lose 15 lbs by the time I was 18 weeks... I wonder if it is a gender thing or merely a coincidence?

Munz: Where are you? I have missed you over the last couple of days. (my computer was on the fritz!) Still feeling sickish?

Frizbe · 15/07/2005 19:19

Oh hi Cadmum, nice to see you on here where is everyone today, off enjoying the great British Weather whilst they can?! Is it hot where you are Cadmum?

toothyboy · 15/07/2005 19:44

All this talk of MacD's, mmmm, that could be one of my cravings!!

I've been feeling really pukey over the last couple of days - didn't have this last time - it's not nice is it?

Hello to those just joining us, I'm losing track of who's here now!

Anyway hope everyone's OK!

munz · 15/07/2005 19:48

Lizzylou · 15/07/2005 20:00

Off all next week for a UK break, hope all are doing OK, still no sore boobs! But feel v tired, crotchety and nauseous...off to eat huge Macaroni cheese and choccie biscuits!

expressmummy · 15/07/2005 21:36

munz rest up and get yourself better x x x x x

munz · 16/07/2005 08:23

morning then girls, the headache's gone thanks, it was really scarey thou, pins and nedles down my right side and I couldn't talk cos I even had them in my mouth! - if you've heard of that? - I didn't htink it was possible, anyhow DH packed me off to bed with two paraceotmal (sp) where I later emerged fully awake but still with the residual headche, thankfully thou all better today bar the sickiness, unfotunatly it's still there but don't mind that so much.

lol@RP, letting it all hang out - ooh sound's like u been to our house! does the buscuits at bed time really help? I found a small glass of milk helped the other day, but them my nan was telling me milk curdles in ur tummy in this heat (she doesn't know i'm pg) so now I don't know about that one.

marne - hiya, have you worked out your due date yet? I think Jm has a little one of 10 months an'd 6 months PG, (or ages like that - I think jess will be 15 months she said - ooh she must be a bit older then) - v brave if u ask me!

friz - how r u and the printer today? - must say DH found that amusing yesterday - I did get him to come on and read the gossip for me! lol.

cadmum - good luck for NY fingers crossed he gets the job, 31st Juky only another 2 weeks to go, so fingers crossed it will fly for you.

anchovies - where r u hon?

I think u r all out in the sun arn't u! lol.

EM - you'll have to take a little pillow in and have a snooze under your desk when the boss isn't looking! lol.

Looks like the parents here have decided we're having twins (well my whole family have said i'm having twins, althou they don't know we're PG yet) but everyone recons twin girls so we shall see, just found out yesterday thou there's an additional two ses I didn't know about which now makes 5 sets of twins in the family - we're doomed I tell u doomed! lol. still we shall see what the dr say's at the scan. Was hoping for an early scan but they deem me as low risk - FFS i've only had a m/c last cycle b4 this one - not sure if to ring the EPU or not and see if I can be squeezed in, althou DH is away from this friday coming for a week then i'm off home to my parent's for a week, then the PIL's are up for 2 weeks - so it's all go! lol.

anyhow hope everyone's doing OK. DHW - where r u as well?

(friz bella tells me rom's holiday's two weeks not one so hopefully she's come over on thursday to us)

desperatehousewife · 16/07/2005 08:40

hi everyone - hope you are all ok today. I'm very snappy at the moment, my boobs still hurt and feel very heavy (eugh!) and I feel sick everytime I bend down to pick something up or when I'm loading the dishwasher and I get a whiff of it!!

Get sledgehammer tiredness every afternoon too...bizarre. Can't move off sofa.

have a good weekend girls. Got my first midwife appointment on monday
x

oldfool · 16/07/2005 09:04

Sorry I haven't been back- my 16 yo is following me round the house at the mo and every time I sit at the computer he's peering over my shoulder! Still very sore boobs, very tired and very very snappy with everyone.

The pains went away but came back yesterday with a vengeance. Is stretching pain possible, because that's what it feels like?

Very stupidly spent 40 mins in the hot sun last sunday at a jitterbugging lesson.... great fun but suffered for it on Monday.

(Other kids are 18 & 20!)

BarefootMama · 16/07/2005 09:07

Gosh OF! You have done well! How old are you ( cheeky i know)!

Frizbe · 16/07/2005 11:23

Hi all

Glad your feeling a bit better Munz, Desperatehousewife I know how you feel, have been feeling ick all week at different smells, however today is another day, and I must say for the first time in two weeks, I'm feeling over the moon hardley any nausea and I'm putting it down to the ginger ale, and a huge pile of marmite on toast before I went to bed last night which dh hates as well (tee hee) said the smell of it was making him gag!
Anyway hope you all have a great weekend, I must go and get some house stuff done whilst dd is in bed TTFN

Cadmum · 16/07/2005 12:31

I had the worst sleep ever last night... Filled with really strange dreams and then I woke up at 7:00 convinced that I am not pregnant any more. I was expecting to see blood when I went to the loo...
Still not 100% convinced that I won't by the end of the day.

Frizbe · 16/07/2005 13:14

Oh Cadmum {{{Big Hugs}}} I've found that odd dreams are a sign of pregnancy tho, so hope all is well and your feeling a bit better now?
