Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

Starry - so the big belly thing isn't just me being a big fat bloater then! Thank god...I can't believe it can be bigger than normal already (with DS I didn't feel any different around the waist until nearly 3 months).

Welcome DesperateHousewife. I am also 34 and our youngest DS was 3 in February. I also have a DS who is 8 and a DD 6.

Still wish that I could just relax and enjoy being pregnant but with only a 50% success rate, I feel justified worrying...

Hi to eveyone new! although I think I already know a few of you
Glad to see its not just me that's feeling fat too, dh keeps joking its twins...as I have a bigger tum already, even my Mum commented on it at the weekend....I reckon its just the muscles are slacker after dd! and that as I can't excercise it, to keep it in, its taking liberties!!!
Had a horrible bout of sickiness tonight, made dh go out and buy some dinner as neither of us wanted to cook....
Found out today a mate of mine is pregnant and due 2 weeks before me with her 2nd also! so whoo hooo, not on my own as it were!

Hi everyone. I have just found out I am pregnant after a fab holiday in France. Already have ds aged 22 months. Am 7 weeks pg on Thursday and while not exactly planned, me and dh are very pleased although also finding it a bit hard to actually believe.

Am optimistic that pregnancy will go well as had quite an easy one last time but also have the usual dreads and worries and hopes that all will be well with the baby.

Was a bit worried how dh would take it as he is besotted with ds and was not quite 'there' on being ready to have another due to his obsession with our first. But he just grinned very widely and was delighted.

I have exactly the same symptom as my last pregnancy, just sore boobs. I guess I am really lucky not to be sick but sometimes I find myself wishing I had more symptoms in order to help me believe I actually am pregnant. Nothing too nasty though! My sympathies to anyone who is suffering and my congratulations to all fellow Marchians!

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone again. I am going to go to the docs this week and 'get in the system'. I was really excited when I first found out, now I feel a bit kind of deflated as I don't feel that different. Boobs a bit sore and I am definitely very tired but not sick or anything yet. Hopefully I'll be regretting moaning about that in a couple of weeks! By the way Desperate Housewife, I had PND after my DS but after DD I was absolutely fine and desperate for another pretty soon after (hence this is no3). Best wishes for everyone off to have their first appts with midwives etc!

I had my ds in Ireland so am totally unfamiliar with the English system of antenatal care. Haven't been to docs yet. Didn't go last time til I was 13 weeks pregnant. Any advice? I know I need to go to docs soon but what happens then? Would be glad to get a handle on the process so I don't feel so green! Even though I should feel green as I am Irish!! Sorry that was sooo bad!

Hi Ags, you don't have to go the the docs this early if you don't want to. In fact you don't have to go the the docs at all. I'm not planning on getting into the system for a few weeks, probably when I'm about 10 wks, because I know I'll be offered a 12 weeks scan here, which I've never had before, so I'm quite keen! I'm not planning on seeing the docs at all, I shall just make an appointment directly with the midwife. Some surgery's make it difficult for you to do this and insist you see a GP first - this is only because the GP gets about £600 every time he signs a form saying he is providing antenatal care, and often he rarely even sees you again. If I encounter this problem with my surgery I shall phone the maternity unit directly and ask to see the community midwife. Some areas offer you a 12 and a 20 week scan, some areas only offer you the 20 weeks scan. You usually see the midwife every 4 weeks until about 28 weeks, then every two weeks and then every week when you get to 36 weeks. Bloods are usually taken at about 12 weeks and then 28 weeks to check iron levels. I'm declining the 12 week bloods, because most of the information they would gain is already written on my previous notes ( and I totally hate having blood taken! ). I may have the 28 week bloods done if I think I may be anaemic. Hope that helps!

Munz,

feel ok today thank you - you are very good at checking in with everybody & knowing what stage everyone is at! - seriously impressed with that!!

I am making a list of all the things I want to be firm about when I have my first visit to the doc/midwife eg: breech scans, single midwife throughout (I had 6 last time and not a single one was available for me when i went into labour!), nuchal test and possible elective c-section.

Feeling a bit more confident.

Tried to run across a busy road today to get myself a coffee and thought my boobs were going to burst...ow!

Still don't really fancy anything particular to eat - don't feel sick as such, but just a bit icky...not like me at all!

Really really happy that there are so many of us at the same stage. Very exciting. Fingers crossed for everyone - hope all goes well.
xxxx

Hi all, well I'm still feeling green sat here munching my way thru a packet of fruit shortcakes to try and boost my energy levels and get rid of sickness (have run out of ginger bics!) Probably not good for the waist line, but it seems to be doing the trick!
Munz, to be honest I'd like just the one, as we already have dd and ss, and twins would mean an even bigger car/van, not to mention the probable need for a bigger house! but eh, we'll be happy with whatever we're given it's only dh speculating, I just reckon its a boy, as dd didn't give me any sickness at all hardly!

Morning everyone

Well you'll all be jealous to hear that I've only just got up! Woke up at 6 was sick, dh got up with ds and I went back to bed and woke up at 10am! I am just so tired I could sleep all day! Am still being very sick, am suffering through a piece of toast but only cos I can't bear being sick with nothing inside me again. Was just the same last time, scary to think I've got another 6 weeks of this!

Oh for the stats I am 25 and due on the 4th March with number 2.

Desperatehousewife - Hi! Glad to hear you're feeling more confident about things!

Frizbe - fruit shortcakes, they're the first thing in about a week I could fancy! Sending dh to tesco now! (I bet he wishes he was in work today!)

Hi all

No symptoms here as of yet, but I wasn't ill at all with DS, just ate my own (considerable) body weight in cake and chocolate every day for 9mths! I am trying to eat healthily and rest up, which isn't easy with a teething and over-hot toddler!
I haven't been to the docs yet either, s'funny, with Ds I rushed there and couldn't wait "to get into the system" but we've since moved and I don't like the new doc and suppose I feel a bit more secure in that I know whats to come!

I really feel for all of you with sickness, hope it soon passes........

Well, I am 7 weeks today and feeling pretty green. Not quite as bad as last week but that's only because I'm getting used to the feeling I think! I have to eat constantly to stop feeling nauseous, although I've only thrown up once. My dh is away all week, so it's going to be a long hard week for me, on my own with the two littlies. It's such a miserable time, this morning sickness stage! Here's hoping it doesn't last until 18 weeks like it did with dd.
