Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

Hi Munz and welcome. Well, I don't know if it's just a coincidence but I think I may have found what helps my sickness this time around. Ginger Ale! I've been sipping it all afternoon and definately feeling better than I was this morning. 6 weeks? 6 weeks seems like such a long time! And last time I was very unlucky and had constant nausea until 18 weeks, so that means another 11 or 12 weeks! I'm praying for a repeat performance of pg no. 1 which only involved nausea until 11 weeks.

No worries Rosie, I think I may give the ginger ale a go, as the ginger bics aren't working as well as last time for me! I seem to have developed a craving for anything savoury as well? odd stuff eh!

I'm going to join this thread incognito because we haven't told anyone yet and don't plan to for a long while. I'm 42, my children are teenagers and I feel really silly that we have slipped up. Due 11 March.

DH is worrying himself stupid about everything that can go wrong. He's somehow got it into his head that I might die because I'm so old (reassuring or what!).

I have 2 enormous and very painful footballs attatched to my chest, so I'm finding it hard to sleep, and I've been feeling quite sicky too. With the others I'm sure it started later.

The thing worrying me is that I've been having a lot of different abdominal aches and pains. I had a week or so of my usual PMT cramps but since then I've had a low down pain on my left side that comes and goes. It doesn't seem to stay very long. I've had no bleeding and the test I did last Sat was Very +. The other pain I'm getting seems to be central and just under my navel, so I think it's IBS brought on by worrying.

When I first got the low pain I was convinced it meant it's ectopic but the fact it isn't getting any worse and does go away suggests not. Can anyone reassure me?

Finally (this is longer than I planned) I can't remember what happens about Dr/hospital/mw because it's been such a long time. I know our hospital offers the nuchal scan at 11+3 to anyone over 35 but does anything happen before that? Do I need to see the Dr yet?

munz · 09/07/2005 09:45

OF - hiya and welcome - snap on the due date! lol@ur DH about u dying, and the footballs - join the club hon!

about the pains - might well be tempted to get it checked out with the Dr, but then again if you're happy it's nothing too serious it's up to you. I think it's just the 12 weeks scan and 20 week one. in our pratice you have to see the dr for a referal b4 he'll send you off to the midwive, not sure if this is a common pratice amongst dr's or not.

how old r ur other two?

Morning all!
EM great news re scans etc, glad your being looked after well by the quacks.

Welcome to OM, don't worry about your age, my Gran had my Mum at your age! and she lived until 94! (poor old mum youngest of 8 boys, if she was a boy, Gran swears she'd have drowned her!) Wasn't Madonna your age when she had her youngest? just you remind dh about the 67year old in Italy, that should shut him up! (guess he's just in shock eh!)
Sure things will be fine for you.
Its practice over our way to get a quacks appmt 1st, then they let you see the midwife at 8wks, even on 2nd/3rd etc pregnancies! Sure if you have any worries they'll scan you etc.

Hope eveyone else is feeling ok, looks like a nice hot sunny weekend for us all to feel sick in....just a tad queasy this am myself......ho hum.....

Ah morning all, slightly queasy today, luckily not too bad, as dd had decided to take her nappy of in her cot this am, only it had a mound of poo in it......'mummy' she yells, I open door to pooey nappy being waved at me, whilst she is standing on one leg as other foot is covered in poo along with bedding ....if there was anything to make you barf it would be that me thinks, but I managed to hold it in....

Hi

Thought I would venture here very cautiously. I am 6 weeks on Wed. Still feeling fine but boobs are sore and I seem to have developed an even bigger tummy than before. I am putting on so much weight it is scary. I did a pregnancy test in mid June because I thought I might be pregnant on account of my tummy being so big but it was just fat! I am quite thin so my tummy really shows. Not quite sure how I am going to hide it until 12 weeks.

Hope all of you are fine. By the way my due date is March 7.

Hi Starryeyed, we have the same due date.
I have been wondering if I couldn't be farther on as I am feeling fat already. I was planning to keep it a secret till at least 12 wks but my mum is coming to stay next week and she isn't likely to let some extra weight go unremarked!

How are you doing oldfool? Have your abdo pains settled down yet? I will be 42 by my due date and am a bit worried how my creaky old body will cope with the pregnancy. When I was last pregnant we had to have nuchal scans privately. I'll need to find out what happens now. I am wondering about CVS too.

It's just my nipples that are really sore. My bras all feel tight and uncomfortable especially in this heat. Dont want to buy a new one just yet for I think I might gain a lot of weight quite quickly this time.

May I reluctantly join you? I am due March 10. I am busy worrying that I am not sick enough and that my boobs are not sore enough. Can't wait to regret this line of thinking!

hello everyone, can I join please? I didn't realise you were all here!

I'm 34 and 5 weeks preg. I have a DS who has just turned 3. I am VERY excited. My boobs are killing me, I feel very tired, bit sicky - can't decide what if anything I want to eat ever (most unlike me!), clothes are already a bit tight...this cannot be? Surely they have shrunk??

I have foolishly told everyone I know now (with a big disclaimer that it's early days yet and anything could happen).

I'm pretty scared - had horrid birth and PND experience first time round with DS.

Am gagging to get into the 'system' and have my first scan and feel reassured.

Hi Cadmum, welcome! I've only just started feeling symptoms and I'll be 7 weeks on Wed - so don't worry! With my ds I don't think I had any symptoms as all!!

Welcome Desperatehousewife - I'm also 34, my ds has just turned 2! Hope your experience this time is better for you.

And welcome Starryeyed - I hope you've lots of baggy clothes to hide the bump!!

Hope everyone else's boobs and bellies aren't causing too much trouble!!
