Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

OP posts:

my god - can't believe there's people on this thread already at the 12 week scan stage. Keeping everything crossed all is fine. How exciting!

swiperfox · 15/08/2005 21:36

DHW - I have to admit, the planned cs was fantastic. No labour, no panic no pain!!
They generally book you in 2 weeks (roughly) before your due date because its more risky having a cs if you are contracting (risky is prob the wrong word - its harder to do)
I had to take a tablet at 6am to neutralize my stomach acids. I had to be there for 8am. They give you a little talk through whats they're going to do etc and you go in at about 9ish. You can take a cd to listen to. Everything is very calm, all the staff are friendly and chatty and talk to you all the way through. DS was born at 9.47am.
I think the main thing is that it's all so so calm and relaxed. We got loads of pics with ds that i never got with the emergency and none of the stress!

desperatehousewife · 16/08/2005 07:47

swiper - that's really really good to hear. God, sounds so much better than an emergency! I remember the tinny tape player they had in theatre when I had mine - piping out a terrible compilation tape with that awful song "All that she wants is another baby". It was surreal!

munz · 16/08/2005 09:05

just quicky today girls - really gotta cut back on my time on here whilst at work!

first m/w apt today, at 12 so will let u all know.

tb - er, I am feeling (when having a prod about) a 'lump' assuming is the bean in my lower pelvic area/on the tummy crease bit iycwim. prodded on fri and the bean didn't seem to like it as I got a tingle and it went awway, then it was back again last night - thinking is near the surface? - is that possible?

anyhow only 6 days till BIL goes home and I can get in on our comp for a proper goss!

Lizzylou · 16/08/2005 09:11

Hello everyone, hope you're all OK and not feeling too rough...

I am ok, so tired I could cry, but OK! I have my dating scan on 31st August (they do them at 13 weeks here) so am very excited about that.......all been really hectic with guests staying ( My family live miles away) and I am a bridesmaid on Sunday for my best friend...I have already completely lost my waist and my boobs are gigantic! I tried the dress on last Thursday and, as it is chocolate brown satin, think I look like a giant poo!! It is beautiful,. but I certainly don't do it justice! Can't wait to stand next to the three skinny, beautiful bridesmaids!!! xxxxxxxx

Frizbe · 16/08/2005 10:50

Enjoy your booking in Munz, I wondered why you were so quiet, go home BIL!!!

Lizzylou, good luck for sunday, sure you will look great, all the other girls will be jealous of your boobs!

Swiper you are the 1st person to make a C-Section sound bearable! however I still don't want one if I can avoid it, I managed to be in and out of hospital last time in 12 hours, back in my own home in time for tea! and I aim to keep it that way this time too, fingers x'd!
Scan at 3.30ish this afternoon, so will let you all know....gibber, wonder how many are in there?

munz · 16/08/2005 11:05

lol@ friz - yes quite, managed to at least pay the bills and do some of the payroll - loads more to do thou b4 i'm caught up after last week, so am trying to restrict MN for a few days - must take it off bookmarks!

Jackstini · 16/08/2005 11:44

LL - I am sure you will look gorgeous - get that cleavage out! Hope you don't fall asleep in the speeches...

Friz - good luck for this afternoon - let us know how you get on (how many do you think are in there?!)

Munz - you had been quiet - was worried you were feeling too icky - glad it is just BIL in the way!

Lizzylou · 16/08/2005 11:59

My cleavage will be out, whether I like it or not....

munz · 16/08/2005 13:19

well really peed off now - some rude person had a home birth last night so my m/w didn't come out to see me - didn't even ring I had to call her apparently she's ment to call me this afternoon/tomorrow morning, how long after the m/w visit do u have the scan? am now getting really stressed about the scan after everything, It wasn't so bad when I though i'd get one next week, but now I probably won't even see her till next week - I know i'm being irrational about it all, but I mean god!!! URGGGHHHHHH! DH laughed and told me not to stress out - yeah right it's not him that had to suffer so much is it/him that felt like a failiur with the m/c's.

anyhow sorry rant over, I think i'll catch up properly now - sod it, don't care any more about work.

Lizzylou · 16/08/2005 13:20

MUnz, don't stress, here they scan you at 13 weeks, so mine isn't for 2 weeks.....can you ring your MW and try and get to see her sooner?? Explain why you want to and how desperate you are to have the scan.

munz · 16/08/2005 13:24

well I don't want to appear to be a er, what's the phrase - pain in the bum! but it's so annoying, I think i'll see if she rings me today if not i'll give her a call tomorrow. here they do u at 12 weeks and see u for booking in at 10 (but not b4) so by the time I see her i'll be 11, - calm down calm down. it's just frustrating more than anything that i'm not deemed as a high risk, also worried as well incase everything's not right at the scan.

Lizzylou · 16/08/2005 13:26

Please don't worry! I would chase her up, and explain that your concerned, it is her job after all! You're not a pain in the bum, just someone who needs some reassurance....go on, kick some ass!

majormoo · 16/08/2005 13:27

You aren't being irrational Munz; everyone wants to know when they are getting their scans. Especially after all you've been through.

I got the date through for my 12 week scan a couple of days after seeing the midwife if that sets your mind at ease at all.

munz · 16/08/2005 13:47

yeah thanks MM - I think when/if she rings i'll ask to see her this week then see if we can still scan for next week - I think DH will be suicidal with my if I don't get it by then! poor thing - and to think my hormones had settled back down again.

friz - how many beans are you hoping for then? lol, I can't wait for the BIL to go home either - u know he had the cheek to complain to MIL about DH, cos DH said to him don't eat cearals at 3am in the morning - have what ever else u want but not cearals as last week we were going thru 6 pints a day with 4 of us and it's only me that has a v small bowl of cearals normally, DH doesn't have any, and 6 pts lasts us a week, anyhow as BIL/SIL have been having two huge bowls a day (pirex bowl sized - small pirex bowl) DH said enough's enough we're going thru 2 loaves of bread a day and 6 pints of milk, stop having so much toast etc.. and he complained, a valid point I thought, esp as the cuppbords are full of tinned chilli and meat balls/soups and super noodles etc esp for him and SIL. URGHHH how'd have 17 year olds in the house!

LL - hope u have a nice time at the wedding - those girls may well be skinny but u'll be positivly glowing which they probably won't be as they'll all have a hang over! lol.

DHW/SF - quick question with C sections (not planning on one) but when I was 11 I had a op to remove an overy, I think the scar I have would be where they do the C section one (is it just above ur pelvic bone - below the tummy?) if it is a) would they use that scan again, as that one took 4 weeks to heal properly and b) would I be able to have a 'normal' delivery if that is the same scar place for the section as wouldn't want to cause stress on it, althou since it's healed never had any problems at all, and has knitted back together nicely, the scar's not not v visable.

RP - good luck for thursday, yep to the new thread, I vote friz after her scan today - what do u girls recon?

OF - hope you're doing OK.

any chance we oculd have an updated stats list as well/stats thread as i'm sure I miss ppl off every posting.

Jackstini · 16/08/2005 13:57

OOOOH Munz I would be frustrated too. Don't worry too much. Here they do booking in at 8 weeks but I can't have my scan til 14 weeks - really getting impatient for September 8th to come NOW! I did get my date about 5 days after booking in appointment - came straight from hospital with some booklets about their maternity unit etc.
Not sure if it is same as your scar issue but my friend had just had her second CS. The cut alongside the original scar line but then snipped off the scar tissue and gave her just one new scar. No idea if this is standard practise though.

I am working from home and feel like you too - just so difficult to feel bothered isn't it?

Think you should send you BIL & SIL to the supermarket - get them out your hair and make them realise how much 6 pints of milk a day costs! Is making me really want some cereal though....

munz · 16/08/2005 14:02

I knwo jac thats the problem isn't it! lol, I really fancied some on fri and had some but then we all had some, that's more or less what DH said to them go buy some if u want to drink that much and the responce was well we gave u £80.00 towards out stay so what about all the additional electric water gas washing powder etc.. not to mention food. all I ask is a thankyou not money but that really ticked me off.

munz · 16/08/2005 14:57

ok so now I feel a tit, M/W's just rang and said the apt was for tomorrow not today - URGHHHH!! someone shoot me now, god I feel so stupid making a fuss, will still see if I can get a scan next week thou.

Lizzylou · 16/08/2005 14:59

I am really forgetful at the mo too Munz

Should put your mind at ease anyway!!!

swiperfox · 16/08/2005 15:28

hiya Munz - bless about the midwife appt!! Still at least you haven't missed it

I got your message on the other thread about the disney pics - just give me a shout whenever and we can sort something out

Sounds like your scar might be a little higher than a cs scar... mine is right on the line where your hair starts so basically when it grows back you can't really see the scar. I think they used exactly the same line for the second one and it healed really well and just as quickly. Might be something to ask your midwife just out of curiosity!

munz · 16/08/2005 15:41

yeah (that's roghly where mine - well slightly above but not by much - think it would have been a bit higher when I was smaller)

my DH is gonna really rip the piss - can I claim PG brain?

desperatehousewife · 16/08/2005 17:20

deffo claim preggie jelly brain!

Jackstini · 16/08/2005 17:24

If it makes you feel any better Munz my DH called today to ask if the dog had been ok at the groomers - I had completely forgotton to pick him up and was 1 1/2 hours late!

desperatehousewife · 16/08/2005 17:30

we've just completed on selling our flat and I went into my bank to very happily pay in a large cheque, and slightly smugly said "It gives me great pleasure to pay this in...."
The cashier looked at me and said "You are in the wrong bank madam"

I was mortified!

Frizbe · 16/08/2005 17:48

All is well so far as we can see with my little bump, oh and its just the one! we're measuring right for dates, so 27th Feb it is! we have a heartbeat, two arms, two legs and fingers n toes! bubba even 'looked' at the scanner as it went over, as if so say, what are you bothering me with that for! and glad to say (not) that I'm still feeling sick in places...

Munz, Jackstini and DHW your all making me laugh lots!
