Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

Anchovies: Thanks for the update. I am glad that the consultant was willing to try the wait and see approach. Are there any risks to your health? Are they 100% certain that the baby is on the smaller side of your uterus? Can it move? I am so naive. Forgive me if I am asking stupid questions.
I could cry when I think that I likely have another four weeks of feeling sick and then I get to start worrying about having another missed m/c. ARGH! I am NOT doing well today with this sickness routine. Have to summon the courage to make another meal for us still. Blurgh!

anchovies · 01/08/2005 19:43

Hi cadmum

No it can't move I don't think, they said it was well attached but there is basically nothing to lose from trying (other than a m/c at any point) so I defo think this is the only way forward!

Know what you mean about making tea, I so can't face it! I've had a sandwich everyday for about a week, poor dh keeps saying soup is fine but I know he can't wait til I feel better! He tries to help but his cooking skills are pretty limited, spag bol and other pasta varieties are about it! Might have takeaway tonight!

anchoveies - really glad you got through today and that you are feeling a bit more positive. you say the next few weeks are crucial and a good indicator of how things will progress - do you have a time frame - ie: is it the next 2/5/8 weeks that are cruical. Will there be a time when you can feel much more confident and relaxed?

Lots and lots and lots of luck and chilled out positive vibes for you!
x

baggybear · 01/08/2005 20:15

Anchovies - good for you for having such a positive outlook on things. I'm in awe of you. if it were me I would be a wreck. Wishing you lots of luck and love xxxxx

toothyboy · 01/08/2005 20:21

Evening All!

First of all, Auntynon, so sorry to hear of your loss - I know I would want to be pregnant again asap as well. Take care of yourself, and if you feel able pop back and let us know how you're getting on.

Anchovies, glad you're feeling better - I agree with the "what will be will be" attitude - when there's nothing you can do to affect the outcome you just have to leave it to fate. My thoughts are with you.

I'm really pleased to be coming to the end of the (first) hard part! Sickiness practically gone now and really haven't been that tired this time around! Have only put on about 2 pounds so far - so just looking forward to tummy popping out and feeling those first movements! Oh and my scan on the 23rd.

Frizbe · 01/08/2005 20:26

Anchovies, that's good news re giving it a go, and good that the consultant wasn't totally negative either, go girl!

Cadmum, glad to see I'm not alone! we'll support each other through this! JuA on the Feb thread has been scanned today and is having twins, only symptom is loads more sickness than last time, so maybe we're having twins?!

Marne and DHW hope things are ok for you both at your scans {{Hugs}}

baggybear · 01/08/2005 20:26

You lucky, lucky lady, Toothyboy!! My sickness is just kicking in. Feel really ill tonight. Plus had horrific pain low on right side about an hour ago. Went mad with panic but it seems to have gone now. Do you think it could have been wind?? (You'd think I'd know 4th time around, but my mind seems to have erased all bad pregnancy memories from before!)

Cadmum · 02/08/2005 00:00

Tea time is thankfully over for another day and the dishes are being rinsed in the dishwasher... I did manage to eat some veggies and rice and they have stayed down--so far!

How could I possibly have forgotten how horrible I feel when pregnant? Did I really think that this was a clever plan? Especially with DH away for 11-12 days at a stretch and all family miles and miles away? I don't think anyone could call this plan clever...

Whinge over.... Sorry.

I sincerely hope that you are all feeling MUCH better than I am!

Lizzylou · 02/08/2005 08:32

Anchovies, I'm glad that the news was positive, you have a great attitude and I'm sure all will be OK.
Marne and DHW, hope you are resting up and looking forward to your scans.....
I have had such a bad night's sleep!!!
For the past 2 nights I have been tossing and turning all night, whilst during the day I could fall asleep standing up! Harry has been teething his back teeth and has had a couple of bad nights which hasn't helped and DH has a cold (man flu!!!)so it's not a happy house here at the moment!Still feeling nauseous all the time but no sore boobs yet! Really feel soo different to last time.

RosiePosie · 02/08/2005 09:18

Morning sickness is just vile. I've had it to the same degree with all of my pregnancies, constant nausea and wretching but little vomiting. Sometimes I think it would be a relief to be sick. Lasted 11 weeks with pg 1 and 18 weeks with pg 2. But, I keep telling myself, it's a GOOD sign of pregnancy. I'm going to be shouting from the roof tops when it ends this time though.

desperatehousewife · 02/08/2005 09:19

how grim - can't imagine it at all. poor things. Particularly when you have other kids to look after as well....you deserve bloody oscars for continuting as 'normal' under these circumstances!

baggybear · 02/08/2005 09:25

Oh, Rosieposie - you poor thing. I can sympathise though. Mind you, I don't feel too bad this morning. But last night I felt really rough. Turned 6 weeks today, so it can only get worse from now on

Can't be any worse than when I was expecting DS2 - DS1 was only 6 months old when I started with the morning sickness, and I had to take him up to the bathroom with me everytime I felt sick. Poor child!

desperatehousewife · 02/08/2005 09:44

oh my god, it's so primitive isn't it?! You'd think that we would have evolved enough now, to be able to be pregnant without feeling horrendous!

My sympathies to all you sicky girls. It will all be worth it in the end!

RosiePosie · 02/08/2005 12:16

It is horrible, but I wouldn't swap morning sickness for worries about bleeds and other complications. I look at my kids and think " it WAS worth it", even though at the time it doesn't feel like it.

I'm not really carrying on as normal DHW! My house is a pigsty and I spend most of the day lying on the sofa with Cbeebies on. My children are living on digestive biscuits and fromage frais. Poor dh tries to catch up with it all at the weekends. I'm 10 weeks today though, which is very reassuring.

Cadmum · 02/08/2005 12:39

RosiePosie: thank you for painting a portrait of what my life has in store two weeks from now... Good thing my children love TV, digestive biscuits and fromage frais, I suppose. May it all be over soon for you.

DHW: My life is not an Oscar-Award winning performance either. House is a tip and the children are having their basic needs met but precious little. We spent 2 hours in the park yesterday and I was horizontal on a bench for 1/2 of it...

Baggy-Bear DS was 16 months when I was sick with DD and his one word answer when anyone would ask where is mummy was: ge'ingsick!

Hello munz: Hope you are having a relaxing time and not feeling too poorly.

Frizbe: I think that I can eliminate the possiblily of twins this time. My last pregnancy was twin boys and I already had a belly by this stage and I kept falling asleep EVERYWHERE. (even at the table.) I have never felt exhaustion like it before or since. I will be happy with one little heart-beat next Tuesday (though I would be delighted to have twins, just don't think it is likely.)

Anchovies: Sorry to hear that bubs can't move... What a stressful time for you. I agree that there is only forward from here and I admire your courage.

Lizzielou: Teething and man-flu?!?! What next. Poor you.. I hope you mange to get a better sleep tonight.

Toothy: good luck with the scan on the 23rd. It is always great to see the baby and know for sure what is going on inside... Wish I could have a window installed...

mumtosomeone · 02/08/2005 17:00

how soon did you book in..anyone?

toothyboy · 02/08/2005 17:09

Am due to book in next Thursday (11th) and will be 11+1. Saw the Dr at about 7 weeks, and was told to make my first appt with mw between 10 - 12 weeks!

RosiePosie · 02/08/2005 17:29

I booked in last Sunday at 9 weeks 5 days. I was going to leave it later, but wanted to get in time for my 12 week scan, which I've never had before.

anchovies · 02/08/2005 18:09

I had to do booking bloods and first midwife appt at 8 weeks. GP sent off scan forms at 6 weeks and told me when to do everything.

OP posts:
mumtosomeone · 02/08/2005 18:39

we now go to the midwife first!
It just seems so early!!!

baggybear · 02/08/2005 18:58

Where I am, the procedure changes each time I have a baby! This time I have chosen my midwife who (hopefully) will deliver baby too. She delivered my first 2 so has become a very close friend. She is popping round on Thursday to give me my notes to fill out, to ask me the usual questions eg, are you taking folic acid? etc., and to give me a 12 week scan date. Then i won't see her again til 12weeks when she will do my booking in.

I'm very lucky where I live as we have an excellent community midwife team who will, if possible go to hospital with us too. We also have a very good local midwife run Family Birthing Unit, too.

Cadmum · 02/08/2005 19:06

sounds great baggybear! I am envious...

Guess the worrying is starting early for me this time.... I just took a shower and was really surprised that my nipples didn't hurt as much as they have been. Has this happened to anybody else? I still feel really sick but that is all really.

anchovies · 02/08/2005 19:08

Funny you should say that cadmum, I've still got sore nipples but haven't felt sick today (well I have but it's all relative!) I'll be so sorry tomorrow that I spent today worrying rather than enjoying myself!

OP posts:
baggybear · 02/08/2005 19:10

How many weeks are you, Cadmum. You need to remind me - you know what happens to our brains when we get prgnt!!!

My boobs haven't hurt at all this time (yet!!) and my sickness is no where near as bad as it was at this stage with my others. I think all pregnacies are just different. But the tiredness is just as bad and I'm just as forgetful....

...what was I saying...errr...

Cadmum · 02/08/2005 19:26

Thanks anchovies and baggybear: At least I don't feel alone in this silly game of analysing every little twinge or lack thereof!

I am 8 weeks 4days (or so...)

I have never had a first trimester miscarriage so I am not sure that all of the things I watch for and worry about even apply at this stage... Oh dread! Thank goodness I have a scan in a week at least I will know one way or the other...
