Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

oh forgot to add i'm 8+3 today - 9 weeks seems so long away! also been having some tuggin sorts of pains which come and go over this w/e so far, no bleeding or discharge but a bit og tuggin and pain in the lower pelvic/apendix scar area any ideas? hopeing it's nothing serious.

desperatehousewife · 01/08/2005 09:40

probably things just starting to stretch a little. I wouldn't worry.

munz · 01/08/2005 09:42

I figured as much thought it would just be things moving and growing. still a bit worried thou so am taking things easy esp as symptoms have really dried up again, can't wait for this blinking scan.

how r u today dhw?

StarryEyed · 01/08/2005 09:44

Munz

I get twinges as well especially when I am really tired like yesterday. Took DD to the zoo and did a lot of walking around. Came back shattered with the twinges but it normally goes away after a night's sleep. If it is persistent and painful then I think it is worth investigating but the odd twinge I think is normal. I am 9 weeks on Wed. Can't wait for my first scan which is on 23 Aug - ages to wait

desperatehousewife · 01/08/2005 09:45

I know what you mean about that first scan. It's unbearable isn't it.

I've called my doc and am waiting for him to call me back. I need him to refer me to early pregnancy unit for early scan. I really hope he does this, as I am worring SO much about this. It's affecting my mood constantly, I'm lying awake at night thinking about it - not good at all! Feel in permenant state of butterfly tummy!

Grrrrr.......

munz · 01/08/2005 09:52

thanks girls will have to keep an eye on it me thinks, SE - I think my scan will be around the same time first M/W apt is on the 17th when i'll be 10.5 weeks so hopefully i'll be able to have the scan within the week after. (hopefully cant wait to see hte heart beat thta's all i'm bothered about seein the heart beating.)

dhw - good luck getting ur scan, hopefully u won't have to wait for it for too long.

SE - how r u today?

auntynon · 01/08/2005 10:18

hello girls, hope everyone is well. I have some sad news, I miscarried yesterday. After quite a bit of spotting and tummy ache gp sent me for an early scan on friday. Everything seemed fine, we could even see a heartbeat and were very hopeful. Last night the pains worsened and I lost the pregnancy. I'm so so sad, feel ok physically but a mess emotionally. dd is 2 next month and this had been my 2nd pregnancy. It feels like the only thing that will help me to feel better is to be pregnant again. How soon after a m/c can you plan to get pregnant again?

StarryEyed · 01/08/2005 10:20

I'm OK. Still feeling a little sick but not very bad. Bit worried about how much I'm showing. Not sure whether I can keep it under wraps so to speak until 23 Aug. It is three weeks away!! Would like to know that things are fine so an early scan would be great but I know that won't be possible. They don't offer it where I am. So I have to be patient. I do wonder about the twinges though. I mentioned it to my doctor and she said as long as they are not painful and persistent and there is no bleeding it is normal because the womb is growing. Can you imagine the days when they didn't have scans. Must have felt like a wait for forever.

StarryEyed · 01/08/2005 10:21

So sorry to hear your news Auntynon . I think with a m/c it is important to give your body time to recover - a couple of months at least.

auntynon · 01/08/2005 10:24

Thanks starry, I'm expecting a call from my gp later, will ask his advice about next pregnancy, you're probably right though to wait a couple of months.

baggybear · 01/08/2005 10:35

Auntynon - Im so sorry. I don't really know what to say, but i'm thinking of you. Good luck with GP. {{hugs}} xx

Rosieposie - I'm really sorry, I forgot to answer your question, didn't i! I found 3 easier than 2, or 1 for that matter. When I had my first I found myself still in my PJs at noon and struggling to get things done. But with 3 you have to have a routine - i would be washed dressed and sorted very early so i could get the kids organised. DS3 was born in mid-july and DS1 started school in the following Sept so I had to make sure i was with-it!! You will cope fine. I think you just have to go with the flow.

desperatehousewife · 01/08/2005 10:40

Auntynon - so sorry about your news. You must be feeling terrible. please take care and take it easy for a bit and talk to people - friends and GP. Wishing you all the luck in the world for the next time round.
xx

Lizzylou · 01/08/2005 11:04

Best of luck for today, Anchovies, hope all goes well xxx

RosiePosie · 01/08/2005 11:09

I'm really sorry Auntynon. I can understand your desire to get pregnant again quickly - I think I would be the same. Be gentle on yourself and good luck for the future. xx

poppyh · 01/08/2005 11:43

Auntynon,
Im so sorry about what happened.
The same thing happened to me in May.I can understand how you must be feeling.Give your body a month or so to recover and then try again.
I got pregnant very quickly after, maybe you will too.
Take care hun.

Frizbe · 01/08/2005 13:01

auntynon, {{{Big Hugs}}} very sorry to hear your news wishing you all the best for the future

Hi to the rest of you, nice to see the thread busy! don't worry Munz 9 weeks will come soon enough

Well I felt really pants last night and this morning, can't make up mind if it's just bubba, or a bit of a bug, although no real symptoms bar feeling very sick....so guessing bubba, didn't move off the sofa all evening, dh had to put dd to bed, as I couldn't even manage that and bless him, he got her up am, and took her to nursery before work....I meanwhile didn't surface until 10am and still feel really ick.....hoping this goes away soon.....

Cadmum · 01/08/2005 14:32

auntynon: Sorry to read of your loss. Take time to heal before venturing down the TTC road again.

Anchovies: Worried about you but hoping for good news.

Frizbe: I was convinced that I must have a bit of a bug yesterday as well. I was nearly in tears getting my little people off to bed and then I am sure that I was asleep before they were. I then went on to have horrible dreams about waking in a pool of blood. Not a very pleasant night so now I am really tired and still feeling green... Blurgh!

Glad to see that you are a chatty bunch this morning. I will try to catch up later.

mumtosomeone · 01/08/2005 14:55

so sorry auntynon. Hope you are getting lots of hugs and support and your hubby too!

I havent even booked in yet and you are all having scans etc!!

I really dont feel prggie!!! So busy with others at home not had time to think about it!!

marne · 01/08/2005 15:03

Sory for your loss auntynon, we are all thinking of you.

I went back to work today after a bad week of morning sickness and 2 bleeds, saw the midwife for the first time friday, im due on the 15th. I have got a scan on thursday to check baby is ok after the bleeds. Hope you are all well, hope you dont all feel as rough as me, cant wait to feel healthy again!

desperatehousewife · 01/08/2005 15:25

oh marne - poor you.

I managed to get myself an early scan for weds morning. Am so relieved. Just want to know if all ok or not.

Just fell asleep in bed for 2 hours. Am absolutely shattered. (DS is at nursery by the way - i didn't just abadon him!)

marne · 01/08/2005 15:28

good luck for wed hope all is ok.

Cadmum · 01/08/2005 15:56

DHW: Glad you were given a scan for Wednesday and even more impressed that you took a nap. looks like I will need one before the end of the day myself. Feeling mighty low...

Marne: sorry that you are feeling so rotten. Bleeds must be worrying... Hoping your scan goes well. When are you due? Did you bleed at all in your 1st pregnancy?

Mumtosomeone: I am full of ! On top of feeling sick all of the time I am filled with guilt over ignoring my children. I am so glad that DH will be home for three days this week-end so that they have someone who can remain vertical to play with them...

I had such a terrible week-end that I actually started my own thread for advice under chat. Thankfully the responses made me laugh. I am useless at links but it was called Opinions wanted about 'friend'ly advice...

baggybear · 01/08/2005 16:02

DHW - glad you've got a scan date. Hope everything goes okay. Will be in my thoughts on Wed morning.

desperatehousewife · 01/08/2005 17:17

thanks everyone for your support. Can't believe that I didn't know about Mumsnet 4 years ago when I was preg with DS - would have been such a life saver I think. I really feel like I'm not going through this preg on my own - thanks everyone for being there.

anchovies · 01/08/2005 19:30

So sorry to hear your news auntynon, take care of yourself and take things very easy.

Glad you got scans booked marne and dhw, bet you are both looking forward to the reassurance they will bring you.

Congratulations mumtosomeone, I too am very jealous of you feeling ok!

Saw the consultant today, she didn't say much, especially once I said that there's no way I'm not going to give this pregnancy a good go. She just said only time would tell. She did say that the next few weeks are pretty crucial and getting through them should give a good indication of whether things would work out. Have taken quite a matter of fact "what will be will be" attitude now. I got the feeling she was suprised I'd got this far so that can only be a good thing. Am just going to get on with things now, have allowed myself a full day of wallowing in self pity but thats it now - all positive thoughts from me from now on!

Hope everyone is well, I've not been sick today which has been fab! Feel pretty bad now though! It can't be that long before we all get through this bad bit can it!
