Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

Frizbe · 26/07/2005 22:46

Munz, the Thai was lovely! had minced pork on toast with assorted herbs, Red chicken curry, and Thai Custard for pud (coconut custard thing with cream! yummy!)

Hi to baggybear!

Oh and Munz, eggs are fine, so long as the yolk isn't runny, ie its rock hard, so yes you can fry eggs ok! just make sure they're thoroughly fried!

Catj hugs re the sickness, I know where your coming from, but at least its starting to get better here.....

and I must second Munz on the ginger ALE!! not the beer, which is Yuk, ALE, ALE, ALE!!

munz · 27/07/2005 07:49

ex - yes mine did last week had next to no signs and I must confess to testing again just to make sure! - thankfully was still pos! symtpoms gradually came back thou.

friz - thats' a shame I love a good runny/soft boiled egg oh well only 7 more months to go! lol, (not keep on them fried till hard, althou if I must I must! glad you enjoyed ur meal.

with the ginger ale i've started to pour a glass as a matter of course every day at work so far so good as well no major sickness feeling (touch wood!) moods seem to be camling down as well to a degree which I think DH will appriciate!

RosiePosie · 27/07/2005 08:19

I just typed out a marathon reply and my connection went and I lost it . Will try again later.

Lizzylou · 27/07/2005 08:36

HI all

Very jealous about your meals out!!! Think we're off out for a Thai this weekend.......
Jackstini, yes the midwife was lovely, which I was worried about as we have moved area but I can still have the same hospital as with DS, so thats good!
Feeling so very different to last time, much more feisty and confident, last time I was a quivering wreck of indecision and tearfulness! Also, having feelings of nausea still...my MOm now thinks I'm having a girl as she was feisty and sick with me! I'm really not bothered to be honest, Harry is so wonderful that another boy would be great too!
I'm going to get some ginger ale....have become addicted to Innocent Strawberry and Banana smoothies which is odd as I hate bananas normally!!!
Hope everyone has a good day!

desperatehousewife · 27/07/2005 09:13

i thought it was the whites of eggs that had to be hard and not jelly-ish. ?

munz · 27/07/2005 09:22

think i'll have to do a quick search on the internet to find out - prob best to avoid them thou?

baggybear · 27/07/2005 09:24

Morning everyone!

Hope your all okay this morning. I've woken up feeling 'orrible, but i think it is more the prospect of taking my DS2 bowling this afternoon with 5 of his friends for his birthday! Oh, why, oh, why did I think it was a good idea at the time!!

baggybear · 27/07/2005 09:33

Can I ask you all a question?

Althought this is number 4 for me, I can't remember getting cramping pains like i am this time. I'm 5 weeks and since sunday i've been getting really strong pulling and cramping feelings. Anyone else been getting them?

All other symptom seem to have gone though, so Expressmummy and Munz, i am with you.

marne · 27/07/2005 10:07

Hi,
I am 6 weeks, i had theese pains last week, they wer'nt realy painfull just uncomfortable, if you are woried i would see your gp. I saw a doctor as i had a bleed as well as the pain, if you are woried they can get you a early scan.

Lizzylou · 27/07/2005 10:13

BB, I've been getting all sorts of pains in my stomach, but I seem to remember I did with DS, they aren't unbearable, just twinges.
I'd get it checked out if you are concerned, but prob just down to so much going on in there at the moment!!
Enjoy the bowling!

baggybear · 27/07/2005 10:30

Thanks for reassurance. Have got a midwife friend so might give her a ring later. I think its okay, i'm just in that stage when you're paramoid bout every little twinge or pain. Hormones and all that!!

desperatehousewife · 27/07/2005 11:05

definatley be careful bowling! The balls are heavy

baggybear · 27/07/2005 12:19

Desperatehousewife - don't worry, I have no intention of going anywhere near a bowling ball! the last time i did, i made myself look a right plum!! Leave that to the kids!! (taking a friend anyway to do all the lifting). More worried about what six 5 year olds could do to me!!!!!!!

RosiePosie · 27/07/2005 15:00

Okay, second attempt at this post, as it crashed earlier. I can't remember who I've welcomed, so hello to all the new people!

Frizbe, my mouth was watering when you were talking about your thai meal - would you believe, it's just about the ONLY thing I fancy at the moment.

Munz, the homebirth was great - well as good as childbirth gets I imagine! I had a hospital birth the first time and vowed never to set foot there again. MW didn't bring enough G&A and I ran out which was pretty horrible, but it was lovely being at home. My dh was very unsure, but is a total convert now! Perhaps if your dh spoke to someone whose done it, or a good homebirth midwife, he might change his mind? If I knew what I know now and it was my first baby again, I would certainly plan the HB and then see how it goes, because you can always change your mind and go into hospital anyway. But, each to their own.

The initial bloods are to get blood group, rhesus status and to test for HIV, hepatitis and syphilis. The details of which are all on my previous notes - that's why I'm saying no thanks this time ( and I HATE having bloods done ). The only thing they would gain from it would be my blood count, and as I've never had a problem with anaemia before, I'm not worried.

Why did my early pg have to coincide with the summer hols?? We're watching Dumbo for the second time today. . .

desperatehousewife · 27/07/2005 17:21

I was supposed to have a home birth with DS, but got pre-eclampsia at 37 weeks and ended up in hospital. My biggest fear (which I don't think I ever really overcame) was the noise I would make if I had him at home. We lived in a flat with not brilliant sound proofing!

Was terrified I'd be mooing like a cow and unable to restrain my primal noises - bit unfair on my neighbours!!

Even got to the stage of buying plastic dust sheets from B&Q!!!!!

RosiePosie · 27/07/2005 17:30

I must admit, I did make a LOT of noise at the pushing stage, much more than I thought I would ( I'd had an epidural the first time, so was calm and serene )It was okay though, because we lived in a new build and it was the middle of the night in the middle of a building site, so no one to hear us. Very different now, houses all around, and I am a little concerned about it, but . . .what the hell! Definately going to make sure the MW comes well stocked up with G&A this time though!

Ooof, I have heart burn now, anyone else?

toothyboy · 27/07/2005 17:48

Hi everyone! This is moving fast - it's only been a couple of days since I looked on here and I've lost track already!!

Hope everyone is OK - I've hit 9 weeks today and finally I hardly feel sick anymore YAY!! Just when I get hungry, I feel a bit icky, but that's OK - jsut means I have to keep eating! But still no cravings - when would they normally kick in?

Frizbe · 27/07/2005 19:35

Sorry DHW and Munz, but it def says in my midwife notes, no dippy eggs, sob, sob, sob as I tooo love them! ho hum.....

Sorry to make all your mouths water with the nice Thai food! still at least some of you are going out this weekend right!

Hope all are ok, gona dash, as a few mates just dropped round!

toothyboy · 27/07/2005 21:46

I just had a runny yolked fried egg with my gammon for tea! Yum. Tee Hee!

baggybear · 27/07/2005 22:09

Well, I went bowling with DS2 and his "cute" little friends!!! Actually they were pretty well behaved and my friend did all the heavy lifting for me (bonus!). Now thats out the way, I can relax for a couple of days until we go off camping for the weekend.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying their naughty runny eggs

catj · 27/07/2005 22:23
