Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

Thank you

Hi Munz, I don't think diabeties & gestational diabeties are related, I think the latter is when you have glucose in your wee ?

Hope the ginger beer helps, but I would be wary of anything with artifical sweetners, probably better with ginger biscuits/ginger tea etc

Well I'm not feeling sick but I'm in a TERRIBLE mood. It does feel like PMT. Actually, now I've confessed I don't feel so bad

I think I am 5 1/2 weeks - do I need to make any appointments etc ?

auntynon · 22/07/2005 09:56

Hello, another one for the March club. I,m due 14th March, so I,m about 6 1/2 weeks, haven,t been to docs yet, have an appt on wed. Have dd, 2 next month. Me and dh very excited, was planned but happened very quickly, first cycle we tried. Not counting on anything yet though, it's very early and my tummy has been a bit achey. Don't feel sicky yet that kicked in at 7/8 weeks last time.

Frizbe · 22/07/2005 09:56

Hmm, not sure that ginger beer is the same thing munz, but give it a go, posted somewhere else on here on a sickness thread, as someone tried the beer and said it was revolting! so I reminded them I'd said Ale not beer!!! Dh needs to go to the mixers section, loads of ginger ale next to Tonic Water n Bitter Lemon!!

Re the diabeties thing, I didn't get a test for it last time and it's been a grandparents thing on both sides of our family, but this time they're going to test me for it!! durr? change in health policy apparently! (same for scans, 1 last time, 2 x this time!)

Hi Mojo, welcome, do you want to add your stats to the thread?

marne · 22/07/2005 10:00

Hi all, feeling realy sick this morning, need to go shoping but dont think i can face it, just forced down a piece of toast with the hope it will make me feel a bit beter, never had this last time when pg with dd, i hope its a sign its a boy. Anyway im sure its all worth it.

munz · 22/07/2005 10:38

I think i'll get mum to test me when I see her to keep a track of my sugers that way.

DH'seh friz! lol, that's what I told him this morning. the ginger beers a suger free one with no additives (sp) will buy the ale tonight thou as this one's only helping for about 5 mins at a time and it's not really that nice!

Jackstini · 22/07/2005 13:04

Morning all & hello to our new joiners. Well back from my conference and no-one at work guessed! I did attend the big dinner do and managed to hold the same glass of wine all night, not drink any and leave it full on the table without anyone noticing! Lovely flight there as I got upgraded but felt very squashed on way back (11 hours - poor beanie) I have also lost weight but gone up a size in clothes(?!) Still not craving anything but have gone right off chips - don't even like the smell anymore. My parents are still in complete chock about the whole thing - don't know why - noone else was surprised. Think they are still coming to terms with the fact they will be grandparents for the first time. Anyone else in this situation?

Mojomummy · 22/07/2005 13:30

Hello, where do I add stats & what do I say ?

2nd pregancy & not really feeling hungry at all, should I be ? I know it's not necessary to eat more until 2nd/3rd trimester, but concerned not ok to eat slightly less ?

So far have had a latte & cream cheese sandwich + glass of juice. Won't eat again until tea time.

Thought I'd get ahead of myself ref maternity clothes, so checked out H&M sales. Looked like a complete rag bag & so saved some money I'm sure last pregnancy clothes will be fine though..

anchovies · 22/07/2005 14:46

Hi everyone

Still feeling and being very sick. Like rosieposie only thing that helps is constant eating. Am now being sick in the night which is seriously rubbish! Anyway not going to moan too much cos I'm being very well looked after by dh and ds has learnt to give kisses which is helping! Just had macdonalds for lunch, first bit was hard work but battled through and actually feel a bit better now. Have got serious salt cravings which is worrying!

Back to bed now, ds had his mmr last week and has got a temperature and was up all last night so am really tired today. Luckily dh is ironing and ordering me upstairs for a bath and bed, yippee!

Mojomummy - Hi! I think its normal to be off food, I am really having trouble finding something I fancy to eat. I will no doubt make up for it later though!

RosiePosie · 22/07/2005 15:29

Hi new people - I promise I will add your stats in the next few days, just post your age, due date and whether it's your first, second, third etc and I'll add it to the list.

anchovies, poor you! Thankfully I am not actually being sick, just feeling nauseous 24 hours a day. I'm not exactly craving, but certainly happier eating stodge like chips, sausage rolls and cornish pasties. Orange lucozade is helping too, BOGOF on packs of six at Sainsbury's at the mo! I will make up for when I feel better by eating very healthily, I promise! Sadly, my DH is not as sympathetic at yours, he seems to think that having done it twice before I should be able to breeze through it by now!

Cadmum · 22/07/2005 16:56

Rosieposie: I know what you mean about DH thinking that you should be an expert by now... I certanily wish that I could breeze through the next 5 or so weeks at least. Why do I always forget about this really dreadful part?!?!?

Cadmum · 22/07/2005 16:58

Meant to add that I should have my head examined because this is my 7th time and I am still feeling sorry for myself...

Frizbe · 22/07/2005 22:01

Hello auntienon.

Jackstini where was your conference, was it exotic!

Munz, has he gotten it right yet?!

Cadmum, we're all officially barking anyway, so don't worry about it

Anchovies, poor hon {{{Big Hugs}}} being sick at night is not good.....

munz · 22/07/2005 22:02

friz - no he's away at the minute - althou christoper eccleston's just got it all right in dr who! is it me or are these hormone turning me into a raging nympo! - anyone else having that problem?

(will catch up properly again tomorrow)

Frizbe · 22/07/2005 22:09

Lol Munz

munz · 22/07/2005 22:11

I tell u it's plain embaressing now! I have a mega thing for CE!

desperatehousewife · 23/07/2005 12:50

sorry girls, this is a bit grim, but I noticed last night a tiny bit of coloured discharge - very very pale brown - only a tiny bit, but everytime I went for a wee. Don't remember having this when preg before with DS. Should I be a bit concerned? No other symptoms.

Cadmum · 23/07/2005 14:14

DHW: I think that brown generally means dried blood. Have you done anything that might have iritated your cervix (including bd)? With increased blood flow to the area sometimes a little spotting happens...
I am hoping that everyone else pours on here shortly with more helpful advice. Are you still experiencing it today? Still no cramping or anything? Try to have a relaxing day without over-doing it.

desperatehousewife · 23/07/2005 14:32

definately no db!! Did some hard core hoovering yesterday and a bit of carrying bags, otherwise, can't think of anything.

Frizbe · 23/07/2005 15:15

wouldn't worry too much, says in my notes, not to worry about brown unless it gets to be a lot! if its red however, see the midwife/hospital asap.

toothyboy · 23/07/2005 15:28

Dh - I had that a couple of weeks ago. It lasted a few days, then stopped completely and I haven't had any since. I worried a little bit at first, but as it went on and nothing else seemed to be happening I just ignored it.

If you're the worrying sort phone up the mw on Monday just to put your mind at rest. If you're not, have another MacDonalds and put it to the back of your mind! Why do these things always happen at the weekend when nobody's around to check it out with?!

I had my appt for my 1st scan through today - it's on August 23rd. My booking in appt is on 11th August. I still can't quite believe this is all happening! And I've still managed to keep my mouth shut and not tell anyone!

desperatehousewife · 23/07/2005 15:46

thanks girls - you've made me feel a LOT better! Will keep an eye, but shan't worry too much.

Speak soon - really appreciate you all being here to run things like this past!

x

munz · 23/07/2005 15:56

afternoon girls,

well had my call today from the m/w was slightly qworried she didn't call me this week just gone, but she has now which is the main thing, got my first apt on the 17th august at 12pm (so prob need one of u girls to remind me!lol) have to go in the week b4 to the dr's and pick up my bok and fill out the forms i'll be 10 weeks by then and she says in the experience down here if they see ladies b4 then the worst tends to happen so basically they dont - OK then!, any probs thou she's given me her mobile number to ring her, says everything i'm feeling etc right now is completely normal so not to worry hopefully my scan should be about 10 days after that.

jack - yes it's the same with both our parents being 1st time grandparents, they've gone from v shocked to elated to now being ok then the long wait! lol. my mum's more a part of it as we talk every day and she's my info source unless it's been mentioned on here! lol. glad ur dinner went OK,- how did u manage one glass of wine without drinnking it if I might ask?

anchovies - sorry u're feeling sick hon. hopefully it will pass soon. ((hugs))) anychance you could send ur DH round here to sort mine out? he thinks the ironing is done after his work clothes have been ironed - men! althou he's been good if I need sleep he's tidyed up for me.

DHW - brown's old blood isn't it? red's fresh so as long as it's not red it's probably ok, but rest up anyways today.

cadmum - how r u?

hope everyone else is OK.

Cadmum · 23/07/2005 20:00

DHW: HARD core hoovering?!? Hmmm... Never heard the term but it does conjure up some images... (Must be the hormones, sorry!) Hope it all a fading memory and that you are feeling 100%.

Munz, I am well, thanks! There is no chance that I will be able to remind you of your appt. I am having a hard time ever remembering what day of the week it is at any given moment. How am I supposed to take care of three busy children let alone myself in this state? Wish I could be more helpful... How are you feeling, today? I need a puke emoticon to describe my state of being at this stage.

Auntienon: Welcome! Enjoy the insanity. How are you feeling? Enjoy the early days before you get swept up into the sickness if you can!

Hello Frizbe: Are you two-timing us by posting on the February thread? I am going to check and see if you are more talkative there and then I will be in a right snit about it!

Where is everybody?! Guess you all have LIVES at the week-end or something...

munz · 23/07/2005 20:12

sorry AN i missed off ur welcome - 14th march an excellent time of the month - althou 13th is much better as it's my b'day!

cadmum - feeling not too bad althou sickiness is coming and going, did a lot of garedning today mowing the lawn etc and cleaning of the car so the house got rather neglected - again! lol. in fact might well go have a lie on the sofa for a bit.

hormones - it's not just me then with the er... randyness hormones? I swear i'm turning into a ragin nympo it's just a shame DH isn't here so I have to make to with thinking about it! lol. i'm assumin it is safe for BD during the 1st trimester? (althou I am a bit reluctant - or was until recently!) lol.
