Piggiesmum we havea gigantic blow up pool... come and join in

Paddysmum lol paddysmum and piggiesmum...sweet.. I don't tend to see actual feet/hands except when she was breech and wouldn't move at about 20/21 weeks her feet were definately sticking out.. I think it depends very much on the position, they're moving too much for us to see anyting clearly!

BigBumpBonnie · 11/07/2005 17:39

hi everyone. Had a good weekend, went to watch the red arrows on the beach yesterday which was good (apart from dd deciding to eat a mouthful of sand) and actually paid a visit to mothercare today and spent lots of money on bump. Got a real bargain with a travel system (graco mirage) for £140. Its comes with absolutely everything and is really lightweight and practical. Some of the expensive ones looked like monster trucks and would no way have fitted in my boot. Maybe not the trendiest one around but we're pleased with it! Only thing is I'm dying to get it out of the box and assembled but dh thinks it's more practical to leave it boxed for a while as it takes up less space, oh well, roll on october. Also got loads of other stuff that we probably don't need but some of it's just too cute

JM, I've been getting tremendous BH contractions lately and yesterday they were hurting. I was worried that it was the start of something as well. They can be really strong and mine were accompanied by some mild cramping. I'm sure it's perfectly normal and my little one is kicking around happily today and they have subsided a bit. Any time you're really worried though it doesn't hurt to call the hospital. I was close to doing that myself.

fastasleep, sorry about the stressful time with your mother. sounds a nightmare in this heat.

hester, i might try that with the tapping belly. sounds fascinating! It's really starting to sink in now that it's really a baby in there and I really can't wait to meet her!

Joseyjo · 11/07/2005 19:55

my ds1 and this bump seem to like my games of "kick-poke" as we call it. i haven't tried poking it somewhere else though, i just poke it wherever it just kicked me.
back to the hospital on friday which i am really looking forward to. bubba has moved position again and now i can't decide whether i am just being paranoid or whether there is actually a change in movements. why can't men have the carrying bit - they seem to be far more pragmatic (in general) whereas i seem to get in a total state of the tiniest things. sigh...

i went to a different office from normal today and walked in to a shocked silence! they were pretty much all men (who clearly don't get out much) and they all just gaped at my bump/boobs. i was wearing a dress but it was entirely decent (no pg porn star antics you will be glad to hear ). oh well, if i am huge then bubba must be growing so i shouldn't complain.

re the sensible car options... we have a 2+2 as well, although the +2 is a joke and is really only for 3-7 year olds and even they complain!! there is absolutely no way that a rear facing car seat will fit. now we have 10 weeks (oh my god it is only 10 weeks..... ) to find the money and then the car so that they will let us out of the hospital to drive home. what fun!!

right best go and do something constructive - oh no need - nearly time for enders.

btw fastasleep am also intrigued by the satanist/slut combination - would love to know how you manage to be do both at once!!!!

fastasleep · 11/07/2005 20:01

Hmm well... generally I'd say by dancing naked around a fire infront of lots of satanistic men whilst chanting...

I think that happened once, in mum's head.. can't be sure though!

Good luck with the car 10 weeks is ages!

fastasleep · 11/07/2005 20:04

Really I earned the name by once going to a wicca website and then on the same night (shock horror) I leaned out of my attic bedroom window (after drinking cider which she never found teehee) and whistled yes, whistled at a passing man... I was 14, she's never let go of it... they're really rather strange the pair of them

Joseyjo · 11/07/2005 20:12

you are SO naughty!!!!
i can't believe that people like you are even allowed to post on a respectable website like this .

fastasleep · 11/07/2005 22:14

Sadly, I did much worse! And I still feel guilty...aaaaaaargh! Had a stinker of an evening which involved watching Theo trash the front room while I sat in tears with a really disturbing little voice in my head reminding me of every crap thing to do with me...does anyone else have this sometimes? Am I going insane this pregnancy? Poo.

hester · 11/07/2005 22:52

Oh fastasleep, you poor thing. You've got pregnancy hormones, an active little nipper, the summer heat, and your mother to top it all off. No wonder you're feeling a bit stretched.

Have you been having these feelings a lot this pregnancy? If so, maybe you've got a bit depressed?

If not, you need CHOCOLATE. I recommend hot chocolate with a Flake stirred into it, with some plain chocolate hobnobs on the side

fastasleep · 12/07/2005 09:38

Waaaaaah I'm hoping this is a major chocolate incident... it's happened about 3 times so nothing too scary... (I refuse to go insane!)

DH decided last night that the house was a tip and he went 'on strike' without telling me, he let me go for a nap then 10 minutes later went for one himself leaving Theo screaming downstairs... so I woke up all confused to find DH asleep on the sofa bed, and Theo surrounded by wipes and nappy sacks - DH let him pull them out of his change bag... men are so helpful when you think you might be going barmy... The house looks awful, so I guess I'll be cleaning all day! At least Theo fell asleep on me till just now this morning (bliss!)

I'll try chocolate and my weird craving for muller rice and then get back to you with a smiley face (well probably slightly grumpy from cleaning, but still) sorry to sit here moaning

Elf1981 · 12/07/2005 09:58

Fastasleep - sorry you're having a bad time at the moment, hope you feel better soon.
Am being really bad this morning. Supposed to be dressed and ready to pick my gran up, but I'm still in my dressing gown posting on mumsnet... what's wrong with me?!!

fastasleep · 12/07/2005 10:00

I haven't done Theo's breakfast yet! Bit worse than leaving gran waiting, at least she can feed herself.. (well I assume so anyway!) just blame hormones!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/07/2005 10:01

successful day so far.... other than dh waking me at 7.30 and said, ur supposed to be taking me to work in 10 minutes!!!

have put petrol in car
have been to housing place to find it didnt open until 8.30 - could have sworn it was 8am!!! Oh well another trip later
been to asda and done the shopping!!

Jess now napping - hoorah and im sitting here eating jelly tots of all things for breakfast!

Jockey · 12/07/2005 10:08

I hope you have a better day fastasleep. I must admit I've had a couple of episodes like this. In my case I think it is related to simply feeling knackered! It is most certainly tiring being pregnant in this heat & trying to cope with a toddler who is into everything. Toddlers should have on/off switches.

Had a strange night last night as I just couldn't settle & kept thrashing my legs around like a maniac. Had to get DH to massage them at midnight. Am going to do a search on mumsnet but have never had anything like this before. Perhaps I need support stockings!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/07/2005 10:09

jockey - agree with the toddler on/off switch - mine is off at the moment but onyl coz she's asleep..... dreading her waking up tbh, all i wanna do is sit and chill out for the day!

I told dh last night that as soon as he is off crutches, im going to dads for a weekend without either of them to relax!

fastasleep · 12/07/2005 10:36

Sounds like 'restless leg syndrome' a few people around MN have had that while pregnant... I don't know anything about it but heard it mentioned on a thread about leg cramps... you could try a thread in 'Pregnancy' I bet you'd get some replies!

Anyway I'm off to try and find that 'off' switch and do the washing up.. Hmm if Theo had an off switch right now he'd only be on for about an hour a day!

I'm sure I'll feel better later, thanks girls .. Just having one of those days, Theo headbutted me in the eye socket and I look like a battered wife too !

Jockey · 12/07/2005 11:25

Thank goodness for MN - there's already a thread going on leg pains etc. Apparently eating crisps helps with cramps too - YES!! - love 'em.

fastasleep · 12/07/2005 11:53

Lol I love MN advice 'eat crisps, cake and chocolate..NOW!' I got half way through the washing up and I had to sit down all covered in sweat and panting... never mind the hoovering, scrubbing kitchen floor, general picking up of wipes and nappy sacks, toilet cleaning, baby bathing, masses of ironing, sheet changing, 3 loads of washing.... oh god no wonder I'm depressed this week.

Where is everyone when I need tempting away from this bombsite with the thought of hot chodolate and cakes and shopping...?!

fastasleep · 12/07/2005 11:56

I need a holiday! Right now!

Joseyjo · 12/07/2005 13:17

i get restless leg - it is sooo annoying and regularly stops me (and of course dh) from sleeping. up to now i have only really had it in the evening, but today - because i am trying to be grown-up and professional they have been twitching all day!! picture the scene - i am trying to be serious in interviews for a secondment to do my job whilst i am on maternity leave and i am grunting from being kicked in the diaphragm and twitching!!! how could anyone NOT want my job so they can become just like me?!!!!
anyway best get back to scoffing my lunch so that i can do the next one.... such fun!

Jockey · 12/07/2005 13:28

There is a benefit to all this - got a perfect reason to give dh a good kick if he's snoring in the night - I'll just put it down to "restless leg syndrome"!

Lexie100 · 12/07/2005 13:33

Hope all ok as not read up on all i have missed.

I agree with the too hot, too tired and leg ache. I have tried everything from sitting up in bed to hanging my legs over the edge - none helped me sleep. I also get horrid leg cramps which keep me awake too.

Also have low back ache most of the time and driving is pure agony. Do we really have 3 months left!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/07/2005 13:35

14 and a bit weeks and counting..... jeez, seems so close yet so far!

Off for a nap now i have FINALLY managed to get the little devil child to sleep!!!

Take care all and ill catch u later!!!

BigBumpBonnie · 12/07/2005 15:25

I've just been wondering about the birth plan. Has anyone actually written theirs yet? I have had two natural births with just gas and air and pethidine for pain relief and have been lucky with both. But the last one was just soooooooo painful (i know i'm a wimp!) I am seriously considering an epidural this time but really can't decide whether to go for one or not. Is anyone else considering one of these or are you all extremley brave? Has anyone had one for a previous birth? I've heard good and bad stories and can't seem to make a decision but if I do opt for one think it's something that needs to be decided pretty early on.

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 12/07/2005 15:54

Had an epidural with jess.... and my god, it better be available this time! Not good with pain unfortunately, so anything to make life just a little easier!

Did have a rather vivid dream tho - emergency cs, little boy, 8lbs 2oz...... bizzare! Had the same with jess but was a girl naturally and 6lbs 4oz - she was natural and 6lb 6oz!

Twiglett · 12/07/2005 17:10
