morningpaper - I can almost smell those scones from here! MMMMM! I eat sugar from the bag never mind the little 'uns!!! Started having loads in my tea - don't know why just really fancy sugar at the moment. (GOOD EXCUSE!!!)

My little fella is like a different child today & thank goodness we have almost been tantrum free (touch wood). Think he slept better last night. OH NO!!! Shouldn't have said that....

JM when is Jess 1? My dd is 6 on 10 July. Having fun buying girly stuff. Keep justifying expenditure by pointing out that I'll have another dd who will fit into this stuff one day... (typical female).

Mawbroon - you poor thing hope you got home ok.

SusiS · 06/07/2005 21:19

hmm, just wondering if it was a man who came up with the 'blooming stage' happening sometime?!?!?

bump was very uncomfy all day really! quite hard and tight; kept finding myself rubbing it all day long

were meant to go and have our antenatal class today; guess what: got cancelled!!!!
had everything organised (babysitter and dp off work, blablabla) and was looking forward to some 'adult' company past 10pm!!!!
oh well, will happen another evening; just don't know when yet!

awww jm!!! 1st birthday! ds's was really cute - just the 3 of us at home; but very funny - and oh boy did he enjoy his cake (he hardly gets anything sweet) - dug in with both hands!!!!!

and i also see knees/elbows sticking out

I don't bloom... I was really ill the whole time last time too, so it's a nice feeling to be able to function! My baby's 16 months old it went so fast... I've only got 3 months left with just him... and this is probably my last pregnancy... wah! Thank god he loves cuddling... he's such a mummy's boy!

Enjoy the first birthday JM!

fastasleep · 06/07/2005 21:21

Theo's first birthday was a bit of an anti climax... one of those 'oh god no no one's turned up, I want to cry!' days... argh low key is so much better!

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 06/07/2005 21:21

Jess will be 1 on the 24th..... cant believe it! Off to town to buy her (more for dh's beenfit) the Big Cook Little Cook DVD tomorrow. Keep spoiling her rotten, and know i shouldnt.

This one will benefit from SOME of the stuff she has if its a boy, if not all of it if its a girl!!!

fastasleep · 06/07/2005 21:24

If it's a boy you could always donate all your girl stuff to er... someone

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 06/07/2005 21:25

i intend to! You will all have first dibs on whatever i have left upstairs - misdee is taking good chunks of it which is good!

fastasleep · 06/07/2005 21:30

I guess I should donate my boy stuff to people! Just have to sort through it all and chuck out the poo stained bits then find the things I can't part with and put them in a box... hmm should I wait for the elusive 'nesting' (man invention!!) or just get on with it?

Piggiesmum · 06/07/2005 21:32

This 'blooming' business must be a myth.

The last few nights I've actually had decent nights sleep and I'm still knackered.

Baby decides to wake up and kick/punch away merrily just as i go to bed and try to sleep. Getting some quite distinct bulges when he gets into a good rhythm
It fascinating watching my tummy jump out and up and down, more fun than watching telly

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 06/07/2005 21:32

FA - we'll swap if its a boy ok!

fastasleep · 06/07/2005 21:35

Ok, most of the good stuff is next/boots there's nothing exciting I'm afraid and he gets poo on everything and I wouldn't want to give anyone..well..you know, ew.

It is more fun than watching TV...DH doesn't get it

hester · 06/07/2005 21:41

I'm knackered, too. But I have to say - at the risk of annoying those of you who are suffering - isn't pregnancy the most fabulous thing? I've worked for so long to get here - years and years - and it feels so very special. I LOVE being pregnant; I love my (rather handsome, if I say so myself) bump; I love being able to sing to my baby in the bath; I love her kicks and squirms. I'm very sad that this will be my only experience of pregnancy - I want more and more

fastasleep - if you don't mind me asking, why do you think you won't be pregnant again? At your age, isn't anything possible?

fastasleep · 06/07/2005 21:50

I want more and more too Hester! DH wants a vesectomy! We can't afford another baby, then I have to study right from the beginning (access course, degree...job!) and then maybe we'll have enough money to move out of 'car bomb alley'... and then maybe when I'm in my 30's just maybe we might be able to afford another child, that is, as long as my kids doing their GCSE's don't mind!!

You could say anything's possible for you too Hester, obviously it's a lot more difficult! But still, there are women around here having babies at 43...44...45.... (60 something if you come from Russia and eat the 'special turnips' ) just make sure to enjoy her, and spoil her! As I'm sure you will!

We're all so lucky!

mawbroon · 06/07/2005 22:01

I got home no probs BTW but could see the big crowds and police presence up the other end of the street. Haven't heard if there has been any more trouble tonight, but I live out of town so it won't affect me tonight.

Yippee we are allowed to dress down at work for the rest of the week at work. This is so that people in suits etc are not targeted by the protestors, but brilliant that I can wear my comfy jogging bottoms and DH's t-shirt

hester · 06/07/2005 22:08

'Car bomb alley', fastasleep? Where on earth do you live?!

I bet you will have more children - maybe go off and have a fabulous career first, then have a second lot of kids in your late 30s/early 40s. You'll look back at these days and say, "I never thought I'd be churning them out this late, like that old lag - hester, was her name? Ah, I wonder where she is now? She must be drawing her pension!"

Mawbroon - I'm so pleased you got home safe and well! Put your feet up and eat chocolate - you've earned it.

Piggiesmum · 06/07/2005 22:41

I know exactly what you mean Hester. I do have a winge about how knackered I am, whether bump is aching or kicking my bladder but I wouldn't change it for the world. especially now bump is actually looking like a bump and not like I've just eaten too many pies

triceratops · 07/07/2005 08:47

I love being pregnant, and dh loves it too. I am definately blooming - if you count being bright red in the face and randy as you like .

Can't concentrate though which is making work difficult.

My best friend from school has just become a surgeon. How cool is that? She has two mums (they both had girls at the same time). One has become a surgeon and the other one used to be a lap dancer but now manages a club on the costa del sol. They are brilliant parents and are proud of both of their girls.

BigBumpBonnie · 07/07/2005 09:25

fastasleep, you never know what's going to happen! My ds will be 17 in October. We had him when we had just turned 17 ourselves. Obviously it was hard, everyone told us we wouldn't stay together but 15 years on we had dd1 and now here I am pg again. If you'd asked me 16 years ago I would have been sterilised there and then as really didn't think I'd have any more. Once ds was at school I enjoyed working and when he got to the age of not needing babysitters we were enjoying going out, holiday's etc. Now I've got dd I'm enjoying the whole experience again!

(just add this is def the last one for me now though )

BigBumpBonnie · 07/07/2005 09:26

oh, is anyone else looking at their belly and wondering how an earth another 3 months of pregnancy is going to fit in there??? I already look past my due date!

SusiS · 07/07/2005 09:28

lol hester. would be funny to see where we all are in 10 years time

i sometimes get moments when i 'forget' that i am pregnant
mostly when i sit comfy, eat chocolate and watch tv. but as soon as i want to get up 'ohhh, yeah right. bump!'

atm i sleep quite well (don't count the toilet runs) - but i am still sooooo tired!!!!!

have to admit my little girl will have to wear ds's clothes; well, the 'unisex' ones! guess she can't get out of being a tomboy
i did get a few girly things from a friend though, and i might even go and buy a few more. don't want that poor girl get a complex

I fell asleep yesterday too - was supposed to cook some tea by time dh got home so he could go out and do some bricking on our house, but he woke me up when he got in - ooops! I'd been there since I got in from work.

Glad u got home ok mb.

I'm also wondering how big I'm going to get over the next 3 months and how on earth I'll be able to move!

4D scan next Friday - excitment of seeing JJ again is building, can't wait!

fastasleep · 07/07/2005 10:10

Glad you got home ok too Mawbroon! I'd love to have a career and then when it gets boring jack it all in for more babies....that would be so cool! If only life was like that though lol

I live in Liverpool but like the worst bit bar one! We don't get many shootings but quite a few car bombs and arsons etc...

So jealous of 4D scans!! Poor little Sophia's had her privacy invaded too many times already though, I'd probably feel mean!

I'm utterly exhausted, just going out round some museums and cafes yesterday was enough to zonk me completely. I spose I have been 'out' every day this week...but still

fastasleep · 07/07/2005 10:20

Hope everyone in London is ok, how weird... going to have to go watch the news!

jolovett · 07/07/2005 11:16

Anybody in London from this board?

Hope everyone is ok? So scary listening it to on the news let alone being near whats going on.

My heart goes out to everyone involved.

fastasleep · 07/07/2005 11:17

Hester uses the tube doesn't she? (I'm sure she's fine, very slim chance of her being involved) was looking on the stats thread, quite a few from London...
