Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

Oooooh Frizbe, you're right!!!! Ok... i'll just wish for much cooler temperatures and 0% humidity!!!

spacecadet · 26/06/2005 21:46

welcom littlemermaid, my dd is only 11 months and i already have 4 dc's!!

Littlemermaid · 26/06/2005 22:02

Thanks for the warm welcome ! Vital stats ok then,

I'm 28, DH is too. Married 4 years, together for 7. DS was born October 2004. Very surprised to be pregnant again so soon as I have severe Endometriosis. DS was concieved 6 months after laser surgery to control my endo and we had been told there was practically no chance of conception without fertility treatment, so we were thrilled by our little miracle boy and the doctors were amazed ! We never thought there was much chance of a second baby and were told we had to try more or less straight away as the longer we waited the less chance there would be and to cut a long story short we are stunned at the moment !!! Spacecadet 4 DC's - wow

angedemarche · 26/06/2005 22:34

hi to everyone!
SC: 4 dc!!! my goodness you have been busy!
LM: Congrats and have you been given a date for the end of Feb yet?

I am a little behind the rest of you ladies because I think due date is 1st march, so no m/s yet, maybe not at all, touch wood.
Hope you are feeling better, or at least having some good spells.
Anyone suffering because of anyone particular thing? I remember first time round that toothpaste turned my stomach, for some reason it tasted of liquorice, yuk!

Frizbe · 27/06/2005 08:07

Hi Angedemarche, don't worry about March! I'll probably be joining you there! as edd is 28th Feb, but dd was 5 days late, so expecting March really and based on my 30 day cycle I guess I am looking at March too!!
Have to say no cravings at the mo....being very thankful that de cafe coffee seems to have improved in flavour tho!

teuch · 27/06/2005 09:59

Hi all - welcome to new folks, we will need another round-up of stats methinks since it is getting busy!

Have a scan today at 12noon...I am totally ill and can't decide whether it is m/s or nerves! I just can't picture it all being ok but I am working hard on positive visualisation!

2 hours and counting...last pee at 11am!

Tabs · 27/06/2005 10:16

Ok ladies - I'm back from my scan, and am very pleased and relieved to report that all appears well.

Despite drinking 750ml of water in the hour before the scan, my bladder wasn't full, so the screen was very grainy, but the sonographer was still able to make out an 18mm foetus with a little bouncing heartbeat. The dates agree spot on with those from my chart, so due date is still fixed at 3rd Feb, with me being 8+3 today.

She spotted a little cyst on my right ovary, but said that this is perfectly normal during the early stages of pregnancy.

She said that normally I now wouldn't get a 12 week scan, but I pointed out that that would diminish the re-assurance offered by this one, so she put a note on my notes to ensure that I still get another.

I already have that one booked to combine with my booking in appointment on 19th July, so just 3 weeks to wait for that now.

Teuch - hope you get equally good news at yours later.

Welcome and congrats to littlemermaid.

And I'll try and do another stats roundup this evening whilst I'm watching Eastenders or something, unless anyone else wants to jump in first!

Frizbe · 27/06/2005 10:44

Yeah Tabs Teuch hope all goes well.

Mama5 · 27/06/2005 11:31

Congrats Tabs its so good to see all is well!
It is me who changed my name -I used to be Miranda5 but as i talk about MN to all my friends I was worried they may go on and recognise all my dippy postings!

Good luck Teuch - only 45 minutes till you can wee!

Glad to hear all is well Tabs!
I'm feeling very left out here... i want a scan too...
I haven't got my booking appointment until the 14th July and there was no mention of a scan!
I'll beg if i have to... i have no shame!!

{{kicks imaginary bucket out of the way, while pouting and pulling puppy dog eyes... sob sob...}}

teuch · 27/06/2005 13:05

woo-hoo! very happy with scan, one very active baby measuring 2.43cm which fits with my dates of around 9+1.

The staff at Healthcare Now were great so if anyone is in the Edinburgh area I would highly recommend!

So relieved since I couldn't picture it going well at all...

spacecadet · 27/06/2005 13:33

tabs-glad youre scan went well, my next one is tomorrow, dont worry about the cyst, i showed up a cyst on my ovary but the sonagrapher said it was perfectly normal and was probably a luteal cyst.

spacecadet · 27/06/2005 13:34

good news on your scan teuch

teuch · 27/06/2005 13:41

ps - changed my antenatal vitamin today to clearblue folic acid...they contain tuna oil and I have had disgusting tuna burps all morning...
avoid them at all costs!

(it ain't even worth the printed days which let you know when you have remembered to take them)

Great news Tabs! Such a relief for now isn't it?!

RosiePosie · 27/06/2005 13:55

Hi, just introducing myself. I'm unexpectedly expecting no. 3. Due date is Feb 28th, but I've was 8 days late with both other babies so will probably lurk between both Feb and March threads. Hope you are all well and not feeling too icky!

TicTac · 27/06/2005 14:15

Hi all, congrats on great scan news tabs 7 teuch! I got my date over the weekend and I am not going for my scan until the 2nd august....:-( really wanted it as soon as possible but the hospital say it is the next available date! Grumble, grumble.

teuch · 27/06/2005 15:02

welcome rosieposie and congrats! how old are your other children? Tell us all about yourself!!

Tictac, 2nd August seems ages away but at least you will get to see loads at that scan! I went to a private clinic for mine and I would recommend it if there is somewhere nearby that does them for you...

Mama5 · 27/06/2005 15:18

Sooooooooooooo tired

teuch · 27/06/2005 15:34

aww mama5! I know how you feel...yesterday I was so bushed I couldn't keep my eyes open for more than an hour at a time!

kando · 27/06/2005 16:25

Hi everyone - welcome to all the newbies. I can't believe how much this thread has grown again!

Am feeling OK apart from this dratted tiredness - I wake up from an 8 hour sleep feeling tired! Have finally got a booking in appointment to see the community midwife, but have been told by my gp surgery that I definately won't get a scan before we leave for Holland. Have now booked a private one which will also incorporate the Downs' test. Great news about all the scans which went well.

Yeahbut - thanks for your CAT. Will CAT you back again, but how did you get on with your OB/GYN appointment, it was today wasn't it?

Frizbe · 27/06/2005 16:42

Teuch that's great news!

Welcome to Rosie Posie, we have the same EDD! partners in crime then

YeahBut · 27/06/2005 17:14

Hi everyone and welcome to the new girls! Had my first appointment with the OB/GYN today which I was a bit nervous about because I didn't really know what to expect (we're in Holland). But it was fine! They seem really on the ball. I even had a scan so got to see Smudge for the first time (although 'cos it's still early days had to have an internal scan. Dh wasn't quite sure where to look!! ) Could see its little heart beating away! Have requested the screening tests so will have blood tests in 2 weeks and a nuchal scan in 4 weeks. All seems a bit more real now!

RosiePosie · 27/06/2005 17:15

Thanks for the welcomes! Glad there are others due at the end of the month. I'm convinced I'm going to go into March anyway. Next year isn't a leap year is it?!

I have a 4.5 yr old ds and a 19 month old dd. This one is definately my last!

angedemarche · 27/06/2005 17:48

Teuch and Tabs and Yeahbut: great news about the scans!! Very exciting.

SC: hope you are feeling a wee bit better today.

Hello RosiePosie: Glad to see you have joined us here.

Hope someone will do stats soon, It would be good to have all the info together.

I went to see my doctor late afternoon today. I told him that I had a +ve pg test on Friday and that my LMP was 25th March. His advice was to put it out of my head totally and not do anymore tests for 4 weeks and then make another appointment with his colleague (my own doc retires on thursday). He told me to do all the things you should when pregnant, take it easy, do some exercise, take folic acid etc.
It is going to be very hard not to think about this for another 4 weeks, I am so worked up about it already.

I think that is all my news for the moment.

What do you think?
XxX

Mama5 · 27/06/2005 18:43

Any not so golden oldies on here????
I am 37 and had a swift look at my nuchal odds and was horrified. According to the chart if I test according to my age ( no better no worse) I will screen positive! I think it was 1 in 249 or something with 250 being the cut off!Last time my odds went down a lot but each pg is different. Would love to hear from more oldsters!
