VenusInfers · 10/11/2009 10:36

Eeek! Erika! Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah! Here comes little Bryn!

EasyEggs · 10/11/2009 10:42

LOL Erika @ the wee on the floor

Hope things get moving asap. How frequent are your contractions now? Sorry. I'm so nosey!

Laugs · 10/11/2009 10:46

Ooh I'm very excited for you Erika. Shall we all do a belly dance around our computers?

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 10:46

They're pretty frequent but still very mild. I haven't actually started timing them Am too busy having a sing and boogie

Also - for the amusment factor. When I told mum, "This Is It" was playing on the radio in the background

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 10:48

That should have been sing and boogie!!

Laugs I think everyone should be dancing along with me! Left, right, forward, back and... PUSH!

Laugs · 10/11/2009 10:50

Here's that Contraction Master that Comma linked to.

beepbeep · 10/11/2009 10:51

How exciting Erika - hope it all goes well, I danced to Elvis throughout most of my labour with DS - was 3hrs 20mins - so keep moving!!

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 10:53

Ohh fantastic, thanks, was trying to find it! A Pharoh pretending to be Elvis is pretty much the same thing right?! Am in such a fab mood now!!

Laugs · 10/11/2009 10:54

Hmm, I don't know that song. Can I Walk Like an Egyptian in your honour instead?

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/11/2009 10:58

Erika I think you will see your little Bryn in the next 24 hours - ooooh I am so excited for you It's been an incredible journey for you this pregnancy - the next stage is about to begin!!!!

Grrrr to strange comments from mother-in-laws and step mothers. I have both and know what it feels like when they do / say strange things. It is only in the last few years I've been on good terms with my step mother.

I am worried I have offended my MIL as FIL has a nasty stomach bug so asked her ever so nicely to keep away today (she was going to pick up DS1 from school today) in case she is infectious. I just don't want to have nasty V&D while giving birth or have the DSs come down with it while I am about to pop. Am I being unreasonable?

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 11:02

Good luck erika hope it all goes smoothly for you. Soon your little Bryn will be here. Agree, you need to get your DP out of work now, he can rock back and forth with you not at his computer! Thinking of you!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 11:04

BBL not unreasonable at all, just a shame you had to even ask. A couple of my friends have had colds and stomach upsets, and their partners have kept away themselves in case they were infectious too. It is sensible, you really do not want a stomach bug at this stage.

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 11:21

Ooh, exciting! I suspect what I had been thinking were contractions up to now have been BH somehow setting off the SPD, as now I have the crutches and support belt they are much less frequent. Oh well.

Just debating whether to demand an emergency physio appointment with the hope of them bringing the section forward. Not in all that much pain at this exact moment, but it seems daft to be so disabled when the baby is in fact fully formed. But then I get scared of the section. I suppose it has to be done sooner or later, and sooner would be better...

Anyway, I can get facebook on my mobile in hospital, so does anyone want to become facebook friends so we can communicate if mumsnet is unavailiable? my email is alicia j duffy at google mail dot com (obviously without the space and with @ and .) if anyone wants to add me, stick a note on the request telling me who you are!

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 11:22

erika when I said ooh exciting, I was referring to you, btw

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 11:26

Lissy I added you Might be worth at least just giving the hospital a call?

Becky that's totally reasonable! Would be incredably silly if she is offended by it really, its just practical.

Laugs looking good

raggie · 10/11/2009 11:29

Wooooooo, erika, so so exciting! Thinking of you and hoping everything goes speedily and safely Giggling at your descriptions of mum and DP too...!

So lovely to hear from you broodzilla - have been thinking about you lots. Thanks for the top labour tips ;)

Congratulations and well done wook!! Welcome Hedy Spooky about the birthday coincidence.

Right, am off to the mw-led unit at the JR now for a wee look around. Back later for updates!

tigger32 · 10/11/2009 11:37

Lissy I've added you too!
erika I'll add you too if thats ok, once lissy has accepted, (then I can find you)

Laugs · 10/11/2009 11:39

Lissy I think it's worth ringing to ask for an emergency physio, esp since you were in hospital the other night in such pain. Whether the physio dept communicate with the maternity ward might be a different matter though... Could you not just ask the maternity ward if there is any chance of getting your CS sooner?

sleeplessinthecity · 10/11/2009 11:43

Gosh,..... real time contractions on mumsnet..how cool...GO ERIKA!!!!!

At last facebook could come in useful.. I will have it in hosp too so could keep in touch..will add you Lissy

TOK · 10/11/2009 11:44

Oh Erika that's so exciting. I hope it all happens quickly and smoothly for you. Good luck!!

claired21 · 10/11/2009 11:48

I've added lissy & erika on fb, not sure what everyone else's real name is but when they accept me I'll be in their friends list! Would put a bump photo as my profile pic but I actually don't have any.

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/11/2009 11:48

Ooooh Lissy I've sent you a friend request too

Raggie have fun at the JR! That place has many memories for me - going for scans, etc.

If anyone wants to add me too please do! rebecca dot collins at daftcat dot co dot uk.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 11:48

Do they have the internet in hospt then? {niave face}

Does that mean I could take my laptop i am lost without it!

If you tell me how I get access to the internet on my mobile phone i will add you , if not you will just have to all wait!

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 11:48

I am suddenly very popular on facebook!

Ninjacat · 10/11/2009 11:50
