Called the hospital and they said to go up about 3ish just to check things are going okay. DP is leaving work at lunch time and heading over here. Got an incredably amount of pressure going on, and feeling sick, though still very calm - am impressing myself

Facebook-wise, if you search Erika-Maye under the Roedean School network, thats the easiest way to find me. If any of you want to of course

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 11:51

I have heard from Scarlotti but I don't want to steal her fire so am keeping my lips firmly closed (although its killing me!!!)

EasyEggs · 10/11/2009 11:53

Wow Erika you're a star!! I'll be awaiting impatiently for news

I have added some of you to FB hope that's ok?? Feel free to add me but let me know who you are. I am wayyyy to easily confused these days!

gemloud at yahoo dot co dot uk

Have to dash as am supposed to be heading out in about 10mins and dd still isn't dressed, argghhhh, late AGAIN!

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 11:53

pavlov most hospitals seem to have that patientline thing, but it is rubbish and expensive so i wouldn't recommend it.

Facebook is pretty good on mobile internet, or you can set it up to work via text messages as well. I have facebook saved in my address book, so I can text status updates, which comes in handy for times like this. I also have it text me any replies, although I will be turning that feature off after the birth as it can get annoying. Will be useful when bedbound after the section though.

Should we have a "group" on facebook? Here is the best way to communicate, but as facebook is more easily available, it could make a good backup. I'll set one up, and try to invite anyone who has added me, but I WILL forget some people so please don't be offended!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 11:53

no, no scarlotti for awhile... wonder if we shall have some positive news there soon too?!!

Now this is exciting...there is going to be an explosion of babies i predict 5 more babies by friday....small wager anyone, say, a batch of kyte's cookies? Talking of which, I wonder how she is doing? Hope the CS went ok for her.

EasyEggs · 10/11/2009 11:53

ERIKA!!! That's sooo mean !!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 11:54

oh lissy how do you do that? I am on facebook but being an older fart not the most up to date. I see my friends post from their mobiles all the time, i just presumed they were all filfthy rich to afford to surf online...

BeckyBendyLegs · 10/11/2009 11:55

I'm getting lots of facebook emails Yeah!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 11:55

oooooh that means she has popped!!!!!!!

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 12:00

Oh oh yes facebook group!! I am feeling very loved, suddenly a lot of strange women adding me

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 12:01

Right, it is probably easiest if we all just join this group if we want to be facebook friends with each other, makes it easier to find each other...

Nov 09 facebook group

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 12:03

Lissy you look just like I imagined!

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 12:04

pavlov I set mine up on my mobile, but I bet you can do it from a computer as well. Does your mobile have an option for something that could be vaguely internet related? Mine is called 02 active for some reason. I'm on pay as you go, but have a deal for free internet use. It is very slow, but a good backup. The facebook texts thing is very good, if a little annoying, I think I need to tweak my settings slightly.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 12:04

so that is all good. But how do I access by mobile/texting thingy whatsit? I god I sound so indept

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 12:05

Why didn't I think of that? I was inviting people one by one as am terrible with names..!!!

LissyGlitter · 10/11/2009 12:05

pavlov lol, not sure if that is a compliment or not

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 12:08

Its a compliment lissy my lovely! You look fab with your big bump.

I think, on the basis of that thread about bumps and facebook, we should all have bump pictures

claired21 · 10/11/2009 12:09

My bump picture will have to wait until DP is home to take it... it's amazing how excited we're all getting over a facebook group!!

ErikaMaye · 10/11/2009 12:11

I'm back to my munchies belly picture Saw you on the bump rubbing thread too Pavlov

Ohh am getting rather uncomfortable now... Massage chair time, I think!!!

misssese · 10/11/2009 12:13

Hello woke up this morning to a period like pain tightening and crampy feeling got myself rather excited as it felt so different from all my BH but that was over an hour ago so doesn't look promising.
erica im so excited for you! how funny that you are mumsnetting and facebooking through contractions!!! lolol
is it ok if i join the facebook group?

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 12:18

missese oh that does sound promising though...it can take a while to progress from BH/period type pains to full on contractions. I had BH/period aches that became quite regular from 5:30am or so until about 1pm with DD, before it became painful. Some people get the whole, OMG a contraction with no prior warning whatsoever - but that is mostly in the movies

skorpion · 10/11/2009 12:19

I've joined the group as well! Hope this works, am a bit of an dinosaur on fb - don't use it much at all.

misssese · 10/11/2009 12:22

im getting another slight little twinge now do they normal start off quite far apart? so it could start of quite mellow and build up???

misssese · 10/11/2009 12:24

i sound so clueless i just really want this to be it lol

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 10/11/2009 12:26

misssese yes, they can be far apart to start with, maybe every half hour? Depends on each person, but not always 10 mins apart and painful straight away.

Write the times down, and see if there is any pattern forming...

I might have to change my prediction of 5 to more
