Hobnob I can see where you're coming from with refusing the induction. I think I'll ask the consultant whether I could get away with doing the same thing, despite the skin condition, although DD's skin was extremely dry when she was finally born at 42+1 and she doesn't have any underlying condition...
Fubble Hope the sweep has had some effect for you...
Comma You poor thing - when is that dreaded MIL beast going home?? Just had a thought about Esme - that's the name of one of the characters in the Twilight books/film series, so I'm sure people in the states will get used to it soon.
Pav Haven't made the soup yet but it's on my list of things to do tomorrow, especially since you've told me what goes in yours - it sounds lush, can't wait - thank you! Sorry to hear about DH and his mate etc. My DH used to have a mate like that but he was incredibly possessive and used to cause all manner of arguments between us as he seemed to resent DH spending any time with me. Luckily, we had a massive fallout with him and his equally possessive wife so I haven't got the same problem this time round. Hope your DD is feeling better soon.
Erika Hope things get going for you today and you have Bryn in your arms soon...
Lissy Good to hear from you - glad the physio was helpful. I know 10 days seems like an age but just think the SPD will go quickly afterwards...
Maman I hope your little one starts behaving himself. Roll on Tuesday!
Tabby So sorry to hear about your grandad, especially now. >
Scarlotti I sympathise with the sausage fingers. I'm finding I'm very clumsy, dropping cups, cutlery etc, particularly in the evenings when my fingers are really swollen. DH is fascinated with them but DD has been really sweet, kissing my hands and saying "all better, mummy!"
Becky I said exactly the same for DD's birthday tea and it ended up being a party, complete with all the tidying up afterwards unfortunately! Hope you all had fun today.
Well, I managed to get out of bed and get dressed today so the pig must have lessened it's grip on me. Just had a thought though - aren't you classed as being infectious for a certain number of days? I think I might ring the consultant's secretary on Monday, as I'll be taking my last anti-virals then, and see whether it might be better to have a phone consultation instead of me going to hospital and potentially infecting all and sundry.
Is anyone else finding their DD/DS's ridiculously clingy at the moment? I can't even go to the loo without DD crying and then barging in to sit on my knee. She even tried to clamber on me when I was being sick from coughing so much this afternoon.
Ooh, talking of cervix dancing, just had a really strong pain. Isn't it bizarre that this is the only time in your life when you actually want pain and for it to get worse? I hope it's not just a one off but I suspect the baby is set to stay put until forced out... Roll on the fireworks and long walk up and down a steep hill tomorrow night! Off to watch Harry Hill and X Factor - wishing strong contractions and babies on all those who want them
