Tabby sorry to hear about your loss Big hugs x

No developments over night, feel about the same. Someone needs to have a baby this weekend though

longwayaway · 07/11/2009 13:27

Lissy I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through - glad you're getting treatment for the pain and I hope you can find some enjoyment in these last days of pregnancy. If not, you will at least be enjoying a baby soon!

Tabby sorry to hear about your granddad

I'm home alone today, and tomorrow, while DH takes his sister into London for some sightseeing. Slightly disappointed I can't go with them, but I welcome the peace and quiet. DH keeps joking that the baby will be born on Sunday, the 8th, because it's his brother's birthday. DH was almost born that day and he likes to joke about stealing his brother's birthday. And wouldn't it be so funny for him to get a call from me while he's in London tomorrow, telling him to get home as soon as he can! Hahaha!

sleeplessinthecity · 07/11/2009 13:54

lissy poor you! what a nightmare..are you ok?? Don't be scared but I can understand that you are.. hope things improve.

Tabby sorry for your loss. Hope things start for you soon too

I am waiting, drinking tonnes of raspberry leaf to sink a ship...I want to meet her now!
My stitch pain has disappeared today which probably means she's shifted back up..not sure its a good thing but at least its more comfortable....

Babies,,,,,HURRY UP!

Comma2 · 07/11/2009 14:05

Pav grr! DH not ever getting up with DD has been my pet peeve these last 2 y! Not even now. He often sleeps until 9 if his schedule permits, while I am up anytime between 5 and 7. Bloody cheek. It was horrible when she was really little, he didn't get up once the first 7 months, then complained ot his mom about being tired at work. So much harder than going to work and sitting in front of the computer with a nice cup of tea.

VenusInfers · 07/11/2009 16:45

Katser Yeah, I'm now 40+6 but my bump is still very high and very sure that the little booger hasn't wriggled down at all since my check up on Weds. Good to hear your LO is behaving a bit better! Off to some fireworks tonight in the hope of scaring him into postion!

Lissey Hurrah for drugs and helpful MILs! Still an awful situation to be in, and I can understand your mixed feelings about natural labour/being induced. At the moment, neither must be very appealing.

hobnob57 · 07/11/2009 16:47

Greetings to all. So sorry to hear your news tabby

Nothing to report here really. My huge evening of BH and engagement on Thursday night has totally dissipated. Baby is now really high, no cervix pain whatsoever and may even be a bit diagonal again. Bloomin' babies...

Might walk the 2 miles to the fireworks tonight and back. Wish we had a portable chair tho!

DD and DH are both under the weather - I can't believe how sicky we've been this autumn, most unusual! I have my piggy 'flu jab today and my arm is beginning to get pretty sore. I can imagine it being sort to type later on this evening. No 'flu symptoms yet though, thank goodness.

Must get tea ready if we're going out later... Much contracting love to you all.

PS Scarlotti it's normal up here to be seen at 38 weeks then 41. A sweep is offered at the 41 appointment and induction booked in if you like. I'm getting seen on Tues (40+4) for a sweep just because of my insistence at avoiding induction. But at this rate there's no way they'll even be able to reach my cervix

Mama2b5 · 07/11/2009 17:07

Erika- fingers crossed for you - have noticed you on some other thread( SPD) and just wanted to say all the best!

Also to all of the November Crew!

scarlotti · 07/11/2009 18:00

kaster I really hope all this cervix dancing is dilating my cervix, as I don't mind the pains if they're actually worthwhile!

Am hopeful that it will just be days now as the pains are different to before, so hoping he's lower. I've had a bit more mucus come out (sorry if tmi) but not sure if it means progression after all that's happened over the last few weeks. I just feel now like I constantly need the loo, but when I go only a trickle comes out. My right hand is constantly tingly and my fingers are like sausages - all of me feels like it's about to burst!!

hobnob thanks for confirming the mw appts. Fingers crossed I won't need the next one on Thurs.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 07/11/2009 18:05

tabby sorry to hear of the passing of your grandad

katster37 · 07/11/2009 18:21

Scarlotti, that is qhat I am hoping too If it's doing something, I can put up with it, but if it's just the baby having a laugh, it's slightly annoying!!

Looking forward to a night in of strictly and X factor - definitely not brave enough to stand outside watching fireworks at the minute!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 07/11/2009 19:02

Hey all...where are the babies? .

I am knackered, been up since 5:45am, after getting to sleep at 3am. I did sleep from 9pm-12pm, then awake furious with dh. Then he came in at 2am and i could not sleep as i was so annoyed! DD has been sick and fell asleep on sofa at 5:45pm so anticipating she will wake up early, unless she does not go back to sleep. I hope so!

WizzyWoo · 07/11/2009 19:40

Hobnob I can see where you're coming from with refusing the induction. I think I'll ask the consultant whether I could get away with doing the same thing, despite the skin condition, although DD's skin was extremely dry when she was finally born at 42+1 and she doesn't have any underlying condition...

Fubble Hope the sweep has had some effect for you...

Comma You poor thing - when is that dreaded MIL beast going home?? Just had a thought about Esme - that's the name of one of the characters in the Twilight books/film series, so I'm sure people in the states will get used to it soon.

Pav Haven't made the soup yet but it's on my list of things to do tomorrow, especially since you've told me what goes in yours - it sounds lush, can't wait - thank you! Sorry to hear about DH and his mate etc. My DH used to have a mate like that but he was incredibly possessive and used to cause all manner of arguments between us as he seemed to resent DH spending any time with me. Luckily, we had a massive fallout with him and his equally possessive wife so I haven't got the same problem this time round. Hope your DD is feeling better soon.

Erika Hope things get going for you today and you have Bryn in your arms soon...

Lissy Good to hear from you - glad the physio was helpful. I know 10 days seems like an age but just think the SPD will go quickly afterwards...

Maman I hope your little one starts behaving himself. Roll on Tuesday!

Tabby So sorry to hear about your grandad, especially now. >

Scarlotti I sympathise with the sausage fingers. I'm finding I'm very clumsy, dropping cups, cutlery etc, particularly in the evenings when my fingers are really swollen. DH is fascinated with them but DD has been really sweet, kissing my hands and saying "all better, mummy!"

Becky I said exactly the same for DD's birthday tea and it ended up being a party, complete with all the tidying up afterwards unfortunately! Hope you all had fun today.

Well, I managed to get out of bed and get dressed today so the pig must have lessened it's grip on me. Just had a thought though - aren't you classed as being infectious for a certain number of days? I think I might ring the consultant's secretary on Monday, as I'll be taking my last anti-virals then, and see whether it might be better to have a phone consultation instead of me going to hospital and potentially infecting all and sundry.

Is anyone else finding their DD/DS's ridiculously clingy at the moment? I can't even go to the loo without DD crying and then barging in to sit on my knee. She even tried to clamber on me when I was being sick from coughing so much this afternoon.

Ooh, talking of cervix dancing, just had a really strong pain. Isn't it bizarre that this is the only time in your life when you actually want pain and for it to get worse? I hope it's not just a one off but I suspect the baby is set to stay put until forced out... Roll on the fireworks and long walk up and down a steep hill tomorrow night! Off to watch Harry Hill and X Factor - wishing strong contractions and babies on all those who want them

TOK · 07/11/2009 19:40

Scarlotti I would def phone about the sweep/induction. Can't understand why no one is seeing you at this point anyway. The sooner you contact them, the sooner they can get an induction booked and all the slots may have gone for the following week if you hold on.

missese have my fingers crossed for you, really hope you don't have to join the overdue gang! Still nothing happening for me at 5 days over!

Went for long walk today, then into town and up various flights of stairs, had nice hot curry for tea, but zilch. My mum and dad go home tomorrow and was really hoping the bambino would arrive before they left. Guess it just wasn't meant to be

Kaster my ds didn't engage until I was in labour so don't worry too much about it. This is my second dc and it's head keeps bobbing out and in which is even more irritating-just make up your mind child!

Let's hope all overdue babies arrive soon!

PootleTheFlump · 07/11/2009 20:07

Hi everyone,

Tabby sorry to hear about your Grandad.

A good way of cooking squash if you can't be fished to peel it (like me!!) You can wrap in foil & bake in the oven, then cut open, scoop out the seeds and use the flesh as you wish, or cut in half, scoop out seeds and then bake. I find it so much easier to get to the flesh that way.

Have started clary sage baths and massaging into bump in an attempt to make all these BHs and niggles turn into something real. Am only 39+4 & already desperate to get going!! Have had far too many texts asking what's happening so am going to turn phone off and withdraw a bit!!

Hope anyone going to fireworks doesn't get too cold

Off to read rest of thread in a hopeless attempt to keep up!

misssese · 07/11/2009 20:41

sorry guys no progress here , we decided to go to Brent Cross shopping center today.(Wasnt sure if this was a bit of a mad thing to do)But didn't want to just be at home waiting for the baby and thought that maybe would encourage her to come some how?? lol had a couple of little BH / cramps but nothing that worried me also felt a slight heavy pressure down below and constantly needed a wee kept having to try find a loo lol so maybe there was a slight progress in her moving down???but had a lovely day and now enjoying x factor! I agree with erica we need a baby this weekend !!!!

ErikaMaye · 07/11/2009 20:48

Just thought I'd say to you all - don't sneeze whilst having a contraction. It bloody well hurts lol!!!

hobnob57 · 07/11/2009 21:00

Well a huge walk in the freezing cold and fireworks have done nothing for me except give me an achy pelvis. Baby's head is knocking around the top LHS somewhere unuseful. Off to see if DH is interested in a DVD so I can lie in a comfy position on the sofa and forget all about optimal foetal positioning. I've had enough of perching on stools and balls!

WizzyWoo · 07/11/2009 21:01

Erica Bless you!

Comma2 · 07/11/2009 21:35

venus my bump is well inside my ribcage every morning. She drops during hte day but then crawls back up. had the same with dd1, she had to be flushed into my pelvis during induction. Bit nerv-wrecking really.

Wizzy Here! Dd has enver in her life been clingy (to point where i was offended) but now she really is. I don't know how she knows, but she does. Well done getting over hte pig, I think you are infectious for another week or so!

Good luck with all the engaging and contracting! I agreee, baby soon!

I am off for a hot bath, have a sore throat coming on and also excellent to escape MIL. Have you ever seen Seinfeld? That's how it is atm...she is a Close-talker, Arm-toucher and has man hands....I keep picturing Elaine's reactions to her, keeps me afloat. Nothing serious obviously, but will be really annoyed if she stayed for two weeks and then can't even take care of DD1 during labour cause Baby is too late...ugh.

TOK · 07/11/2009 22:40

ErikaMaye, just to have a contraction to sneeze through would be a novelty for me!

Off to bed, once again in the hope that I will be woken up with either the sensation of having wet myself or in extreme pain and discomfort. The things being overdue does to you

longwayaway · 07/11/2009 23:02

Oh, TOK, that's funny stuff... glad you still have your sense of humor ;)

VenusInfers · 07/11/2009 23:46

TOK I like it!! Here's to pain!!

Comma2 That shifting around during the day sounds most strange! Must feel really odd. Lets hope she starts staying down. What do you mean by being flushed into your pelvis during induction? My LO is just all out front, in classic basket-ball-up-a-jumper fashion. Seems stupidly comfortable there despite all the ridiculous positions I get myself into during the day whenever I feel him moving.

I've lost track of exactly how many of us here are now overdue, but there must be 5 or 6 at least. Someone has to pop tomorrrow, surely??!!

Ninjacat · 08/11/2009 00:07

TMI ALERT

I have developed the most painful piles. Ow ow ow!!! don't know how I will cope in labour because this seems pretty unbareable and it has to be like a millionth of the pain. Please someone just give me an epidural now!

OP posts:
Comma2 · 08/11/2009 01:33

Ninja yikes! My piles are steadily getting worse too, but not beyond itchy...I read on a thread in pregnancy to wash, not wipe. Bit precarious, but if its that bad you could try?

TOK really, Dh has stopped wishing me good night for that very reason.

Venus Dd just never engaged, I am tall and had lots of water, so she floated fairly freely. The doctor had to rip the membrane to drain water in order to make her come down into the pelvis. I suspect the same thing now, because LO is pretty floaty still, up high in the morning and then coming down when I get up and gravity pulls on her. Does that make sense? And I look too as if I stuffed basketball under my too-short shirt. I hate looking like a bag-lady! With a ball.

ErikaMaye · 08/11/2009 03:33

Sorry to those of you suffering with piles, sounds very uncomfortable. Hope they ease up soon.

TOK isn't it funny what waiting does to you? I can't imagine ever wanting to be in pain under any other circumstances!!

Comma hope your bath gave you some peace

DP is sleeping comfortably. Git
