Stuff what people think or say Diege. Who cares?? If I had listened to people we wouldn't have had any children.

Might start them of at about £10 but put the corset at about £50 as it cost me £175 and I have worn it once.

hi diege

ye saw the bodies were out of stock when i looked.
what size should i get for dresses dd2 ?
bodies would get 12-18 mnths as she is 9-12 already is a long girl.

Report
Diege · 11/10/2009 12:58

Thanks KAYZ! I know you're right. I mean imagine looking back at 70 and thinking we didn't have that extra child because of being worried about what the midwife would say (she did go on and on about having 4, which did get to me a bit...odd for a midwife of all people ). Re; ebay, why not put a reserve on the corset? (say of £50 which is the minimum you can have a reserve with. Then you can start the bids lower so as not to disencourage people with a £50 start (and save yourself fees)but know that your item won't sell if it doesn't reach the reserve?
Hi TINKS, I;d go for the 12-18 months if dd2 is long. Ds is already in the 6-12 months as he too is very long, and doubt we'll get the whole winter out of this size as they already fit well.Shame the bodies are out of stock, but do check back as they sometimes come back in which can be v.annoying if you don't check!

Diege - I completely agree re no5. If you and DH want to and think it's right for your family then go for it!!

Kay - sorry, dong know much about eBay but good luck!

We've not got much food in the house so I have to go to the supermarket this afternoon. DH wants me to go to Morrisons so I can pick up his dry cleaning but they don't have baby seats in their trollies so I need to go to Tesco as well. My idea of hell but needs must! Might treat myself to a Starbucks between shops!

Diege · 11/10/2009 13:17

Thanks SES! No. 5 is just a very small (and unlikely) glimmer at the moment, but you speak sense! Def. a starbucks needed if you're braving 2 supermarkets...and a caramel slice too I'd say . Dh is currently at Morrisons with dds, but due back any minute. Shame he can't get your dh's cleaning

Hi everyone - STT, thanks for comments re buggy boards - will have to have a look round and see if we can find one to suit either the travel system or the SC Pop.

Had another night of being awake in the small hours, this time contractions were getting pretty ouchy, DS woke and came into our bed, so I went and got in his! I decided that if I had another three painful ones, I'd get the tens machine out - 3 more came, so I went downstairs and got it out, sat on the birthing ball, and everything immediately stopped!

Finally got back to sleep, but not for long so woke up very groggy. Lazed about this morning and got a little more sleep, then had some lunch but started feeling really odd, so went and got in the bath. It was then I realised that I hadn't felt LO move since yesterday - I had some cold drink, and jiggled and poked, but still nothing. So, getting more and more worried, I rang the hospital and they said to go in for monitoring. So, that's what I did this afternoon - course, soon as I arrived, and sat on the bed, the little bugger kicked , but they monitored anyway for a bit and said it was doing fine. But they want me to have a scan, they'll phone with an appointment tomorrow.

They said if I hadn't been down for a consultant appt on Thurs they'd have tried an induction today, which puzzled me, coz I thought they'd said they wouldn't induce me because of my previous c-section - but maybe that's not the reason.

They said the baby is big (from palpating) and that the head is still high so no point in a s+s.

40+5 and wondering what tonight has in store.

Diege · 11/10/2009 21:12

Ooh STT, it's certainly sounding like things are moving in the right direction. Must have been quite a stressful afternoon though, but fingers crossed you will go into labour in the next 24 hrs and not need to be induced. Good luck for tonight, have a feeling that it may well happen tonight xx

Off to bed now, have given up on the ironing pile(s)!
Oh and those twins!! Have to say I am starting to warm a little to them; they are so full of energy and vavoom! Glad Kandyrain went (dare I even utter the words 'fat thighs'); I know I am a bitch!

Morning - feeling miserable as hell here, and in a foul mood to boot. Have already yelled at DS, DH and the dog

Am now sat here crying - am so fed up, I know the baby isn't going to engage, and all the hard work I've done into trying to make this time better and achieve a natural birth has all been for nothing. Instead of sitting perched on the edge of the sofa for the last four months, I may as well have just laid back and made myself comfortable and lounged - coz fetal positioning obv doesn't matter to my body.

I can feel this morning that the baby is not just as high as yesterday, but if its possible, is even higher, making it really difficult to breathe.

I'm obviously not built to have babies at all. Perhaps that's natures way of telling me I shouldn't have them.

I know I'm only 6 days over, and technically, I can go up to 14 etc etc, but that's not the point - I feel crap now.

Sorry, will go and pull self together shortly.

Morning,

STT, Sorry you feel bad this morning. I'm sure it is par for the course when you are overdue. Maybe the baby will engage soon and you can have a natural birth. Try not to give up hope yet.

Hope IDOB's induction goes well today.

I can not believe that the twins went through last night!!

DS2 has a poorly tum which is making for awful nappies, which in turn is giving him awful nappy rash. Poor little thing seems so happy but once we try to change his nappy he just screams.

Hope you are all ok.

Poor you STT, I remember how depressing it is going a long way overdue (DD1 was induced 13 days late and born 14 days late). It is still worth doing the positioning stuff though, cos if they do induce you then you will have done some of the ground work. And all your hard work must be doing some good or you wouldn't have been having contractions over the last few days.

IDOB if you're lurking, good luck for today (if Beanie isn't already out!)

Sorry you are feeling bad STT. As Kay says try and stay positive it might turn out ok. And you were definately built to make babies >

Sorry DS2 is poorly Kay, hope you dont get it too.

Weird here today. DD is having her first full day of nursery to get her well settled before I go back to work. She will be doing 1 day a week from now on.

Also DH is back at work for first time in 5mnths so house is v quiet. Think I might treat myself to shopping trip without a pram or husband later. Still feel guilty though

Hello

Had come on to paddy that no one has told me about baby news but doesn't look like I've missed anything yet, so I'll let you all off for now

So, IDOB is being induced today? She sound's like she's ready for it. Wish I'd have been here actually, being a first timer and being induced is a little scary, but it doesn't always end up traumatic/emcs/all the other horrors you hear about.

And STT, you sound at the end of your tether you poor thing The night time contractions really do wear you down after a while (do you remember when I was pregnant with DS2?!! I am smiling now, so will you one day when you're looking back at all of this) so all of the 'giving up' talk can easily be put down to sheer exhaustion. I would carry on with the fetal positioning, as has been said, it all helps. You've had the monitoring, and baby is a good size, so you know they are fine and well. Can you have a nice relaxing bath and just try to stay calm today? Every hour that passes is bringing you closer to meeting your little baby

Kay sorry to hear about SG, I'm not a big fan of his/Boyzone, but it's never nice to hear of anyone, especially so young, dying

Diege how's the house move going? We are all set, we're moving out on the 24th, completing hopefully on the 27th, we're hoping to get contracts exchanged before the end of the week, so we'll know for sure soon enough. We've had to take the tenancy on early, which is a PITA money wise, but actually quite good in another sense - DH has spent most of the weekend taking over the boxes that have been packed up and small items of furniture, so at least we can move around in this house now!

Oh and FWIW STT, DS2 was 2 years (and 20 days, if you want to be precise!) old when DS3 was born, DS2 hasn't been in a buggy since, and we don't have a buggy board because Bugaboo haven't pulled their finger out and made one that will fit the Bee! We've spent days in town, walking round the zoo, at the beach, parks, fairs, well all the usual things really and he's never once needed to be carried (though I do have to hold his hand very tightly else he'll run off and I can't run as fast as him and he's a bit speedy with it )

Ses, am very of your spa day, DH says if I pass my driving test (two weeks today - arghhhhhhhh!) he's going to buy me one Sound's like O is getting better at night, hope he carries on, once they've cracked it there's not really much turning back

And that is it, I can't remember anything else, hello to everyone I've missed

Am going to have to shoot actually, DS3 has just woke up (lazy boy, latest he's ever slept in though!)

Will try and get back again before we move, but please please please someone text me when there is baby news please please please!! Lot's of love to all xxx

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 12/10/2009 10:15

Oh just thought, have very feint memories of DS2 in buggy and DS3 in sling... it didn't last long obviously! In fact now I remember, I stopped using the sling when DS3 came out of his tiny baby snowsuit, and since he was tiny even in the tiny baby sleepsuit, but then grew faster, percentage wise, than DS1 and 2, I'd say he was probably around 4 or 5 weeks when I stopped using the sling, so DS2 hasn't been in a buggy since then.

How could I forget that?

Anyway, DS3 is up and out of his cot, but is now wailing for food, weetabix and grapes here we come! So I am gone for real this time, TC everyone xxx

Morning!! Oh STT really feel for you As the others have said though, all you have been doing has helped, whatever may happen, and there's no reason to suggest you won't have your natural birth. Suggestion of a nice warm bath and some pampering sounds good!
TINKS, J is 74cm and 18ib and it won't be long before he's in 12-18 (probably xmas time) so thinking of boden dresses you could probably get away with getting 12-18m as I'd say it length you need to look at, esp if you want it to last till spring. Could you order in 2 sizes and then assess when you try them for fit? Justb think the 6-12 month sizing is very much more geared to 6 month end, and the last thing you want is just to get a few months wear when you're shelling out the £££
LIGHTNING! Wow think you'll be in new house before us! We've had survey done last week, so waiting for report. Should then get a completion date and (fingers crossed) be in by end of October. Starting to have those anxiety dreams about moving boxes etc...Will be so pleased to get into a bigger house though, despite the fact that it will be cold and in need of tlc!
GYO, don't feel guilty! It's really good to get them prepared for nursery, and you will feel better on your first day back knowing that things are settled. I do know how you are feeling though, having gone through it 3 times myself, but it does get a bit easier and dare I say in a few months you will positively enjoy a bit of time on your own
Hi MOOSY! remind me where you're up to in the pregnancy? Are you next after STT and IDOB? In fact are you our last pregnant wagoner (for now??) Many apologies if I've dropped a major clanger and missed someone out!
Quietish day here. Friend has been and gone with her LO, and need to get some housework done. Child minder still away so getting dds from school then heading to a cafe with them and the dreaded PO (not poo ) Doing quite well on e-bay at the moment but the packing up and sending of parcels is a pain!

Hi guys,

for 'woe is me' post this morning - as you can tell, I wasn't feeling the best! Have been for a scan and the sonographer was really lovely - one of the nicest I've seen actually. DH couldn't come with me (which I thought was for the best actually, given my mood at the moment, I don't want to make things any worse and time spent apart is time spent cooling down at the moment).

So, baby's head is lower today, at least, it was by the time I got to the hospital, I had a suspicion it might have dropped after my shower as walking down the stairs I had some pains in my pelvis. Its back is to the left, head is down low, so no pictures, although she's sure LO has got some hair! Size wise, and I know there's a huge range from their estimates in terms of accuracy, but their machine is only predicting a current weight of 7lb 1oz, which is way smaller than DS at 8lb at term! So, even if she's a bit out, at least its not forecasting huge at this stage - which makes me feel better.

So, still quite tearful, but definately a bit more positive, and just sitting on my birthball, going round and round in circles, wondering what to do with myself.

My midwife gave me the number of a reflexologist, for inducing labour, what do you guys reckon? Worth a go?

Hi! Feeling much better today after headache developed into upset stomach as well yesterday. All fine now though

IDOB - thinking of you and hoping for a nice quick and easy induction

STT - I agree with idea of nice pampering bath. Wish I could actually do something to help but feel free to vent on here whenever you need.

Lightning - good to hear from you. Your move sounds exciting. Good luck!

Diege - wow! J is long! Tried to measure O and think he's 68cm. He has a big head though and won't fit 6-12 month hat I got him! Need to get 1-2yr!!

O is currently having a nap
in his cot
it's been 40 mins
I've still not managed to break the feed to sleep thing though but small steps and all that!

STT - I'm so glad things sound like they're progressing. Personally I would try the reflexology. It can't do any harm and you never know if you book an appointment, sods law may mean lo comes and you won't need it!

Report
Diege · 12/10/2009 13:01

I agree with SES STT, try the reflexology, then if you do still need to be induced at least you won't have the 'what ifs' to contend with, knowing you did absolutely everything possible. Good news about the scan, seems all is great, though my sonographer did say they could be out by 2Ibs either way with late scans On a positive note they don't tend to be a lot bigger than the predicted weight, more a case of them overestimating...
SES, glad you're feeling better, and lol at the bulletins about O's sleep routine You're right, it really is all about small steps at this stage. O sounds like he's thriving anyway. Yes J is long, well off the percentile chart for height which is odd as dds were always on 25th for height and me and dh aren't exactly tall!
Oh I am sooo tired and am very tempted by the nutella jar...I must resist though as, after losing a stone the jeans are getting a little tight again

Am back again (Can you tell I have reached a lull in packing - think it's kind of a "If I see one more sodding box I am going to crawl in it and die" sort of lull! - I've been packing for weeks, there is still so much more to pack, DH took 27 boxes over to the new house, and he's taken two of his big work van loads to the tip, I reckon we're not even half way yet No wonder we need to move!)

Diege, I'm not dreaming about the house as such, but am having the oddest dreams, some I remember and some not quite IYKWIM, quite par for the course with me when something big is going on! e.g. DH woke me up on Saturday, (t'was deffo the morning after the night before!) apparently I said to him "So what's this about these cardigans?" DH looked a bit like , I said "these special cardi's they need to wear to build this house?" DH looked a lot like and childishly giggled about it all sodding day

Looks like things are going well with your move anyway! There have been loads of 'sold' signs going up everywhere, looks like it's all turning around PDQ!

STT, you sound a bit more erm.... together now, there are going to be times of panic/worry/sheer and utter fed up-ness! At least the scan was positive and as I said each hour is an hour closer. And I agree with the others, and have actually heard some quite positive stories about reflexology working

Ses, nice quiet cup of tea? Was the best bit about only having one, you actually could have a quiet cuppa while they slept.

Mikey hasn't stopped eating and sleeping today! He didn't wake up till gone 10, he had a weetabix and some grapes, then his 8oz bottle, then about 11.30 he had two thirds of a banana (DS2 shovelled it in shared it with him ) and he had 3oz of water, then at 12.30 he had a slice of bread with cheese and marmite on, and a sneaky biscuit (t'was an all organic mostly apple oaty type biscuit though!) and another 8oz bottle, now he's asleep again! Think I'm going to be changing a big nasty horrible nappy later! Think a lot of it's his teeth TBH, he has four now, two bottom two top, but the next ones are starting to come through, you can just about see a white lump either side. Eating must help the pain! How can he physically fit it all in though?

Speaking of food though, am about to hunt something out and feed me, don'think i've had anything yet, belly is rumbling!

Hello Lightning, nice to hear from you and it sounds like things are going well with your house(s), I can't wait till we move although it probably won't be until the spring and we'll be going in to a building site, but at least it will be a big building site

Diege, I'm 32 weeks now! And yes I think I am the last one, BB was slightly ahead of me but hasn't been back for ages so I guess the last one [eek]. Finally got round to sending payment for the cardigan today, can't remember exactly what we'd agreed so tell me if I've got it wrong!

We've all had a stinking cold for the last few days apart from DD1 who had it for 1 hour on wednesday morning and instantly got over it. DD2 hasn't been too bad, just really really snotty, DH has been quite bad but I've had it worst (of course!). And not being able to take proper drugs or lie on my front/back hasn't helped either, but I'm finally feeling a bit more alive today, hooray!

Last weekend was good though, we went to a ball for the local school and got all dressed up posh (the first time I've atually worn heels since our wedding 7 years ago!) and it was really good fun despite me being the only sober one there. As you can see from the FB photos DH got very drunk, but at least that provided good entertainment for me

Blimey - good afternoon everyone, I've been asleep since 12! No wonder I was an over emotional wreck this morning.

I've just booked a reflexology appt. for tomorrow afternoon, she said to look at it as a relaxation session, nothing more, coz she can't guarantee anything - and that's cool, that's what the MW said too, and judging by my behaviour this morning, a relaxation session is probably just what is needed!

Lightning, can't believe how much stuff you seem to have - I know you felt you were bulging out of your house, but it looked great when I came up! You'll be in designer minimalist heaven when you move to a bigger place

Moosy, sorry to hear about your colds, although have to wonder what you've been feeding DD2 on that her immune system is so robust! The ball sounds like fun too, I'll go nosy at the photos in a bit, instead of obsessively trying to find ways to start labour!

Diege, J is very long isn't he! You know you'll be getting loads of jokes about the milkman if he doesn't slow down

Ses - wish there was something anyone could do! My friend keeps looking things up for me and is desperate for me to have the baby so that I can be sane again - hoping to go there for tea tonight, at least if DH and I are there it will minimise chances of more grumpiness from me later... She's a very good friend that I've only made relatively recently - last year or so - and feel very lucky, not had a really good female friend before - apart from you lot of course

GYo, you have no idea how much I'd like a real wagon brownie at the moment! I used to make them all the time, but my oven's broken and burns the top on everything these days - so I've stopped trying!

Well, I've got tesco's delivering in the morning and a reflexology appt. in the afternoon - so hopefully that's enough to jinx me into having the baby!

Hope we hear from IDOB soon, have been thinking of her lots these last few days - its amazing how you think you know how someone will be feeling, until you go through something similar yourself, and the realisation and empathy just grows immensely.
