Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ninah · 20/06/2005 16:24

After. Was complacent - didn't expect this to happen at all! But v bad preg, v sick and ill, losing weight, feeling dreadful, awful moods swings. Do you feel almost guilty to celebrate bump cos of the one you lost? Cos please don't.

sweetheart · 20/06/2005 16:29

Sounds like you have good signs for staying positive this time round thank goodness ninah.

I haven't really allowed myself to celebrate this one yet - I'm waiting for the all clear first before I think that this one is for keeps. Although I don't think it would really help either way if we lost this one too.

The thing I do feel bad about is bringing this thread down - especially for all the 1st time mums on here - I was so blissfully ignorant with my dd!!!!

ninah · 20/06/2005 16:39

You are not bringing it down. You are sharing what you are feeling and if we can't be honest on here, where can we! yes, ignorance is bliss where mc is concerned, but we can feel happy for ourselves and support others, and vice versa, isn't that what mn is about or shall I look up the philosophy
Let's do as you suggest and focus on a date where you can say, OK, all is well, now I can believe in this. It's a bit of a fiction, cos who knows what's around the corner, as I said for me this turning point was the scan, but logically anything could still go wrong at any time, only we can't live thinking like that so focussing on a date for your own personal all-clear is the way to go, and I'm gonna be there celebrating wildly for you!

sweetheart · 20/06/2005 16:45

lol Thanks ninah!!!

I know what you mean - some friends of ours lost a dd at 28 weeks. It was the mothers 3rd child and they couldn't find anything wrong. Dh keeps saying we are never out of the woods until your holding the baby - but I don't like to think that way.

You have to weigh up the odds I think. We have a 90% chance everything OK and if we get the all clear on the 6th it will go up to 99% and I will be extatic - there are several other outcomes we could get but I'll cross that bridge if and when I have to!!!

Thankyou for listening to me babble this afternoon - it means alot to me

ninah · 20/06/2005 16:49

that's my pleasure. I just want you to enjoy it and have a happy summer, like I have suddenly and unexpectedly started to do! hopefully after 6th you will.
Have you decided what to wear at Henley?

OP posts:
sweetheart · 20/06/2005 16:51

pmsl - oh the baine of my life - the Henly issue

I have no idea what to wear - and I'm dreading it!!! It's not really "my sort of thing"!!!!

I was thinking of going with a black knee lenght wrap dress - that way I'll be comfy. Only trouble is I don't think it will be posh enough!!! What do you think???

sweetheart · 20/06/2005 16:51

Oh and if it's this hot I'll be bloosy boiling in it!!!

ninah · 20/06/2005 16:55

sounds lovely to me
Add some bling and you'll be belle of the ball
The only dress I have that may fit is green, I loved it last pregnancy until someone told me I looked like a marrow grrr
I'm certainly not going to buy one, now it's so hot I'm going for comfort all the way

OP posts:
sweetheart · 20/06/2005 16:57

lol - marrow. How dare they, I'm sure you looked beautiful - and you liked it, thats the main thing!!!!

Right well I'm off home now - ohhhh air con in my car YEAH!!!!!!

Perhaps I'll have to go shopping tomorrow for some accessories!!!

Night everyone!!!

ninah · 20/06/2005 16:58

Eating, drinking and looking at art, people watching, music - that's everyone's thing, no? You'll like it, PROMISE.

afternoon ladies.
s/h i bet that is indeed movement you felt. i feel quite earlier, guess the more you have the more you 'trust' it really is it iyswim, dont forget all depends on where the placenta is.with dd2 mine was at the front so muffling the movements more, with this one the placenta was growing at the top/back so should be really soon now. its very exciting dont you think? before they get too big in there and kick hell outa your ribs!
I'm really not doing well in the heat, normally so ahppy to sit out in it now crawling round trying to find shade and getting crankier....

love the idea of getting past our own panic dates and then celebrating, as you guys said, so much could still go wrong but we cant think like that anymore.the stress nearly killed me first trimester! i think i am going to buy something for the baby this week, as a mark of believing this will go on. not to mention something for me to bloody wear!!
have drawstring shorts now cant do up, so maybe need maternity ones. someone gave me a pair of next cropped maternity trousers supposedly my size and OMG! they are massive all over.you could hold a party in them! then remembered from before that often next maternity is huge. so sigh, clothes driving me potty here.

Bonkerz · 20/06/2005 17:55

Hi all, Well am just being sick once a day now, also bought some water with added calcium and have decided to stop worriying about my intake. Managed to eat 4 minimilks yesterday so im sure im fine!
My 'panic date' is friday and im excited and nervous about my scan, just want it to be here and over with.
I think thats its a positive thing that we can all talk about our past mc, they were my babies too and its bittersweet for me. Sometimes it hurts so much and other times i can be strong and say that they happened so i could have this baby IYKWIM. I also find it a comfort that alot of us on here have experienced the same emotions and are experiancing the same emotions now because i dont feel like a neurotic pregnant lady when i talk to you guys!!
Th heat is really wiping me out, not sleeping too good and have a viscious circle of drinking loads and weeing loads which is leaving me even more thirsty!!!

dramaqueen72 · 20/06/2005 17:59

if its any consolation bonkerz, tho i am managing to eat fairly well, i am usually sick after any tablets so havent had anything for weeks. my midwife is not the least concerned. water with calcium sounds great idea, I've kept half an eye open for it but not seen any yet. its liquids i have trouble with, too much and i feel sick. but sure am not drinking enough...sigh!!
my sickness has changed - no more throwing up, but still waves of nausea esp PM.
will keep fingers crossed for you on friday then. hope all is well for you. be fabulous to get another panic date out of the way

Bonkerz · 20/06/2005 18:02

I bought EVIAN water cos when i looked at the composition it was the one with the most calcium, almost twice every brand!!

dramaqueen72 · 20/06/2005 18:07

what -just ordinary evian?

Bonkerz · 20/06/2005 18:10

Yep just ordinary evian. Its made by danone and im sure they were the people who introduced the calcium in water but i couldnt find danone so think they have discontinued it and are selling it as evian!!!

Bonkerz · 20/06/2005 18:11

evian has (and it dont mean much to me, just numbers)

78 mg per litre and other waters had max of 32 mg per litre

dramaqueen72 · 20/06/2005 18:11

right thankyou bonkerz, will try that then. expensive evian baby!

Bonkerz · 20/06/2005 18:14

Dh commented on the price too!! I just replied "we are worth it" and flicked my hair at him!! Now its just making sure i drink more than i wee!!!!!!

Nemo1977 · 20/06/2005 18:47
