Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lizzie9442 · 16/10/2009 12:30

hi everyone, sorry for the ones that have had to leave. Its so horrible I know and good luck with future pregnancies.

Well I am 12 weeks today by my lmp. I have my scan on monday and I am so nervous about it. Out of my 4 mc 2 of them were mmc. I am still feeling really sick though and still have no energy, Just hoping to see a little baby on monday, after that hopefully my sickness will ease off as its been so hard to keep doing the usual day to day things.

good luck to everyone else who has a scan coming up xx

LotusPalm · 16/10/2009 12:40

HI Suey - elective CS's are done between 1 and 2 weeks before due date i think, so that baby doesn't engage. Maybe towards the 2 week mark for 2nd pregnancies?

I'm quite excited about being more pregnant than i thought, simply because it brings 12 weeks closer (tomorrow!)- but i also charted so was pretty positive that i ovulated on the 11th of August, but the wedding might have messed my temps up a little and it is possible that i ovulated on the 8th instead (temp drop on the 7th, raised the following day but then levelled and dropped again), and it would make more sense in terms with the way everything has progressed (i got clear symptoms 5 days early, a really strong + HPT 3 days early based on LMP, etc etc)

When did you deliver last time? Was it in any way related to the dating scan or your LMP?

Now that this pregnancy is starting to look more viable (i'm very cautious) my mind is turning to the actual delivery rather more - and i'm terrified! i'm worried about how i will cope with the pain, i'm horrified at the idea of tearing or forceps etc. I'm also worried about how DH will deal with the delivery - he is an amazingly supportive man, and is so good at taking up the slack when i'm not well(etc etc) but he doesn't deal with me being in pain very well - he hated it when i had ms and was hugging the toilet 4 times a day so how on earth will he
cope with me in screaming, shouting agony?
I'd opt for an elective CS in a second but we cannot justify the spend, particuarly as DH is going to take a sabbatical at the end of next year and we will go 'travelling' - we have family / friends in NZ / Oz / SA / California and plan to go and visit and take advantage of peoples hospitality. (i'm sure you'll all think we're nuts going off with a 7 month old around the world, but we'd like to spend time as a family and it's our last chance to do this until the kids grow up!)

What do i do!

Yorky · 16/10/2009 12:48

LP I don't think you're nuts - I'm massively jealous. My parents went o NZ for Christmas last year as their friends' daughter was getting married and I so wanted to go but DD was 5wks old and DS 23 mo. I would have taken her on a plane in a second but a nearly 2yr old - not on your life!
Have a fantastic time!

Don't worry about the birth, I enjoyed both of mine!

pamelat · 16/10/2009 12:51

Hi all.

I think I am 10 weeks plus 2 days.

I have put half a stone on Lots of food as otherwise feel sick.

Also, not had the energy for the gym, just swimming a couple of times a week. I guess it hardly matters.

Some days, I am terrified. DD is 21 months and I cant imagine having 2 to look after!! I appreciate some of you have lots more than that but you are obviously wonderful

During maternity leave, I hope to keep DD at nursery 3 days, so only 2 solo days with a toddler and baby. Should be a doddle?!!

I am sleeping a lot. Usually 10 hours at night and on my days "off" an hour at lunch.

DD seems to understand as she now says "careful mummys tummy, baby" before jumping on it

Its so different to being pregnant with DD. I was not only much poorlier but it was constantly on my mind, whereas I keep forgetting I am pregnant now

suey2 · 16/10/2009 13:10

thanks lotus/ ml.

We've always travelled with dd: the worst time for us was when she was around 1 year: mobile and wanting to run around, but no interest in telly, books etc. 7 months should be absolutely fine. She is much better again now, since I have bought her an i-pod touch with loads of pre school programmes and some videos: i'll make sure she has some new ones when we go to the maldives in december. She is also really into sticker books, too: especially the usborne fairy tale ones.

Thanks Suey & Yorky - it's reassuring to know that people with children think it's possible too! I think the thing that sends some of the people we discuss our plans with reeling is the fact that we will be away for 3+ months, hopefully more, but depends on funds and how long DH will get sabbatical for. He has said that he'll leave if they dont give it to him, and as i will be the one going back to work full time anyway (bread winner - dammit!)then he'll stay at home and look after the lit'ler. Hopefully it should all be ok though as his company are very flexible - so plan is 3/4 months away then home and DH will go part time when i go back to work...

LuckyC · 16/10/2009 15:22

pamelat I am so impressed that you are still swimming twice a week. I have barely been able to drag self off sofa. I have actually LOST weight which is slightly worrying me. But that's cos of MS, and I am a fairly chunky girl so can stand some weight loss. Well that's what I am telling myself. Hope OK. Anyone else lost weight?

Roll on the 28th. Getting very concerned about the scan now, it'll be a massive relief. Good luck for Monday Lizzie + let us know how you get on!

Kazmog · 16/10/2009 16:45

Hi Pamelat - I have also lost some weight due to MS - and think not eating rich foods or drinking!

I have my scan on the 31st so hopefully will find out from the MW if my weight is ok.

Have not been able to do any exercise - but keep on promising myself I will!

suey2 · 16/10/2009 17:15

well, a much more exciting scan! my wee broad bean is now 2.25cm crown to rump and heart rate up to 180 bpm. And my due date has stayed the same, although I will likely be early with the CS. nuchal scan 3.5 weeks away: seems an age!

pigleychez · 16/10/2009 17:19

last time I lost abit of weight in the first trimester as I was off my dinners. Poor DH would make a lovely dinner and I could only manage a few mouthfuls. He would finish mine off as well as his so he ended up looking more pregnant than me!!
Doesnt seem to be happening this time.

I too keep forgetting im pregnant. My niece has just got Chickenpox and we were due to see them Sunday. I was saying its fine we will still come, I dont mind if DD gets it... shes going to at some point anyway untill mum said shed rather we didnt cause of baby id forgotten!

Jennylee- Have you changed your name? Purple Jenny? I was on the July thread last year too.

pigleychez · 16/10/2009 17:19

suey - cross post... on the good scan!

LolaAnn · 16/10/2009 17:21

Yay suey2 good news on the scan :D
ahh I am so jealous of all these scans!! Can't wait till mine on wednesday. Woke up this morning and spent a good 5 mins admiring my boobs in the mirror haha (have always been completely flat - novelty!!)

fingers crossed for sticky babes for everyone

suey2 · 16/10/2009 17:21

i've put on 2.5 lb: lack of booze more than offset by stuffing my face so's not to feel sick.

My mate who's 11 weeks has lost a stone due to hyperemesis

Hi everyone

All this talk of travelling and honeymoons and trips is so exciting. Totally agree that under 1s are so easy to travel with.

I find it so hard to keep up with this thread, hopefully will get to know you better soon.

sweetkitty · 16/10/2009 17:56

I got weighed this morning and have put on half a stone don't know why though, probably from the rubbish I have been eating, stomach does look very bloated.

Booking in appt lasted 1h 20m, she covered everything, said I would like another HB but she is concerned about PPH as I had quite a bit of blood loss last time and got quite anaemic but apart from that birth was straightforward, and because it is no4 it puts you at greater risk. Only things that have changed is I had to blow into a CO detector thing and we now get £190 health in pregnancy grant after 25 weeks left with a bundle of leaflets and info.

Suey - glad your scan went well

Jennylee - thinking the same thing, have you name changed? theres 3 of us July 08 ladies on here

lotuspalm - I know the delivery seems scary and TBH I am not looking forward to it and it's not pleasant but it's also the best moment of your life when you see you baby, you WILL get through it fine. A csection is not an easy choice, the recovery from a csection can be difficult as I am sure some of the ladies on ehre will testify.

Anyway dinner ready (queasy emoticon) anyone else truly sick of feling sick, am so fed up with it now

Hollyoaks · 16/10/2009 18:16

I'm sick of feeling sick but excited at the new halloween emoticons

Jennylee · 16/10/2009 18:26

I had this name and probably a christmas themed one for a bit, but I stopped posting after had the baby so was a long time ago in mn time. 3 of us lol goodness

memorylapse · 16/10/2009 18:26

oooh halloween emoticons..likey!

sweetkitty · 16/10/2009 18:40

jennylee - you make 4 theres also one on the Due in April thread (who blames me ) and one that has already had no 2

memorylapse · 16/10/2009 18:48

Ive just been reading my posts abouts dd2's developement on the july/aug 04 thread..seems like an age away now she is 5..I read some of them out to her and she thought it was hilarious!

sweetkitty · 16/10/2009 19:24

memorylapse, DD1 was a July/August 04 baby too, 20th July (she was 2 weeks early) Xmas Grin I have had 2 since then what about you?

memorylapse · 16/10/2009 19:31

sweetkitty..I remember you from the thread..I had a different name then

dd2 was baby number 4..but she is the youngest, the older ones are 18,15, and 8.

I had 2 more pregnancies but they both ended in late miscarriage..hence my fears..finally came back on MN to find I couldnt remember my log in details!..hence re registering with the name memorylapse..

memorylapse · 16/10/2009 19:32

by the way dd2 was born on the 20th July!

pamelat · 16/10/2009 19:50

Can I just selfishly say that for the first time ever my DD has behaved like an angel today. She is 21 months and am kidding myself hoping that maybe things get easier from 21 months and she'll help me when DC2 arrives?!
