Thanks for all the messages of support. I think we all need some extra TLC at the moment.

I have been to bed but woke up after an hourThis could be a long night.

BOOB great that you were out for a walk and I know what you mean about missing the bump but at the moment I would like to choose breathing easily, not having to go to the loo all the time and not feeling like I am going to burst !!!!This too is our last (I have said this every time but 4 was my number ! what was I thinking !!!!)Oh and did I mention being able to pick things up off the floor and wear shoes other than fit flops!!!sorry moan moan moan.

I eventually went to DH and said that arguing was stupid and pointless and that we needed to move on and realise that we were both feeling terrible.for the sake of the children we had to get over it and love each other. It has helped but we are both exhausted and wounded.

Do BHs actually do anything? I am off to google them.I hope you all sleep well. x

Hi all

Lovely pictures boob and well done! I hope the memory of the birth is fading. It's all getting so exciting, even though it's becoming such hard work for us all. Welcome too to the lurkers.

Am really looking forward to hearing all about the next arrival.

Been away to visit ILs, so spent a lovely weekend being looked after. Needed it, as was feeling bit stressed. On Thursday night I fell flat on my face (running for the bus, very stupid of me) and I hit my bump. I also really bruised my wrist where I put out my arm to break my fall and was very shaken.

Had a MW appt the next day and mentioned it, but all seemed ok, no contractions, leaking, baby's HB all good. They insisted on scanning me just to make sure. I enjoyed seeing the LO again. Everything is fine, baby is in good position but not engaged yet.

This is my last week at work then on mat leave - I have so much to do still!

Hackneybird Glad you and baby are ok after your fall. Must have been lovely to see your baby again, i hope your wrist heals quickly.

I decided to do our Asda ahop online last night as i had a £10 off voucher e-mailed to me and can't actually really face food shopping at the moment. It's arriving this morning and doing it online has saved us £30 and i managed to shop around planed meals, so hopefully less food will get wasted, and we wont get to the end of the week and be living off of scraps!

DS has a cold, It didn't seem so bad over the weekend but he has been sick this morning. So the baby can't come until he's better. I really don't want a newborn with a cold!

Devils love your list, I too missed my bump after having ds, but this time the novelty of having a bump has worn thin very quickly. No doubt i will have the empty feeling once its gone though.

Sammysam I am suffering from heartburn again too but only when i'm lying in bed. V. annoying!

fidelma I'm with you with the shoes and bending down, can't wait to have my normal feet back!

38 weeks today.

Hi everyone, sorry to hear that the hormones are raging! Haven't had a fight with DH but did have a big cry on him the other night that he's not making a fuss over the bump like he did with DD. He used to talk to it alot and feel for kicks etc, but I feel like he's not bothered with this one. Add to that that I feel guilty that I've not been bonding with this bump as much either. I would love to have more children but think we may have to stop at 2 for now. I'm very conscious that this could be the last time I'm pg and want to make the most of the last few weeks coz I know I will miss it.

I've got it in my head that the baby won't come til I'm sorted too. Got my music sorted. Managed to get a fair amount done yesterday so need to make my own list of remaining jobs.

Don't know if this makes sense but I really don't feel ready and am caught up between that and wanting the baby to come early to avoid the problems with this allegedly "big baby".

I think the jury is out on BH, some say they do work but I had a couple of weeks of them last time and still ended up with emcs for failure to progress. sorry!

Morning all

Far too much to catch up with My cold is much better so feel more up to giving birth now-phewee! Sorry to those just coming down with one, it is horrible isn't it?

devils-TMI too but me and DH managed the deed last night but paid for it as I think it must have caused the contractions I had every 8-10 minutes until 4am when they stopped.

Got my Avent breast pump out yesterday but the silly motor only works when it feels like it. Can't afford a new one so may have to bid on a 2nd hand one on Ebay just to get the motor.

DH still umming and aahing about the name but I still don't know if he is being serious but everytime he mentions it my hormones kick in and I cry. Nothing else seems to be ready so I at least wanted a name sorted.

Nausea and heartburn bad here too so now stuffing some crackers and cheese. Sorry for the me, me, me post oh, and hello to any newbies-you are all most welcome.

Hope Madison is OK theboob and that you are recovering nicely 1 week later.

Doing the list again as my due date seems to have changed:

trying to appreciate bump but feel so breathless and lightheaded, can't help but think about when the baby is in my arms instead of my rib cage!

i also had a bit of a show today

(i think)

HumphreysCorner · 21/09/2009 11:49

devils-, a show? I keep scrutinising the toilet paper for signs.

HappyTangerine · 21/09/2009 12:15

Hackneybird so glad you're ok, that sounds like a nasty fall

devils-ooh, show sounds promising, keeping fingers crossed for you. What you said about ticking off things on list makes a lot of sense-I made one at 3am this morning and am going to work my way through this week

boob-you sound like you're doing really well, I bet it was lovely to be out in the sunshine with Madison

littlepea-thanks, haven't heard or seen SIL since, DH is being v protective and keeping her well away so she doesn't annoy me

jules welcome

Odd morning. Couldn't sleep again all night so made butternut squash and celery soup for DH to take to work, some vegan cupcakes and painted an internal door. Got to bed at 4.50am and got up at 8. Saw midwife first thing, all fine but baby not moved from 4/5
engaged so she recommended I start on the rasberry leaf tea. Within an hour of leaving surgery this morning, I was coughing like mad and am now lying on sofa because suddenly all thr strength has gone from me. Have diarrhoea and the headache from hell now and neighbour has resumed his woodwork/ark building so lots of lovely hammering from next door. DH threw a duvet over me when I started shivering and I'm feeling a bit better now but so tired. Quickest onset of a cold and sore throat I've ever seen, most odd. I predict a day of lounging about...

plimple · 21/09/2009 12:15

Humphreys - My DP won't even talk about the name since we don't know the sex. Looks like I'll have to do my own short list for both to present when it arrives.

rubyslippers · 21/09/2009 12:32

woo hoo devils - with DS1, i went into labour a couple of days afetr my show. Fingers crossed for you

hackney - glad you are ok after your fall, but how scary

happytangerine - sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope it passes quickly for you

humphrey - DH and i are still argiung about names. We have 2 shortlists as well, and DH slashed mine

hi to all the newbies and lurkers and sorry if i have missed any personals

I have been to the MW this morning - measuring 36 weeks at 38 weeks, baby back to back but still head down and 3 - 4/5ths engaged which is good!

Reflexology on wednesday but will be bouncing on the birth ball this afternoon (38 weeks today)

x

smallone · 21/09/2009 12:52

OOh first show of the thread, a good sign. I'm doing alot of loo paper checking too, I keep getting cervixy pains, like being stabbed with a knitting needle, so I'm convinced it must be doing something.

IME arguing about names will only set DH against names more. With the last one he didnt like dds name until she was born and I said we're calling her x and after seeing me go through all that labour/cs he couldn't disagree!

ruby get on your hands and knees now! I know its a PITA when you just want to get comfy but believe me, as someone who has been there - done that, you do not want a back to back labour! Might even be worth trying to dis-engage a bit so they have more room to turn. I'll be sending spinny vibes to you

Looks like I'm one of the last and will be watching the rest of you slowly leave the group and move on to the next stage while I still feel fat and uncomfortable

Had a horrible scare last night, hadn't felt the lo move all day so called the midwife, did the hot bath and and cold drink trick and nothing, so drove to the hospital to be monitored, the nurse straps on the various bits and nothing..... then laughs as she had forgot to plug it into the machine (I do find it slightly funny now, but at the time my OH and I just started at each other, thinking the worst) thankfully her heart beat was strong and after about 45 minutes she started moving about (I think she just figured it was a Sunday so would chill out). So a massive sigh of relief.

NewbeeMummy · 21/09/2009 15:24

But the good news - this is my last week at work

littlepea72 · 21/09/2009 15:54

Newbee at this stage, that had to be scarey!

Princessmel, any sign off those bunkbeds yet?

My back is killing me today, need to stand up again. Hope everyone else is ok...

devilsadvocaat · 21/09/2009 15:56

gosh newbee, how scary for you.

lol at ht's ark building neighbour

hackneybird sorry to hear of your fall, glad you're ok.

was surprised at how hard i found the walk to and from the shops today. was about an hour round trip and on the way home i actually thought i wasn't going to make it. luckily i bought a 100g bar of choc and scoffed THE WHOLE BLOODY LOT on the way home! undoing all my good work. my back is really sore now and i still had the washing to put out and a home delivery shop to put away when i got home. gah. tyring to do too much at once.

theboob how are things with madison? fill us in on yummy baby things please, you never know it may make something click in our cervixes minds.

NewbeeMummy · 21/09/2009 16:29

Thanks all, wasn't my best weekend, but did allow us to do a dry run, was very surprised how quickly the OH got us to the hospital.

Hope you're all well and looking after yourselves

theboob · 21/09/2009 16:59

hello everyone
everything is going great with madison at the moment, today was my first day back on the school run and i'm a little tired , she is currently curled up on my chest after a big milky feed
yeah on first show of the thread......will someone please pop so i'm not all alone

Treats · 21/09/2009 17:48

hackneybird - sorry to hear about your fall - glad it wasn't anything serious and hope your wrist feels better soon.

happytangerine - such a pain that you've caught a cold - hope it clears up soon and that your neighbour gives whatever he's doing a rest for a bit.

devils - how exciting about your show!! Another obsessive loo paper-checker here....

newbeemummy - pleased to hear that your baby is fine after your scare. Must have been nice to see it again!

theboob - good to hear from you! Glad that Madison is thriving and you're able to breastfeed. Sounds like you've made a speedy recovery if you're already back on the school run!!

I'm itching to join you. I'm with fidelma in getting generally hacked off with not being able to breathe/ sleep/ walk/ pick things off the ground. Afraid to say that I can't really relate to your missing your bump at the moment.........

LittleMissBliss · 21/09/2009 19:20

Love how the thread has got so busy recently!

I was just wondering sorry if TMI-

Is anyone getting really heavy discharge, it's not thick but watery. Enough to wet my knickers quite a bit, It's def not urine a sit doesn't smell. The MW checked (with a torch haha, luckily i lost all my dignity at ds's birth[) lots of coughing and nothing is leaking so not my waters. I didn't get this last time so am not sure if it's normal..?

OOOh a show! We may have another baby by say Wednesday or even sooner! Someone has to go soon.....!

rubyslippers · 21/09/2009 19:35

littlemiss - i am the same with the discharge

just one of the joys of PG

been on the birthing ball for a while ....

devilsadvocaat · 21/09/2009 19:52

i heard you can have a show a while before babs comes so i'm not getting my hopes up!

MrsHappy · 21/09/2009 20:10

Hi everyone

I haven't posted since I don't know when - April maybe!

I am now 35+4 and feeling giant. DD gave me a cold a few weeks ago. It took her 3 days to get better and I am still sniffing and coughing 3 weeks on. DH gets banished to the spare room with alarming regularity and I really want to meet this baby now!

Congratulations theboob - I saw your birth announcement and it sounds like you had a pretty torrid time but yay that Madison is here safe and well.

Happytangerine I hate to deliver an internet diagnosis, but I think that sounds less like a cold and more flu-ey (the quick onset, cough and shivering especially). I hope you are feeling better soon, but do keep an eye on your temperature and drink lots of fluids.

This pregnancy has been pretty nice for me other than the cold. With my DD I was a heartburny, high blood pressured wreck and this time things are much better (bar the very slow guts...). I only hope that the birth is just as different from last time - really quick and no CS would be excellent please!

I've added my details to the list- I hope noone minds.

Hello

I have a cold Have felt rough all weekend. Horrible sore throat and no energy. I had a sleep in the day today (I never sleep in the day) as my friend collected dd for me from nursery.

Also I feel different. Keep getting different aches and have a achey feeling down below. I had that a lot earlier with dd. I am wondering if this baby has started to engage. I'll find out at the MW on thursday.

I am also having a lot of dishcharge. It's been like this for weeks. I had to put a third pair of knickers on by 3pm today.

HB sorry about the fall, must have been very scary for you

DA ooh a show! I am convinced I will have one this time, never had one before. There is so much stuff coming out of me already that it seems obvious that I will have a show. Surely!!

HT I hope you are sleeping at other times if you are awake so much at night...

bunkbeds Yes they came last monday! Then I had a weeks worth of waiting in for mattreses to be delivered. Kids have been sharing for a week. Going down fine, but waking too early...ds has a habit of needing the loo very early ,sometimes at quarter to 6, then of course dd is now awake...

Hope everyone else is ok
Sorry if I've missed people.

littlepea72 · 22/09/2009 06:33

Busy busy day today, i have a nurse appointment, then a doctors appointment, then off to the hospital for another scan, internal exam, and then put onto machine to check for contractions. 2 weeks ago the hospital told me the baby was 7lb, so a bit scared about the size today!

Got stuck in the bath last night! I just couldnt get back out again and my DH had his earphones in watching a film! Also found it really hard to shave my legs as for my b-line....well, it just didnt happen, has anyone found a way of getting this done????
