Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KleineMaus · 02/10/2009 21:51

I need to go back and catch up on everything I've missed but just wanted to come on and report that baby Magnus was born on Wednesday afternoon!

Saw my midwife on Wednesday morning at 10. She really depressed me by frowning at my bump and muttering about how she would have expected the baby to be further down by now and even suggested it could be breech! I went away thinking it was obviously going to be ages before the baby came. 10 minutes after arriving home my waters broke. That was 11.15. Got to the hospital at 1 to discover I was already 5 centimetres dilated. DS2 was born at 3.40. The only word that describes things is 'intense'. I can't believe I had DS1 with only a paracetamol. This time I was completely out of it on gas and air. I actually gave birth leaning over the back of the bed and don't think I could have moved so I'm glad they were happy with that. No stitches this time - hooray! He weighed 7 pounds 5oz.

Got home this afternoon. It's actually great to be back, so far. Magnus is a dream, I could just eat him. I'm really conscious that he's probably our last and I need to enjoy every moment of him. So far the only problem is that I have to wake him for every feed otherwise he'd go for hours. That won't last of course. He looks so like DS1 that it's like some weird deja vu, especially as he's wearing DS1's old clothes.

Looking forward to catching up on everyone else's news.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 02/10/2009 22:07

Congratulations KleineMaus and Magnus.

Well done you!

HumphreysCorner · 02/10/2009 22:31

Congratulations KleineMaus on the birth of baby Magnus. Well done.

HalfMum-shame they aren't allowed to cancel those evil tickets.

Meant to say, the MW who delivered Matthew who also delivered DD2 told me they won't provide formula milk and they have installed tables to put a steriliser on.

Looking forward to more news.

I can't keep up with everything that's goings on here all of a sudden!

Good luck HT and Ruby, I hope all goes smoothly! Thanks for letting us know about your thread Lulumama - I'll go and have a look at that straight away!

I like your comment about performing your own sweep Sugarkane, let us know how you get on

Pleased to hear you've had a better day Littlepea and got the apologies you deserved.

Poor you HalfMumHalfBiscuit - that's a bit unfair that he still gave you the ticket for only 10 mins under the circumstances.

Congratulations KleineMaus, it's great that Magnus is sleeping so well at the moment. Thanks to you and HC for your birth stories - there have been quite a few quick arrivals on here - that's good to know

Mossop · 02/10/2009 22:42

Gorgeous photos LittleMissBliss

Mossop · 02/10/2009 22:52

Oooh, exciting! If any of you are around, you should check out Lulumama's thread

HappyTangerine · 03/10/2009 01:18

Congratulations and well done Kleinemaus and Ruby (I saw Lulu's thread)

Well, I'm still here . Contractions got to 9-10 mins apart and then just suddenly stopped at 11pm. Feel very deflated, tired and totally hacked off.

jules888 · 03/10/2009 07:06

Congratulations to Kleinemaus and Ruby, awake all night - storms, back pain and BH so knackered now.

Hoping DS1 will let me rest whilst he watches DVDs

Good Luck to everyone still waiting for their arrivals!

peachespaige · 03/10/2009 08:26

Congratulations to kleinemaus and Ruby. I love the name Kleine.

ht Do you know anyone who can come out and dosome reflexology on you? When everything slowed down with ds2 my friend came over and worked her magic and everytime she pressed the part of my foot that represents the womb etc I had a contraction!! Labour started up again after that.

lmb Hes utterly gorgeous.

hc my ds2 was a real snuggler and eater, swaddling him helped and also putting his crib mattress next to me in the bed and laying him on it so when I needed to move him into his crib I just lifted the whole thing in.
Its my birthday onthe 8th too and dps on 9th!

I hope we can all get some relaxation today and good luck everyone.

twinklegreen · 03/10/2009 09:30

Congratulations kleinmaus and ruby

Lovely pics lmb

I've put some pics on my profile.

Looking forward to a few more birth announcements today, fingers crossed for everyone

HumphreysCorner · 03/10/2009 10:14

Congratulations to ruby on the birth of your baby girl.

Another bad night, I have found his routine is feed/be held until 4/4-30 am when he then becomes so tired he sleeps. Need to alter this sleep pattern.

peaches-birthday buddies. Bet you're not 40 like me though. I get paranoid about falling asleep with him on my bed and hsve found with all 3 of mine that when I do fall asleep in between feeds I wake up in a panic thinking I have fell asleep before putting them in the crib. Then I jump up and see him in his crib. Normal reaction though so I have heard.

HT-hope it starts again today.

LMB and twinkle-beautiful pics from you both. Will get some up later of Matthew.

Can't stop saying the baby all the time. Note to self-Matthew, Matthew, Matthew.

Laters! Big wave to all.

twinklegreen I love the pics on your profile

kowaikiwi · 03/10/2009 11:03

I've just caught up with the thread again (actually did it last night about 1am as wasn't sleeping).
Congrats to everyone who has their DS or DD now, and sending empathy, sympathy and bring-on-labour vibes to everyone else (please send some back my way too!).
I know I'm only 39 weeks today and to start wanting it to happen is only going to wear me out, but I just don't see how my belly can get any bigger if this baby stays in there and keeps growing for maybe another 2 weeks! I'm sure I'm going to explode, and not from the right place
Just had a nice warm bath and can recommend it for anyone not sleeping so well or in need of a relax, bliss. (Apart from the getting out bit - I'm sure that's just comical).
Big hugs to everyone feeling hormonal - it won't be long now x

peachespaige · 03/10/2009 11:40

Beautiful pictures twinkle squishy little new borns!!!

hc totally know where you are coming from, I barely slept with him next to me, its so tough. Have you seen The Woombie

Dont know if this would help.

peachespaige · 03/10/2009 11:43

kowaikiwiI just had a bath then a massive massive cry!

Dp came into the bedroom and wrapped a duvet around me and laid me down, bless him!
I feel so much better now.

BellaCullen · 03/10/2009 11:50

Congratulations kleinemaus and ruby.

Its all happening now on here just not with me.

Love the baby pictures they`re both gorgeous.

Sugarkane feel excactly the same as you so fed up with constant cramps and backache that leads to nothing.Have suggested to DP to try and do sweep or break my waters and he was just horrified, still won`t give me sex though.

Hoping that with a full moon tomorrow something might happen, well a girl can hope.

princessmel · 03/10/2009 11:57

Congrats Klein! Sounds a FAB birth!!

I think I had a show this morning. Like a sneeze with red blood streaks. it wasn't much thoug, basically the same amount you'd get in a sneeze!! I'm hoping for more of the same....
I have been spotting a bit this week too and feeling periody.

Has ruby had the baby? Not got time to check as am going out.

Take care everyone.

littlepea72 · 03/10/2009 12:09

Well done with the new babies!!! and all the photos are great to see as well.

Going to finish all the odd jobs that need done this weekend, DH is feeling so bad about things, that he is falling over himself to do stuff love it! Still havent put my hospital bag together, but didnt feel i needed to as im going in during the week, a bit silly really. Also have been told not to bring anything in for the NB, the hospital have nappies, wipes, clothes etc, and that the baby is mostly in the nursery apart from when people come in or for the feeding.....we are told & made to rest....this could be nice!

Bella you have made me laugh! Tell him he has 2 options....sweep or sex, bet you get the sex LOL......

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all doing well. Princessmel...hope its long now! xxx

smallone · 03/10/2009 16:44

Hi all, still here, my laptop is playing up a bit so I'm hoping it'll last out till the baby arrives! Congrats to ruby and kleine! and LOVE seeing pics of all these little ones.

Had a very small show this morning but nothing since, with dd I think it was fairly constant until labour started properly. Nothing doing since reflexology on thurs so going to get my sister to give my feet a good poke later.

OP posts:
princessmel · 03/10/2009 18:15

I'm still here too!
smallone how 'small' is small when talking about your show? I am sure mine was one as it was mucousy/sneezy and blood streaked but just not much and nothing since.

Littlepea a rest sounds great but do you have the option of keeping the baby with you if you wish, rather than them being at the nursery???

Off to look at pics...

fidelma · 03/10/2009 18:57

trying to catch up but it's not easy.congratulations on all the new babies and what lovely pictures.

i have just given the baby his first bath (birth on wed)very laid back this time, but he has just done his first real poo! typical time to clean him up.

i have felt like i have been run over by a bus but i am slowly comming back together.my milk has come in today and connor is a different little boy.

off to change and feed.

sending labour vibes and quick recoveries your way.thinking about you all lots.

princessmel · 03/10/2009 19:47

Oh how lovely Fidelma

I am so looking forward to feeding again

devilsadvocaat · 03/10/2009 21:18

hi all, lovely pics LMB and TWINKLE

congrats RUBYSLIPPERS

sorry to all of you still waiting for the new arrivals, hope they come soon.

charlie is feeding 2 hourly through the night, ok at the moment where i can sleep in until 9 but dreading dh going back to work. the first couple of feeds i manage to get him bak in the moses basket but by the 6 am feed he stays in bed with me, which i don't like as i don't sleep properly but am too tired to stay awake. can't remember when ds1 started spacing out his night feeds but am hoping it is soon for ds2.

ds1 is really starting to bond with ds2 and asks after him if he's not in the room although occasionally he still gets freaked out when the baby cries.

can't believe he is already a week old

love to you all still waiting and to those on their babymoons!

HumphreysCorner · 03/10/2009 21:24

Hello ladies, have put some pics on my profile.

Matthew had his first bath yesterday at 1 day old so all the gunge has been washed off his hair (secretly would like to leave it on forever). My milk came in yesterday luckily so today have huge melons and he has milky chops after a feed. Shouldn't think he sleeps any better tonight though, it will be another hold him all night again. Oh well, as this is definitely my last baby I am going to make the most of it.

Looking forward to announcements from those with shows. I never had a show this time.

Love and luck to all.
