Morning
Looks like you're next ruby so eagerly anticipating news.

Sammysam I like the idea of making plans to fool the baby .Hope its not long for you now.

Cookie Good luck for Tuesday, hope you get some answers

I feel really weird today, v spaced out. Cramping quite intense at times and more diarrhoea but no sign of the baby coming out. I'm guessing these waves of cramps are normal a few days after a (attempted) sweep. Had massive row with DH who has now stormed off to work early and I won't see him until 10pm. Wishing I could sleep but the house 4 doors up has someone doing work on it-they are usuing a generator and a concrete breaker and the noise is unbelievable. Whichever room I go into, I hear it. Haven't got much in the way of energy but think I'll go out and treat myself to a nice lunch somewhere then try and lie down. I have no energy which is odd for me.

NewbeeMummy · 02/10/2009 12:01

Congrats HC - so happy to hear about the new arrival.

LittlePea, so sorry to hear about your doctor, what an arse!

Why do midwifes and doctors (who keep telling us not to get stressed and to take every easy) seem to be the main cause of stress in our lives?

Have been given dates for my wall in my living room to be stripped out, drieD and redecorated (due to neighbours boiler bursting) and the work starts the day before I due and is likely to take a week, so now have to possibly put up with having a newborn in a house full of builders and stripped to bits

saraheb · 02/10/2009 12:06

oh newbeemummy I know exactly what you are going through.

My plasterer has just told me the plastering won't be finished today in the baby's room and so the skirting can't be put on either! That means we can't decorate this weekend as planned - nightmare. due date 08/10 is growing closer!

I will keep my fingers crossed for you that it all works out. Hugs to you.

princessmel · 02/10/2009 12:29

HT feeling spacey, cramps and diarrhoea ARE all signs of baby coming!!
I'd stay near home if I was you!!!

NewbeeMummy · 02/10/2009 12:55

Thanks saraheb sounds like your situation is more urgent than mine.

It's so frustrating, just as you think everything is ok, something goes wrong...

HappyTangerine · 02/10/2009 13:07

princessmel-thanks. Had a very definate show half hour ago(well still having it) so things are at least moving in the right direction. have just been on floor on all fours leaning over the bean bag for past hour. I'm so spacey though. Just went to put milk back into fridge and found I'd put it in the washing machine . Concrete breaker and generator has stopped for the time being so might try and sleep.

princessmel · 02/10/2009 13:10

HT have you called your dh?

Glad things are happening

Take care.

I'm off out, will check back here later!!

NewbeeMummy · 02/10/2009 13:19

HT - fingers crossed that this is it for you.

LittleMissBliss · 02/10/2009 13:30

Keep us posted HappyT!! Hope everyones well.

DP is doing my head in, he's gone out now and both the boys are asleep. Lovely peace and quiet.

Got a much better nights sleep last night. Think i was feeding about every 3 hours which is a huge improvement and ds2 seems to have setted into night and day. He's stopped crying when i change his nappy now. He's so chilled it's lovely. He doesn't cry at all now but then nor did ds1 and he has turned into a little terror at nearly two as everyone warned me!! They don't stay perfect forever!

rubyslippers · 02/10/2009 13:54

oooh HT - fingers crossed for you

had stretch and sweep - it HURT! anyway, she could feel the baby's head and she said she managed a good sweep

baby deffo back to back so have had some cracking back contractions since then which was the same with DS1

really hope this is the start - having contractions every 16 mins or so

am trying not to get my hopes up too much though

NewbeeMummy · 02/10/2009 14:10

Ruby - fingers crossed for you.

HappyTangerine · 02/10/2009 14:56

Having never really had one before, I can't work out if I'm having contractions/in slow labour. Started at 1.30. The whole of the bottom of my bump tightens and kind of shudders from front to back. Is this a contraction? Mum and MIL led me to believe they'd be agony but I'm finding them uncomfortable but breathing through ok. Happening about every 18 minutes although some are much quicker than others. Slight burning sensation down below and lots of kicking and wriggling straight after each one. DH n his way home btw.

Thanks in advance

ruby hope this is the start for you

dogstar · 02/10/2009 15:52

HT yep those sound like contractions to me. Sounds like early labour. They will begin to come closer together over time and will feel more 'intense'. Keep calmly breathing through them, you will be fine! V. exciting!

Can't believe you're all popping! not a sausage here grr....

Lulumama · 02/10/2009 16:03

just to let you know, think Ruby is in labour, spoke to her a few minutes ago, contractions have been gettting stronger, longer and closer together. my parents are with her and her DH is with her too.

have started a good vibes thread in childbirth !

hackneybird · 02/10/2009 16:08

Sending out good vibes to ruby and HT -looking forward to hearing your news and good luck!

devilsadvocaat · 02/10/2009 17:33

can't wait to hear more news on HT and ruby

ps am only capable of writing short posts as typing with one hand - ds2 is a hungry monkey...

HumphreysCorner · 02/10/2009 17:48

Hi all

Sounds like some of you are having some signs of impending movement.

littlepea-how are you today, I am so sorry this has happened at this crucial time. Your DH needs to be supportive.

idream-hope your baby engages before your next appointment.

My Wednesday evening started off with me screaming at DD1 and making her cry and swearing at DH. An hour later it all started. At 8pm I thought ooh, not a BH this time so used the contraction master to time them. Timed just 3 at 11 mins apart and suggested we get the girls out of bed and take them to mum and dad's and come home again. Well, by the time we got them up and in the car my contractions went to 5 mins apart so dropped them off and phoned the hospital who said to come straight in. Got there at 9-45pm, examined at 10pm and was already 4cm dilated so straight onto gas and air. Next examination was to be at 2am with obs every 15 mins. At 11-45pm everything stopped but luckily restarted at 12-20am. By 1-45pm contractions almost constant but only 6cm dilated so they tried to break my waters but couldn't despite 2 attempts. Had to wait for chief MW who was with another lady but at 2-15am she said not to break them but I could have pethidine. Had this then my waters went. Then had feeling to push but he wasn't ready, eventually after a while of gulping gas and air constantly (pethedine never seemed to work) I just had to push and despite not being fully dilated he was born at 3-20am after a tremendous amount of pushing so no wonder I got a 2nd degree tear and at 7lb 9oz he is my biggest baby yet. While I was in labour I heard a new born cry from another room which made me cry. Bet they were shocked at my warrior screaming when pushing. Felt very spaced out afterwards and was sick. After waiting 6 hours we then had to wait another 3 for him to poo before we were allowed home.

Anyway, last night was a bad one as so tired with missing a whole night's sleep and Matthew cried most of the night, just wanted milk or holding. Hoping tonight will be a tad better.

Will check back for news later and eventually get some pics up.

HC

Sugarkane · 02/10/2009 19:12

Ok moan alert!!!!

Im soooooo sick of being pg, the baby is that low down that when I need a poo I cant stand up due to the pain, and have had to resort to crawling to the toilet, sorry TMI . Add the last week of crampy pains that are just leading to nothing, SPD and everything else I have already moaned about on here previously and I am seriously thinking about trying to perform my own sweep haha.

Sorry its all me me me, will be back later to help others when I have stopped feeling so sorry for myself.

Good luck to the labourers though.

LittleMissBliss · 02/10/2009 19:28

sugarkane that sounds crumby! Sounds like things will hopefull get moving for you soon as the baby is so low.

HCGosh what an eventful birth, hope you and your girls are enjoying snuggles with Matthew, and he reverts from night to day soon. No sleep is a killer.

Ruby thinking of you!

Posted some pictures of Marley.

littlepea72 · 02/10/2009 19:53

HT & Ruby....good luck!!!

Littlemiss....the photos are soooo beautiful!!!

Sugarkane on doing your own sweep! LOL..... its just gotten to that stage where everything is so hard! Hope you feel better.

HC....hope you get a better nights sleep. Having a boy is so different from the girls

To those who are getting the houses done....OMG!! How brave!! I would be pulling my hair out.

Thank you for all the kind words of support, they really did help. My DH was really made to suffer last night, and then i put him onto mumsnet....he said sorry after that
I went to the hospital to get my bloods done & to see the anesthetist (?), i was dreading that, when i seen him before he said no to giving me a general. So it was a surpise when this one was a woman! She said she understood why i wanted one, and if she had been in the same position, she would too....so a general it is!! Yipee!!!! , so now my DH really wont be going into the threate with me....lol...Then i went up to the delivery suite to get the bloods taken, the doctor from yesterday came running in, begging me to change my day from Mon to Wed, as they are booked out with c-sections, not a problem i said, then told him how he made me feel yesterday , big thing for me to do as im a bit shy, but bugger it, he really made me upset. So i got a very big sorry from him! All in all, its been a great day, yesterday was so bad that i just wanted to go home, at least today im smiling a bit more.

Hope everyone else is doing well....so much more i wanted to write but i cant remember what i read about everyone! xxxx

sammysam · 02/10/2009 20:21

Looks like it will be another eventful day......just not for me

So fed up-have sent dp out with friends-not like i'm going to need him here seeing as nothing is happening.....so he won't be back til the morning. Decided he needed it as he has had a hard week at work-and it can only be a good thing if it fools the baby!

Littlepea-so glad you have had a better day!

LMB-gorgeous photos

Good luck HT and Ruby.........nad anyone else!

Rib pain so bad i'll have to go to bed in a min-though i'm not feeling tired-tis going to be a long night!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 02/10/2009 21:45

Hope everyone is doing well. I thought I would amuse you all with this little story relating to the number of hormones racing about our bodies.

I got a parking ticket today. I'd been to see the midwife who was running about 30 mins late so my car was 10 mins over.

I got to the car just as the parking attendant was printing out a ticket. I immediately burst into tears (the shock I think) and just couldn't stop crying. I was sobbing as he was giving me the ticket and apologising as he was doing it.

People were walking past tutting and swearing at him under their breath as I stood there massive and crying whilst he handed me the ticket. He was actually really nice and put a special note in his book that I was heavily pregnant and was late because of the midwife appointment (although he didn't cancel the ticket obv.). I should be able to get it cancelled and it was only for £25 but it really shook me up and I only calmed down after driving to DS's work for a hug . Total hormone overload I think. Poor parking bloke must have felt crap all day!

The Midwife appointment was v straight forward, everything fine and not long to go.
