congratulations calypsoflame on your recent birth. Sorry to hear you had to go in but you are home again with your beautiful little one.

I have heard from the builders that they won't be finished until sometime in the week beginning the 12th October. lo is due on the 8th. Then we have to have the carpets relaid and new ones laid, and decorating to do. I am 'sort of' (not really) hoping I will need to be induced or baby comes around 18th so the house is ready. I could happily have it anytime for me but would have to sleep in the living room with the lo if it came now and I'm incredibly busy with the builders, making decisions etc. I am hoping that by the end of the week the holes in my bedroom ceiling will be filled and we can decorate the patches so our room is fit for moses basket but it is sooo dusty all over the house. Dust every day but makes no difference.

DH said 'told you so' about how long it was taking - he didn't want to start the building work before the baby came as he forsaw all this - clever him [sticks tongue out]. But i NEEDED to do this before the baby came IYKWIM. We have planned this since May but kept having the start dates put off. Final start date was 1st Sept with promise to be done by end of sept - no chance as they didn't work for 2 weeks while waiting for the stairs - which are now in and am really happy. Then they didn't come yesterday til 4pm. Very frustrating.

Nagged them so they are coming after lunch today and all tomorrow. Seems they are also doing another job at the same time and as mine is running behind they are doing both. I want them to concentrate on mine due to iminent birth - is that unreasonable. I understand the other couple are keen on their house being finished before xmas (it's a new build) but they don't have a baby on the way!

Sorry for the long post/ rant but I guess you can tell I am feeling a little frustrated that I can't enjoy the end of this pregnancy and let things happen when they happen.

smallone · 01/10/2009 09:34

Morning! Nothing to report HT, I had a glorious 10hrs of uninterrupted sleep last night so am more than happy to go into labour today, don't reckon it's on the cards tho.

My sister is coming tonight to stay for the weekend, I'm having reflexology tonight, so hopefully that'll get something going. Its a full moon on sunday so that might make the wards a bit busier!

congratulations everyone! There are so many I can't even remember who

We'll I feel like crying. I'm feeling REALLY hormonal and it is getting me down. Had ctx 7 mins apart all last night-not too bad but were very regular. Now there is more general pain I think-though I suppose i'm less aware than I was through the night as I'm up with dd who is being very demanding.
I'm missing the todler group this morning as I can't face the comments especially with the other mum having hers early and only an hour long labour

I'm so uncomfortable now. These pains had better turn into something-I had nothing in advance of dd. Plus dp didn't go up to london this morning just in case......he should have gone then somwthing might have happened!

My head is so fuzzy-there were loads of things i wanted to as and say. Bum. Might come back later and try and remember.

Good luck everyone, and sorry for the huge moan-just feeling really down x x x

Loving the birth stories!!!!

Gorgeous names

twinkle what a fab birth, I'll book myself in for one of those please!!

littlepea glad you are finally on the way to getting some help for your ds.

I have been feeling funny all night. This morning I woke up and had some pink discharge on my pantyliner. I have an achey feeling under my bump too. Feels 'periody'.
I had to put in the 2nd canneston pessary last night and the residue that's coming out today is the same as yesterday, except that yesterday it was chalky coloured and today it is pink.

I am keeping an eye on it. All my friends at school think that something is happening! But I am well aware that things happen then stop all the time.

I am not sure if the blood/pink is just cos I was poking around with the pessary applicator last night...

37+1

Take care everyone.

Big Hugs SammySam and BellaCullen

We'll get there girls, even though it seems like it never happen.

saraheb · 01/10/2009 10:13

oh sammysam I bet you feel down. I'm having one of those mornings too. Just know we are here to listen and I wish I could do something to help.

sammysam · 01/10/2009 10:31

Thank you so much ladies x x x
The stupid thing is I'm in no major rush to get the baby out-i'm enjoying the first time in 3yrs of 'me' time for the few hours dd is at pre-school-it will be some time before I get that again!!! It must just be my hormones-I feel very PMTey-I could bite anyones head off, cry at the drop of a hat etc etc. So i know it isn't how I REALLY feel iyswim?
40+4

HappyTangerine · 01/10/2009 10:36

Sammysam saraheb and Bella Huge hugs to you and I hope things get moving soon

smallone the day isn't over yet . 10 hours! Can I have some of your sleep vibes please?

Not baby related but I've just had a bit of a shock. Two years ago my briefcase was stolenwhen I was working in London-both parts of my driving licence was inside it along with several books and all my folders for work etc. Cancelled licence and have kept close eye on stuff for identity theft etc. I've just had a letter from a second hand book shop-they had found my licence nestled in the pages of a book they had bulk bought, both parts still together. I'm gobsmacked.

Feeling very crampy after the attempted sweep yesterday and don't think I'll make Liverpool at this rate.

MrsKitty · 01/10/2009 10:45

Wow- loads of babies coming now! Congratulations to twinkle calypso Fidelma Have I missed anyone else - sorry if I have.

Feeding going pretty well I think- bit of sore nipples but have got the lansinoh on the go and am experimenting with different positions to get a good latch. Have been horribly engorged since yesterday so am off to put some breast pads in the freezer now having seen that suggestion (a more appealing thought than shoving cabbage in my bra!)

saraheb · 01/10/2009 11:06

thanks HT for the hugs - definately need them today.

So good to read everyones good news - keeps me going and not feeling so alone.

mrskitty I put some pads in yesterday in anticipation. Sounds like a good idea.

To make matters worse, I have just found out that the radiators can't be installed til the 23rd!!!!! due 08/10. So carpet can't go in until after then. Might have to get fitters in to refit landing and bathroom carpet and fit other carpets later. I am sooo fed up of standing on carpet grippers when I go to the loo in the middle of the night (sometimes several times, lol). Ah well nothing I can do about it

smallone · 01/10/2009 12:07

saraheb is there any sort of halfway stage that can be reached? Then maybe you could get them to concentrate on getting to that.
Then you could tell them to bugger off to the other house for the two weeks after the baby is born?

Don't know what sort of contract you have with them but can you start waving it round? Or offer a bonus to be finished by x date?

So annoying when you just want to have your nest sorted but you and your baby will be fine, people have children in far worse conditions. I know thats not what your hormones want to hear tho

OP posts:
saraheb · 01/10/2009 12:49

thanks for the suggestion smallone but to be honest I would rather have them finish and go. I have prioritised what I need doing - work in landing, my room, baby's room and asked that it is done first. Then we can at least patch the decor in our room and start decorating baby's room. We will just need to finish off when radiators are installed then carpets will complete that part of the house. I am going to push for all major work to be finished by the 9th and only finishing off bits after that. I don't care if they have to work all hours. I know the rooms will not be completed until later but just want the house clean and quiet before baby comes and only limited disruption after. I am hoping baby is listening to this and does as it's told and stays put for a while longer .

It's just that my hormones get the better of me at times when I think of it all and I have to fight the need to cry. There have been several times when I could have sat and cried but haven't. Trying to hold it all together.

I know my dd is really worried about it all and I have had to tell her it's all fine and not to worry when I could have done with a shoulder to cry on really. She is 10 and is mothering me! Bless her. I've told her that she was 10 days late so to fix in her head the 18th as the date. That's a few weeks away! Wish I dodn't have to do the same though.

Ooh that list is getting longer! The race is on to see if we can get all these babies born before we need a new thread....I'm guessing not, considering we're getting through a page a day at the mo!

Tho, I definitely predict the full moon will pop a few more over the weekend.
