Congratulations MrsKitty and hurray for such a speedy birth! I hope baby Eliza lets you get some rest today.

HappyTangerine · 30/09/2009 10:35

ruby get well soon and get lots of rest

Sammysam-some online retail therapy that I do when I'm feeling down- allocate a certain amount and "virtually" spend it. Then double the amount tomorrow and the day after that...and every day that you're waiting for the baby to arrive . That'll distract you! Start off with £500 and have fun (well a girl can dream...)

HumpreysCorner If you're still around at the moment, what are your plans for youir 40th? Its soon isn't it?

theboob · 30/09/2009 10:46

congratulations mrskitty sounds like a brilliant birth x

sammysam · 30/09/2009 10:58

Thanks everyone.....not feeling any better and my bloody ribs are KILLING me
Off to pick dd up in a min-maybe she can distract me a bit....

Mrskitty-Congratulations! What a fantastic birth story-lets hope mine (eventually) is like that-although at home

Take care everyone x x x

smallone · 30/09/2009 12:09

Wow, congrats mrskitty sounds like a great labour/birth.

sammysam I so know how you're feeling, I was the same with dd. I went over and everyone had been saying "ooh you'll go any day now" from 36wks, even my GP! I remember lying in bed crying for the last 2 weeks. My best friend had her baby 12 days before me and I couldn't bring myself to speak to her . I hope you can find a comfortable position soon, or something to treat yourself with to lift your mood a bit.

No sign of any contractions now, have been feeling sick tho, and have been to the loo quite alot! At least I feel awake now. I know from last time tho that it could be a week yet, so I'm living in hope of a show so that I can see that something is happening. You'd think I was desperate to get this baby out wouldn't you? I'm not really I just wish these cx/BH would make their mind up!

Ooh having one now....

mrskitty I love the name Eliza so pretty.

Im sorry for those of you who are feeling sore and fed up.

I darent start getting impatient as Im not due until 26th Oct

Im still waking every hour from 3.30 but at least I am sleeping!

My boys are at full time nursery and school now so Im alone from 9.30 to 3pm. So Im not in a rush to have this baby as I havent had time alone for 5 years!

Well I hope you all feel better and brighter. You are nurturing your babies beautifully.

twinklegreen · 30/09/2009 13:00

HumphreysCorner · 30/09/2009 16:01

Massive congratulations to twinkle and MrsKitty. Well done both of you.

My ribs are hurting, feels very bruised.

Due date +1 so at this rate he will be arriving on my 40th B'Day (8th Oct). Mum and dad are doing a meal for me and DH and girls as I did assume I would have a newborn so didn't want to be going out to a restaurant.

Big wave and hope all those with twinges are OK.

Con gratulations to mrskitty and twinklegreen and lovely names.

sammysam know how youre feeling as feeling the same.Had BH/CX for about 2 hours this morning that really hurt but as soon as got up they slowed down and stopped could cry/scream with frustration.Want to go into hiding too. This is third time with pains like that dont know why it starts and then stops didn`t have this with other two when pain started so did labour.

HumphreysCorner · 30/09/2009 17:21

It is the same with me Bella with DD1 and DD2, start of pain resulted in a birth and before my due date. This time have had several weeks of starting and stopping. Have stopped mentioning twinges at school as am sure they think I'm making it up-lol!

hackneybird · 30/09/2009 17:28

Just back from hospital. Had to wait for well over an hour BUT didn't have to see the SHO . Saw a lovely female registrar instead who offered to do an internal and a sweep there and then. She tried but neck of the womb was apparently not favourable for a sweep but there are positive changes. So my own midwife is going to try again on Monday at GP and if thats unsuccessful, I'll be induced. Induction date of 10th October (a Sat). I had a bit of a wobble when they gave me the date(first time mum so not sure what to expect and as it gets closer, weveryone feels the need to tel me how horrifically painful childbirth is)but am ok now.

Question for those of you who have had sweeps-I was told that there'd be some spotting but am getting some brown mucousy discharge as well. When does the cramping stop? Ta - between that and the backache, I don't think I'm in for a great night! She said it's unlikely the baby will be here before the weekend so I shall have to be content with sending you all contracty and speedy labour vibes instead.x

HumphreysCorner · 30/09/2009 18:20

Don't know HT but am seeing my MW tomorrow, wonder what she'll offer to do as I will be 2 days overdue. Don't worry about being induced.

FlameWithTooManyHormones · 30/09/2009 18:47

Ooh congratulations - lovely names

I have been in a foul mood for the last two days The whole starting and stopping crap has pissed me off, and I am not the most tolerant with the end of pregnancy at the best of times!!!

A mum asked today how I was and I am feeling weird, (have been all day), we were discussing how feeling weird could be a sign, but that how everything could be a bloody sign now!!!

Birth pool is inflated and mocking me.

kowaikiwi · 30/09/2009 19:42

Hi all, thought I better check in after a couple of days and lo and behold - lots of babies!! And some positive birth stories, so thank you for sharing.
I apologise but I use this forum to make myself feel better by knowing all my twinges, aches, pains and grumpiness are pretty much normal. So thank you everyone! Am considering having DP read this so he understands!
I've decided (in my head anyway) I'm not going past my due date, have had no 'symptoms' to speak of but am just feeling generally crappy, with more aches over the past day or 2 including rib pain, hard kicking from within and a new pain quite low down which makes me think I need the loo, but I dont. Will ask the midwife on Friday, I've never looked forward to a medical appointment so much.
Congratulations to all those who have won their prize and sympathetic vibes out to everyone else waiting impatiently...

Baby Connor Ben was born this morning at 5.19am

Gas and air and tenns it was tough he was back to back and I had to push so hard.

I will post more later and catch up.

I am at home 6 hours after delivery and the family are all around.

6 days early all the rest have been very late a big strong massage got me going.

Very sore but it feels great to get him out.

idreamofbeanie · 30/09/2009 19:53

Congratulations to all the new mums!

Sympathies to all those having the stop-start pains but I hope it means the real thing is on it's way very soon IYKWIM. I have had no symptoms at all, I just don't feel like it is going to happen . Really looking forward to seeing the midwife tomorrow and finding out whether the baby has at least engaged and it is worth trying a sweep. I may embarrass myself by crying though if she says it is still very high and no signs of labour starting . I just feel very frustrated and over-emotional. I never understood people getting fed up at this stage - after 9 months what is another 12 days - but it's really getting to me. Whinge whinge whinge........

littlepea72 · 30/09/2009 20:03

Fidelma well done! Looking forward to hearing all about it when you get a chance.....hope you get plenty of sleep tonight xxx

twinklegreen · 30/09/2009 20:04

Congratulations fidelma Your birth sounds quite similar to mine
