peachespaige · 29/09/2009 21:10

devils the pics are gorgeous!!
mehim my scan dates put me due on 26th but my dates would make it 28th. Both my boys were early by 7 days so who knows?

HumphreysCorner · 29/09/2009 21:38

MeHimCatBlob-I charted on Fertility Friend for over a year so perhaps I should go by FF's due date of the 1st Oct as opposed to the scan date as I know when I OV'd too.

Hi all. Congrats to boob, devils and littlemissbliss! I'm going back to find your birth stories now.

I feel a bit like an intruder, as i havn't been on these boards for sometime. I think having 2 children and working fulltime has taken me to some other place in this pregnancy, but now i'm just 3 days away from maternity leave, i feel the desire to read everyones news once again! esp. as babies are beginning to be born.

I've had a fairly calm pg, although just received the dreaded iron tablets, and have been told to take them rigidly or risk not being allowed a home birth.

Just begin to feel the really really painful movements low down in the pelvis, sometimes i swear the baby is trying to prize its way out with every limb possible.

Anyway i'm off to read how everyone else is doing.

Good luck all xx

Hattie05 · 29/09/2009 21:54

Peaches you can't beat the 30th! I'll be the last! I went 2 weeks over with no. 1, and no. 2 was born the day before edd so won't be expecting this one early.

I recommend lots of walking to those of you who are beginning to feel contractions just make sure theres a toilet nearby.

Anyone else drinking raspberry leaf tea? I'm actually looking forward to starting mine this friday when i turn 36 weeks as it makes me feel like the end is in sight!

twinklegreen · 30/09/2009 01:40

Well I think I might be in labour, not 100% sure though. You'd think by the third go I would know!

It's different to my other labours, seem to be having a gentle start. Cx started about 11'o'clock and are now about 7 mins apart lasting for 1min 20ish. Also been bleeding a bit.

Just sitting here playing playing solitaire wondering if I should get my mum round, really don't want to disturb her in the middle of the night if it's not the real thing.

smallone · 30/09/2009 02:20

Hi twinkle hope you're ok. I can't sleep, been uncomfortable with period pain BH all afternoon. Took some paracetamol before bed and have just woken up for some more. Felt really constipated but have now been to the loo and feel a bit better. Still no show or any proper cx. Just going to wait for paracetamol to kick in and then going back to bed. If somethings going to start I might as well sleep if I can.

Are you progressing?

OP posts:
twinklegreen · 30/09/2009 02:27

Hi smallone I'm fine thanks, a bit bored to be honest! CX now about 6 mins apart, I think I'm in denial, keep convincing myself it's not the real thing, then another cx hits and I know it is real

Hope you manage to get some sleep

smallone · 30/09/2009 02:28

Ta, now the killer heartburn has hit so I need to sort that out before I can go to sleep too. grr who'd be pg eh?

Can you watch a film or something to pass a bit of time?

OP posts:
twinklegreen · 30/09/2009 02:32

Yes think I'll go downstairs and have a cup of tea and see whats on telly. Never had a labour this slow before, the other two have been fast and furious! Just hope this little one makes it into September

smallone · 30/09/2009 02:43

Good luck, am off to bed now, I had a really slow on off labour with dd so I can recommend anything that makes you not look at the clock for as long as possible!

Hopefully you won't still be on in the morning [in the nicest possible way!]

OP posts:
twinklegreen · 30/09/2009 03:04

Thanks, hope you get some rest.

HappyTangerine · 30/09/2009 03:42

Good luck twinklegreen, sounds like you have a good chance of your little one being a September baby. Hope you're progressing well and have found something good to watch (as you can tell, I'm someone else who is too uncomfortable to sleep!) x

smallone · 30/09/2009 05:48

Still awake! Been in bed, with hot water bottle but still having cx, really mild tho, just enough to keep me awake. I'm guessing that they'll tail off as soon as DH wakes up for work and then I'm going to have dd to deal with on only 3hrs sleep. aggh! Oh well I suppose its good practice for life with a newborn!

OP posts:
littlepea72 · 30/09/2009 07:10

How are all the non-sleepers? Are you still with us twinklegreen? Ive been up all night, thanks to a mozzie who has bit me from head to toe, now im all one bit itch! Death to the mozzie when i find it!

saraheb · 30/09/2009 07:58

My heart goes out to all you non-sleepers. That's usually me but last night for the first night in ages I managed to get back to sleep when I woke up.

good luck twinklegreen - hope you have the september birth you want.

smallone · 30/09/2009 08:49

Morning! Managed to sleep between 6.30 and 8.00, cx must have stopped. Had two or three really mild ones since I woke up so have sent DH off to work. Depressing thing is I'm not even expecting anything to start up again today.

Are you still around twinkle?

OP posts:
Mossop · 30/09/2009 08:52

Wow - congratulations DA and LMB!

All went well with our house move, DD seems to have settled in well. Got lots to do before I'm ready for baby to arrive though!

Sounds like there's lots going on at the moment, should be a flurry of birth announcements over the next few days. Good luck everyone!

sammysam · 30/09/2009 10:07

Hi Kleine and beanie-I'm so pissed off today. I'm not in a huge rush for this baby and am a very patient person but having had 3wks of @you haven't had it yet!' from every random person several times a day (last time I was hybernating on mat leave-so avoided all this) is wearing VERY thin now. Plus friend of friend had hers 2.5wks early yesterday, had massive argument with dp who is now not talking to me, and one with my mum on the phone last night. Feeling crap and just want to run away and cry. Reaaally nasty pains in my ribs and back-can't get comfy sitting down at all. Saw the mw on mon (40+1) who said I could have a sweep later in the week-I opted for the latest day she offered as I don't really want one-so she is coming sun morning. So i'll be 41wks. I wish i had some money-really fancy a shopping spree.......

I hope everyone is ok, and that everyone who thought/thinks they are in labour are doing well and things are progressing x x x

MrsKitty · 30/09/2009 10:15

Hi all

Lost this thread for a while as had too much going on - spent the last two weeks back and forth to the hospital for monitoring/diabetes stuff/had an ECV to turn baby/physio for pelvic pain (got crutches) and I was booked in for an induction on Monday at 39 wks due to diabetes... HOWEVER....

On saturday I went in to spontaneous labour and am now sitting at home with my lovely DD asleep on my lap!

It was fabulous - a million miles away from my last experience and I was so pleased to avoid induction!

7pm I thought my waters were leaking, but there was nothing else happening so I called the hospital to see what to do. they asked me to come in for monitoring so I left DH at home with DS and drove myself in. 8pm strapped to monitor, started thinking "hmm these periody pains are quite regular" but quite mild too. once off the monitor pain started building rapidly - texted DH and told him to put his parents on standby just in case thankfully he got them over straight away! contractions were coming one after another and I was feeling sick so buzzed MW and tried to explain that I thought things were happening really quickly (meanwhile text to DH with "think you should come in,can always go home again if nothing doing" - again what did I think was going on?!) MW not convinced but did an exam and was 4cm! transferred immediately to delivery room at 10pm, DH arrived 1015, somewhat surprised to find me there after so many calm messages...

G&A and TENS machine now strapped on I was sat on bed as needed continuous monitoring, then MW said needed a scalp monitor put on DD as having trouble picking up heartbeat, but when she got down there she suddenly said "Right- get on your side - very important - here comes the head!" ... A couple of pushes, a few choice swear words and she was out! Eliza was Born at 23:27 so all done in around 4 hours. Came home Monday pm.

Felt great sunday/monday, feeling a bit shattered now though as was up all last night feeding.

Hope to hear some more birth stories soon!

MrsKitty · 30/09/2009 10:17

Sammysam sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish. Fingers crossed for some action soon.

saraheb · 30/09/2009 10:28

sammysam so sorry you are feeling bad. Thinking of you and hoping you have a better day today.

mrskitty congratulations. Good job you texted him. Sounds like a very quick labour. Glad you are all ok. Keep resting today to regain your strength.

rubyslippers · 30/09/2009 10:28

misskitty - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! hope you are having a lovley babymoon

who is having rib pain? I am too - it is horrid ... can't sleep, SPD horrendous and no sign of baby

Also still in the midst of this horrid virus so no energy at all and just feel rotten

sammy - sorry ot hear of your woes ... hope things settle soon

love to all - this last bit seems to be the worst hey?!

xx

HappyTangerine · 30/09/2009 10:30

Congratulations Mrs Kitty and family and welcome Eliza. It sounds like you had a really positive birth experience, glad all went well and you are now home.

smalloneone day we will get a good nights sleep again {wistful sigh}. Do you remember what it was like to be able to turnover into any position in your sleep and not have that late night heartburn? I don't! Sending you contracty vibes.

Sammysam-sorry you are feeling so crap, the waiting is sofrustrating and it doesn't help when you can't get comfy and emotions are all over the place. Hope today brings you some progress.

littlepea owwwww. Evil mozzy. If you can get to Boots, get hold of their children's roll on insect repellant-its in a yellow container and is factor 50. I don't know why but it's better than anthisan for bites. I put it on constantly when we were in Italy and was one of the few people with hardly any bityes-and those I did get were far less itchy because I kept applying this stuff.

So today is my due date and not a sausage apart from the diarrhoea which has now been accompanied by the return of the morning sickness. Currently waiting for sofa and then I have the hospital this afternoon. I am becoming irrationally nervous about the appt as I will probably have numpty SHO/FY student again and I resent having decisions about my care taken by someone that can't do a blood pressure reading and has no communication skills. Off to listen to natal hypnotherapy cd to try and calm down.

Hope everyone has a good day, sending lots of progress and baby out vibes to those that want them x

littlepea72 · 30/09/2009 10:32

MrsKitty!! Well done & what a great & very quick birth Hope you are both doing well xxx

Sammysam...hang on in there, i really do know were you are coming from. Even though i know when im having my c-section, it doesnt make this any easier. If i hear "are you still with us then?" im going to scream.....
