littlepea-I can so relate to how you are feeling- I am walking like a penguin and no position is comfortable now

ruby so sorry you are poorly. Rest up as much as you can, hope you'll get over it soon.

Ohmani thinking of you today

Lots of twinges and BHs here but nothing much else happening.Still got diarrhoea, now accompanied by a really annoying pain in my back which even with help of hot water bottle, won't go away. Its suddenly become easier to drive-I drove a bit for the first time in ages yesterday afternoon. On the downside, the ankle/feet swelling is pretty grim and it takes hours for them to go down now, if at all.

Success atlast after my nightmare with Homebase (aka Argos Direct) over the delayed sofa from hell. It was due mid August and we kept getting put off until I get a call at 8pm last Thursday night(12 hrs before the delivery slot), telling me it was now going to be 28th Oct. My nightmare scenario was coming true-people would have nothing to sit on when they came to see us as we'd got rid of the old sofa. Anyway, got a refund from Homebase and ordered a new sofa this morning which will be here by 12pm tomorrow. A great relief.

Wishing you all a great day x

Hi all,

40+2 today and still no signs this baby has any intention of being born anytime soon - a few mild BH which I have been having since 25 weeks and that's it. Starting to feel really fed up. My pelvis aches, I'm not sleeping the heartburn is driving me mad and now I think I have a bug - have a headache and feel queasy and tired. Sorry for the whinge but I'm just really ready to get this baby out .

Congrats again to devil, sounds like a tough birth but he is so gorgeous I'm sure it was totally worth it.

Good luck today Ohmani.

Idream-think we had a bad due date Just found out in the playground that the woman who was due 2.5wks after me had her little girl yesterday.....
I'm just glad that mine and hers don't share a birthday...not sure if anyone remembers but she was the woman I talked about ages ago as she is VERY competitive! So she'll ba happy she 'won' the baby race

I'm going to have to start up the nesting again as a/ the house is getting messy again and b/ i'm getting bored I had promised everyone i'd start taking it easy but can't do that for what could be almost 2wks!

Anyway sorry for the ramble, have a great day and good luck x x x

saraheb · 29/09/2009 13:16

idream I know exactly how you feel. I went 10 days over with dd. Every day seems like a long wait which is not helped by people commenting on it when you see them. I'm same as you too with the pelvic ache, heartburn, insomnia etc. You are not alone!

HT glad you hear of sofa success eventually. My builders are here today and staircase is going in. In only a few days we will be able to start on the baby's room although can't finish until radiator is moved at the end of the job. Then carpet needs to go in. That's booked for a fortnights time. I am now 38+5.

hackneybird · 29/09/2009 13:56

Don't worry lal, I'm not due till 15th so I'll still be around! I worry about being left behind too so we can keep each other company.x

I'm due 10/10 with baby no 2 (no idea if s or d) and just found this thread...exciting to read everyone's stories and know there are lots of us in the same boat. MW told me today all the practise ctx and aches will be doing something good and getting my body ready for the b-day, so I am now trying to be more positive about the aches...
All the best to everyone!

HumphreysCorner · 29/09/2009 16:37

I'm running out of things to paint-just did the gate posts. I have lost count of the amount of people that have stopped by to tell me I am a)obviously nesting and b)look I don't have long to go

Anyone need any painting done? At this rate I'm going to have to go back to the spicy cooking!

princessmel · 29/09/2009 17:12

Good luck Fidelma!!! Keep us updated if possible.

Hi Andrea

Lal I am not due till the 21st so don't worry, you wont be here by yourself!!!

Went to the gps today as I have the dreaded thrush. Hopefully I will clear it up quickly.
Waited for an hour in the waiting room, very boring!

dd had a playdate today and when I collected her I discovered that her and her friend had been playing hairdressers....not good! Luckily it appears to be just a tuft , could've been a lot worse.

peachespaige · 29/09/2009 17:34

Sammy I have the same due date as you and beanie and am now seriously fed up. Every few hours I get a major contraction that lasts for about 5 minutes then just totally disappears. I'd like to think it might be doing something but who knows. I managed to cheer myself up a bit yesterday by remembering that the due date I calculated for myself from date of last period was today rather than Sunday. Seeing the midwife tomorrow. I really don't even want to think about dates for induction. Has anyone else who's now officially overdue been to see midwife yet? I wonder if they'll offer me a sweep. Can't decide whether I actually want one or not.

Beanie you mentioned thinking you have a bug. I've been feeling a bit like that too, but have been looking at it as a sign that something might be going to happen soon.

Crossing my fingers for you Fidelma!

twinklegreen · 29/09/2009 19:19

I'm overdue kleinemaus saw the midwife today but couldn't have a sweep because baby isn't engaged and there's a risk of cord prolapse if waters go. I think it depends which area you're in, some don't do sweeps till 41 weeks.

idreamofbeanie · 29/09/2009 20:21

Hi KM - glad I'm not the only one feeling fed up, I thought it was just me being stupidly impatient. I'm not seeing the midwife until Thursday but they said they would do a sweep then as long as the baby has engaged. She was still very high at 38 week appointment and has definitely dropped since then but I don't know whether she has engaged - how do you know? I have some pressure in my pelvis and sometimes it feels like she is burrowing down in my pelvis but when I lie in the bath she seems to move up again and she is still moving her bum from side to side across my bump which I thought they stopped when engaged.

I think I would feel better if I at least knew it would happen naturally if I just waited but I'm starting to worry about the whole induction thing - I know it works fine for some people but everyone I know who has been induced recently has finished up with a c-section. I don't suppose it really matters as long as the baby gets here healthy but can't help worrying anyway .

Sorry for me me me post , just having a little worried moment here.

MeHimCatBlob · 29/09/2009 20:28

Devils - congratulations

Peaches & Lal - I'm due 25th according to scan but 30th according to my dates (which i am certain of as i was taking my baseline temp. each morning so know exactly when I ovulated)

thanks for comment about my cramps - nothing else since although my SPD is getting worse, I have diarrohea anyway since i went on the iron tablets and am alternating between complete exhaustion and plenty of energy (worked a 9 hour day today!)

good luck for those who are due soon and wishing you all easy, trouble free labour (well, as much as is possible
