Huge congratulations to DA - welcome to the world Charlie! Great weight and look forward to hearing your birth story.

Absolutely diddly happening here, but I'm only 38+4 and DS came on time more or less, so I'm expecting at least another week or two . I went through a really difficult phase, I seemed to grow suddenly and was struggling to manage at my 'new' size, but feel like I've adapted again now - that sounds weird, does anyone know what I mean?

I'd been having huge problems with driving, but found my car has a lumbar support that I didn't know was there, and I've cranked that right up, and its helped loads. I've also had to change my route to collect DS to nursery, so that I don't have to go through any junctions that you have to lean forward and peer around. Its keeping me mobile so taking an extra five minutes is no problem!

DS is insisting on playing playdough now - so better go supervise, hope you all have good days!

saraheb · 26/09/2009 08:45

sparkly I know exactly what you mean about adjusting to to the size and position of the baby. I went through a few rough days but felt a bit more myself yesterday. Once I got through my usual first 'frankenstein's monster-like' walk to the bathroom this morning it has gradually settled down again and I feel like I can cope until my due date. A few days ago I was all for the labour happening then and there, lol.

smallone · 26/09/2009 08:53

Yey devils congratulations to you all!

So.....who's next? [drums fingers]

I missed the delivery of my tens machine yesterday by 10 mins and its gone to the parcel depot. So I've got to go and pick that up this morning. I thought I was going into labour last night as some sort of evil twist of fate. I had bad bh 8 mins appart starting at 5pm working quickly up to 3 mins apart and getting worse but still not proper "omg" contractions. They lasted til I went to be and it did make me wonder if something was going to happen in the night. DH was asking me why I wasn't drinking RLT and bouncing on my birth ball - I said I've paid £35 for a tens machine and I'm not going to labour without it. The bugger best stay in til tomorrow!

Sparkly I know exactly what you mean, last week I felt enormous and this week I feel fine. I don't know if I've just got used to it, if I've shrunk (don't think so) or if baby has engaged so I'm a bit more centered, as opposed to being all out front. Driving is a bit of a challenge for me too but I have to get out of the house!

fidelma yum, can I have breakfast at your house please!

DEVILS - fab news

great name - so pleased for you all and hope you are enjoying your babymoon

morning to everyone else - few mild contractions and a bit of period pain and that's it - think i am in for the long haul

HT - sounds like a show - can happen over a few days

have good days everyone

xx

Flamesparrow · 26/09/2009 09:34

Oh yay Devils

Sickness and diarrhoea can be the start of something... or a stomach bug. I got all excited last week because it is how my last 2 started - then it turned out to be just a bug

Lots of aching and odd twinges here, but nothing decent.

princessmel · 26/09/2009 09:37

Woohoo Devils!!!!!!

Looking forward to hearing the birth story.

I am still having this tea coloured dishcharge, not sure what it is. And a periody type ache.

Hope to get the cot and change table down from the loft today.

Take care everyone.

CalypsoFlame · 26/09/2009 10:14

Devils yay BIG CONGRATS!
Fabulous size and a lovely name, looking forward to story and photo

Still nothing doing here, show still leaching out, but not bright red, and very few crampy contractions . Shuddering at the thought of more RLT - next time, it will be capsules for sure!

HappyTangerine Hope your asthma is better, I can empathise completely with the cold/asthma horror as you might remember from August. It finally came under control when I was on:

  1. Ventolin (blue puffer) 2 puffs x 4 per day
  2. beclomethasone (brown puffer) 2 puffs x 4
  3. Salmetarol (green puffer) 2 puffs x 2 If you are HypnoBirthing (and I think its you too?!), I can only image how annoying it must be to try to practice the birth breathing with asthma

Happy birthing ladies

HumphreysCorner · 26/09/2009 10:33

Oh what fantastic news devils on the birth of your baby boy.

Who will be next-LMB perhaps?

Off to take the girls to a party now so will catch up later.

kowaikiwi · 26/09/2009 12:35

Can't believe I only left this thread for a few days and now it's taken me almost an hour to catch up! Definitely better than TV drama, oh the anticipation of getting to today to see what has happened!
Congrats to devils that is so cool - love the name, and what a lovely husband for logging into the pregnant womens' world (I wonder if he read some of the posts and had a good laugh?!).

After reading everyone's stories about symptoms I'm starting to think I might go overdue, I'm 38 wks today and all I've had is a bit of a step up in BH's but they're just tight and mean I can't relax, nothing stronger. I've warned DP that next week we start trying things - you can guess what is first on his list, poor man has been deprived for far too long.
Not sure how far down the baby is either (MW appt this Fri) and how are they able to tell you what weight to expect? All I know is that I've put on a LOAD of weight and I'm not looking forward to getting it off!

sparkly I know what you mean about adjusting to size, about 2 weeks ago I think baby had a growth spurt and I felt so heavy I could hardly walk and those horrible stretch marks I thought I'd avoided all came at once, but only on the heavier side of my tummy!

I won't take up important space for those of you who have something more exciting to report. Sending relaxing, sleep-inducing and pain-reducing vibes to everyone.
KK

smallone · 26/09/2009 13:24

Yey! Got my TENS machine! That means I can have my baby!

Kowaikiwi Do you have a growth chart in your notes? If you project the line that you've been following to your due date you can read off the weight of the baby. This isn't very accurate tho, so its usually used as an indicator and then if they think its going to be small or big then they send you for a growth scan where they measure the circumference of the babies head and abdomen and use that to give you a weight - not that that is all that accurate either tbh!

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 26/09/2009 13:57

kowaikiwi - I had no symptoms of any kind before my other two tbh (apart from feeling just randomly "odd" before DD). I hadn't even had braxton hicks before this pregnancy.

theboob · 26/09/2009 14:18

idreamofbeanie · 26/09/2009 16:36

Congratulations Devil! I love the name. I hope you have a fantastic first few days home with your son and I'm looking forward to the birth story.

The next few weeks are going to be soooo exciting on this thread!

Well I am officially due tomorrow but I haven't had as much as a twinge or a niggle so this baby is def looking like she will be very late . I see the midwife on Thursday so hopefully she will think the baby is low enough/engaged enough to try a s+s. My bump has def dropped since last time I saw her but she is still moving around a lot (especially when I am in the bath, she wriggles all over the place then) which I'm worried means she hasn't engaged yet - what do you think?

Good luck to everyone due this week!

LittleMissBliss · 26/09/2009 17:11

Haven't check since Friday Morning and it's all suddenly happened...

Congrats Devil and LMB - I'm so happy for both of you.

By the sounds of it there may be a few more this weekend...

I hope all goes well for all of you that are almost there now (if a little )

And to all of you suffering with colds etc I do hope you feel better soon, hopefully some nice sunny days next week will help shift those colds.

oh and just my bit of great news - I have finally finished work!!!!

wibblydibs · 26/09/2009 17:49

Congratultions Devils and LMB ! Hope you're both enjoying your new babies.

We've decided to pretend it's DD1's birthday tomorrow (it's actually on Tues but I probably won't be home) so I feel a bit better about going into hospital on Monday. Starting to get more excited than scared about the induction now, which is nice!

Hope everyone's doing ok.

Sugarkane · 26/09/2009 18:10

I am aching lots, but think that is just general over done it. Bought rasp leaf capsules today. Am even considering the sex thing. (awol sex drive for a few weeks)

I get sooooooooooo stroppy and want them out from about 36 weeks onwards People tend to assume I am overdue with my whinging
