rubyslippers · 25/09/2009 08:08

had some period pains at 3 am on and off for about 3 hours but nothing more ... was on birthing ball for ages last night

soooooo - i reckon there are going to be a few BAs over the next couple of days (Devils, HC and LMB and wibbly). Have i missed anyone?

am off to get a couple of vests today to wear in the birthing pool- may buy myself something sparkly to cheer myself up

have good days and to all those labouring - best of luck

rubyslippers · 25/09/2009 08:09

YAY DEVILS

how far apart are they - did you manage to rest at all?

devilsadvocaat · 25/09/2009 08:12

i am not sure how to time them.
slept ok ish last night considering!

rubyslippers · 25/09/2009 08:32

you can time them like this:

How long they last (from start to finish) and how far apart they are (so from start of CX, then the rest bit and then stop when the new CX starts)

twinklegreen · 25/09/2009 08:34

Devils this might help www.contractionmaster.com/ good luck

littlepea72 · 25/09/2009 08:35

I dont feel good. Ive just walked DS to school, very slowly as it was hurting, so much pressure in lower tummy/pelvis. Feeling very sick, and getting alot of discharge. Back is sore too....I really want to feel normal again

rubyslippers · 25/09/2009 08:48

littlepea - can you get to bed?

please try to rest ... labour is hard work

x

smallone · 25/09/2009 08:59

Yey, Devil hopefully this means no intervention for you! Have they told you what point to go back in?

littlepea Hope you're feeling better after a rest. Drs know how to scare the life out of you don't they! Do you have to go in for an emergency c-section if you start labour naturally? Not long for you to wait now tho.

Any news from anyone else?

OP posts:
jules888 · 25/09/2009 09:20

Good luck to DA and LMB not to long to go now by the sounds of it.

Desperately fed up with being pregnant now 38+1 and want this baby out asap!

Had chronic lower back pain, painful regular BH and periodish feelings for the last 3 days which are stopping me sleeping at night, boo hoo

Looking forward to hearing good news from everyone soon. Does anyone know how to tell if baby engaged - no MWs here in Greece so won't see the Dr till labour now.

saraheb · 25/09/2009 09:20

Feeling for all those with ctx and waiting patiently for mine to start.

littlepea - make sure you take it easy today. I decided to drive dd to school today as just couldn't face walking.

devils - ooh good luck sounds like you won't be long.

I can't wait for all the birth announcements to continue - boobs looks like others will join you soon!

smallone · 25/09/2009 09:44

Hi jules when mw pushes down just over pubic bone its really uncomfortable! That and if she pushes down on the babys bum at the top of bump I can feel it in my bits! I'm sure there's probably an official method tho!

Any sign of HC today?

OP posts:
jules888 · 25/09/2009 09:56

Thanks smallone for the info.

CalypsoFlame · 25/09/2009 10:21

littlepea I'm sorry to hear you're in so much discomfort, I hope you get some relief soon X

So where are the birth announcements then

After my cx tailed off mid morning yesterday, got thighs of steel from all the ball bouncing and stair climbing, but still nothing doing. Get a bit crampy with the braxton-hicks if I roll about on the ball, but doesn't go anywhere.

On the upside I did sleep the WHOLE way through 11pm-7am, a first for months!

Sending out lots of good labour vibes to other stalled labourees

Hope the rest of you are doing well

sammysam · 25/09/2009 10:33

Good luck ladies

Can't believe it looks like i'll go over my due date again....though I have been telling the baby that there was no way it could come before today....and I suppose I may even be telling it not til after my orthodontist appt monday morning Due on sunday! And feel ready-ish now-decided to give up on my list as i've done most of the important stuff! So just trying to do little bits and pieces and RELAX! Have seen and hopefully sorted the florist now so that's one more thing off the list

My dad is coming down to take me out for lucnh today-hopefully nothing happens at lunch!

Welcome to newbies and returning ladies!

I'm so excited!

CalypsoFlame · 25/09/2009 10:46

Forgot my original point to my earlier post!:

Since my false start yesterday, have noticed that the baby is somewhat less active, although is moving - like she's quite sleepy.

Have a doppler and her heartbeat remains steady and strong at 140bpm (+/- 5bmp) over the course of the day.

Is this normal for a relative drop in activity just before labour?
Don't know if its worth calling the MW is this is parr for the course...?

smallone · 25/09/2009 11:12

Hi calypso I don't know, but it would seem to make sense that the baby would rest before labour. Once they get really engaged its difficult for them to move much anyway.
Your midwife may be able to put your mind at rest over the phone tho.

sammy D'ya think your dad could cope with a labouring woman over lunch? I know mine couldn't!

Feeling restless, am not motivated to do anything but feel like I should be, iykwim. Going to a friends for lunch and am thinking that I cant be bothered but I know I'll feel better for having got out of the house. My nesting instinct has left me completely, all my good work is gradually being undone and I can't be bothered to clean again.

OP posts:
saraheb · 25/09/2009 11:26

smallone know exactly what you mean. I cleaned carefully last weekend and keep looking in dismay at the dust from the builders which has settles over everything. I am going to try to dust again this afternoon. I have a small pile of ironing I need to do too. I would rather sit here and play and chat online though! Oh and the bathrooms could do with another clean. Maybe I will go do something before lunch .

HumphreysCorner · 25/09/2009 11:34

Any births then???? Nothing more here apart from mild contractions in the night but absolute zero since apart from backache and period pain.

I too have less movement as there is no room left at all. Have the Macmillan coffee morning this afternoon at DD1's school so that will pass the time. Hope to hear some news from devils and LMB.

Laters!

I've just got back from the coffee morning at dd's school and will go to my school on monday for ours too.

HappyTangerine · 25/09/2009 12:03

Devils fingers crossed for you

littlepea hope you are managing to get some rest

smallone almost replied to you last night as I couldn't sleep either, hope your neighbour shut up eventually. Revenge will be very sweet!

Hi to everyone else, welcome to newbies/returners.

I didn't sleep at all last night. Strong BH every time I'm in a sitting or standing position and in addition, every time I lie down, I get breathless. I cannot find a comfortable position. Bit of a vicious circle as I'm trying to calm my breathing but then cannot so need to use inhaler to stop it becoming full blown asthma attack. Almost ended up in A & E on a nebuliser last night, it got so bad. Its this damn cold, its playing havoc with my breathing. I can't breathe properly through my nose so always feel like I'm gasping for air when I cough and am coughing myself sick. Sorry to whinge, am so,so tired.

Has anyone else got hopsital appointment on their due date? I have-am assuming they'll examine me then offer a sweep? If I get offered a date for induction I'm going to jump at the chance.

Neon · 25/09/2009 12:59

Hope you're OK HT.

Just got back from town and an appointment with MW. No change at 37+5. Had some stabbing pains in town. Baby is sitting quite awkward in my tummy (head down but not engaged) which always makes the MW chuckle . Definitely more tired and everything more effort.
I'm craving shed loads of food too - yesterday I got in and wolfed down 6 crackers with crabpaste and cream cheese, 2 x bread with dairylea and a cup a soup. Then I was in agony for a couple of hours whilst it expanded in my belly.. Just done the same now with ham and processed cheese toastie like some kind of junk disorder!

Hope you're all having a good day

littlepea72 · 25/09/2009 13:04

Hey everyone

Calypso, I had the same problem with my DS before he was born, i was going in & out of labour & then he hardly moved, it happens before the baby is just about to be born!!!! They say its when the baby is in place. As long as you are still getting some movement then its nothing to worry about....just prepare for seeing the little one this weekend lol....but if in doubt, phone the MW as its the weekend & if you would rather put your mind at rest...good luck

HT i have an appointment 2 days before i go in, but i think its just to see if everything is ok.

Ive just really woke up, and i still feel sick. So DH is going to go & pick up our DS from school. I just have that feeling that im going to go before the 5th. I hope im wrong!

Well ladies....im wishing you all really big strong contractions for over the weekend! Sammy...i hope you made it through your lunch!

saraheb · 25/09/2009 13:07

oh HT you do right to moan. Sounds awful. I feel lucky I don't have a cold but to have asthma as well must be awful!

fidelma · 25/09/2009 15:28

going to catch up later.Been to the consultant he was adament that he would not induce me before 41 weeks.

However the baby is 9lb now.
3/5 engaged.
2cm dilated
and cervics very thin.

The midwife gave me a sweep.
