Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

gizmo · 29/10/2009 10:27

Oh God Celery you have my sympathy: it's so grim. If it were just in the morning, or had some pattern to it then I reckon I could stick it out, but it just comes and goes in waves.

That bloody meat hand thread hasn't helped either.

greensnail · 29/10/2009 10:49

I feel so sick too, really fed up of it now.

ClaireDeLoon · 29/10/2009 10:52

oh yuk at meat hand I wasn't feeling sick before, thanks gizmo

herewegrow · 29/10/2009 11:13

I think my imagination is too active, I was rather pleased when I actually saw the thread. I invisioned something worse.....

BiscuitStuffer · 29/10/2009 12:33

Porridge - just quickly - please don't take the aspirin unless it has been prescribed to you - it can have a detrimental effect on the devlopment of your baby as is prescribed on a risk:benefit basis.

Also - do you have a local walk in EPU clinic that can give you a reassuring scan? Any time from 7 weeks seems to be the best timing.

Icanneverthinkofagoodname · 29/10/2009 12:35

Hi all,
Porridge really hope you are feeling more positive about it now. I was convinced I was having an ectopic pregnancy earlier on (had agonizing pains) and then convinced I was having a missed miscarriage because all my symptoms disappeared overnight. Now they have come back (after about 6 days) so I feel happier. Think all the hormones floating about really make us all a bit mental. It might help to talk to people in real life about it that have been pregnant. I spoke to my sister and she helped me get my head a bit more sorted out. As far as I can see everyone has very different pregnancies so there is no right or wrong symptoms really. Apparently its not good to worry too much (like you can help it!) so if you are really worried maybe insist on an early scan to set your mind at rest.

I am going on skiing hol as well in January and will be 20 weeks (booked well before pregnancy known). Going to les 2 alpes. Am so tempted to actually go skiing (just blue runs?) but probably common sense will prevail. Will wait and see how I feel at the time. Will be so flipping boring sitting in chalet waiting for everyone else tho . And cant drink any mulled wine or eat cheese.

minimoonumbertwo · 29/10/2009 14:15

Hi All,

porridge hope you're feeling better about everything - hate hate hate this not being able to sleep - makes you go over EVERYTHING in your head at a totally ridiculous hour of the morning!!

Am NOT going to look at meat hand thread...oh i am going to have to now...terrified myself enough yesterday reading all the ghostly stories on here - although it took my mind of the sickness so maybe a good thing!

cheekymonkeyno3 · 29/10/2009 14:18

hi i posted a few days ago but had some bleeding so didn't join the list - anyway went to epu yesterday after more bleeding - thinking i was about 8 weeks - turns out i am actually about 6 but did see a tiny tiny baby with a beating heart

Congratulations cheekymonkey

Oh god I am consumed by sickness Feel like shit. I forgot how bad it is.

cheekymonkeyno3 · 29/10/2009 14:41

thank you. sorry to hear about the sickness. i feel pretty bad in the mornings but i have to admit after the past couple of weeks of worrying i'm enjoying it. FIZZY WATER is the best cure i have found. good luck

Cadmum · 29/10/2009 15:15

Barely well enough to read and post. I am glad that I am not alone in my nausea...

I wish that fizzy water would help me. I will buy ginger-ale again this afternoon in the hopes that it offers some relief. I am sure that my headache is made worse by lack of hydration but I don't feel inspired to drink knowing that it is likely to be rejected.

Hello, I know I probably sound a bit ridiculous but I had my appointment date for my booking in appointment and possibly first scan and its on Friday 13th!
I am the most superstitious person in the world and convinced myself this is some terrible sign! I am bloody ridiculous - but I can't help it!!

Woofie · 29/10/2009 19:29

Hello everyone,
just checking in briefly - can't keep up with the pace of this thread, especially since work, with particuarly shit timing, has gone ridiculously manic this week.

Really sorry to read about your losses orchid and barack - i hope you have lots of support

Things ticking along v slowly here - still have sporadic nausea, though nothing terrible, and strong cravings for bacon and cheese, which is doing wonders for my waistline. Have my booking in session on tuesday, but first scan still 5 weeks off, grr. It's such a worrying time, isn't it? I'm still compulsively knicker-checking.

Great about yr scan robbo

So sad about yr friend celery, but i agree that she'll probably need you, pregnant or not. Btw, my ds is march 2006 too - what a fabulous age they're at atm!

And so sorry for your loss cadmum

MrsDmamee · 29/10/2009 19:44

Hi All hope everyone is doing ok, time seems to be dragging doesnt it? i just wish it would hurry up and get to 12 wks+ for everyone here
i seem to have gone off all snack food/ chocolate, im just not bothered eating biccys or anything.
Had such a cranky day today was out for the afternoon food shopping etc..and gave up the will to answer DH while he was asking me if i wanted 7up and naan bread.." im not bothered whatever" was all i could manage. poor DH he is a sweetheart really and i still havent bought him a pressie for our 1st wedding anniversary & it was over a week ago, i will soon when i get over the cranks

Saucepanman · 29/10/2009 22:16

Just checking- has time stood still?!

I am having a bit of a low point. 8 weeks today, feeling v sick. Have had a cold for 3 weeks and counting, ds had it a week ago and is still coughing. DH has it and of course feels worse than anyone. DD has croup and is quite poorly. I feel totally useless because I am just not able to get it together to do more than the basics. The house looks like it has been picked up and dropped, and I can't even explain why to people- I just look like a big fat lazy slattern!

How could I have forgotten about this bit?!

Self-indulgent moan over

Saucepanman · 30/10/2009 13:48

Have I killed the thread or are you all off puking?! I am

Celery · 30/10/2009 14:53

Not only do I have morning sickness, I have flu as well. I feel like I want to die.

Can anyone reassure me that the bad fluey cold won't affect the baby?

nickytwotimes · 30/10/2009 14:56

Hello all.

My, hasn't the thread grown!
Brilliant.

I haven't been on gor three weeks because I have bloody hyperemisis. Now, I was pretty sick with ds, but Jesus, this is fucking grim. I have been in hospital for rehydration and cannot do a bloody thing except lie around feeling like shite. Poor ds is being palmed off on the Grandparetns - thank God for them. have seriously wished I wasn't pregnant at times. Apologies to those who are having difficult pregnancies for saying this, but it is not flippant. I am quite serious.. I cannot look after the kid I have got at the moment and it is getting me very down. Feeling sick just doesn't begin to describe this. Dh is booked in for a vasectomy.

nickytwotimes · 30/10/2009 14:57

Celery, it will be fine. Try to keep your temperature down with paracetamol/loose clothes, etc.

greensnail · 30/10/2009 15:07

Oh no nickytwotimes that sounds really grim Are you on any medication for the sickness?

ClaireDeLoon · 30/10/2009 15:18

Hello all, taking myself off the list, today's scan showed no development since about 6 weeks.

Just wanted to wish you all good luck and I hope things go well for you all, thanks for all your kind comments and thoughts over the past few weeks.
