Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

LittleRobbo · 22/10/2009 18:44

thanks horton i will mention it when i book in with midwife, got an 8 wk scan on tues so i'll be booking in after then,if all is well (she says optimistically)

Right,time for lamb chops mash & veg,then bed i reckon,rock & roll

GibberingGinger · 22/10/2009 19:24

Had my appointment with the GP today. Was pretty straightforward, congratulations, what hospital do you want? They will be in touch sometime.

I asked her about swine flu vaccine, and she said that the UK government recommended that pregnant woman had it, but the world health organisation said that pregnant women shouldn't. But she says recommendations change from day to day. At the moment in our area it's only people in hospitals that are getting it so she said I wouldn't have to decide for a few weeks anyway.

Apart from that no news. Am TIRED at the moment. So am off to bed in a bit! Exciting life for me at the mo!

AllGoingSouth · 22/10/2009 21:38

Dontdare - sorry to hear your news.

I too went out to buy "big pads" this afternoon as started spotting. (This is how previous mc started) Brown discharge has now turned red so I think it is only a matter of time (Think I will be heading to the EPU tomorrow morning.

dontdare · 22/10/2009 23:09

allgoingsouth i really hope not..think positive

nothing has happened with mine which is bloody hard now especially as dp keeps getting all hopeful and thinking my body is going to defy medical science and

mentally i am fine atm and want to move forward..... DREADING the actual mc though - feels like a ticking bomb

Those of you on the thread with 'good' preganancys dont be disheartened!

I said to dp ( really pathetic i know) i really loved that June thread loads of great people on it!! Ah well i will keep checking in on you all

allgoingsouth and ladyem thinking of you both x

Everyone else !

bluesnowfalcon · 23/10/2009 06:50

allgoingsouth and dontdare I'm really sorry to hear that things aren't good for you both.

ladyem any news?

bluesnowfalcon · 23/10/2009 07:01

I had my first doctors appointment last night - it was all very low key just told me to take a FMU sample in this morning and a midwife would contact me soon. Anyone elses experience like this?

Kinda thought they'd make sure there and then that I really am pregnant but then did ask about LMP and did dates said i'm 6 weeks and asked about symptoms - tired, faint sickness and reallllllly sore boobs!

Guess I'll just have to wait for midwife to ring me but he said that'll be anytime between next week and 10 weeks so I guess I just try hard to put my feet up now and then and hope all stays good

Finding it really hard to stay positive on here so might not post for a while but I'll check in next week

BiscuitStuffer · 23/10/2009 08:59

I started cramping yesterday, like my period is coming so just mild. No bleeding. I have such a bad feeling about it. Does anyone know how long it would take for the miscarriage to start if it was going to once the cramps have started. i don't know if they're normal cramps or bad cramps

greensnail · 23/10/2009 09:35

Thinking of everyone who is having a difficult time

I definitely seem to have developed preg-head, I managed to set off for DD's baby swimming class yesterday without DD . She was having a nap before we went so I put all our stuff in the car, then drove off forgetting to go and get her out of bed first . Luckily I remembered before i got to the end of the road, very worrying to think how far I might have got without her.

orchidgirl · 23/10/2009 10:07

Bluesnowfalcon - I had my doctors appointment last Tuesday and was also surprised at how low key it was. I know we all want to shout from the rooftops, but I supposed seeing pregnant women is commonplace for the doctors. I didn't even get asked for FMU.

I had my first MW appointment on Wednesday, and although she was lovely, went through all my paperwork and took an arm full of blood for testing, at no point did she discussed confirming my pregnancy or even if I had any symptoms.

As I said to DH when I went home, I now have the paperwork signed of for free prescriptions and dental treatment, a shed load of magazines/vouchers, apointments for scan (still weeks away) and next MW appointment, yet no-one has checked whether I am delusional or not .

Middledaughter · 23/10/2009 10:27

Hi I'm new. got my BFP on Monday after wedding night activities. We got married on Oct 3rd and other than the wedding night we'd been using 'precautions' because we weren't going to try until next year. I'm either due end of June or early July. Anyone else feeling terrified. Has anyone told their families yet? Plus have you been to see the doctor. I phoned and they said they don't see people until they're 8 weeks?

ClaireDeLoon · 23/10/2009 10:45

Biscuitstuffer and allgoingsouth I'm thinking of you both and hoping that things will be OK for you.

My GP was really nice to me - congratulations etc. We didn't discuss hospitals etc as he was more concerned with getting me scanned early. I just dropped in and picked up the midwife form from reception a few days later and I'm waiting to hear from the midwife. I don't have any magazines etc or anything re free prescriptions but I guess all that can wait until I see the midwife.

sunshineday · 23/10/2009 10:50

Thinking of the ones where things are not going to well-take care of yourselves

greensnail I'm sorry but that made me

orchidgirl I hate the first appointment when they take the bloods, but it feels more real once you have the paper work.

Hi middledaughter good wedding night then lol (sorry) I went to the doctor on Monday I was 4 wks she just took blood pressure and booked my app with the hospital, I was in and out in 5 min.

Hi to everyone else hope things are ok

GibberingGinger · 23/10/2009 12:44

So have now told my mum, dad and sister that I'm expecting again. Mum's response was " oh I suppose you'd better tell your father" She's not really one for gushing enthuiasm! Mind you thats pretty much what she said last time, so I wasn't expecting much. Dad and Sister were both excited and congratulatory (is that a word?)

Thought telling people would make it seem more real but still feels a bit surreal at the moment.

Sorry to hear some of you are having tough times. I really hope everything works out in the end

minimoonumbertwo · 23/10/2009 12:52

Middledaughter that's so romantic!!! Very lovely, congratulations on both fronts x

Lots & lots of love & hugs going out to everyone struggling, dontdare i don't know what to say, so sad for you, i guess at least you & your baby were treated with compassion.

biscuitstuffer how are you feeling - ladyem? You okay??

greensnail - oh no!

Horton · 23/10/2009 13:55

My doc's appointment was very low-key indeed. I said 'I'm pregnant' and he basically said 'jolly good, carry on' and that was it. We did have a hospital conversation and I've said I'd like to try for a home birth if possible which he seemed fine with. My local hospital was perfectly okay last time but I'd much rather be at home if I can.

Middledaughter, many congratulations! That's lovely news. I saw my GP at around 5 and a half weeks so 8 weeks isn't standard everywhere.

Ladyemmalou83 · 23/10/2009 14:10

Middledaughter congratulations. I know your the same area as me because of the other thread, I'd go see your GP, mine was happy to see me at 4+6 and that was one of the surgeries in Exwick. Im recently married too, although mine is defo not a wedding night baby.

The results came back from more blood tests and it shows the HCG is doubling, mine yesterday was 750, which I think it low still for 23DPO, any thoughts? Im still being kept off work because I have the kidney infection, but am not needed back at the hospital till next friday for a 1st scan, they decided to give it a week to see how I get on. So im now home sitting with the pain and trying not to think the worse.

Sorry to hear there are others who are going through a hard time at the moment, I hope your all ok. And again, thank you all for your messages of support x

BiscuitStuffer · 23/10/2009 15:10

I went to the EPU at lunch time and unfortunately they couldn't find a heartbeat and baby stopped growing 2 weeks ago. So, miscarriage pending but of course no idea when. Good luck to everyone else and all the best for you and your babies x

biscuitstuffer so sorry to hear your news hope you have lots of support.

greensnail what a hilarious story,so funny.

ClaireDeLoon · 23/10/2009 20:03

I'm so sorry biscuitstuffer

Cadmum · 23/10/2009 21:05

dontdare: I am sorry to hear your news. I don't blame you for clinging to the hope that you might be a medical miracle. It has certainly been known to happen.

Biscuitstuffer: How very discouraging. I hope that you can begin to heal now that you know the situation. Sometimes the dread and the not knowing is the worst part... Thinking of you.

Ladyemmalou: Good news about the doubling HCG.

I don't know what is going on with Thursdays as I was spotting slightly again yesterday but nothing since. I feel sick and exhausted so I guess that I will take it one day at a time.

Hello to everyone else playing the same game.

Beans33 · 23/10/2009 22:07

Hi all. Did test today and am up the duff again. Will be 2nd. Got 10 month old DD. Quite surprised as we weren't really trying, but couldn't be happier. Due 26th June. My birthday 28th - hurrah! What a prezzie. Fingers crossed this little blip sticks around - had miscarriage before DD, so it's a possibility. Haven't even told DH yet as he's off with his family and can't say on the phone as he might shit himself in front of them!

So sorry for those of you that have had bad news re their pregnancies. Thinking of you and sending love and best wishes possible.

xxxx
