Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

I'm really sorry to hear your news Scrappy. Hope you are getting loads of support in real life, and that things work out much better next time

orchidgirl · 20/10/2009 13:09

Oh Scrappy, so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself and I hope you are back on a thread soon.

Cadmum · 20/10/2009 13:10

Scrappy: I am sorry. I hope you recover quickly both physically and emotionally and are back on the ante-natal threads soon. Take care of yourself.

Ladyemmalou83 · 20/10/2009 13:26

Scrappy I hope your ok. Very sorry to hear this is happening to you.

Im very scared myself at the moment. I have had some pinky blood this morning, which has been alongside the cramps and backache. I cant get hold of my doctors surgery as they are closed, I also cant get hold of the EPU to talk to them, so Ive called NHS direct to see if they can offer any advice. DH is in Spain so feeling rather alone on this

minimoonumbertwo · 20/10/2009 13:28

Ladyemma hope all ok - could you just take yourself down to the hospital if you're very worried?

orchidgirl · 20/10/2009 13:49

Ladyem, if you cannot reach anyone go to A+E.

When I thought I was miscarrying two years ago, it was the weekend so I phoned NHS Direct. A lovely nurse phoned me back and basically said to get confirmation of whether things were OK or not I needed to go to A+E. At A+E they did some bloods and arranged for an appointment with the EPU for first thing on the Monday.

I know how difficult it is when you are by yourself (my DH was in Singapore when I miscarried) but for your own piece of mind you need confirmation.

I hope everything is OK.

Ladyemmalou83 · 20/10/2009 13:49

NHS Direct have told me to go to A&E, they couldnt get hold of my GP either. Have got a friend on their way over to take me as dont want to go alone. Just want to cry but for some reason I cant. I'll be back on later hopefully with some better news x

Cadmum · 20/10/2009 14:09

Hoping for the best Ladyemmalou. My thoughts are with you.

ClaireDeLoon · 20/10/2009 14:15

LadyEmmalou I hope things are OK. Glad you have someone to go with.

This thread seems so sad at the moment, I hate seeing people going through problems like this

Woofie · 20/10/2009 15:47

Scrappy - so sorry to hear that. Be kind to yourself

Emmalou - thinking of you and really hoping it's good news.

I spent last night w a close friend who's just had her 4th mc - life can be so cruel.

I sat the last exam of my Psychology PGDip course this morning nibbling ginger biscuits all the way through. Managed not to throw up during the exam, though had to pay a swift visit to the loos afterwards... I've been doing the course p/t for 4 years while i work - can't believe it's finally over - yippee!

minimoonumbertwo · 20/10/2009 16:02

ladyemma thinking of you loads.

woofie well done! that's v impressive - hope you get a good result.

Big hugs to all on this thread - such a difficult time when it should be so exiciting

fillybuster · 20/10/2009 16:07

Scrappy, so sorry to read your update...I wish you a quick recovery, both emotionally and physically, and better luck next time...

LeadyEmma - keeping my fingers crossed and sending you good vibes...hopefully everything will be ok, but really feeling for you dealing with this without your dh for support

Claire - sorry you're feeling so blue, remember its the hormones....

Woofie - congrats on finishing...and not throwing up during your exams!

Perfect Baguette - I know that some people, if they are being really super picky about not eating uncooked fish, also avoid smoked salmon. I think generally if fish is 'cured' (pickled, smoked, whatever) its regarded as ok, as the main risk is the bacteria that can be found in insufficiently chilled or treated raw fish. According to a friend of mine who researched this fully a while ago, even sushi is ok as long as the fish has been stored at below -22 Centigrade, which (apparently) is what all good Japanese sushi restaurants do, as this also kills any harmful bacteria. Very amused at your train story ...you definitely need to get that form from your GP and exercise your right to an upgraded seat next time!!

GibberingGinger That sounds like something I would do....although I don't think I ever actually got back to to normal after my "pg brain" the first time around

Actually managed some work today but am sooooo tired. Haven't thrown up yet but am feeling distinctly queasy a lot of the time...trying to work out whether this means anything since I felt like this with my first (ds) and was much sicker with my second (dd). Of course it may be that the ms won't actually kick in properly for another week or two anyway....as fair as I can remember (and it is quite hazy!), it was around week 8 or 9 that it got really bad with dd....so still time!!

RnB · 20/10/2009 16:11

scrappy am so sorry.

Hope all is ok lasyemma

Horton · 20/10/2009 16:30

Sorry to hear your sad news, scrappy.

And I hope things are okay, LadyEm. Sorry you are having such a worrying time.

sunshineday · 20/10/2009 17:30

Scrappy I'm very sorry to hear your news, take care of yourself.

Ladyemma I hope everything is ok with you when you go to A&E good luck.

I got my appointment through today for the hospital its the 4 nov I'll only be 7 wks so a bit earlier then I thought, but I'm not complaining

muchchocolate · 20/10/2009 17:41

Just wanted to say so sorry to scrappy as well, must be so tough to go through that. Hope you're doing as ok as can be expected.

ladyem hope things work out well for you too.

I seem to be going through a really forgetful stage - in the last week I have left DS jacket at a group, my jacket at another place and just had to go back to the shops as I was there and realised I didn't have my purse - not to mention the clumsiness.

Thankfully no horrible symptoms yet - I remember last time I had horrible MS for a few months and really bad trapped wind that meant I spend a lot of time doubled up in pain - hoping for an easier ride this time - esp as this time I've to contend with a wild toddler!

Hope everyone else doing well. Nice to have people to share this with as its so hard keeping it to yourself just now.

bluesnowfalcon · 20/10/2009 19:30

scrappy i'm really sorry for you hope you manage to get through this in one piece.

Ladyem - hope things went ok.

madamefreckle · 20/10/2009 23:29

Come on 12 weeks...c'mon...c'mon!!! At the moment it seems like a very distant beacon of hope and light - when i'll finally know if everything's still happening as it should... and perhaps the nausea will miraculously vanish as well. Sure it's the same for all of you too. How can time drag SO slowly?!

Haven't been on here for a while and So sorry to read sad news. Best of luck for the future - Scrappy - take care.

Fingers crossed for everyone

LittleRobbo · 21/10/2009 08:22

just catching up,was at work yesterday. so very sorry to hear your sad news scrappy such a horrible time for you but try and look to the future. lady hope everything is ok,fingers crossed for you,and anyone else who is worried.

My dreams have now gone from porn to giant killer pumpkins these hormones have a lot to bloody answer for!! oh,and waking up at 3 a.m every morning and not being able to get back to sleep is a real joy

minimoonumbertwo · 21/10/2009 09:20

littlerobbo i'm with you on the killer pumpkins - we went fruit picking the other day & there were these fields full of pumpkins, I never knew they grew like that, just all over the ground - was great for a bit & ds was loving jumping around them all then I suddenly freaked out and was like they're just loads of scary heads! they're all going to come alive and eat us! So yeah, sorry, that probably doesn't help. Have been having some VERY vivid dreams about one particular ex which happened last time too - my brain is messing with me - why does this happen?!?!
